This paper presents a method to balance the links of an articulated robot for an unknown payload using an automatic balancing mechanism. The balancing masses are controlled to move in their appropriate locations so that the joint torques of the links are eliminated. After balancing the mass of the payload is obtained from the balancing conditions. Based upon a series of simulation studies some results are discussed.

An autonomous mobile robot has been developed which can follow a travel map drawn on a monitor screen using a software. The robot works as an exhbition guide making announcement regrading the events to take place or introducing the products on display. This mobile robot computes the world position and heading direction through camera image, ultrasonic and infrared sensors in real time using specially designed algorithm. This mobile robot will be exhibited at '93 Tae-Jeon EXPO for an exhibition guide, and will be used in a plant or a hospital for materials handling purposes.

In this paper, an unilateral teleoperation system using an universal master arm is developed. This system is composed of an universal master arm, a slave arm and a telerobot controller. The universal master arm has a vertically articulated type link structure, while an industrial robot is used as a slave arm. As the shapes of master arm and slave arm are different, the workspace mapping is needed, which maps the workspace of master arm to that of slave arm. Experimental results show that the slave arm of the developed system effectively follows the operator's motion.

This paper addresses characteristics of compressible flow dynamics inside a pipe with an accumulator and an inlet orifice. It also presents a simple but stable numerical method associated with the accumulator-orifice calculation. In particular, a focus is given to developing a method of finding an optimum design of the accumulator-orifice system (i.e., the accumulator size and the throttle resistance) that gives the most effective dissipation of the water-hammering problem. It is found that there exists indeed an optimum set of parameter values for the most effective dissipation of the wave energy.

This paper deals with a modeling of manufacturing system and a model analysis by a SIMAN language. A flow of production process is analyzed, and a mathematical model on the basis of the analyzed data is simulated by a SIMAN language. An object of this study is to achieve an optimization of production a reduction of cost, and an improvement of quality by a applicable line-balancing technique and an optimization technique in a real factor induced an analysis and synthesis of the result of simulation.

An infinite locally finite plane graph is an LV-graph if it is 3-connected and VAP-free. In this paper, as a preparatory work for solving the problem concerning the existence of a spanning 3-tree in an LV-graph, we investigate the existence of a spanning 3-forest in a bridge of type 0,1 or 2 of a tight semi ring in an LV-graph satisfying certain conditions.

Previously, Park et al. (2005) defined an intuitionistic fuzzy metric space and studied several fixed-point theories in this space. This paper provides definitions and describe the properties of type(${\beta}$) compatible mappings, and prove some common fixed points for four self-mappings that are compatible with type(${\beta}$) in an intuitionistic fuzzy metric space. This paper also presents an example of a common fixed point that satisfies the conditions of Theorem 4.1 in an intuitionistic fuzzy metric space.

An efficient algorithm for finding the inverse and the group inverse of the FLS $\gamma-circulant$ matrix is presented by Euclidean algorithm. Extension is made to compute the inverse of the FLS $\gamma-retrocirculant$ matrix by using the relationship between an FLS $\gamma-circulant$ matrix and an FLS $\gamma-retrocirculant$ matrix. Finally, some examples are given.

A PWM inverter with an induction motor often has a problem with a high-frequency leakage current that flows through the distributed electrostatic capacitance from the motor windings to ground. This paper presents an equivalent circuit for high-frequency leakage currents in PWM inverter feeding an induction motor, which forms an LCR series resonant circuit.

This paper proposes a method for detecting interactions in a two-way layout with one observation per cell. The identification of interactions in the model is not clear for they are confounding with error terms. The $L_1$-Estimation is robust with respect to a y-direction outlier in linear model so we are able to estimate main effects without affection of interactions, If an observation is classified as an outlier we conclude it contains an interaction. An empirical study compared with a classical method is performed.
