고신뢰성 광모듈을 위한 솔더 범프의 전단강도와 시효 특성 (Shear Strength and Aging Characteristics in Solder Bumps for High Reliability Optical Module)

  • The change of microstructures in the base metal during transient liquid phase bonding process of directionally Ni base superalloy, GID-111 was investigated. Bonds were fabricated using a series of holding times(0~7.2ks) at three different temperatures. The flip chip bonding utilizing self-aligning characteristic of solder becomes mandatory to meet tolerances for the optical device. In this paper, a parametric study of aging condition and pad size of samples was evaluated. A TiW/Cu/electroplated Cu UBM structure was selected and the samples were aging treated to analyze the effect of intermetallic compounds with the time variations. An FIB technique was applied to the preparation of samples for TEM observations. An FIB technique is very useful to prepare TEM thin foil specimens from the solder joint interface. After aging treatment, the tendency to decrease in shear strength was measured and the structure of the solder and the UBM was observed by using SEM, TEM and EDS. As a result, the shear strength was decreased of about 21% in the 100${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ sample at 17$0^{\circ}C$ aging compared with the maximum shear strength of the sample with the same pad size. In the case of the 12$0^{\circ}C$ aging treatment, 18% of decrease in shear strength was measured at the 100${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ pad size sample.   • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze types of nurse's attitudes toward the aging process. Methods: A Q-methodology which provides a method of analyzing the subjectivity of each item was used. Thirty-four selected Q-statements from each of 38 subjects were classified into a shape of normal distribution using a 9 point scale. The collected data was analyzed using a QUANL PC program. Results: Five types of attitudes towards the aging process from research subjects in Korean nurses were identified. Type I is a positive acceptance type, Type II is a negative acceptance type, Type III is a passive coping type, Type IV is an active coping type, and Type V is an ambiguous acceptance type. Conclusion: The results of the study indicate that different approaches of educational programs for elderly care are recommended based on the five types of nurse's attitude toward the aging process.

  • Aging is a multifaceted biological process that affects all organs and organ systems of the body. This review provides an up-to-date analysis of this highly exciting, rapidly changing field of science. The aging process is largely under genetic control but is highly responsive to diverse environmental influences. The genes that control aging are those that are involved with cell maintenance, cell damage and repair. The environmental factors that accelerate aging are those that influence either damage of cellular macromolecules, or interfere with their repair. Prominent among these are chronic inflammation, chronic infection, some metallic chemicals, ultraviolet light, and others that heighten oxidative stress. Other environment factors slow the aging process. Included among these agents are resveratrol and vitamin D. In addition, dietary restriction and exercise have been found to extend human lifespan. The various mechanisms whereby all these agents exert their influence on aging include epigenetic modification, chromatin maintenance, protection of telomeres, and anti-oxidant defense, among others. The complex process of aging remains under continued, intense investigation.

납고무받침의 노화가 교량의 내진성능에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Aging of Lead Rubber Bearing on Seismic Performance of Bridges)

  • 지진격리장치로서 납고무받침의 동적 특성은 주재료인 고무재료의 동적거동과 비선형 성질에 의존하고 있다. 역학적이나 환경적인 영향으로 인해 고무재료에 노화가 진행되고 결국에는 손상이 불가피하게 발생하게 된다. 고무재료의 노화의 주원인은 높은 온도에서 반응열로 인한 산화반응으로 알려져다. 이에 따라 납고무받침의 가속 열 노화실험을 수행하여 열 노화 전 후에 대해 받침의 특성값을 상호 비교하였다. 실험 결과 열 노화 현상은 전단강성과 에너지 감쇠 그리고 등가감소계수에 영향이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 열 노화에 의한 동적특성의 저하를 실제 교량에 적용하여 납고무받침의 열 노화가 교량의 교각의 내진성능에 미치는 영향을 수치해석을 통해 비교분석하였다. 해석결과 납고무받침에 대하여 열 노화에 따른 기본 특성변화가 교량의 내진성능에 미치는 영향은 크지 않음을 알 수 있었다.

A Study on Analysis of Industrial Injury Characteristics of Aging Workers in Agriculture

  • Objective:This study aims to devise industrial injury prevention measures by analyzing industrial injury characteristics including the status of industrial injuries, source of industrial injury and accident type in order to prevent aging workers' industrial injuries that account for more than half in the workplaces in agriculture. Background: Continuous migration from farm to city takes place among young people in rural areas in Korea, a traditionally agricultural country due to rapid industrialization and economic development. The aging rate in rural areas in 2013 was 37.3%, about three times higher than the total aging rate of 12.2% in Korea. According to industrial injury statistics of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the number of industrial injuries in agriculture shows an uptrend and the industrial injuries of aging workers account for more than 50% each year. Method: Of the 2,970 industrial injury cases occurred in the workplaces in agriculture for five years during 2008 and 2012 offered by a national agency related to health and safety, this study analyzed 1,767 industrial injury cases of aging workers. Results: As a result of an analysis on aging workers' industrial injuries by company size in agriculture, 89.8% of the total number of industrial injuries were analyzed to occur in small scale company. According to aging workers' industrial injuries by source of industrial injury and accident type, the outdoor floor and a fall were analyzed to be the highest at 16.5% and 26.1%, respectively. Conclusion: This study analyzed aging workers' industrial injuries by company size, age, job duration, accident severity, gender, nationality, the source of industrial injury and accident type in order to identify industrial injury characteristics in agriculture. Application: The identification of industrial injury characteristics of aging workers in agriculture is judged to be helpful to devising effective measures to prevent industrial injuries.

Electric Field Induced Super-cooling System for Long Term Dry-aged Beef Loin

  • This study investigates the utilization of an electric-field-induced super cooling system in long-term dry aging of beef loin. Analyzed quality properties of dry-aged beef loin applied with electric field refrigeration (EFR) versus commercial refrigeration (CR). Quality properties was including aging loss, pH, water holding capacity (WHC), cooking loss, color, warner-bractzler shear force (WBSF), total plate count (TPC), and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS). Aging loss of wk 1 EFR was significantly lower than CR (p<0.05). pH of EFR was slow change tendency compared CR. WHC of both aging methods were higher with increase in aging duration. Cooking loss of wk 1, 2, 4, and 10 EFR were significantly lower than CR (p<0.05). Lightness and redness of EFR was slow change tendency compared CR. However, yellowness of EFR was increased until wk 2, 3, and significantly decreased at wk 10 (p<0.05), but yellowness of CR was decreased until wk 3 and significantly increased with an increasing aging weeks (p<0.05). Both aging methods of WBSF was decreased with increase in aging weeks; however, wk 10 of CR was significantly lower than EFR (p<0.05). TPC after wk 3 EFR groups were significantly lower than CR groups (p<0.05), and TBARS of EFR groups were significantly lower than CR (p<0.05). The present results show that application of the EFR system for dry aging beef loin can extends its shelf life and induce changes of several aging properties in similar to commercial aging.

대학 연계형 노인전용집합주거 현지 사례 연구 - 플로리다 주 Oak Hammock 사례를 중심으로 (A Field Case Study of University Affiliated CCRC in Oak Hammock Florida)

  • Amongst society's transitional presuppositions towards the future, an aging population is the most significant matter. Korea has entered the aging society in 2000 and will face the aged society by 2018, which is the fastest time that takes from the aging society to the aged society in the world. Korea requires immediate attention to devise a countermove. U.S entered aging society in 1942 since then have developed various types of elderly housing. Recently, university-affiliated CCRC became an attractive alternative. Therefore, it is necessary to study a successful case of elderly housing. This study aims to explore the key features of a university-affiliated CCRC as an alternative socially integrated aging friendly community. Oak Hammock at the University of Florida was selected for this research as a successful case. The method of this is field visit case study. The study finds that University-affiliated CCRC has a lot of benefits for both university and CCRC. Oak Hammock members can access university's facilities and university provides a life-long learning experience and other programs. Oak Hammock provides internship, volunteer and parttime job opportunities and offer advice to students as a mentor. This study is expected to provide a implication in developing elderly housing of Korea.

  • According to the OECD Report, Korea passed the first threshold to an "aging society" in which the elderly aged over 65 make up at least 7 percent of the population in 2000, and in 2018, are due to pass the second to an "aged society" in which they make up at least 14 percent-just 18 years later. It took France (starting in 1864) 115 years to complete this transition. Even Japan, legendary for the rapidity of its aging, required 24 years. It means Korea has to prepare for the aging of its population within a very short time without mistakes. Meanwhile, in a 2005 survey of the elderly, 85.5% of them preferred aging in place to moving to elderly care facilities. That means housing planning for the elderly which provides them with independent living needs to be considered seriously. The digital technology integrated home may be one of the alternatives to support this idea. In order to find a way to user oriented digital homes for the elderly, this study identified the their needs on the physical features of the ideal home and the digital services necessary through digital life scenarios.

  • 우리나라는 인구 고령화가 매우 빠르게 진행된다는 점에서 "고령화"는 우리의 현실이 되었고 고령화의 진전은 사회 전반에 걸쳐 광범위한 변화를 초래하였다. 그러나 이미 고령 사회에 진입한 선진국들은 고령화에 대한 대처가 활발히 진행되고 있으나 우리나라의 경우는 그렇지 않은 실정이다. 따라서 고령화에 대한 대비책 연구가 요구되며, 특히 고령 사회를 눈앞에 둔 시점에서 노인이 일상생활에서 겪는 불편과 곤란 등의 장애 해소에 종합적 대책이 신속하게 요구된다. 본 연구는 고령 사회를 대비한 디자인 기초 방향에 대한 내용을 문헌 연구하였다. 고령화에 대응하는 디자인 방향 모색은 시각 전환이 요구되며 이를 해결하기 위한 하나의 디자인 방법론이 유니버설 디자인이다. 고령화 대비를 위해 유니버설 디자인 구현은 종합적이고도 다각적 접근과 디자인 전략이 함께 구축되어야 한다. 다 함께 어울려 살 수 있는 사회를 만들기 위해 모두가 유니버설 디자인 마인드를 가진 건강한 고령사회를 기대 해본다.
