난연소재와 일반소재 알루미늄복합패널의 연소특성 비교에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Combustion Characteristics of Aluminum Composite Panels for Flame Retardant and General Materials)

  • 본 연구에서는 건축외장재로 많이 사용되고 있는 알루미늄복합패널의 일반재와 난연재에 대한 화재성능 비교분석에 관해 연구하였다. 실험방법은 중소형 실험장치 중 콘칼로리미터 실험과 SBI(Single Burning Item)을 적용하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 콘칼로리미터 실험에서 최대 열방출률이 일반 알루미늄복합패널은 $1,293kW/m^2$($75kW/m^2$), 난연 알루미늄복합패널은 $70kW/m^2$($75kW/m^2$)가 측정되었다. SBI 실험에서 화재확산지수가 일반 알루미늄복합패널은 약 743W/s이고 난연 알루미늄복합패널은 약 97 W/s의 값이 측정되었다. 이는 일반 알루미늄복합패널의 경우 건축물 내장재의 성능기준에서 난연기준에도 훨씬 못 미치고, 플래쉬 오버(Flash over) 발생 가능성을 나타내었다. 따라서 이러한 알루미늄복합패널의 화재 위험성을 평가하여 외장재로서 사용 시 갖춰야 할 조건에 대한 기준마련이 시급히 요구된다.

자동차 경량화를 위한 다이캐스팅용 알루미늄합금 브레이크 페달의 강도해석 (Strength Analysis of Die-cast Aluminum-alloy Brake Pedals for use in Lightweight Cars)

  • In this study, a strength analysis was performed to assess die-cast aluminum alloy brake pedals as an improved alternative to wrought alloys. Aluminum brake pedal shapes are considered to be suitable for the die-casting process. The strength criterion of Volvo trucks was used as the criterion for the pedal strength. The results of this analysis showed that the frame thickness of the aluminum brake pedal must be increased from 12 mm to 18 mm to have a strength superior to that of a steel brake pedal. Additionally, the stress and weight of the aluminum brake pedal were found to be approximately 24% and 26% lower than those of the steel brake pedal, respectively. Mounting tests and strength assessments verified that the proposed die-cast aluminum alloy brake pedal demonstrated sufficient strength.

풀러렌이 분산된 알루미늄기지 나노복합재의 기계적 거동 (Mechanical Behavior of Al/C60-fullerenes Nanocomposites)

  • $C_{60}$ 풀러렌이 분산된 알루미늄기지 복합재를 볼 밀링법과 열간압연 공정을 이용하여 제조하였다. 볼 밀링이 진행되는 동안, 알루미늄기지는 그 결정립이 100 nm 이하 수준으로 미세화되어 강화되었다. 동시에 $C_{60}$ 풀러렌이 알루미늄기지 내에 균일하게 분산되어, $C_{60}$ 풀러렌의 첨가량이 증가할수록 복합재의 강도가 증가하였으며, 10 vol%의 $C_{60}$ 풀러렌을 포함하는 순 알루미늄기지 복합재는 1 GPa 수준의 압축 강도를 나타내었다.

  • A 30ft class aluminum leisure boat is newly developed and the resistance performances are investigated by a model test at a high-speed circulating water channel. The effect of a fin attached to the side of the hull is studied at two different displacements. Wave patterns are observed to make clear the relationship between the resistance performance and wave characteristics. It can be found that a chine position at the draft line can have a strong effect on the resistance performance around a certain velocity range.

  • High purity alumina and amorphous silica were prepared from Ha-dong kaolin by means of appliance of sulfuric acid. The effect of sulfuric acid concentration, reaction temperature and reaction time on the formation of aluminum sulfate was investigated. The precipitation conditions ofaluminum sulfate from the sulfuric acid solution with ethanol and ammonium hydroxide were deteremined. In the optimum condition, the conversion of aluminum oxide in kaolin to aluminum oxide powder was 85.0 percent. Alumina powder was prepared by calcination of the precipitates, and its purity was 99.0 percent.

Surface modified rice husk ceramic particles as a functional additive: Improving the tribological behaviour of aluminium matrix composites

  • An electroless deposition method was used to modify the surface properties of rice husk ceramic particles (RHC) by depositing nano-nickel on the surface of the RHC (Ni-RHC). The dry tribological performances of aluminum matrix composite adobes containing different contents of RHC and Ni-RHC particles have been investigated using a micro-tribometer. Results showed that the Ni-RHC particles substantially improved both the friction and wear properties of the Ni-RHC/aluminum matrix adobes. The optimal concentration was determined to be 15 wt% for both the RHC and Ni-RHC particles. The improvements in the tribological properties of aluminum adobes including the Ni-RHC were ascribed to friction-induced peeling off of Ni coating and formation of protection layer on the wear zone, both of which led to low friction and wear volume.
