CrAlMgSiN 박막의 600-900℃에서의 대기중 산화 (Oxidation of CrAlMgSiN thin films between 600 and 900℃ in air)

  • Thin CrAlMgSiN films, whose composition were 30.6Cr-11.1Al-7.3Mg-1.2Si-49.8N (at.%), were deposited on steel substrates in a cathodic arc plasma deposition system. They consisted of alternating crystalline Cr-N and AlMgSiN nanolayers. After oxidation at $800^{\circ}C$ for 200 h in air, a thin oxide layer formed by outward diffusion of Cr, Mg, Al, Fe, and N, and inward diffusion of O ions. Silicon ions were relatively immobile at $800^{\circ}C$. After oxidation at $900^{\circ}C$ for 10 h in air, a thin $Cr_2O_3$ layer containing dissolved ions of Al, Mg, Si, and Fe formed. Silicon ions became mobile at $900^{\circ}C$. After oxidation at $900^{\circ}C$ for 50 h in air, a thin $SiO_2-rich$ layer formed underneath the thin $Cr_2O_3$ layer. The film displayed good oxidation resistance. The main factor that decreased the oxidation resistance of the film was the outward diffusion and subsequent oxidation of Fe at the sample surface, particularly along the coated sample edge.

산 표면처리 후 상아질 표면의 습윤이 하이브리드층 형성에 관한 전자현미경적 연구 (ELECTRON MICROSCOPIC STUDY OF RESIN-DENTIN HYBRID ZONE PRODUCED BY THE MOISTENING OF ACID CONDITIONED DENTIN SURFACE)

  • The effect of moistening and air-drying of acid-conditioned dentin before priming on the formation of resin-dentin hybrid zone was investigated, Freshly extracted human molars were used and divided at random into 5 groups, Groups 1 - 3 consisted of specimens conditioned with 10 % phosphoric acid for 20 seconds; Group 1 served as a control in which the conditioned dentin was simply blot-dried with a damp facial tissue; Group 2 was air dried for 30 seconds ; Group 3 was air dried for 30 seconds and immediately remoistened for 10 seconds with air-water syringe. and then the specimen was blot-dried with a damp facial tissue. Groups 4-5 were not acid conditioned ; In group 4, the smear layer on the dentin was blot dried before primer placement; Group 5 was air dried only for 30 seconds, The acetone-based primer and bonding agent of All Bond 2 (Bisco. Inc., USA) and composite resin (Z-100, 3M Dental products, USA) were applied for acid conditioned dentin and non-conditioned dentin. The morphologic ultrastructure of resin-dentin hybrid zone was examined by the use of SEM and TEM. and the existence of inorganic material and analysis of Ca/P weight-percent ratio in the resin-dentin hybrid zone were revealed by the EDAX, The results were as follows : 1. In the moistened specimens from acid-conditioned groups, the resin penetrated about 3-$4{\mu}m$ into dentin and the denatured collagen smear layer was not present at the surface. The resin tag was formed to a thickeness of 3-$4{\mu}m$ at the upper part of dentinal tubule and compactively connected to each other by means of many lateral branching. 2. In the air-dried specimens from acid-conditioned groups, the resin penetrated about 2.0-$2.5\;{\mu}m$ into dentin and an upper thin black layer to a thickness of 30-35nm was identified between adhesive resin and demineralized collagen layer. The resin tag to have a diameter of $2.5{\mu}m$ was formed at the upper part of dentinal tubule. However the funnel shape of the tag was not notable compared to the moistened specimens. 3. In the remoistened specimens from acid conditioned groups, the resin penetrated about 2.0-$2.5{\mu}m$ into dentin and an upper black layer was not present. The resin tag at the upper part of dentinal tubule was formed less than $2{\mu}m$ and was weakly connected to each other by means of few lateral branching. 4. In the non-conditioned groups, the smear layer was formed to a thickness of $0.5{\mu}m$ at dentin surface. However, the resin-dentin hybrid zone was not identified by TEM. The evidence of resin penetration into intertubular and intratubular dentin did not show. 5. All the acid-conditioned groups showed that the detected calcium and phosphorus weight percent ratios at the $2{\mu}m$ upper portion from the resin-dentin interface into the resin were much higher than that at the $2{\mu}m$ lower portion from the resin-dentin interface to dentin. Experimental investigation of frictional resistance reduction with air layer on the hull bottom of a ship

  • In an effort to cope with recent high oil price and global warming, developments of air lubricated ships have been pursued to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to save fuel costs by reducing the frictional resistance. In this study, reduction in the frictional resistance by air lubrication with air layers generated on the lower surface of a flat plate was investigated experimentally in the large water tunnel of SSMB. The generated air layers were observed, and changes in the local frictional drag were measured at various flow rates of injected air. The results indicated that air lubrication with air layers might be useful in reducing the frictional resistance at specific conditions of air injection. Accordingly, resistance and self-propulsion tests for a 66K DWT bulk carrier were carried out in the towing tank of SSMB to estimate the expected net power savings.

돈분 퇴비화 시 공기 흡입 시스템에 따른 퇴비화 특성 변화 (Characteristic Changes of Swine Manure by Air Suction Composting System)

  • 본 연구는 돈분 퇴비화 시 공기흡입 시스템을 적용한 반응기 내 퇴비의 이화학적 성상을 조사하기 위하여 실시되었다. 본 연구에서는 톱밥을 수분조절재로 이용하여 돼지분뇨와 적절하게 혼합한 후, 총 용적 30 L 크기의 플라스틱 재질 반응기에서 실험을 수행하였다. 공기펌프를 이용하여 반응기 하단부에서 공기를 주입하였으며, 진공흡입펌프를 이용하여 반응기 상단부, 중앙 측면부, 하단부에서 각각 공기를 흡입 할 수 있게 설비하였다. 온도의 경우, 퇴비화 개시 후 3일 째에 $58^{\circ}C{\sim}62^{\circ}C$로 가장 높게 관찰되었으며, 모든 시험구가 3일간 $50^{\circ}C$ 이상의 온도를 유지하는 것을 관찰할 수 있었다. 퇴비의 온도는 점차 안정화 되어 60일 이후 대기 온도와 비슷하게 감소했다. 퇴비단 표면에서 발생하는 암모니아는 대조구를 제외하고 퇴비화 개시 4일 째에 각각 상부흡입조건 : 500 ppm, 하부흡입조건 162 ppm, 중앙 측면흡입조건 120 ppm 순으로 가장 높은 발생량이 조사되었다. 퇴비 표면에서 발생한 암모니아의 경우, 상부흡입 처리구가 타 처리구에 비해 상대적으로 높은 암모니아 발생량을 보였다. 총 켈달질소 함량 (TKN)은 퇴비단의 질량 감소에 의해 점점 증가하는 것을 관찰할 수 있었고, C/N비는 초기 퇴비단이 23 이었으며, 퇴비화가 진행되면서 점차 감소해 최종적으로는 상부흡입조건 13, 중앙 측면흡입조건 12, 하부흡입 13으로 관찰되었다. $NH_4-N$$NO_3-N$의 비율은 퇴비화 개시 시 10.52였으며, 점차 감소하여 퇴비화 종료일에 상부흡입조건 0.97, 중앙 측면흡입조건 0.70, 하부흡입조건 3.2로 관찰되었다. 결과적으로 상부흡입조건과 중앙 측면흡입 조건이 양질 퇴비를 만들기 위한 최적의 조건인 것으로 관찰되었다.

Thickness Effect of ZnO Electron Transport Layers in Inverted Organic Solar Cells

  • Organic solar cells (OSCs) with low cost have been studied to apply on flexible substrate by solution process in low temperature [1]. In previous researches, conventional organic solar cell was composed of metal oxide anode, buffer layer such as PEDOT:PSS, photoactive layer, and metal cathode with low work function. In this structure, indium tin oxide (ITO) and Al was generally used as metal oxide anode and metal cathode, respectively. However, they showed poor reliability, because PEDOT:PSS was sensitive to moisture and air, and the low work function metal cathode was easily oxidized to air, resulting in decreased efficiency in half per day [2]. Inverted organic solar cells (IOSCs) using high work function metal and buffer layer replacing the PEDOT:PSS have focused as a solution in conventional organic solar cell. On the contrary to conventional OSCs, ZnO and TiO2 are required to be used as a buffer layer, since the ITO in IOSC is used as cathode to collect electrons and block holes. The ZnO is expected to be excellent electron transport layer (ETL), because the ZnO has the advantages of high electron mobility, stability in air, easy fabrication at room temperature, and UV absorption. In this study, the IOSCs based on poly [N-900-hepta-decanyl-2,7-carbazole-alt-5,5-(40,70-di-2-thienyl-20,10,30-benzothiadiazole)] (PCDTBT) : [6,6]-phenyl C71 butyric acid methyl ester (PC70BM) were fabricated with the ZnO electron-transport layer and MoO3 hole-transport layer. Thickness of the ZnO for electron-transport layer was controlled by rotation speed in spin-coating. The PCDTBT and PC70BM were mixed with a ratio of 1:2 as an active layer. As a result, the highest efficiency of 2.53% was achieved.

Designing of Dynamic Sensor Networks based on Meter-range Swarming Flight Type Air Nodes

  • Dynamic sensor network(DSN) technology which is based on swarming flight type air node offers analyzed and acquired information on target data gathered by air nodes in rotation flight or 3 dimension array flight. Efficient operation of dynamic sensor network based on air node is possible when problems of processing time, data transmission reliability, power consumption and intermittent connectivity are solved. Delay tolerant network (DTN) can be a desirable alternative to solve those problems. DTN using store-and-forward message switching technology is a solution to intermittent network connectivity, long and variable delay time, asymmetric data rates, and high error rates. However, all processes are performed at the bundle layer, so high power consumption, long processing time, and repeated reliability technique occur. DSN based on swarming flight type air node need to adopt store-and-forward message switching technique of DTN, the cancelation scheme of repeated reliability technique, fast processing time with simplified layer composition.

Numerical Study on the Extrapolation Method for Predicting the Full-scale Resistance of a Ship with an Air Lubrication System

  • Frictional resistance comprises more than 60% of the total resistance for most merchant ships. Active and passive devices have been used to reduce frictional resistance, but the most effective and practical device is an air lubrication system. Such systems have been applied in several ships, and their effects have been verified in sea trials. On the other hand, there are some differences between the results predicted in model tests and those measured in sea trials. In this study, numerical analyses were carried out for a model and a full-scale ship. A new extrapolation method was proposed to improve the estimation of the full-scale resistance of a ship with an air lubrication system. The volume of fluid (VOF) method was considered for the numerical models of the air layer. The numerical method was validated by comparing the experimental data on the air layer pattern and the total resistance.

지표투과레이더를 이용한 아스팔트 혼합물의 공극률 예측에 관한 연구 (Estimation of Air Voids in Asphalt Mixtures Using Ground-Penetrating Radar)

  • PURPOSES : The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between the dielectric characteristics of asphalt mixtures and the air voids present in them using ground penetrating radar (GPR) testing. METHODS : To measure the dielectric properties of the asphalt mixtures, the reflection coefficient method and the approach based on the actual thickness of the asphalt layer were used. An air-couple-type GPR antenna with a center frequency of 1 GHz was used to measure the time for reflection from the asphalt/base layer interface. A piece of aluminum foil was placed at the interface to be able to determine the reflection time of the GPR signal with accuracy. An asphalt pavement testbed was constructed, and asphalt mixtures with different compaction numbers were tested. After the GPR tests, the asphalt samples were cored and their thicknesses and number of air voids were measured in the laboratory. RESULTS : It was found the dielectric constant of asphalt mixtures tends to decrease with an increase in the number of air voids. The dielectric constant values estimated from the reflection coefficient method exhibited a slight correlation to the number of air voids. However, the dielectric constant values measured using the approach based on the actual asphalt layer thickness were closely related to the asphalt mixture density. Based on these results, a regression equation to determine the number of air voids in asphalt mixtures using the GPR test method was proposed. CONCLUSIONS : It was concluded that the number of air voids in an asphalt mixture can be calculated based on the dielectric constant of the mixture as determined by GPR testing. It was also found that the number of air voids was exponentially related to the dielectric constant, with the coefficient of determination, $R^2$, being 0.74. These results suggest that the dielectric constant as determined by GPR testing can be used to improve the construction quality and maintenance of asphalt pavements.

화재 시뮬레이션(FDS)을 이용한 거실제연설비 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on Improvenment of Livingroom Smoke-control System using the FDS)

  • 본 논문은 거실제연설비의 인접구역 상호제연방식의 성능 확인 및 향상을 위한 논문으로써 국가화재안전기준(NFSC)과 NFPA 연기제어에 관한 규정을 비교 분석하였다. 분석방법은 화재 시뮬레이션(FDS)을 통해 모델링을 실시하여, 급기량 변화, 제연경계의 폭, 화재실내 가연물 변화, 유입공기의 풍속차이를 통해 이루어졌다. 그 결과 청결층 확보를 위해 급기량을 배출량 이하로 하였을때 화재실에서의 청결층 확보에 유리한 것으로 나타났으나 급기실에서는 급기량을 배출량 이상으로 하였을때 청결층 확보에 유리한 것으로 나타났으며, 제연경계의 폭이 길어질수록 성능 확보에 유리한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 가연물의 종류에 따라 급기량과 배출량을 고려해야 하며, 공기유입구 풍속은 급기량을 감소시킴과 동시에 공기유입구 풍속을 낮게 하므로써 화재실의 청결층 확보에 유리한 것으로 나타났다.

Air cavity가 맨드릴형 광-음향센서의 감도특성에 미치는 영향 (Influences of Air Cavity on the Sensitivity of a Mandrel Type fiber Optic Acoustic Sensor)

  • 본 논문은 air cavity가 삽입된 중공 층상복합체 맨드릴형 광-음향센서의 감도특성에 관한 것이다. 유한요소법으로 air cavity의 두께, 포밍(foaming)층의 두께 및 맨드릴의 내경/외경비 등의 형상변수에 따른 광-음향센서의 감도특성을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 두꺼운 air cavity 및 얇은 포밍층이 설치되고, 상대적으로 높은 내경/외경 비를 갖는 맨드릴을 사용하는 것이 음향감도의 향상을 위하여 바람직하다. Air cavity를 삽입한 중공 층상복합체 맨드릴을 사용할 경우, 음향감도는 air cavity가 없는 중공 층상복합체 맨드릴형 센서에 비해 약 0.8dB 정도 향상되는 것으로 나타났다.
