The role of airports in the metropolitan area in Korea is very important which is located on the center of Northeast Asia considered as the highest potential growth continent in the world air transport market. This study includes comparison on service quality between Gimpo Airport and Incheon Airport which are indicated as multi-airport system in the metropolitan area appraised by passengers from Korea, Japan and China, and analysis on primary factors of airport service which affect the customer satisfaction and loyalty. The service quality appraised in the order of Chinese, Korean, and Japanese and the analysis result indicated that the service quality factors which influence on customer satisfaction and loyalty were all different among passengers from three countries. Information service was the priority factor for customer satisfaction to Chinese and Korean, but Japanese considered that personal service was the most important factor. This research paper tried to provide many current issues and guides to operational strategy including plan for the specialized routes of multi-airport system in domestic metropolitan area.

The new concept of level of service for the airport system indicates that there must be strong stimulation to proceed with the current stereotyped service standards which are being criticised due to their being based on, either physical capacity/volume or temporal/spatial standards that directly incorporates the perception of passengers. Quantitative factors have been dealt with the main service measurements when evaluating level of service. However, the passenger's perception for the provision service at the airport system is definitely important consideration to assess level of service. To enhance the reliability of service level evaluation from the passenger's point of view, this study has adopted three main evaluation factors ; temporal/spatial factors as quantitative measurements and comfort and reasonable service factors as qualitative measurements. The multi-decision model was constructed using Fuzzy Set Theory and applied to a case study at Seoul Kimpo International Airport. Results are presented in terms of passenger satisfaction with a variety of different values.

Airport GIS는 공항의 안전과 효율성 향상을 기할 수 있는 종합정보시스템이다. 이에 국내 외 현황 및 관련 규정.표준화 정보를 검토하고, Test-bed인 김포공항에 대한 현황 및 요구분석을 통해 서비스 모델 도출 및 기초설계를 하여 Airport GIS에 대한 도입방안을 제시하였다. 우선적으로 도입될 6개 서비스 모델은 1) Airside 지역 이동체 안전관리, 2) 항공기-차량간 주요 교차지점 지능형 신호제어, 3) 이동지역 이물질, 포장면 파손 대응 능동형 안전관리, 4) 제방빙(Deicing) 등 특수지원 차량 원격관리, 5) 비상 상황시 소방 및 구급차량 등 외부 협정기관 대응 및 지원, 6) 공항 전력시설 등 필수지원시설 상황인식 능력 강화 및 대응으로 향후 이에 대한 상세설계 및 통합시스템 구축연구를 진행할 예정이다.

Purpose : In the aviation industry, we will investigate the impact of users' acceptance of technology on their usage behavior and find out the factors that affect their acceptance of technology. We will expand the prior study to find out the impact of the self-service technology of Incheon Airport. Research design, data and methodology : Within the last six months, the survey was conducted on people using self-service technology at Incheon International Airport from July to August 2019. Part 307 of the valid questionnaires were used for this final analysis. The collected data were used to perform frequency, factor, reliability, and multiple regression analyses using the SPSS statistical package. Results : Individual aspects of external variables, service aspects and system aspects have been shown to affect usefulness and perceived ease of use. Also, perceived ease-of-use and usefulness have effects on users' intention to accept technology. Conclusions : The perceived easement and perceived usefulness of Incheon International Airport has been shown to affect self-service users. Increasing the user's self-efficiency and increasing the user's expectations for benefits, convenience, rapid processing, and minimal effort will have a positive meaningful effect on the intention of accepting the technology.

전 세계적으로 급속하게 증가하는 항공교통량으로 인해 ICAO는 기존의 항행장비를 위성항법 기반으로 대체해 나가고 있으며, 이의 일환으로 기존의 ILS를 이용한 이착륙 서비스를 GBAS 로 대체할 계획을 수립 하였다. GBAS는 활주로까지 항공기를 유도하는 정밀 접근 서비스와 공항 주위의 정밀위치정보 서비스를 제공하는 위성항법 보강시스템을 이용하여 ILS와 달리 한 개의 시스템으로 활주로의 수에 관계없이 요구 성능을 제공할 수 있으며 curved approach가 가능하다는 장점을 보유하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 태안비행장 비행시험을 통한 ILS접근 절차와 GBAS curved approach절차를 비교하여 비행시간 단축 및 연료 감소효과를 분석하였으며 실제 비행시험을 통하여 이를 측정 확인 하였다.

As supply chains are globalized, multinational companies are trying to optimize distribution networks using a hub and spoke structure. In this hub and spoke network structure, multinational companies locate regional distribution centers at hub airports, which serve demands in their corresponding regions. Especially when customers put higher priority on the service lead-time, hinterlands of international hub airports become ideal candidate locations for the regional hub distribution centers. By utilizing excellent airport and logistics services from hub airports, regional distribution centers in the hub airports can match supply with demand efficiently. In addition, regional hub distribution centers may increase air cargo volume of each airport, which is helpful in the current extremely competitive airport industry. In this paper, we classified locational preferences into three primary categories including demand, service and risk and applied the analytic hierarchy process methodology to prioritize factors of locational preferences. Primary preference factors include secondary factors. Demand factor contains access to current and prospect markets. Service factor comprises airport and logistics perspectives. Service factor in terms of airport operations includes secondary factors such as airport service and connectivity. Service factor in terms of logistics operations contains infrastructure and logistics operations efficiency. Risk factor consists of country and business risks. We also evaluated competitiveness of Asian hub airports in terms of candidate location for regional hub distribution centers. The candidate hub airports include Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Narita and Incheon. Based on the analytic hierarchy process analysis, we derived strategic implications for hub airports to attract multinational companies' regional hub distribution centers.

The development of Airside Vehicle Control System(AVCS) at Gimpo Airport aims to reduce ground safety accidents in movement area and improve airport operation efficiency and safety management service quality. The vehicle is controlled by a brake controller RTK-antenna and On-Board Diagonostics(OBD) module. Location data is transmitted to a nearby communication base station through a Wi-Fi router and the base station is connected to the AVCS by an optical cable to transmit location data from each vehicle. The vehicle position is precisely corrected to display information using the system. The system allows airport operators to view registered information on aircraft and vehicles and monitor their locations speeds and directions in real time. When a vehicle approaches a dangerous area alarm warnings and remote brake control are possible to prevent accidents caused by carelessness of the driver in advance.

Continued efforts to build up Safety Management System(SMS) and to improve its efficiency in airports, to which customers have direct access, are taken for granted due to continuous development of the aviation industry in both quantity and quality and rapid growth of air transportation market. This thesis proposed efficient operation methods of SMS for domestic airport organizations including Incheon International Airport(IIA), the largest airport in South Korea, aiming at strengthening aviation safety from the perspective of airport operators who play a pivotal role in service provider SMS. Those are consolidation of the existing safety management organizations and various improvements to promote voluntary incident reporting system. To draw a proposal for the improvements, conducted a research on domestic safety management status, carried out an analysis on operating conditions and did a research on ICAO regulations, domestic legal system as well as statistics data. Relevant studies and researches were also gathered and analyzed. A search for further improvements can also help increase operational efficiency and promoting a higher-level of safety awareness among operators can establish mature safety culture at airports.

At a passenger terminal which is a core facility of a large-scale airport, users are not easy to recognize its space and to approach each facility by composition of large-scale space not recognized at a glance and arrangement of complicated functional space. Such a passenger terminal should be designed by putting a focus on functionality, safety and convenience since diverse passengers use it. At a passenger terminal, a lot of passengers' circulation followed by diverse purpose appear. Therefore, it needs a lot of functional space and space to satisfy passengers' demands. When circulation is planed, it should be designed by a systematic standard. The study was carried out on the basis of international airports, considering features and functions of airport circulation system. In kind of circulation in passenger terminal of an airport, there are user's circulation (passenger's circulation, employee's circulation and service circulation) and baggage circulation. The study examined passenger's circulation which was a major circulation of passenger terminal out of user's circulation. The study examined elements which had an effect on circulation system at a large-scale airport passenger terminal and basic data for an efficient circulation system standard of passenger terminal through case analysis of passenger terminal circulation systems at international airports.

There is concern about the increased risk of accidents from manual investments due to ground handling service operators, aging equipment and manpower shortages. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the quality of ground treatment services and safety management at the airport. Therefore, this study analyzed the domestic and overseas ground operation status and the license handling procedure of aircraft handling business. In addition, a case study on the evaluation system of international organizations examined the applicability of the certification body to the Korean situation. It is practical in that it provides policy implications for improving the quality of groundwork not covered in previous studies. This is expected to improve the constitution, improve quality, improve airport operations, and operate safely.
