WRF-CMAQ 모델링 시스템을 활용한 PM2.5 농도변동 원인 분석: 2016년과 2017년의 가을철을 중심으로 (Analysis of the Changesin PM2.5 Concentrations using WRF-CMAQ Modeling System: Focusing on the Fall in 2016 and 2017)

  • 본 연구에서는 지상 기상 및 $PM_{2.5}$ 농도, GOCI 위성의 AOD 등 다양한 관측 자료와 WRF-CMAQ 모델링을 통해 2016년과 2017년의 우리나라 가을철 $PM_{2.5}$ 농도변화 원인을 분석하였다. 지상에서 관측된 2017년 전국 평균 $PM_{2.5}$ 농도는 2016년에 비해 약 12.3% ($3.0{\mu}g/m^3$) 감소한 것으로 나타났다. 두 해간 $PM_{2.5}$ 농도 차이는 10월과 11월의 두 사례(사례1: 10월 11일~10월 20일, 사례2: 11월 15일~19일) 기간에 주로 발생하였으며, 2017년의 기상조건이 2016년에 비하여 국외로부터 대기오염물질의 장거리 수송이 어렵고, 국내의 대기환기 효과를 증가시키는 방향으로 변화한 것이 주요한 원인으로 분석되었다. WRF-CMAQ 모델링 시스템을 이용하여 기상조건 변화가 $PM_{2.5}$ 농도에 미치는 정량적인 영향을 평가한 결과, $PM_{2.5}$ 모의농도는 2016년 대비 2017년의 사례1 기간에는 64.0% ($23.1{\mu}g/m^3$) 감소, 사례2 기간에는 35.7% ($12.2{\mu}g/m^3$) 감소한 것으로 나타나, 관측 농도 기반 감소율인 53.6% (사례1)와 47.8% (사례2)에 상응하는 감소율을 보였다. 따라서 기상조건 변화가 우리나라 가을철 $PM_{2.5}$ 농도 변화에 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 기상조건 변화로 인한 우리나라 $PM_{2.5}$ 농도 감소에 미친 국내외 기여율은 사례1 기간에 국외로부터의 장거리 수송영향이 52.8% 그리고 대기환기 효과에 따른 국내영향이 47.2% 로 국내외 영향이 유사하게 나타나지만, 사례2 기간에는 국외영향이 66.4% 그리고 국내영향이 33.6%로서 국외영향의 감소효과가 더 크게 나타났다.

  • This study is aimed to estimate the $PM_{2.5}$ source apportionment at Seoul intensive monitoring site located in Seoul metropolitan area. Time-resolved chemical compositions of $PM_{2.5}$ are measured in real time using ambient ion monitor, semi-continuous carbon monitor, and on-line XRF at Seoul intensive monitoring site in 2010. The mass concentration of $PM_{2.5}$ was simultaneously monitored with eight ionic species (${SO_4}^{2-}$, $NO_3{^-}$, $Cl^-$, $NH_4{^+}$, $Na^+$, $K^+$, $Mg^{2+}$, $Ca^{2+}$), two carbonaceous species (OC and EC), and fourteen elements (Si, K, Ca, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Zn, As, Se, Pb) in 1-hr interval. The data sets were then analyzed using EPA PMF version 3 to identify sources and contributions to $PM_{2.5}$ mass. EPA PMF modeling identified eight PM2.5 sources, including soil dust, secondary sulfate, secondary nitrate, motor vehicle, coal combustion, oil combustion, biomass burning, and municipal incineration. This study found that the average $PM_{2.5}$ mass was apportioned to anthropogenic sources such as motor vehicle, fuel combustion, and biomass burning (61%) and secondary aerosols, including sulfate and nitrate (38%).

지하주거의 실내공기환경 실태조사와 CO2 조절기 및 타이머에 의한 환기팬 자동운전에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Actual Conditions of Indoor Air Quality of Underground Dwellings and the Automatic Ventilating Fan Operated by CO2 Controller and Timer)

  • The rapid urbanization after 1970s caused the shortage of dwellings in urban areas. As the result, the underground dwellings were developed to compensate for the insufficient dwelling spaces. While the underground dwellings have some advantage in the respect of thermal and acoustic environment, they usually have the basic problems in the indoor air quality because of the lack of natural ventilation through small window areas. The purpose of this study is to investigate and to improve the indoor air quality of underground dwellings. Thirty Units in Seoul and Gyung-Gi Province were investigated into the indoor environmental conditions. For the purpose of the improvement of their indoor air quality, Automatically-operated ventilating fan was installed in a sample unit which has worst indoor environmental condition. Then the indoor air quality was monitored when it was operated by $CO_2$ control system and timer. Finally economic feasibility study was made considering the effect of the improvement of indoor air quality. The extra cost for installing timer could be paid back only in 10 months, so timer-installed automatic fan is recommended to improve the indoor air quality of underground dwellings.

Development of IoT based Real-Time Complex Sensor Board for Managing Air Quality in Buildings

  • Efforts to reduce damages from micro dust and harmful gases in life have been led by national or local governments, and information on air quality has been provided along with real-time weather forecast through TV and internet. It is not enough to provide information on the individual indoor space consumed. So in this paper, we propose a IoT-based Real-Time Air Quality Sensing Board Corresponding Fine Particle for Air Quality Management in Buildings. Proposed board is easy to install and can be placed in the right place. In the proposed board, the air quality (level of pollution level) in the indoor space (inside the building) is easy and it is possible to recognize the changed indoor air pollution situation and provide countermeasures. According to the advantages of proposed system, it is possible to provide useful information by linking information about the overall indoor space where at least one representative point is located. In this paper, we compare the performance of the proposed board with the existing air quality measurement equipment.

수도권 대기환경 개선사업-진단과 제언 (Critical Evaluation of and Suggestions for a Comprehensive Project Based on the Special Act on Seoul Metropolitan Air Quality Improvement)

  • On January 1, 2005, the Korean Ministry of Environment put into operation a comprehensive program, so called 'Blue Sky 21' project, for the improvement of air quality in greater Seoul metropolitan area. This program was legally based on the 'Special Act on Metropolitan Air Quality Improvement' for Greater Seoul area, which was established in 2003, and should be updated every 10 years. The principal objective of this program is to improve the air quality in Seoul and surrounding area by 2014 to the levels of air quality in Tokyo and Paris, with particular emphases on reducing the concentrations of nitrogen dioxide and $PM_{10}$. Any regulation of the emission of toxic air pollutants in general, and $NO_2$ and $PM_{10}$ in particular, should be based on human exposure levels and consequential health effects. In this article, the contents and feasibility of the special program were critically evaluated with respect to the reduction of health risks. Important issues for improving not only air quality but public health are discussed, and future requirements for the success of the special program are suggested.

수도권 지하철 지하역사의 실내공기질 연구 (Study on the Air Quality of Metropolitan Subway Stations)

  • Recently, people's rising interests toward a 'well-being' lifestyle together with research contributions are accelerating the concerns regarding indoor air pollution making indoor air quality management an emerging environmental challenge of the era. The Ministry of Environment began to regulate the air quality of railway stations last year. The newly established 'Indoor Air Quality Act' covers 17 facilities whereas only underground subway stations and underground markets were regulated by previous 'Underground Air Quality Management Act' of 1996. In this study, we carried out the measurement of temperature, relative humidity, CO(carbon monooxide), $CO_2$(carbon dioxide), HCHO(formaldehyde), PM-10(particulate matters), and VOCs(volatile organic compounds) in underground subway stations. Based on the obtained results, we will suggest a way to improve the indoor air quality of the subway stations.

KTX 객실내 공기청정도 측정 (The Measurement of the Indoor Air Quality in KTX Train)

  • Indoor air quality is an important determinant of human health and comfort. However, the complexity of pollution sources and the multitude of parties responsible for creating indoor exposures makes the improvement of air quality difficult. The KTX HVAC(Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning) system is important facility to provide comfortable environment passenger service. The Ministry of Environment is planning to enforce$\square\square$Indoor Air Quality Management law in Public Facilities$\square\square$in year 2008. Hereupon, the train and the subway are included. In this research air quality in the KTX Train compartment has measured. As a result, The average amounts of PM10(particulate matters), $CO_2$(carbon dioxide)measured $20{\mu}g/m^3$, 1,097ppm in KTX respectively. There are compare to regulation the value is 10% for PM10 and 43% for $CO_2$. Thus, the indoor air quality of KTX train have been proved satisfy the recommendation the Ministry of Environment guidelines.

항공사 서비스 품질 측정방법의 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study of Measuring Air Liners′ Service Quality)

  • There have been academic debates upon which measure is more desirable in measuring service qualify between SERVQUAL and SERVPERF. In addition, Korean air lines industry is rapidly growing due to the increase of Koren family income and globalization. This study tried to contribute to both academic and practical issues. This study compared SERVQUAL and SERVPERF measures to determine which is superior to measure service quality in Korean air lines industry. Data was collected from two airliners' customers of Korea. According to the results of confirmatory factor analyses, regression analyses and analyses of goodness of fit, SERVPERF appears to be better in measuring service quality in Korean air lines industry than SERVQUAL. We suggest that SERVPERF be used to measure service quality in Korean air lines industry.

효율적인 대기정책 마련을 위한 대기질 모델 활용방안 고찰: 노후 석탄화력발전소 가동중지에 따른 충남지역 PM2.5 저감효과 분석을 중심으로 (A Study on the Utilization of Air Quality Model to Establish Efficient Air Policies: Focusing on the Improvement Effect of PM2.5 in Chungcheongnam-do due to Coal-fired Power Plants Shutdown)

  • In order to develop effective emission abatement strategies for coal-fired power plants, we analyzed the shutdown effects of coal-fired power plants on $PM_{2.5}$ concentration in June by employing air quality model for the period from 2013 to 2016. WRF (Weather Research and Forecast) and CMAQ(Community Multiscale Air Quality) models were used to quantify the impact of emission reductions on the averaged $PM_{2.5}$ concentrations in June over Chungcheongnam-do area in Korea. The resultant shutdown effects showed that the averaged $PM_{2.5}$ concentration in June decreased by 1.2% in Chungcheongnam-do area and decreased by 2.3% in the area where the surface air pollution measuring stations were located. As a result of this study, it was confirmed that it is possible to analyze policy effects considering the change of meteorology and emission and it is possible to quantitatively estimate the influence at the maximum impact region by utilizing the air quality model. The results of this study are expected to be useful as a basic data for analyzing the effect of $PM_{2.5}$ concentration change according to future emission changes.

위해성을 고려한 대기오염물질의 관리 방향 (Direction for the management of air pollutants based on health risk in Korea)

  • Policy direction for the management of air quality in Korea has been on the reduction of the average concentrations of the criteria air pollutants such as sulfur dioxide and fine particles. However, recently, risk based management of air pollutants becomes an important issue. In this study, to develop an effective air quality management policy direction in Korea, (1) the fourth Multiple Air Toxics Exposure Study (MATES IV) carried out in the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SQAQMD) in the USA is reviewed and (2) the results are compared with in these in Seoul and (3) policy directions are suggested. It was found that (1) systematic integrated study comprising of measurement, modeling, emission inventory estimation, and risk assessment was essential to estimate the health risk of air pollutants reliably, (2) cancer risk of diesel particle was dominant over other air pollutants, and (3) health risk based emissions were different from amount based emissions. It was suggested that (1) reducing the exposure from hot spots might important to reduce health risk from air pollutants and (2) an integrated air quality management administration system is important for the efficient management of air pollution.
