Micro-shear bond strengths of resin-matrix ceramics subjected to different surface conditioning strategies with or without coupling agent application

  • Purpose. This study aimed to assess the influence of various micromechanical surface conditioning (MSC) strategies with or without coupling agent (silane) application on the micro-shear bond strength (µSBS) of resin- matrix ceramics (RMCs). Materials and Methods. GC Cerasmart (GC), Lava Ultimate (LU), Vita Enamic (VE), Voco Grandio (VG), and Brilliant Crios (BC) were cut into 1.0-mm-thick slices (n = 32 per RMC) and separated into four groups according to the MSC strategy applied: control-no conditioning (C), air-borne particle abrasion with aluminum oxide particles (APA), 2W- and 3W-Er,Cr:YSGG group coding is missing. The specimens in each group were further separated into silane-applied and silane-free subgroups. Each specimen received two resin cement microtubules (n = 8 per subgroup). A shear force was applied to the adhesive interface through a universal test machine and µSBS values were measured. Data were statistically analyzed by using 3-way ANOVA and Tukey HSD test. Failure patterns were scrutinized under stereomicroscope. Results. RMC material type, MSC strategy, and silanization influenced the µSBS values (P<.05). In comparison to the control group, µSBS values increased after all other MSC strategies (P<.05) while the differences among these strategies were insignificant (P>.05). For control and APA, there were insignificant differences between RMCs (P>.05). The silanization decreased µSBS values of RMCs except for VE. Considerable declines were observed in GC and BC (P<.05). Conclusion. MSC strategies can enhance bond strength values at the RMC - cement interface. However, the choice of MSC strategy is dependent on RMC material type and each RMC can require a dedicated way of conditioning.

치과용 복합레진으로 수리된 CAD-CAM hybrid 수복물의 전단결합강도 (Shear bond strength of dental CAD-CAM hybrid restorative materials repaired with composite resin)

  • 목적: 본 연구에서는 치과용 CAD-CAM (computer aided design-computer aided manufacturing) hybrid 수복재료인 LAVA Ultimate와 VITA ENAMIC을 광중합 복합레진을 사용하여 수리할 때 표면처리방법(grinding, air abrasion with aluminum oxide, HF acid)과 접착재료(Adper Single Bond 2, Single Bond Universal)의 종류가 두 재료 사이의 전단결합강도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 하였다. 재료 및 방법: LAVA Ultimate와 VITA ENAMIC 시편을 30일간 $37^{\circ}C$의 인공타액(Xerova solution)에 보관하여 시효처리를 실시한 후 각각 SiC paper grinding한 것, grinding 후 air abrasion처리를 추가한 것, grinding 후 HF 처리한 것으로 분류하고 각각 no bonding, Adper Single Bond 2, 또는, Single Bond Universal 도포로 세분하여 9개의 group, 총 18개의 subgroup으로 나누어 실험을 실시하였다(N=10). HF 처리group에서는 도재시편을 대조군으로 추가하였다(N=10). 표면 처리 후 광중합 복합레진(Filtek Z250)을 각각의 시편에 부착하고 이를 1주일간 실온의 물에 침적시켰고 이후 전단결합강도를 측정하고 파절양상 및 표면처리 효과를 SEM으로 확인하였다. One-way ANOVA를 이용하여 group 간의 유의성을 분석하였고 사후 분석으로 Scheffe test를 실시하였다(${\alpha}=.05$). 결과: 실험 결과 접착재료 처리를 한 group들이 접착재료 처리를 하지 않은 group에 비해 모든 표면처리에서 더 높은 전단결합력을 나타내었으며, 표면처리만 시행한 group에서는 aluminum oxide air abrasion이 전단결합력의 증가에 약간의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나 통계적 유의성은 보이지 않았다. 결론: LAVA Ultimate와 VITA ENAMIC의 두 재료를 광중합 복합레진을 이용하여 수리를 실시할 경우 각각의 재료에 적합한 표면처리방법과 접착재료의 선택에 대한 연구가 더 필요할 것으로 사료된다. 특히 LAVA Ultimate의 경우 접착재료의 사용은 추천된다고 사료되었다.

Cotton Double Velvet의 Pile 보지성에 관한 특성 (A Study on the Pile Fastness of the Cotton Double Velvet)

  • We selected four kinds of cotton velvet and chafed before and after cleaning, then in accordance with abrasion times we measured of pile exclusion rate and examined the relationship of the pile exclusion rate, its thickness and the air permeability. An experimental study was carried out the pile weave construction, the density, the yarn to yarn, the shrinkage, and the pile substantiality. The results were as follows: 1. In accordance with increments of shrinkage phenomenon of pile fabric for cleaning process, pile exclusion rate was decreased. 2. The ground weave of pile fabric and the yarn to yarn of warp and weft direction were affected by the pile exclusion. 3. It is linear of pile substantiality of pile fabric and pile fastness. 4. In estimation of pile exclusion rate, it is proper to make use of air permeability and measuring value of thickness.

  • The existing compressor steel seal used in automotive air-conditioner has the problem of oil leakage and the deterioration in shielding performance, due to the abrasion and the corrosion of the material. A new type of polymer resin seal is studied in the research. The polymer resin seal has the characteristics of high anti-abrasiveness and anti-corrosiveness, which can overcome the deflects of the steel seal. In addition, the seal needs lower manufacturing cost and is appropriate to mass production, because it is made by the injection molding method requiring no mechanical processing. The profile generation program for seal mold has been developed using the gradient method, and the molding characteristics of the seal have analyzed through the flow analysis and the warpage analysis. The program has been verified by comparing the analysis results with the measured data of the test product. The research might be said to provide the basic method to produce the polymer resin seals with various types and dimensions.

  • Consumer consider the purpose for which they plan to use clothes when they purchase it, and the socks in textile products is evaluated in the same way. serviceability is judged by the extent to which the socks will be useful for its intended purpose. It should retain its original shape and size, good air permeability, good absorbency, good abrasion resistance, high fastness etc. Owing to importance of serviceability in socks, in this paper, these end-use requirement characteristics were tested. The results obtained were as follows: 1. Blend ratios were different between the indicated fiber contents on labels and the testing ones. 2. Air permeability was higher in the samples which contain less stitch density, and hydroscopicity was higher in those which contain natural fibers such as cotton and wool. 3. Shrinkage depended on the blend ratios of cotton and wool, and elastic recovery was better in the course direction than in the wale direction. 4. Pilling was conspicuous in the synthetic fibers such as polyester and nylon, and fastness of laundering and perspiration was higher in the fading grade than in the staining grade.

비디오 흉강경을 이용한 자연기흉 수술에서 기계적 흉막유착술의 효과 -기계적 흉막유착술의 강도에 따른 단기 재발율의 비교- (Efficacy of mechanical pleurodesis for the treatment of spontaneous pneumothorax with VATS - A comparison of short-term recurrence according to the intensities of pleural abrasion -)

  • 연구배경 : 흉강경의 출현으로 인하여 개흉술보다는 덜 침습적인 기포절제술과 흉막유착술에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 그러나 흉강경수술은 개흉술에 비하여 높은 재발율을 보이며 이는 부적절한 흉막유착술의 결과 때문이라고 여겨진다. 재료 및 방법 : 저자들은 1996년 4월에서 1997년 8월 사이에 자연기흉으로 흉강경수술을 받은 62예의 환자에 있어서 흉막찰과의 강도에 따른 단기 재발율을 비교하고자 하였다. 환자는 내시경감자기구로 거즈를 집어서 벽측흉막에 점상출혈을 유발할 정도의 약한 흉막찰과를 시행한 군(A군, 32예)과 고식적인 수술기구(대동맥감자)의 끝에 거즈를 단단히 감아서 흉막에 적당한 열상과 출혈을 유발할 정도로 강한 찰과를 시행한 군(B군, 30예)으로 나누어서 임상 경과, 합병증, 그리고 단기 재발율을 비교하여 보았다. 결과 : 두 군간의 수술적응증, 나이와 성별의 분포는 비슷하였다. 술 후 흉관거치기간(3.78$\pm$3.35일:3.80$\pm$2.49일)과 입원기간(4.72$\pm$1.87일:4.67$\pm$2.20일)에 있어서도 두 군간에 유의한 차이가 없었으며, 진통제 사용량과 기간도 비슷하였다. 합병증의 대부분은 지속적인 공기누출이었고 A군에서 4예(12.5%), B군에서 2예(6.7%)로 비슷하게 발생하였으며, 출혈과 관련된 합병증은 없었다. A군과 B군에 있어서 각각 평균 9.7개월과 9.6개월의 단기 관찰기간동안 12.5%(4/32)와 0%(0/30)의 재발율을 보여서 통계학적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<0.05). 결론 : 자연기흉의 흉강경수술에 있어서 적절한 강도의 흉막찰과술의 시행은 재발을 감소시키는 중요한 인자이며, 이러한 수술로서 흉부절개술에 버금가는 낮은 재발율 성적을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • Air-operated valve(AOV) is one of principal valves that are using to control fluid flow in nuclear power plants. AOV is suffered from damage and malfunction by the abrasion, corrosion and vibration of valve parts under the long time operation. This mechanical trouble and malfunction of valve is critical for the safety of power plant. So a periodic diagnosis for safety of power plants is inevitable to guarantee the safety of the power plant. But depending on the type of the actuator and valve body, various types of AOV exist. In this study, It is developed the diagnostic system that users of power plants are easy to handle in this paper.

공기-분말 연마와 구연산의 적용시간에 따른 임프란트 표면 거칠기의 변화에 관한 주사탐침현미경적 연구 (The SPM Study on the Change of Titanium Surface Roughness following Airpowder Abrasive and Application Time of Citric Acid)

  • The Peri-implantitis causes inflammation of periodontal tissue and bone loss. It contaminates surface of implants. Therefore, guided bone regeneration has been used for the treatment of this disease. For the reosseointegration of the exposed surface, various mechanical and chemical methods have been used for cleaning and detoxication of implant surface. Among these methods, air-powder abrasive and oversaturated citrate are known to be most effective. However, these treatments may deform implant surface. In this research, changes of surface roughness they were examined. 10 experimental machined titanium cylinder models were fabricated to be used for control groups. Each of them was air powder abraded for 1 minute and they were named group 1. And then, group 1 were burnished with cotton pellets soaked with citrate for 30 seconds(Group 2), 1 minute(Group 3), 3 minutes(Group 4), and 5 minutes(Group 5) burnishing were applied for grouping respectively. Each group were examined with SPM, and their surface roughness were measured and analyzed. 1. Surface roughness of titanium decreased when it was air-powder abraded for 1 minute. It was statistically significant. 2. When Air-powder abraded titanium were treated with citrate for 3 minutes, Their surface roughness was the lowest. Titanium treated for 1 minute was the second lowest and 30 seconds was the third and titanium burnished for 5 minutes was the highest. 3. Surface roughness of titanium which was treated with citrate was decreased till 3 minutes, which was statistically significant. There was no statistical significance from 30 seconds to 1 minute and from 1 minute to 3 minutes, and there was statistical significance from 30 seconds to 3 minutes. 4. Oxide layer was formed when titanium is exposed to air, and it was removed when air-powder abraded. It was made when treated with citrate. It is thought that citrate treatment is necessary after the air-powder abrasion, and 1 minute is clinically and qualitatively adequate for burnishing time of citrate.

다합금계 백주철의 탄화물 및 기지조직이 내마모성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Carbide and Matrix Structures on Abrasion Wear Resistance of Multi-Component White Cast Iron)

  • The effects of carbide and matrix structures on the abrasion wear resistance of multi-component white cast irons with 3.0 mass%C have been studied in this paper. Four different heats were poured in order to obtain the specimens with different combinations of the carbide structures: a basic iron(3.0 mass%C-5.0 mass%Cr-5.0 mass%V-5.0 mass% Mo-12.5mass%W)for M$_{6}$C and M$_{7}$C$_{3}$ carbides, and a Cr free iron(3.0 mass%C-5.0 mass%V-2.5mass%Mo-12.5 mass%W) for MC and M6C carbides. A conventional high Cr free free iron(3.0 mass%C-5.0 mass%V-2.5 mass%Mo-12.5 mass%W) for MC and M6C carbides. A conventional high Cr white cast iron was also poured to compare its wear resistance with those of the multi-component white cast irons. In the as-cast condition, the range of abrasive wear rate(Rw=mg/min) was from 4.15 to 5.98 . The lowest Rw, which means the highest wear resistance, was obtained in the basic iron with nodular MC, lamellar M$_{2}$C and cellular M$_{7}$C$_{3}$ carbides. On the other hand, the Rw of the high Cr white cast iron ranked between the basic iron and the Mo and W free iron. In each alloy, the Rw of air hardened or tempered specimen was lower than that of the as-cast one because of the change of matrix structures by the heat treatments. The Rw of the hear treated speci-mens increased in the order Mo and W free iron, basic iron, Cr free iron, high Cr iron, and V free iron.n.n.n.
