  • This paper presents a theoretical and experimental study of a non-collocated pair of piezopolymer PVDF sensor and piezoceramic PZT actuator, which are bonded on a cantilever beam, in order to suppress unwanted vibration at the tip of the beam. The PZT actuator patch was bonded near the clamped part and the PVDF sensor, which was triangularly shaped, was bonded on the other part of the beam. This is because the triangular PVDF sensor is known that it can detect the tip velocity of a cantilever beam. Because the arrangement of the sensor and actuator pair is not collocated and overlapped each other, the pair can avoid so called 'the in-plane coupling'. The test beam is made of aluminum with the dimension of $200\times20\times2mm$, and the two PZT5H actuators are both $20\times20\times1mm$ and bonded on the beam out-of-phase, and the PVDF sensor is $178mm\times6mm\times52{\mu}m$. Before control, the sensor-actuator frequency response function is confirmed to have a nice phase response without accumulation in a reasonable frequency range of up to 5000 Hz. Both the DVFB and displacement feedback strategies made the error signal from the tip velocity (or displacement) sensor is transmitted to a power amplifier to operate the PZT actuator (secondary source). Both the control methods attenuate the magnitude of the first two resonances in the error spectrum of about 6-7 dB.

원전 해수 펌프 임펠러 합금의 케비테이션 피로 손상 해석 (An Analysis on Fatigue Fracture of Nuclear Pump Impeller Alloys by Ultrasonic Vibratory Cavitation Erosion)

  • In this study, the fatigue properties on the cavitation damage of the flame quenched 8.8Al-bronze (8.8Al-4.5Ni-4.5Fe-Cu) as well as the current nuclear pump impeller materials (8.8Al-bronze, STS316 and SR50A) has been investigated using an ultrasonic vibratory cavitation test. For this the impact loads of cavitation bubbles generated by ultrasonic vibratory device quantitatively evaluated and simultaneously the cavitation erosion experiments have been carried out. The fatigue analysis on the cavitation damage of the materials has been made from the determined impact load distribution (e.g. impact load, bubble count) and erosion parameters (e.g. incubation period, MDPR). According to Miner's law, the determined exponents b of the F-N relation ($F^b$ N = Constant) at the incubation stage (N: the number of fracture cycle) were 5.62, 4.16, 6.25 and 8.1 for the 8.8Al-bronze, flame quenched one, STS316 and SR50A alloys. respectively. At the steady state period, the exponents b of the F-N' curve (N': the number of cycle required for $1{\mu}m$ increment of MDP) were determined as 6.32, 5, 7.14 and 7.76 for the 8.8Al-bronze, flame quenched one, STS316, and SR50A alloys, respectively.

  • Zinc coatings provide the most effective and economical way of protecting steel against corrosion. There are three types of galvanizing lines typically used in production line in galvanizing industries,Galvanize (GI) coating (Zn-0.1-0.3%Al), Galfan coating (Zn-5%Al), Galvalume(GL) coating (45%Zn-Al). In continuous Galvanizing lines, the immersed bath hardware (e.g. bearings, sink, stabilizer, and corrector rolls, and also support roll arms and snout tip) are subjected to corrosion and wear failure. Understanding the reaction of these materials with the molten Zn alloy is becomes scientific and commercial interest. To investigate the reaction with molten Zn alloys, static immersion test performed for 4, 8, 16, and 24 Hr. Two different baths used for the static immersion, which are molten Zn and molten Zn-55%Al. Microstructures characterization of each of the materials and intermetallic layer formed in the reaction zone was performed using optical microscope, SEM and EDS. The thickness of the reaction layer is examined using image analysis to determine the kinetics of the reaction. The phase dominated by two distinct phase which are eutectic carbide and matrix. The morphology of the intermetallic phase formed by molten Zn is discrete phase showing high dissolution of the material, and the intermetallic phase formed by Zn-55wt%Al is continuous. Aluminum reacts readily with the materials compare to Zinc, forming iron aluminide intermetallic layer ($Fe_2Al_5$) at the interface and leaving zinc behind.

반자성 물질에 의한 전자기차단효과에 관한 연구 (A study on the electrostatic and magnetic flux cut off effect using anti-magnetic material)

  • 비스무스는 융점이 낮아 취급이 용이하여 반자성체로서 전자기 차폐에 어떤 영향이 있는지 실험하기 쉽다. 그러나 실제 실험 재료를 원통으로 제작하여 측정된 경우를 찾아 볼 수 없다. 순수 비스무스는 반자성체로서 전자기 차폐에 어떤 영향이 있는가를 알기 위해서 비스무스를 다른 재료와 비교하기 위해서 원통으로 제조하였고 구리, 알루미늄, 철, 스텐레스 스틸도 원통을 만들어 정전차폐와 자기차폐를 저주파대에서 주파수 별로 측정하여 비교하였다. 그 결과 도표와 같이 구리와 비스무스 이중차폐가정전기에서는 제일 좋은 수치가 나왔다. 자기차폐에서는 철은 역시 가장 좋은 수치가 나왔고 비스무스는 별영향이 없이 나왔다.

AS52+Sr/Al18B4O33 복합재료 계면반응 및 기계적 특성에 미치는 시효 열처리의 영향 (Effect of an Aging Treatment on the Interfacial Reaction and Mechanical Properties of an AS52+Sr/Al18B4O33 Magnesium Matrix Composite)

  • The aging behavior of aluminum borate whisker ($Al_{18}B_4O_{33}$) reinforced AS52+Sr magnesium matrix composites was investigated with Vickers hardness measurements, bending tests, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Experimental results showed that aging is accelerated in the $AS52+Sr/Al_{18}B_4O_{33}$ composite compared with an unreinforced AS52+Sr alloy. The hardness of the alloy and composite increases monotonically as a function of the aging time before reaching its peak hardness and then gradually decreases. The composite reaches its peak hardness in 10 h, whereas the matrix alloy requires 30h, indicating accelerated age-hardening in the $AS52+Sr/Al_{18}B_4O_{33}$ composite compared with the unreinforced AS52+Sr alloy at $170^{\circ}C$. The interfacial reaction of $AS52+Sr/Al_{18}B_4O_{33}$ magnesium matrix composite is considered to play a dominant role in the strengthening mechanism, ultimately affecting the mechanical properties of the composite.

굽힘시험시의 Mg/Al/STS 3층 클래드재의 변형 및 파단특성 분석 (Failure and Deformation Analyses of 3-ply Mg/Al/STS Clad-Metalin Bending)

  • A three-point bending test was performed on roll-bonded Mg/Al/STS clad-metal plates under two different testing conditions (Mg layer in tension, or STS in tension) and their mechanical response and fracture behavior were investigated. Bending strength was found to be greater under the condition of Mg layer in tension. Heat treatment at $200^{\circ}C$ increased the bending formability, suggesting the interfacial strength increased at $200^{\circ}C$. Under the condition of Mg in tension, the clad heat-treated at $300^{\circ}C$ and $400^{\circ}C$ fractured in two steps, with the first step associated with the interfacial fracture between Mg and Al, and the second the fracture of the Mg layer. STS/Al layers were found to be bent without complete fracture. Under the condition of STS in tension, the clad heat-treated at $300^{\circ}C$ and $400^{\circ}C$ exhibited a very small load drop at the displacement, which is similar to that of the first load drop associated with the interfacial fracture under the condition of Mg in tension. In this case, no interfacial cracks were found and the complete cut-through fracture of clad was observed at low temperature heat treatment conditions, suggesting excellent interfacial strength. When the heat treatment temperature was higher than $300^{\circ}C$, interfacial cracks were observed. The local stress condition and the position of the interface with respect to the surface were found to have a great influence on the fracture behaviors of clad metals.

고체 로켓 모터 유동-구조 연성 해석을 위한 침식연소 모델링 (Modeling of Erosive Burning for Fluid-Structure Integration Analysis of Solid Rocket Motor)

  • 본 논문에서는 고체 로켓 모터의 유동-구조 연성 해석을 위해서 추진제 침식 연소 모델링 및 영향인자에 대한 분석을 수행하였다. Lenoir & Robillard 모델식을 적용해 침식연소 현상을 예측하기 위해서 침식연소에 영향을 줄 수 있는 인자를 고려하여 침식연소 모사모터의 제작, 시험 및 분석을 수행하였다. 시험 결과 침식연소가 이루어짐을 확인하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 알루미늄 입자의 포함 여부, 특성 길이에 따른 침식연소 상수의 연관성, 추진제 초기 온도 영향성 등을 고려하여 침식연소 모델과 영향인자에 대해 분석하였다. 확보한 침식연소 모델을 적용하여 유동-구조 연성 해석을 수행하였으며, 시험 결과와 유사함을 확인하였다.

  • As a trend of lightening automobiles and electronic products, several studies are currently underway to replace parts of metals with resins. In particular, heterojunctions between metals and resins are now under the spotlight. This study aims to evaluate the variation in bonding strength with process conditions when the polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) polymer is bonded to a specimen of the lightweight 6061 aluminum alloy (AL6061). Conditions of the bonding surface of the AL6061 specimen, the temperature of the injection mold, and the content of the glass fiber were considered to be process variables. Bonded specimens were manufactured for different values of these variables. Bonding strength tests were then performed on these specimens and variations were analyzed in their characteristics corresponding to those of the process conditions. Fractures in these specimens were assessed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to assess the fracture surface. This was then used to analyze the fracture shape and determine whether anodizing the specimen led to the development of cracks on the joint surface. Results of the above test indicated that while the surface condition of the specimen and the temperature of the injection mold significantly influenced the strength of bonding, the content of the glass fiber did not.

  • 임상에서 사용하는 진단 검사 장치인 전산화 단층촬영기(CT)를 이용하여 Dicom 파일을 획득하였습니다. Dicom 파일과 3D 프로그램, 3D 프린터로 손가락 보조기(Finger brace)를 제작하였습니다. 손가락 보조기(Finger brace)는 인체를 대상으로 하기 때문에 형태의 정밀도가 매우 중요합니다. 3D Print는 정밀도가 우수하고, 재료가 다양하고, 출력 시간이 짧은 이점이 있습니다. 임상에서는 알루미늄 보호대나 의료기 업체의 손가락 보호대가 한정적입니다. 3D 프린터로 손가락 보조기(Finger brace)를 제작하면, 환자의 손가락 외상, 질병, 변형의 치료에 이용할 수 있는 정밀한 형태의 맞춤형 손가락 보조기(Finger brace)를 환자에게 적용할 수 있을 것이라고 기대합니다.

밀폐공간에서의 추진제 정전기 민감도에 대한 연구 (Research of Solid Propellant Electrostatic Sensitivity in Confinement)

  • 고체 로켓 추진기관을 생산, 취급하는 과정에서 추진제를 발화 시킬 수 있는 주요 원인은 작업자의 실수, 잘못된 작업방법, 기계적 결함, 충격, 마찰, 정전기, 누전 등이 있다. 과거 수십 년 동안 추진기관의 생산 취급과정에서 많은 사고가 발생되었으며, 사고조사 결과 특정 조건에서 정전기 민감도가 매우 높아진다는 사실이 확인되었다. 본 논문에서는 해외 사고사례를 분석하고 실제 공정을 고려한 밀폐 및 압력 하중이 가해지는 상황을 모사하여 정전기 민감도를 측정하였다. 시험결과 추진제의 밀폐 및 압력 하중 상황에서 민감도가 높아지며, 압력보다는 밀폐상황에서 추진제가 정전기에 더 민감하게 반응하는 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구를 통해 추진제 민감도 시험에 대한 시험 방식이 재설계되어야 한다고 판단되어 정전기, 압력, 마찰, 밀폐 조건을 동시에 모사할 수 있는 시험 장비 제작을 추진하게 되었다.
