This study was to analyze factors of the body form and factors of bodice pattern through a surface developement figure for the tight bodice pattern design. Fifty replicas of the trunk surface were made by applying a surgical tape method of female subjects between 18 and 24 years old. The result was as follows: 1. The gaps between direct measurements and measurements of the surface development figure were regarded as allowances for the tight bodice pattern. 2. There are four factors of body form selected by factor analysis. The 1st factor signifies th degree of fatness in the upper body. The 2nd factor signifies the length of the upper body. The 3rd factor signifies the part of the front shoulder. The 4th factor signifies the part of the neck. 3. There are high correlations between center back line of the surface development figure and back length line side line front length line back neck depth back upper chest depth. There are high correlations between back bust line of the surface development figure and back interscye breadth line back upper chest line back armhole line. There are high correlations between front bust line of the surface development figure and front upper chest line front interscye breadth line front armhole line front neck breadth 4. The regression expressions of measurements of the surface development figure of the upper body were analyzed as(Fig. 3).
This study was aimed to investigate the nutritional status of 270 students of high school from September 5 to 10 in 1995, 재 are eating their lunch-box. This results were summarized as follows : The average height of boys and girls was 170.0$\pm$0.8cm and 155.8$\pm$1.4cm, respectively. The average weights of them were 60.5$\pm$0.3kg(male) and 48.5$\pm$0.7kg(female). BMI(Body Mass Index) of them were 20.15$\pm$0.13(male), 17.75$\pm$0.29(female). The weight of the staple of their lunch-box is 301~350g(38.7%, boys) and 200~250g(50.8%, girls). Among the subjects, 54.1% carry two dishes, and they eat 40 kind of side dishes, including kimchi usually cooked by roasting. The balanced diet based on the five basic food groups is almost impossible, especially they don't eat sufficiently protein food and calcium food. All the nutrients except vitamin A, C and niacin, are below the Recommended Daily Dietary Allowances for Koreans. The rate of calorie of carbohydrate : fat : protein is 81.5 : 9.5 : 11.5(boys) and 80.5 : 9.8 : 10.5(girls). The 78.0% of total amount of calorie was from carbohydrate.
This study was examined the nutritional conditions of 250 students of middle school from March 5 to 8 in 1993, who are eating their lunch-box. This results were summarized as follows; The average height of the boy students is 156.9 cm. It is 98.6% of the standard height of middle school students. That of the girl students is 153.1 cm. It is 98.7% of the standard height of middle school students. The average weight of the boys is 49.3 kg (98.6% of the standard) and that of the girls is 45.9 kg (95.6% of the standard). The average weight of the staple of their lunch-box is 480 g (boys) and 349.5 g (girls). Among the subjects, 58.8% carry two side dishes, and they eat 36 kinds of side dishes, including kimchi usually cooked by roasting. The balanced diet based on the five basic food groups is almost impossible, especially they don't eat sufficiently protein food and calcium food. All the nutrients except Vitamin A, C and Niacin, are below the Recommended Daily Dietary Allowances for Koreans. The rate of calorie of carbohydrate: fat: protein is 80.5:8. 4:11.1 (boys) and 79.3:9.9:10.8 (girls). The 80% of total amount of calorie was from carbohydrate.
The influence of feed allowance on intake and nutrient utilization by Barbari goats given green maize (Zea mays) and potential feeding value of left-overs were studied. The goats were offered food at 3 levels to give left-overs of about 20% (T-1), 35% (T-2) and 50% (T-3) DM of offered amount. A marked effect of refusal rate on intake and digestibility of nutrients was found. The DMI, g/kg $W^{0.75}$ increased from 39.86 in T-1 to 50.91 and 66.55 g in groups T-2 and T-3, respectively. Allowing selective consumption at higher levels (T-2 and T-3), the intake of TDN and DCP from green maize was found not only to meet the maintenance requirement but provided surplus energy and protein for substantial production. The variability in diet selectivity between goats under different treatments was pronounced. As the level of food excess increased to T-3, the left overs had a higher IVDMD and crude protein and decreased cell wall constituents (p<0.05). Considering the substantial increase in intake and digestibility from feeding green maize at high allowances to goats, further studies are needed to develop practical feeding strategies.
This study was conducted to investigate the influence of different nutrient databases in estimating nutrient intake. A nutrient survey with Food Frequency Questionnaire containing 65 food items was conducted with 2,426 subjects over 30 years of age living in Yeonchon-gun, Kyungki province. The nutrient intakes were first estimated by using one (A) nutrient database which was based on the Korean Food Composition Table, 4th edition. With the other (B) nutrient database which was based on the Korean RDA(Recommended Dietary Allowances) 6th edition, it was reestimated and two resu1ts were compared. For most nutrients except carbohydrate, calcium, vitamin C and $eta$-carotene, mean nutrient intake level estimated from database B was significantly higher than that from database A(p<0.05). Mean intake level of most nutrients from two databases were significantly correlated by Pearson's correlation coefficients(p<0.001). Results from the ranking of nutrient intake levels of the subjects by two databases were highly correlated ( P >0.9, p<0.001). Weighted kappa values representing measures of agreement ranged from 0.55 databases ranged from 45% for vitamin C to 96% for carbohydrate. This result implies that different nutrient database may produce substantial differences in estimating the absolute nutrient intake but may not be crucial in ranking or classifying individuals with regard to specific nutrient intake.
This study was undertaken to investigate dietary status, food habits, and nutritional knowledge of university students majoring in judo (n=239) and to evaluate the effect of dietary behavior on their athletic activities. Mean daily dietary intakes (3,854.0 kcal) were similar to mean daily energy consumptions (3,975.5 kcal). Average daily intakes of most vitamins and minerals were higher than Korean Recommended Dietary Allowances except for the intake of vitamin A. Self-confidence on judo affected dietary behavior of the subjects: Subjects who had more self-confidence on judo showed more interest in good nutrition and concerned more about foods which could promote their athletic activities. Many side effects were manifested after sudden weight control for judo competition during school days. Therefore, it is suggested that good education on nutrition is necessary not only for athletic students, but also for coaches and trainers of the students. Ten weeks of education on nutrition significantly improved both food habits and nutritional knowledge of the subjects. Food habits were positively correlated with self-confidence on judo. Therefore, it is suggested that improvement of food habits through good education on nutrition would be helpful to improve athletic activities of the students.

This paper describes a research work of developing a computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD-CAM) of irregular shaped sheet metal product for blanking or piercing and bending operation. An approach to the system is based on the knowledge-based rules. Knowledge for the system is formulated form plasticity theories, experimental results and the empirical knowledge of field experts. This system has been written in AutoLIST on the AutoCAD and in customer tool kit on the SmartCAM with a personal computer and is composed of nine modules. the system is designed by considering several factors, such as material and thickness of product, complexities of blank geometry and punch profile, diameter and material of a wire, and availability of press. This system is capable of unfolding a formed sheet metal to give flat pattern and automatically account for the adjustment of bending allowances to match tooling requirements by checking dimensions and generating NC data automatically according to drawings of die-layout module. Results carried out in each module will provide efficiencies to the designer and the manufacture of blanking or piercing and bending die in this field.

This purpose of this study was to investigate the nutrient intake, the health status as determined self-assessment checklist, biochemical indicators of elderly Korean women. We interviewed and 55 female subjects living alone in the Urban aged over 65 years. Information on their dietary intake was collected by 24-hour Recall method. Their health status was determined by a NSI checklist. Biochemical indicators were performed in whole blood and plasma of subjects. Except for protein, Fe, all of the elderly subjects belonged to over moderate nutritional risk. The average daily nutrient intake of the elderly was below the level of the recommended dietary allowances (RDA) for Koreans. A relationship between their health risk score and nutrient intake was observed negatively (not significantly). They had a risk of anemia as hemoglobin and hematocrit of subjects were under the normal value. Therefore, the reason that health risk score and health status badly was thought for lower nutrient intake.
This study was conducted with 20 female gymnasts and 23 age-matched controls to examine pattern, weight control behavior and nutritional status. Most gymnasts(95.0%) reported that they used weight-control methods, while relatively few age-matched controls employed these methods. These methods included sauna(95.0%), food restriction(90.0%), excess exercise (70.0%), laxative abuse(10%) and use of diet pills(10%). Gymnasts had significantly (p<0.05) lower scores for statements related to 'sneaking food', 'vomiting after overeating', showing more negative eating behavior than age-matched controls. Energy intake of gymnasts was 968.9$\pm$421.4kcal while energy expenditure was 2,091$\pm$361kcal, showing negative evergy balance(-1,1225$\pm$534.6kcal). Female gymnasts consumed less than 70% of the RDA for protein, calcium, iron, vitamin A, thiamin, riboflavin and niacin, which reflects their low energy intake. The average intakes of calcium, iron, vitamin A, thiamin, riboflavin and niacin did not meet the recommended dietary allowances for their age groups. Adolescent athletes who train vigorously and consume a low-energy diet may be exposed to an increase in potential health risks. Therefore, individuals who advise athletic adolescents regarding training and dietary habits need to emphasize the importance of consuming an appropriate energy intake to support performance as well as growth and development. The sports nutritionist is in a position to convey such information to coaches, physicians, parents and to the athletes themselves.
The purpose of this study is to computerize all the necessary information on the daily food value and nutritional status for individuals and groups. In this research, a FOCUS-16jXT (16 bit personal computer ) compatible with IBM-PCjXT was used, and the database files and programs were created by using the dBASEIII package. The food life evaluation system consists of 3 subsystems of Reference, Nutrition Status Assessment and Food Source. The findings are summerized a8 follows: 1. Reference: This subsystem enables users to proceed to the next step, if necessary, by describing each subsystem. 2. Nutrition Status Assessment. 1) Food Habit Assessment: This subsystem determines whether the user has a good food habit or not, based on the answers for ten questions about daily food life. 2) Obesity Assessment: This subsystem calculates Broca index, which is used as a indicator of obesity. 3) Nutrient Intakes: When personal data such as age, sex, weight, height and food consumptions are input, it is possible to calculate the followings. i) Comparison between the amounts intaked and the recommended dietary daily allowances of various nutrients ii) Nutrient intakes from each food group and their composition rates for the nutrients iii) Nutrient intakes per unit body surface area iv) Composition of lipid intake 3. Food Sources: The appropriate food sources for the lacking nutrients will be recommended to the subjects.
