다크투어리즘과 관광경험의 진정성 - 동일본대지진의 재난관광을 사례로 - (Authenticity in Dark Tourism : A Case of Disaster Tourism after the Great East Japan Earthquake)

  • 이 글은 다크투어리즘의 일환인 재난관광이 지닌 포스트모더니즘적 특성에 주목하여, 진정성 문제를 통해 이를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 지난 2011년 발생한 동일본대지진을 구체적 사례로 선정하여, 재난관광의 전개 과정을 분석하였다. 재난 직후, 관광의 영역은 해체되고 일시적으로 재해 공동체가 형성된다. 이후 사회공헌형 관광이 등장하는데, 이 속에서 게스트(관광객)와 호스트(현지주민)는 모두 삶과 죽음의 문제를 공유하게 되고, 실존적 진정성은 관광동기와 경험에서 핵심요소가 된다. 그러나 시간이 지나면서 실존적 진정성은 재해재건의 정치경제적 맥락 속에서 이데올로기적으로 재편되고, 구성적 진정성으로 대체됨으로써 반근대적 성찰에 기반한 대안관광이라는 재난관광의 가능성에 한계가 나타나게 된다. 재난관광의 상품화 이면에 존재하는 윤리적 이슈를 고찰하기 위해서는 재난관광을 진정성 및 포스트모더니즘의 대안관광 틀 속에서 고찰하는 실증연구가 지속되어야 할 것이다.

Searching for Comparative Value in Small and Medium-Sized Alternative Accommodation: A Synthesis Approach

  • In the contemporary era of smart tourism, travelers face more accommodation options than ever before. The rapid expansions of alternative accommodation sector are partially owing to the growth of electronic commerce and the rise of online intermediary platforms. Online travel agencies serve as a critical distribution channel for tourism sectors, and the significance is further increased for small and micro entrepreneurs whose direct communication channels are scarce. Considering the holistic process of customer experience started with a third-party online intermediary, this study explores basic and extended attributes of small and medium-sized alternative accommodation where the comparative value is created. In order to achieve the objective, a research design was developed to synthesize the qualitative evidence. The synthesis encompasses both theoretical and practical perspectives, from a systematic review and opinions of academic professionals to an in-depth interview with an industry expert and the current practices of online travel agencies. This study suggests that the sources of value creation for alternative accommodation are not always consistent with those of the traditional. Accounting for the temporal and spatial dynamics in customer experience, the findings of this study provide insights on the comparative value of alternative accommodation, to both academic and industry audiences.

  • This study intended to suggest Voluntourism as a solution for alternative rural tourism for regional activation. Voluntourism is a form of alternative tourism on values of variety of tourism demand from pleasure to virtue. This study analyzed actual state of WWOOF(World-Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) activities being operated in Korean rural village, one of representative of Voluntourism. Study aimed to explore the possibility of WWOOF activity as one of model of alternative rural tourism. We apply grounded theory method one of qualitative study methods for analysis of WWOOF Activities because WWOOF is still small activity in Korea. In result, we figure out the actual condition of WWOOF Korea activities as a vouluntourism through paradigm model of host and guest who had experience in WWOOF Korea. WWOOF activity is in its early stage so there many tasks. We suggested ideas for improving WWOOF activities to be one of new rural tourism business.

  • This study is made to link lip the policy analysis theory flame and practice concerning the analysis of railroad tourism resources development policy and propose an alternative to feasibility for railroad tourism resources development policy in general. The specific objectives to achieve the purpose of this research are as follow; First. In consideration of railroad tourism resources development policy and theory of policy analysis idea and goals, for analysis of railroad tourism resources development policy analysis are to be instituted more systematically. Second, the theory of railroad tourism resources development policy analysis will be made more systematic and use it as basis of the said analysis for further.

탈 의료화로서의 대체의학에 관한 논점 (An Arguing Point on the Alternative Medicine as a Withdrawal Medicine)

  • This study aimes to understand trends in alternative medicine use as new therapeutic ways to overcome the limits of western medicine, and is primarily concerned with function of alternative medicine to influence cancer theraphy in the United States after 1970s. Features of oriental medicine and western medicine through the comparison of Quantum medicine and Newton physics are pointed as the basic theory in alternative medicine. Homeopathic medicine, Chiro practice, Aroma theraphy, Transcendental meditation, Acupuncture is shortly is shortly introduced by alternative medicine use. The advantage of this study is to gain as follows : Firstly, To be recognized alternative function of cancer theraphy by Western nations including United States. Secondly, To understand the integrative program utilized as the alternative ways of cancer theraphy in the field. Thirdly, To understand side effects in alternative medicine use. :astly, To recommand marketing stratigies on alternative medicine services to develop Korean health tourism. In conclusion, it is increasingly emphasized that the importance of alternative medicine in relation to health promotion in the western nations. Western travelers expect that alternative medicine service is attractive and effective as the complementary function on incurable disease. Health tourism to experience alternative medicine services by travel will be expected one of the key industries in the future.

제주도를 방문한 대안관광객의 차별적 여행특성 규명 (Identification of Alternative Tourists' Distinctive Characteristics by Comparing with Mass Tourists in Jeju Island)

  • 이 연구는 제주도를 찾는 관광객을 대안관광객과 대중관광객으로 구분하고, 친환경여행에 대한 태도와 생태관광 관련 인식, 그리고 기타 여행특성을 이용하여 대안관광객의 차별적 특성을 규명하고자 하였다. 또한 생태관광도입이 추진되고 있는 제주시험림에 대한 제주관광객의 인지도와 시험림 방문의도를 조사하여 제주시험림이 대안관광의 한 대상지로 이용될 수 있을지의 가능성을 평가하고자 하였다. 연구결과 대안관광객은 대중관광객에 비해 보다 자연과 문화 지향적인 태도를 가지고 있으며, 생태관광 인지도와 참여의도가 높고, 제주시험림으로의 생태관광 참여의도 또한 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 대안관광객은 보다 능동적이며, 자연친화적인 활동 참여율 역시 상대적으로 높으며, 스스로를 문화 및 자연 지향적인 관광객으로 평가하였다. 대안관광객의 차별적 특성을 이해하고 이를 다양한 형태의 대안관광 개발 및 관리 계획에 반영하여 제주 대안관광시장의 지속가능성을 꾀할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

제주도 어촌관광 동기분석에 따른 관광활성화 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Strategics of Tourism Revitalization based on Motive of Tourist to Seaside Villages in Jeju Island)

  • Today, seaside village has been met with much difficulty from aggravation of fishing conditions including decrease of fishery resources, marine products market opening, reduction of coastal fishing ground. Thus, seaside village tourism can become an useful alternative to revitalize the local community. This study deals with on the tourism activities based on motive of tourist to Seaside Villages in Jeju Island. And it will be find out though the cross analysis of tourism motivation factors and tourism activities factors. With 298 effective responses gathered from an on-site survey. The statistical analysis of the data was conducted using techniques of frequency analysis, factor analysis, cluster analysis, and canonical analysis. The tourism motivation and activities were conformed by Chi-Square Analysis and ANOVA analysis. For the growth of seaside village, many tourist must visit four seasons and tourism facilities and programs will be develop as seaside village experience activities, marine leisure activities, and circumference inquiry activities.

녹색농촌 체험마을에 관한 조사연구 (A Survey Study on Green Tourism Village in Rural Area)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a actual conditions and expert's role on the green tourism in rural community. There are four types of green tourism in rural villages. It is an alternative tourism that has naturalism and sustainability, not mass tourism. I can find it is a one of the new rural development method in a point of view of rural people's income. Green tourism requires a participation of village peoples. So, management hang on not government office, but village people themselves. By surveying green tourism villages in the case of this study, I propose a few results as follow; firstly, green tourism of Korea will give an innovation to stagnant rural society. Secondly, rural people themselves must participate directly in development and guidance, when every programs are advanced. Thirdly, through this project of green tourism, we expect that urban and rural symbiosisically have a network.

Adaptation Strategy of Tourism Industry Stakeholders During the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Case Study in Indonesia

  • The objectives of this study are (1) to describe the changes in the tourism industry that have occurred due to COVID-19; (2) explain the adaptation strategies of tourism industry stakeholders to maintain the resilience of Tanjung Puting tourism destination during the COVID-19 pandemic, and (3) explain the government's strategy in supporting tourism industry stakeholders to maintain the sustainability of Tanjung Puting tourism destinations during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is qualitative research; data was collected through in-depth interviews and the collection of published documents or information related to the Tanjung Puting tourism destination. The data analysis technique used in this study was interactive analysis. The results of the study found that the COVID-19 pandemic caused the tourism industry to experience dormancy, tourism stakeholders who lost income, switched to other sectors and looked for other alternative jobs. Tourism workers are currently doing jobs outside the tourism sector to survive, but when tourism is running normally, will return to their main jobs. The strategy undertaken by the government is to build resilience at the meso level, focusing on tourism destinations. The findings of this study suggest that tourism industry players are required to be creative and innovative in facing this pandemic.

가치사슬 모형을 이용한 자원별 어촌관광 활성화 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Activating Blue Tourism by Value Chain Model)

  • Korean fisheries societies have had many difficulties for economic, social, and living circumstances. The government has tried many projects to improve these circumstances. But the results of the projects did not come up to his expectation. Recently, blue tourism is emerging as an alternative for improving these circumstances. So we applied a tourism value chain model for identifying what value activities and resources needed. According to the tourism value chain model, it was identified that there were six different value activities, i. e. advertising, reserving, moving, experiencing, returning, and after services of blue tourism. To identify which of the resources are sufficient or not in Korean blue tourism, we compared the required resources with actual ones. It was identified that Korean fisheries societies have so sufficient H/W related resources, but not IT related S/W resources, humanware-based resources, some industrial H/W resources and sociocultural resources. Therefore, Korean blue tourism will be activated, we have to concentrate our efforts on supplementing some scant blue tourism resources, i.e. S/W and humanware related resources and developing a variety of tourism programs to H/W resources. Generally, sustainable tourism needs all of S/W, H/W, and humanware resources. So we suggest several policies for the aspects of S/W, H/W, and humanware resources to activate blue tourism. But before carrying these policies out, they should be tested by field studies. And tourism motivations will be also studied because effective tourism marketing is impossible without an understanding of consumers' motivations.
