Failure analysis and heat-resistant were performed for an electric fuel pump that is installed in the fuel tank to transfer fuel to the engine of combat vehicles. The fuel pump with a DC motor was disassembled and inspected to determine the cause of failure. The failure phenomenon was classified into three categories based on observations of the inside of the housing: burnt winding, quick brush abrasion, and fuel leak into the pump. Based on the inspection results, it was estimated that overheating was the main cause of failure. The thermal test was conducted under the no-load condition in 24 hours, and the thermal sensor was installed on the stator surface and the brush holder to check the possibility of damage to the winding due to overheating. When the ambient temperature of the fuel pump was set to 68 ℃, the stator temperature increased to 135.9 ℃, and the winding of the motor was almost damaged. The test results confirmed the lack of heat resistance of fuel pump windings, and suggested that the type F of insulation class (below 155 ℃) of the windings and varnish should be replaced with type C or higher that can be used above 180 ℃.

The study was performed to investigate the effects of gaseous imission of sulfur dioxide and hydrogen fluoride on the growth of rice plant under stressed field conditions. The plants were cultivated in normal paddy fields where are 88 industrial plants operating with 285 smoke stacks emitting pollutants. There has been a number of reported studies (1, 3, 11, 19, 20) which deal with rice plant damages by air pollution under a simulated exposure experimental condition. Furthermore, these experiments were conducted to examine effects of a single pollutant on the plant. Furthermore, these experiments were conducted to examine effects of a single pollutant on the plant. In korea, however, there is no study reported in literature with respect to the in-situ dose-response relationship between rice pant reduction in yields and air pollution. This study is specifically dealt with multiple effects of sulfur dioxde and hydrogen fluoride on various plant growth indicators such as leaf damage, culm height, weight of grain, panicles per hill, spikelets per panicle and percent fertility.It appears that there is a good correlation between ambient concentrations of sulfur oxides and sulfur contents found in leaves with an average correlation coefficient of 0.868 within a 1% significance level. It is interesting to note that a better multiple correlation was found between percent leaf damage and sulfur and fluoride contentd found in leaf with a significance of 1% level. The yearly correlation coefficient ranges from 0.963 to 0.987 with an average being 0.971. It is, therefore, believed that a percent leaf damage may serve as a single indicator of pollutional damages to rice plant cultivating in fields. Regarding other factors to the diminution of rice plant growth in polluted atmosphere, it appears that a significant correlation to culm length and dry weight of grain with a 1% significance level whereas T/R ratio has a good correlation with lead damage within 5% significance level. An evaluation of data observed has demonstrated that both panicles per hill and percent fertility are significantly affected by air pollutants. As expected, hydrogen fluoride has more effects than sulfur oxide. It is, however, interesting to note that spikelets per panicles has slightly been affected while no indication of effects on 1000-grain-weight has been observed. This may lead to a conclusion that a reduction in yield of rice under polluted field conditions may have more been caused by the diminution of panicles per hill and percent fertility rather than by the diminution of spikelets per panicle and grain weight.
This study was aimed to assess the effects of microclimate factors on lettuce chlorophyll fluorescent responses and to develop an environment control system for plant growth by adopting a simple genetic algorithm. The photosynthetic responses measurements were repeated by changing one factor among six climatic factors at a time. The maximum Fv'/Fm' resulted when the ambient temperature was $21^{\circ}C,\;CO_2$ concentration range of 1,200 to 1,400 ppm, relative humidity of $68\%$, air current speed of $1.4m{\cdot}s^{-1}$, and the temperature of nutrient solution of $20^{\circ}C$. In PPF greater than $140{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$, Fv'/Fm' values were decreased. To estimate the effects of combined microclimate factors on plant growth, a photosynthesis efficiency model was developed using principle component analysis for six microclimate factors. Predicted Fv'/Fm' values showed a good agreement to measured ones with an average error of $2.5\%$. In this study, a simple genetic algorithm was applied to the photosynthesis efficiency model for optimal environmental condition for lettuce growth. Air emperature of $22^{\circ}C$, root zone temperature of $19^{\circ}C,\;CO_2$ concentration of 1,400 ppm, air current speed of $1.0m{\cdot}s^{-1}$, PPF of $430{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$, and relative humidity of $65\%$ were obtained. It is feasible to control plant environment optimally in response to microclimate changes by using photosynthesis efficiency model combined with genetic algorithm.

This study was conducted to assess the spray control of flash boiling with mixed fuel in consideration of HCCI (Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition) engine condition. Mixed fuel existing in two phase regions can control the process of mixture formation under low temperature and density by using the spray resulting from flash boiling which is able to induce rapid evaporation of fuel spray as well as the evaporation of high boiling point component. Because HCCI engine injects the fuel early under ambient conditions, it can facilitate the chemical control of ignition combustion and physical control such as breakup and atomization of liquid fuel by flash boiling of mixed fuel which consists of highly ignitable light oil and highly volatile gasoline. This study was conducted by performing video processing after selected composition and molar fraction of the mixed fuel as major parameters and photographed Schlieren image and Mie scattered light corresponding to the flash boiling phenomenon of the fuel spray that was injected inside a constant volume vessel. It was found that flash boiling causes significant changes in the spray structure under relatively low temperature and density. Thus, we analyzed that the flash boiling spray can be used for HCCI combustion by controlling the mixture formation at the early fuel injection timing.
The fluorine doped silicon oxide (SiOF) intermetal dielectric (IMD) films have been of interest due to their lower dielectric constant and compatibility with existing process tools. However instability issues related to bond and increasing dielectric constant to water absorption when the SiOF films was exposured to atmospheric ambient. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to study the effect of post oxygen plasma treatment on the resistance of moisture absorption and reliability of SiOF film. Improvement of moisture absorption resistance of SiOF film is due to the forming of thin SiO₂layer at the SiOF film surface. It is thought that the main effect of the improvement of moisture absorption resistance was densification of the top layer and reduction in the number of Si-F bonds that tend to associate with OH bonds. However, the dielectric constant was increased when plasma treatment time is above 5 min. In this study, therefore, it is thought that the proper plasma treatment time is 3 min when plasma treatment condition is 700 W of microwave power, 3 mTorr of process pressure and 300℃ of substrate temperature.
The objective of this study was to find out the technical feasibility of ethanol-diesel fuel blends as a diesel engine fuel. Fuel properties essential to the proper operation of a diesel engine were determined for blends containing several concentrations of ethanol in No. 2 diesel fuel. A single-cylinder diesel engine for a power tiller was used for the engine tests, in which load, speed and fuel consumption rate were measured. The fuels used in tests were No. 2 diesel fuel and a blend containing 10-percent ethanol and 90-percent No. 2 diesel fuel. The results of the study are summarized as follows. 1. It was not possible to blend ethanol and No. 2 diesel fuel as a homogeneous solution even though anhydrous ethanol was used. The problem of blending ethanol in No. 2 diesel fuel could be solved by adding butanol about 5% of the amount of ethanol in the blends. 2. Because ethanol had a much lower boiling point ($78.3^{\circ}C$ under atmospheric pressure) than a diesel fuel, it was necessary to store ethanol-diesel fuel blends airtight in order to prevent them from evaporation losses of ethanol. 3. The addition of ethanol to No. 2 diesel fuel lowered the fuel viscosity and the cetane rating, but a blend of 10% ethanol and 90% diesel fuel had a viscosity and a cetane rating well above the KS minimum values for No. 2 diesel fuel. 4. At the rated speed, the specific fuel consumption of No.2 diesel fuel was lower than that of the 10% ethanol blend for the almost entire range of load. However, under the overload condition the specific fuel consumption was lower for the 10% ethanol blend. 5. Under the variable-speed full-load tests, both fuels produced approximately the same torque and power. At the speeds of 1600rpm or below, the specific fuel consumption of No. 2 diesel fuel was lower than that of the 10% ethanol blend. At the speeds of 1600rpm or above, however, the specific fuel consumption was lower for the 10% ethanol blend. 6. At the ambient temperature above $15^{\circ}C$, the use of the 10% ethanol blend in the engine created a vapor lock in the fuel injection pump and stalled the engine. The vapor locking problem was overcome by chilling the surroundings of the fuel injection pump and the cylinder head with water.
This study examined users' acceptance process with the QR code as an interactive marketing communications tool. We collected total 200 survey data and 181 questionnaires among them were used for the analysis during for five days, from 9 to 13 in May 2011. The first research question of this study examined the relationship among subjective norms, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitudes, and intention to use through the structural equation modeling analysis. The result of the first research showed that subjective norms about the use of QR code affect intention to use via perceived usefulness, and also directly influence on it. The perceived usefulness has the biggest impact on the intention to use. The research question 2 was to look at the condition effect with the presence of experience. As the analysis result of the second research question, the relationships between subjective norms and perceived usefulness are not different whether or not groups experience QR code, and both groups appeared to have had significant impact. Whereas the relationship between subjective norms and intention to use showed a significant influence on the population that has the experience with the QR code. In order to encourage use of the QR code, therefore, we will need to highly impress on users subjective norms which are ambient pressure on the use of QR code and positively offer marketing strategy which gives users the opportunities to get experience with the QR code.
The effect of stuffing of TiN on the diffusion barrier property between A1 and Si was investigated. The stuffing of TiN was performed by annealing in a Nz ambient at $450^{\circ}C$ for 30min. By TEM analysis, it is identified that there are solid-free or open spaces of a b u t 10-20$\AA$ between the grains of asdeposited TiN. In the case of stuffed TiN, the width of solid-free or open spaces has been reduced to about 10$\AA$ or below. The combination of RBS and AES analyses showed that the asdeposited TiN had about 7at.% of oxygen, and that the stuffed TiN had about 10-15at.% of oxygen. The diffusion barrier test result shows that after annealing at $650^{\circ}C$ for lhour, the asdeposited TiN fails due to the formation of A1 spikes and Si pits in the Si substrate. However, in the case of stuffed TiN, there is no indication of Al spikes and Si pits at the same annealing condition. Thus, it is concluded that this stuffing of TiN significantly improves the diffusion barrier property of TiN between A1 and Si. It is considered that the stuffing effect results from the reduced diffusion through grain boundaries due to the reduced spacing of grain boundaries.

At first, development of forming platform of data was focused, but now, many different idea from diverse area have been suggested about data analysis and usage to visualize the space intellectualization service. To focus on the visualization process to increase the usage of this public data for ordinary people more than specialized people, this research grasps the present condition of open data and public data service from the current public data portal and considers the applicability of them. As the result of research, the analysis and application of data to ordinary people decrease the use of paper documents, and this research will help to develop the application which is fast and accurate about individual behavior and demand to utilize public data service in intellectual space.
Control of the temperature difference across a section is an effective strategy to minimize the hydration-heat-induced cracks for the structures where internal restraint is dominant. The domestic code, however, overestimates probability of the crack occurrence judging from the foreign codes and construction experiences of real structures. Therefore, the background of the equation presented in the domestic code was investigated step by step to examine validity of the equation, and, as a result, it was found that the equation is established on a basis of simple elastic model where the change of elastic modulus in an early age is not considered. An advanced assessment strategy was proposed taking into account the hypoelastic model which corresponds to an incremental constitutive equation. The presented procedure resulted in an increased crack index, i.e. decreased crack risk, the value of which depends on various conditions of the mix and structures. Also, a prediction equation of the temperature difference was proposed which can readily consider the effect of the curing condition and ambient temperature in a hand calculation. For further study, the assessment equation may be more classified to strictly consider the characteristics of the mix and structures if the analytical and experimental data are accumulated.
