室內空氣質 硏究의 現況과 展望 (Present and Future Perspectives of Studies on Indoor Air Quality)

  • This paper discusses the importance of indoor air quality based on literaure review of domestic and foreign studies. A number of international efforts to propose standards and guidelines for indoor environmental quality are also reviewed. The pattern of major studies on indoor air quality focussed on characterizaton of gaseous pollutants, particulates, and other specific pollutants during the past decades, whereas VOCs, specific carcinogen, and microbiological agents might be good target pollutants to investigate the effects of human health in recent years. Management of indoor air quality requires a different approach than that adopted for outdoor air. Adequate ventilation of the indoor environment is essential, and a balance between energy conservation and the need for good air quality is required. The ways for managing indoor air quality that will be of great importance are discussed a role of control policy for guidance on how to achieve good indoor air quality.

항공화물운송인의 책임부담위험에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Liability Risk of Air Cargo Carrier)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate liability risk of air cargo carrier and suggests ideas for solving problems which could be happen to air transporters on the future. because of Air transport remains one of the world's fastest growing and most important industries. And important treaties and contracts specifying transporters' responsibility regarding big scale aircraft accidents are such as Warsaw Convention in 1929, Hague Protocol in 1955, Montreal Convention in 1999. The Montreal Convention, formally the Convention for the Unification of Certain Rules for International Carriage, is a treaty adopted by Diplomatic meeting of ICAO member states in 1999. It amended important provisions of the Warsaw Convention's concerning compensation for the victims of air disasters. In conclusion, suggests to the method of air cargo security and cargo legal liability insurance which is for air cargo carrier's risk management.

대기오염도 실측에 의한 대기오염 자동측정망의 대표성 평가 (Evaluation of the Representativeness of Air Quality Monitoring Network in Seoul through Actual Measurement)

  • Simultaneous monitoring in many locations is necessary to evaluate the air quality and analyze future trend of a city, For this purpose, it is essential to install air pollution monitoring network. The first automatic air pollution monitoring network was introduced Seoul in 1973. As of 1995, 20 monitoring stations are now in operation. Concerning the management of the air pollution monitoring network, there was some argument among the relavant scholars, non-governmental organization(NGO) and the government organization. So far, there was no extensive evaluation and analysis about the network. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the representativeness of air quality monitoring network through actual measurement of the concentration of the air pollutant. The concentration of NOx was extensively measured widely in Seoul area three times using the TEA simple measuring technique. Even the judgement level for the area representativeness was lowered to 80%, Ssangmun-dong monitoring station tend to overestimate the pollutant concentration of the covered area. While, Sinlimdong monitoring station tend to underestimate the pollutant concentration of the covered area.

항공교통관제사의 피로.스트레스 요인 (Fatigue and Stress of Air Traffic Controllers in Korea)

  • Air traffic controllers often experience fatigue and stress on the job due to work-related factors. Performance impairment resulting from fatigue and stress is an important concern for aviation safety. The goal of this research was to investigate fatigue and stress factors for air traffic controllers. The research involved an extensive literature review of fatigue and stress in the air traffic control environment and surveyed fatigue and job stress level of Korean air traffic controllers compared to other occupation groups. Results of survey showed that fatigue and stress levels of air traffic controllers were significantly higher than other occupation groups. Specially air traffic controllers reported that night work created high level of fatigue and perceived that physical environment and job demand induced high level of stress. In addition, implications for fatigue and stress management were discussed.

  • The present study has been conducted variable refrigerant flow system applied building. Multi air-conditioning system has some benefits : easier building management and maintenance and energy saving. Recently, the system heat pump has been employed in medium-sized and tall buildings. However, the performance data and design method for system heat pump are limited in literature due to complicated system parameters and operating conditions. In the present study, case study of a system heat pump applied various building. The aim of this paper is to application multi air-conditioners and to inform the benefits of multi air-conditioners.

DNAPL Removal Mechanisms and Mass Transfer Characteristics during Cosolvent-Air Flooding

  • The concurrent injection of cosolvent and air, a cosolvent-air (CA) flood was recently suggested for a dense nonaqueous phase liquid (DNAPL) remediation technology. The objectives of this study were to elucidate the DNAPL removal mechanisms of the CA flood and to quantify mass transfer rate coefficients during CA flooding. DNAPL removal mechanisms were examined by evaluating the effects of air flow rate and DNAPL solubility and visually documented at a pore-scale. Two serial processes, immiscible displacement and dissolution, were experimentally and visually documented during CA flooding. Mass transfer rate coefficients (K) were computed from the data showing PCE saturation versus time. Results showed that CA floods exhibited higher K values than cosolvent floods without concurrent air injection.   • A study for the dangerous properties measurment of dust explosion was attended by the various dust concentration on Anthraquinone, Sodiumbenzoic acid, Corn starch, soy sauce powder, and cheese powder. As the result, maximum explosion pressure, the maximum rate of pressure rise, autoigntion temperature, and the water content of dust on lower limit explosion concentration was obtained as follows 1. The lower limit explosion concentration on soy sauce powder with the humidity of 65 to 90% increased by increasing the con tent of moisture, and the effect of dry air and moisture air decreased better in make of dry air. 2. The effect of a various dust concentration on autoigntion temperatures is investigated, If the vessel of dust explosion is small size and the easiness of autoignition was controled by air within the vessel, because it was better decreased air with increasing of dust concentration 3. The maximum explosion pressures of Anthraguinone, sodiumbenzoic acid, com starch, soy sauce powder, and cheese powder were 1.0g/$\ell$, 1.0g/$\ell$, 1.5g/$\ell$, 1.5g/$\ell$, and 1.5g/$\ell$, respectively, and the maximum rate of pressure rise were 0.5g/$\ell$, 0.5g/$\ell$, 1.0g/$\ell$, 1.0g/$\ell$, and 1.0g/$\ell$, respectively.

Spatiotemporal variations and source apportionment of NOx, SO2, and O3 emissions around heavily industrial locality

  • The main objective of this study is to estimate the levels of pollution to which the community is presently exposed and to model the regimes of local air quality. Diurnal, daily, and monthly variations of NO, NO2, SO2, and O3 were thoroughly investigated in three areas; namely, residential, industrial, and terminal in Ras Al-Khafji. There is obvious diurnal variation in the concentration of these pollutants that clearly follows the diurnal variation of atmospheric temperature and main anthropogenic and industrial activities. Correlation analysis showed that meteorological conditions play a vital role in shaping the pattern and transportation of air pollutants and photochemical processes affecting O3 formation and destruction. Bivariate polar plots, an effective graphical tool that utilizes air pollutant concentrations' dependence on wind speed and wind direction, were used to identify prevailing emission sources. Non-buoyant ground-level sources like domestic heating and street transport emissions, various industrial stacks, and airport-related activities were considered dominant emission sources in observatory sites. This study offers valuable and detailed information on the status of air quality, which has considerable, quantifiable, and important public health benefits.

군산공업지역의 TCM모형을 적용한 대기오염물질 관리방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Method of Air Quality Management Using TCM Model in Industrial Area)

  • This study was performed to evaluate a applicability of TCM(Texas Climatological Model) model to a industrial area sush as CUNSAN and a possibility to provide necessary informaitons for air quality management. The air pollutants were measured at 6 sampling sites of GUNSAN industrial area from june to july in 1989. The model was checked by comparing the observed data with estimated data. The meteorological data for wind direction and wind speed were obtained from the observatory station in GUNSAN. The results are summarized as follows. 1. Average concentrations of air pollutants at all sampling sites were SO$_{2}$ 0.011-0.019 ppm. NO$_{2}$ 0.012-0.017 ppm. CO 0.6-1.0 ppm. TSP 45.8-64.2 $\mu$g/m$^{3}$. 2. The emission amounts show that point source are in general higher than area source. 3. As a results of correlation analysis, relationship between SO$_{2}$ concentration in the observed value and estimated value showed positive significance.(r = 0.766) 4. The sulfer content of the 1.6% at present to 0.8%, which means a 53.3% reduction. By controlling stack height could be lowered 14.5%, but the effective way of emission control is use of the lower sulfer fuels than controlling stack height. 5. The ratio between SO$_{2}$ contration in the observed value and estimated value showed 1.05. There-fore, the TCM model was quite effective in predicting air quality in GUNSAN industrial area.

차량용 열제어 관리 시스템의 성능 시뮬레이션 프로그램 개발 (Development of Simulation Program of Vehicle Thermal Managements System)

  • The computer-aided performance simulation can reduce periods for development of products and cut down on the cost comparing with former trial-and-error procedures. This study has developed a simulation program for a vehicle thermal management system integrating an engine cooling system and an air conditioning system considering interactions and arrangement of air side heat exchangers such as power steering oil cooler, air-cooled transmission oil cooler, condenser, and radiator. The program may be also used for the system performance analysis according to the configuration of the engine coolant side heat exchangers such as water-cooled transmission oil cooler, EGR cooler, and heater core. Experiments utilizing an environmental wind tunnel has been conducted to assess the performance of the system according to the arrangement of air side heat exchangers. Some modification of the coolant loop layout can enhance the heat core performance up to 7% according to the results of the simulations.
