The populations of V. parahaemolyticus were enumerated in oysters collected in wholesale seafood markets in Seoul and tested in various possible condition. The populations of oysters soled in the markets were ranged $<2\sim1.4\times10^6$ MPN/100 g from April to November in 2005. In the case of oysters added with V. parahaemolyticus of $4\times10^3$ CFU/100 g, the highest population numbers were $1.4\times10^7$ CFU/100 g, $5.4\times10^5$ CFU/100 g and $2.7\times10^4$ CFU/100 g at $36^{\circ}C$ after culturing for 15 hours, at $25^{\circ}C$ after 15 hours and at $4^{\circ}C$ after 15 hours, respectively. But the difference of the populations of V. parahaemolticus in oysters stored in the icebox with ice for bulked sale and displayed in stalls on ice for the small packaged sale was not significant. In the case of oysters carried with ambient temperature at $30.8^{\circ}C$, the V. parahaemolyticus density was dramatically increased from $2.7\times10^5$ to $1.4\times10^8$ MPN/100 g. It was indicated it is important to carry the oysters to home with ice after purchase. Even after the washing two times with 21 tap water, the common cooking method in Korea was not greately make the decrease of V. parahaemolyticus density from $1.4\times10^8$ MPN/100 g to $9.0\times10^5$ MPN/100 g. So it is noticed to stored in low temperature after cooking, especially in hot seasons.

According to the Lighthill and Whitham's shock wave model, a shock wave exists even in a homogeneous speed condition. They referred this wave as unobservable- analogous to a radio wave that cannot be seen. Recent research has attempted to identify how such a counterintuitive conclusion results from the Lighthill and Whitham's shock wave model, and derive a new asymptotical shock wave model. The asymptotical model showed that the shock wave in a homogenous speed traffic stream is identical to the ambient vehicle speed. Thus, no radio wave-like shock wave exists. However, performance tests of the asymptotical model using numerical values have not yet been performed. We investigated the new asymptotical model by examining the implications of the new model, and tested it using numerical values based on a test scenario. Our investigation showed that the only difference between both models is in the third term of the equations, and that this difference has a crucial role in the model output. Incorporation of model parameter${\alpha}$ is another distinctive feature of the asymptotical model. This parameter makes the asymptotical model more flexible. In addition, due to various choices of ${\alpha}$ values, model calibration to accommodate various traffic flow situations is achievable. In Lighthill and Whitham's model, this is not possible. Our numerical test results showed that the new model yields significantly different outputs: the predicted shock wave speeds of the asymptotical model tend to lean toward the downstream direction in most cases compared to the shock wave speeds of Lighthill and Whitham's model for the same test environment. Statistical tests of significance also indicate that the outputs of the new model are significantly different than the corresponding outputs of Lighthill and Whitham's model.

The poly[(9,9-bis((6'-(N,N,N-trimethylammonium)hexyl)-2,7-fluorene)-alt-(9,9-bis(2-(2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethoxy)ethyl)-9-fluorene)) dibromide (WPF-6-oxy-F)] and graphene oxide (GO) was blended and irradiated with gamma ray under ambient condition. This WPF-6-oxy-F-GO composite was investigated as a hole-transporting layer (HTL) in organic solar cells (OSCs). Compared with the pristine GO, the sheet resistance ($R_{sheet}$) of irradiated WPF-6-oxy-F-GO was decreased about 2 orders of magnitude. The reason for the decrease of $R_{sheet}$ is the effect of efficient ${\pi}-{\pi}$ packing resulted from the formation of C-N bond between WPF6-oxy-F and GO. As a result, the efficiency of OSCs was dramatically enhanced ~ 6.10% by introducing irradiated WPF-6-oxy-F-GO as a HTL. WPF-6-oxy-F-GO is a sufficient candidate for HTL to facilitate the low-cost and high efficiency OSCs.
This study was to develop high-nutritious energy bar from extruded hemp obtained by extrusion process. Mixture of rice flour and defatted hemp was extruded at a barrel temperature of 110 and 130$^{\circ}C$, and moisture content of 20 and 25%. Properties of extrudates such as bulk density, expansion index, breaking strength, apparent elastic modulus, water absorption index (WAI), water solubility index (WSI) have been analyzed. The antioxidant potential was determined by the DPPH-radical scavenging assay. The expansion index was the highest in rice-hemp extrudate at 130$^{\circ}C$ barrel temperature and 20% moisture content among the other hemp-added extrudates. The WAI was increased with increase in moisture content, while the WSI was increased with increase in barrel temperature. The peak viscosity of rice extrudate had higher valule than those of extrudate added with hemp. DPPH scavenging activity of rice-hemp extrudate at 130$^{\circ}C$ barrel temperature and 20% moisture content showed the highest value. Sensory properties, moisture content and color were assessed for quality of energy bar. The color values of the energy bar indicated decreasing L (lightness) and b (yellowness), and increasing a (redness) after 30 days storage at ambient condition. The highest overall acceptable was the energy bar added with rice-hemp extrudate at 130$^{\circ}C$ barrel temperature and 20% moisture content.

Thin nano-sized fibres were prepared by an electrospinning method. The spinning appratus consisted of pump for polymer injection, nozzle and nozzle rotus, and an aluminum plate collected the polymer fibers. Its surface was chemically modified for selective improved adsorption of carbon monoxide at indoor level. The chemical activation enabled to form the fibres 250-350 nm in thickness with pore sizes distributed between 0.6 and 0.7 nm and an average specific surface area of $569m^2/g$. The adsorption capacities of pure (100%) and indoor (0.3%) $CO_2$, of which level frequently appears, at the ambient condition were improved from 1.08 and 0.013 to 2.2 and 0.144 mmol/g, respectively. It was found that the adsorption amount of $CO_2$ adsorbed by the chemically activated carbon nanofiber prepared through chemical activation would vary depending on the ratio of specific surface area and micropores. In particular, chemical interaction between adsorbent surface and gas molecules could enhance the selective capture of weak acidic $CO_2$.
Performance of a portable GC that can be utilized for the real time determination of volatile organic compounds in air was evaluated. It employs purified/compressed ambient air as the carrier gas eliminating the need for high pressure gas tanks. The compact system with dimensions of 35 × 26 × 15 ㎤ and weight of 5 kg is powered by either a 24 V DC external adapter or battery pack. Chromatograms of the mixture sample including benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and oxylene at concentrations of 1 ppmv and 20 ppmv represent a good reproducibility: 3.79% and 0.48% relative standard deviations (RSDs) for peak area variations; 0.40% and 0.08% RSDs for retention times. The method detection limit was 0.09 ppmv. A 30 m long, 0.28 mm I.D. column operated at an optimal condition yielded a peak capacity of 61 with good resolution for a 10 min isothermal analysis. The relative standard deviations (RSD) of the peak area variations and retention times during consecutive measurements over 27 h were less than 2.4%RSD and 0.5%RSD, respectively. Thus, this instrument makes it suitable for continuous and field analysis of low-concentration VOC mixtures in the indoor/outdoor environment as well as the spillage accident of hazardous chemicals.
Repair reaction of plasma damaged porous methyl doped SiOCH films was carried out with silylation agents dissolved in supercritical carbon dioxide ($scCO_2$) at various reaction time, pressure, and temperature. While a decrease in the characteristic bands at $3150{\sim}3560cm^{-1}$ was detectable, the difference of methyl peaks was not identified apparently in the FT-IR spectra. The surface hydrophobicity was rapidly recovered by the silylation. In order to induce effective repair in bulk phase, the wafer was heat treated before reaction under vacuum or ambient condition. The contact angle was slightly increased after the treatment and completely recovered after the subsequent silylation. Methyl groups were decreased after the plasma damage, but their recovery was not identified apparently from the FT-IR, spectroscopic ellipsometry, and secondary ion mass spectroscopy analyses. Furthermore, Ti evaporator was performed in a vacuum chamber to evaluate the pore sealing effect. The GDS analysis revealed that the open pores in the plasma damaged films were efficiently sealed with the silylation in $scCO_2$.
In this study, the linear cutting tests of pick cutters were carried out on a granitic rock with the average compressive strength over 100 MPa. From the tests, the correlation between the cutter acting force and the temperature measured by infrared thermal imaging camera during rock cutting was analyzed. In every experimental condition, the maximum temperature was measured at the rock surface where the chipping occurred, and the temperature generated in the rock was closely correlated with the cutter acting force. On the other hand, the temperature of a pick cutter increased up to only 36℃ above the ambient temperature, and the correlation with the cutter force was not obvious. This can be attributed to the short cutting distance under laboratory conditions and the high thermal conductivity of the tungsten carbide inserts. However, the relatively high temperature of the tungsten carbide inserts was found to be maintained. Therefore, it is recommended that a reinforcement between the insert and the head of a pick cutter or the quality improvement of silvering brazing in the production of a cutter is necessary to maintain the high cutting performance of a pick cutter.

Due to advancements in construction technology and analytical tools, an increasing number of cable-stayed bridges have been designed and constructed in recent years. A cable is a structural element that primarily transmits the main load of a cable-stayed bridge and plays the most crucial role in reflecting the overall condition of the entire bridge system. In this study, a vision-based method was applied to estimate the tension of the stay cables located at a long distance. To measure the response of a cable using a vision-based method, it is necessary to install feature points or targets on the cable. However, depending on the location of the point to be measured, there may be no feature points in the cable, and there may also be limitations in installing the target on the cable. Hence, it is necessary to find a way to measure cable response that overcomes the limitations of existing vision-based methods. This study proposes a method for measuring cable responses by utilizing the characteristics of cable shape. The proposed method involved extracting the cable shape from the acquired image and determining the center of the extracted cable shape to measure the cable response. The extracted natural frequencies of the vibration mode were obtained using the measured responses, and the tension was estimated by applying them to the vibration method. To verify the reliability of the vision-based method, cable images were obtained from the Hwatae Bridge in service under ambient vibration conditions. The reliability of the method proposed in this study was confirmed by applying it to the vibration method using a vision-based approach, resulting in estimated tensions with an error of less than 1% compared to tensions estimated using an accelerometer.

This study was conducted to investigate changes of physicochemical properties and fatty acid compositions of rough rice stored at different storage temperatures and periods. So we analyzed texture, alkali digestion value (ADV), toyo glossiness value, pasting properties, fat acidity and fatty acid compositions of five rice varieties every 4 month on the condition of which rough rice had been stored at different temperatures (ambient and low temperature condition at $15^{\circ}C$) for 2 years. Hardness of cooked rice was increased by storage periods and cohesiveness of cooked rice was not considerably different among varieties according to storage temperatures and periods. ADV was significantly different among varieties and storage periods but not different with storage temperatures. Toyo glossiness value of cooked rice was continuously decreased from 4 months after storage regardless to storage temperature. The pasting properties were considerably affected by storage temperatures and periods of rough rice. Increase in peak viscosity, final viscosity and breakdown was observed but setback was decreased by storage periods. Fat acidity of brown rice was much higher than that of milled rice during storage of rough rice and tend to increase by storage period. Oleic acid among fatty acids of brown rice except Sindongin and Hitomebore tended to be decreased by storage periods and linoleic acid among fatty acids of brown rice of Hopum was decreased by storage periods. The contents of linoleinic acid and stearic acid among fatty acids of milled rice were comparatively decreased from 4 months after storage, whereas the content of palmitic acid tended to be increased by storage periods.
