파타고니아 '원 웨어 (Worn wear)' 의 기업의 사회적 책임(CSR) 사례 연구 (A case study on the corporate social responsibility in Patagonia 'Worn wear')

  • This study looks at 'Corporate Social Responsibility' which is required for the fashion industry and brands in modern times. The American fashion brand known for its corporate social responsibility activities, 'Patagonia' is the case study for this research. The purpose of this study is to make suggestions to eco-friendly, outdoor and casual apparel fashion brands that want to introduce corporate social responsibility programs by considering the case of Patagonia's "Worn Wear" campaign. The method of this study was to review corporate social responsibility, previous studies on Patagonia, and literature, such as domestic and foreign media, Patagonia's official homepage, specialty publications, and media. The study concerning corporate social responsibility is focused on Patagonia's "Worn Wear". Worn Wear is Patagonia's system that repurchases and repairs products from Patagonia's own consumers. The study found that the well known corporate social responsibility led to increased sales. Patagonia's social responsibility activities are thought to be part of the brand identity that goes beyond marketing. In the Worn Ware case, repurchasing products from consumers and reselling them or reprocessing them resulted in increased sales, increased consumer engagement, and higher brand attention. The suggestion for a fashion company or brand in a category similar to Patagonia that is looking to engage in corporate social responsibilbty is to adopt and continue a campaign that 'consists of a successful marketing image, connecting memories and new experiences, separated shopping channels while diversifying the creation of distribution and contact channels'.

외식 프랜차이즈 선택요인이 브랜드 충성도와 재방문의도에 미치는 영향 연구 -동경(東京)지역 한국 외식 프랜차이즈를 이용하는 소비자 설문조사를 중심으로- (The Effect of Food Service Franchise Selection Factors on Brand Loyalty and Revisit Intention - Focusing on Consumer Survey in Tokyo -)

  • As Korean food service franchise companies sought to advance into around 2,000 new foreign markets, the importance of global management was emphasized. They intensively expanded into Chinese and American markets in 2015 and these two markets account for approximately 40% of total food service franchise companies in foreign countries. Although Japan has huge franchise market, Korean food service franchise companies in Japan only account for 5% of total franchise companies in Asian countries. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between food service franchise selection factors, brand loyalty, and revisit intention of Japanese consumers using Korean food service franchise companies in Japanese food service market, and based on the analysis results, draw the implications for the expansion of Korean food service franchise companies into the Japanese market. Food service franchise selection factors is defined as service and cleanliness, taste, safety and reliability, cost and convenience, and professionalism. The study results can be summarized as follows. First, analysis was performed to identify the effects of food service franchise selection factors on the brand loyalty, it showed that five food service franchise selection factors including professionalism, service and cleanliness, cost and convenience had positive (+) effects on the brand loyalty. One of the most important factors influencing the brand loyalty is professionalism. In order to raise food service franchise's professionalism, it is necessary for the food service franchise companies to establish stronger strategies containing professional operation systems and services compared to general restaurants. Second, analysis was performed to identify the effects of food service franchise selection factors on revisit intention, five food service franchise selection factors, service and cleanliness, safety and reliability, and cost and convenience had positive (+) effects on revisit intention. One of the most important factors influencing revisit intention is safety and reliability. Thus, in order to raise safety and reliability it is important to form trust with consumers by properly utilizing systems of food hygiene and food safety accreditation.

SPA 브랜드의 의류치수 사용 실태에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Apparel Sizing System of SPA brands)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate various information relating to research on the dimensions of clothing used in the sale of products via the internet that used to target global SPA((Specialty Store Retailer of Private Label Apparel) brands sold in Korea. A total of 12 SPA brands including seven global SPA brands and five national. SPA brands were surveyed in this study. Brands were chosen net sales and consumer preferences the last three years. In all SPA brands, literal size designation such as S, M, L and numeric size designation such as 0, 2, 4 or 32, 34, 36 etc. were mixed, but in case of Jean, the size codes mark waist circumference were dominant. European size codes were more common in case of European brands while literal codes were more dominantly used for American size codes with in the US brands. By reviewing the measurement information of the body and product size, the product measurement methods of UNIQLO, FOREVER 21 and TOPTEN were much more accountable and excellent than other brands. However, most of the others didn't offer proper information such as pictograms or figures about measurement methods relating body sizes and product sizes. In addition, most of global SPA brands offered size conversion chart which consumers could reference, however of none of the national SPA brands offered a conversion size chart on their website. Regardless of the type of clothing, the coverage of clothing size was higher than in global SPA brands such as H&M GAP compared to national SPA brands. In particular, 8seconds did not present apparel size ranges that fit consumers' individual clothes sizes.

차량 누적거리에 의한 연비 특성 연구 (Study on Fuel Economy Characteristics by Cumulative Distance of Vehicle)

  • The vehicle label fuel economy is used as an energy management indicator nationwide. It induces technology development of automobile manufacturers and plays a role of providing information when purchasing a consumer vehicle. However, consumers who purchase a new vehicle continued to complain that the label fuel economy is different from the mandatory fuel economy rate. The domestic fuel economy measurement method is the same as the North American measurement method. The results of the two test modes (urban (FTP-75 mode), highway (HWFET mode)) are calculated in five test modes reflecting various environmental conditions and driving patterns 5-cycle correction formula is used which is equivalent to the fuel efficiency value. In this study, to solve the consumers' curiosity about the fuel economy of new vehicle, we use domestic fuel economy measurement method to measure the new car condition within 150 km of driving distance and the cumulative driving distance condition of domestic label fuel economy test vehicle. A comparative evaluation of fuel economy was carried out for a durability vehicle of $6,500{\pm}1,000km$. A result, mean value of the fuel economy of the four gasoline vehicles increased by 2.7 % in the city center mode and by 2.5 % in the highway mode in the durable vehicle compared new vehicle. And in the case of the diesel vehicle it increased by 2.5 % and 3.9 % respectively. The harmful exhaust gas emitted from the vehicle also resulted in more emissions of both gasoline and diesel vehicles in new vehicles. It is considered that the increase of the frictional force of the vehicle driving system and the lubricating oil system would have an effect on the reduction of the fuel economy of the new vehicle, and it was found that the fuel economy and the exhaust gas were improved by proper cumulative distance (domesticate) to the new vehicle.

이차원적 문화적응이론을 토대로 한 한국계 미국인 소비자들의 패션 및 쇼핑 행동에 관한 연구 (A Study of Korean-American Consumers' Fashion and Shopping Behavior Based on a Bidimensional Model of Acculturation)

  • 이차원적 문화적응이론은 개인이 새로운 문화를 접했을 때 그 문화를 받아들이기 위해서 모문화를 포기하는 것을 가정하는 기존의 일차원적 문화적응이론에 비하여 개인이 모문화와 새로운 문화를 함께 유지할 수 있음을 인정한다. 본 연구는 (1)이러한 이차원적 관점의 문화적응이론을 바탕으로 한국계 미국인들을 분류하고, (2) 각 하위 집단의 패션 및 관련 쇼핑행동을 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 미국 워싱턴주에 거주하는 18-39세의 미국 영주권 또는 시민권을 소지한 미국계 한국인 소비자들을 대상으로 인터넷, 우편, 또는 한인회 행사 등을 통하여 설문조사를 실시하여(n=108). 민족정체감, 미국 체류기간, 한국문화에의 참여도, 한인 또는 타민족과의 접촉도 등과 함께 의복에 대한 관여도, 쇼핑동기, 그리고 패션준거집단의 영향 등을 측정하였다. 한국인으로서의 정체감과 미국인으로서의 정체감에 대한 점수의 중간값을 이용하여 표본집단을 이차원적 문화적응이론에서 정의하는 격리(Segregation) 집단, 동화(Assimilation) 집단, 화합(Integration) 집단으로 구분하였고, 세 집단의 패션 관련 쇼핑 행동을 다중분산분석과 Duncan 다중비교를 통해 살펴보았다. 두 문화적 특성을 함께 지닌 화합집단은 인구통계적인 면이나 민족관련 행동에 있어서는 한국적인 특성을 유지하고 있었으나 패션 및 쇼핑행동면에서는 미국인에 가까운 특성을 보여 동화집단이나 격리집단과는 구별되었다. 이 결과는 이차원적 문화적응이론을 이용하여 패션 소비자들을 이해하는 것이 유용함을 보여준다고 할 수 있다.

외국인 소비자 국적에 따른 한국 안경 제품 구매에 대한 만족도 조사 (A Survey of Foreign Consumers Satisfaction with Eye-wear Products in Korea According to Nationality)

  • 목적: 한국 안경원 제품에 대한 외국인의 만족도를 조사하고자 하였다. 방법: 한국 안경원의 이용 경험이 있는 외국인 106명(미국/캐나다, 일본, 중국, 그 외 아시아 등)을 대상으로 안경원에서 판매 되는 제품, 가격, 시력교정, 시설 그리고 친절도 등을 설문 조사하였다. 결과: 한국 안경원에서 외국인은 안경(62%)과 선글라스(25%)를 주로 구입하였고, 구입 제품의 품질 만족도의 경우 그 외 아시아 국가와 중국이 미국/캐나다와 일본에 비해 높았고, 가격만족도는 일본과 미국/캐나다가 중국과 아시아 국가보다 높았다. 시력 교정과 안경원 시설 만족도는 미국/캐나다인 에게서 상대적으로 낮게 나타났고 제품 설명 등 친절도는 모든 국적 외국인에게서 대체로 낮게 나타났다. 결론: 한국 안경원에 대한 만족도는 외국인의 국적에 따라 유의하게 차이가 있는 것으로 나타나, 소비 만족도의 다양한 항목을 바탕으로 국내 거주하는 외국인의 국적별 맞춤 마케팅 전략을 세우는데 기초가 될 것으로 판단된다.

Trends in Recent Studies on Post-Harvest Technology

  • Purpose: This article summarizes the trends in recent research publications in relation to post-harvest technology for drying, storage, and quality, between 2005 and 2015. Methods: As of S eptember 7, 2015, a s earch query using two keywords, drying and agriculture, on the Web of Science (Registered trademark of Thomson Reuters) resulted in 3749 articles that were published between 2005 and 2015. However, the review was restricted to research articles published in the journals Transactions of the ASABE (American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers) and Biosystems Engineering: Journal of European Agricultural Engineering. Results: The total number of articles in the two journals related to drying, storage, and quality was 500, 319, and 885, respectively. The number of articles related to drying, storage, and quality was 250, 177, and 250, respectively, in Transactions of the ASABE. The number of articles related to drying, storage, and quality was 250, 142, and 283, respectively, in Biosystems Engineering. Conclusions: A shift in research focus from drying and storage to quality in Transactions of the ASABE might reflect a shift toward quality-conscious consumers. It seems that ASABE members are more focused on articles related to post-harvest technologies on quality than their European counterparts. Articles were cited based on their abstract content. 원산지 표시가 미국소비자의 한국산 의류 제품 평가에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Country-of-Origin on American Consumers' Evaluation of Apparel Products Made in Korea)

  • 본 연구는 원산지 표시 (country-of-origin)가 미국 소비자의 한국산 의류상품 평가와 제품 이미지 (product image)에 비치는 영향을 고찰하기 위하여 소비자 특성과 원산지 표시의 영향, 의류 상품의 제품이미지와의 관계를 집중 분석하였다. 미국 전역의 성인을 무작위 추출하여 설문지를 우편으로 발송 회수하여 284부의 설문지가 자료분석에 포함되었다. 본 연구 결과에 의하면 미국 소비자들은 한국과 중국, 한국산 의류제품과 중국간 의류제품의 차이를 거의 느끼지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 미국 소비자들은 한국산 의류와 중국산 의류는 모두 저가의 위신성이 낮고 대량 생산되어 부분처리가 떨어지는 평범한 제품이라고 인식라고 있었다. 한국산 의류는 유행색의 사용이나 유행성에서는 많이 뒤떨어지지 않으나, 위신성과 부분처리에서 특히 낮게 평가를 받았다. 라이프스타일, 점포유형에 따른 쇼핑빈도, 성별, 교육정도, 소득수준, 인종에 따른 제품 이미지 의 차이는 없는 것으로 나타났으나, 연령, 결혼여부, 직업에 따른 차이는 유의하였다. 50세 미만의 연령층이 50세 이상치 연령층보다, 결혼한 사람이 걸혼하지 않은 사람보다(독신, 이혼 등) 좀 더 긍정적인 제품이미지를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 다른 직업을 가진 사람들보다는 전업주부의 제품이미지가 더 긍정적이었다. 의류제품이 다주 어떤 제품보다도 한국을 대표하는 상품으로 나타나서, 한국산 의류제품의 이미지 향상은 섬유업계만의 문제가 아니라, 다른 산업계와 정부, 단체가 모두 힘을 모아서 노력하여야 할 과제임을 시사하였다.

A Structural Compendium on Perceptual Displays of Rural India towards the Role and Impact of ICT

  • The core purpose of the paper is to explore perceptual displays of rural India towards the role and impact of ICT in transforming the lives through education and telecommunications. After meticulous review of pertinent literature on ICT, and its policy framework, the researcher administers both quantitative and qualitative field data collected from the villages of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu with a sample of 250 from each state. More than 90 percent of respondents from the four southern states in India clearly thought that the role and impact of ICT is very momentous. Predominantly, cent percent respondents from Kerala evinced that ICT is the major reason for achieving the tag of "100% Literacy State". And also in the remaining three states viz., Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, the literacy rate has crossed mind-boggling figures only because of ICT's reinforcement. Even in the arena of telecommunications, these four states average telecom density is more than the country's average. The paper concentrated only on how ICT function empirically to build human capacity in rural south-India through the sectors of only education and telecom. This study is first of its kind and precious to all stakeholders of the ICT sector like educational institutional, telecom firms, customers, employees, and governments, etc.

소비자 정보탐색의 결정요인-미국소비자들의 내구재구매행동을 중심으로- (Determinants of the Consumer's Search for Information -Focusing on durables Goods Purchases by American Consumers-)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the factors affecting the consumer's search for information and the relationship between the amount of search and the final price paid. The model indicates the demand for search is affected by the market price of each durable good purchased, the tim available for search, family income, direct cost of search, the initial stock of information, effectiveness of search, and shopping attitudes. The final price savings are a function of search, price of dispersion in the market, the initial stock of information, and effectiveness of search. Data from the Pane Study on Consumer Decisions and Asset Management were used for the empirical testing of the theoretical model. The amount of information search as dependent variable is represented by two different measures, the level of discussion with others and the number of stores visited. The amount of discussion with others depends mainly on the respondent's shopping attitude. The higher the wife's desire to search, the higher the degree of husband's comparison shopping, the less the husband's perception of price-quality relationship, the higher the level of discussions with others. The number of stores visited depends on the average market price of product purchased and the level of family income. The higher the average market price and he higher the level of family income, the greater the number of stores visited. The final savings depend upon the level of information search. The greater the number of store visited, but the less the purchase is discussed with stores, the higher the final savings are.
