The study focused on setting priority among the future core technologies that were derived by Delphi in agricultural management & information using analytic hierarchy process(AHP). Items for setting priority were decided as ‘technology’, ‘market’, and ‘public concerns’by council. The future core technologies were divided into four parts by importance and R&D level. Technologies which consisted of upper two parts having higher importance were considered in the study. Questionnaires were given to 9 specialists in biosystems engineering. As the results, ‘market’ was decided as a most important item. The most important technologies were ‘Developing technology and system of post harvest processing for higher quality rice’ in group I, and ‘Developing sensor technology to evaluate quality and safety for agricultural products’ in group II.
The research question of this work comes from that there have been disputes for the governance and roles of the Rural Development Agency (RDA), despite of rather excellence performances of Agricultural R&D program supported by RDA. For this reason, I meta-evaluated the internal evaluation system of Agricultural R&D program in RDA, in terms of the four meta-evaluation components such as evaluation paradigm, evaluation resources, evaluation execution and evaluation utilization. The result shows that the most serious problem is rather lower level of evaluation. Object, one of the evaluation paradigms in the R&D evaluation system of the RDA. So, this work suggested the policy alternatives which may lead the R&D evaluation system of the RDA to be developed for the performance-oriented R&D management system.
Neohaplonts were obtained to improve mushroom strain from dikaryon strains of Flammulina Velutips, Ganoderma lucidum, Lyophyllum ulmarium, Pleurotus cornucopiae and Pleurotus spodoleucus by protoplast reversion. The noehaplont frequency from reversion colonies of protoplasts was 4.47-47.7%. Four more types of morphological characteristics were detected from neohaplonts of protoplast reversion in L. ulmarium, P. cornucopiae and P. spodoleucus, but one or two types were neohaplonts in F.velutipes and G. lucidum. Growth rate of neohaplonts was slow compared with dikaryon strains.
Agricultural R&D Programs of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forest and the Rural Development Administration are important for improving agricultural technology in Korea. However, the roles of these two agencies have been overlapped as the research fields and funds are extended through educational-industrial-governmental-institutional cooperation programs. In this study, we analyzed the performances of two agencies. As a result, these programs of these agencies do not show much difference in the research area. A new direction for improving efficiency and solving problems of programs, with a variety of information about the role of two agencies and activation of agricultural R&D programs, will be provided by this performance analyses.
Adventitious buds appeared within 2 weeks on the base of the petiole explants and increased for two months. A maximum of regeneration (15.6%) was obtained on the medium containing $1.5\;{\mu}M$ TDZ in combination with $1\;{\mu}M$ IBA. To know which explants are the best for the induction of regeneration, three explants such as leaf, petiole and leaf-petiole were used. Among the explant types, the leaf-petiole explant was significantly more effective than leaf and petiole for promoting adventitious shoots, with leaf-petiole inducing at the highest regeneration frequency (33.7%). The regeneration frequency of adventitious shoots in the leaf-petiole explants was significantly affected by leaf size and the position of explants. The leaf-petiole smaller than 5 mm leaf in width was induced at the highest regeneration frequency (68.9%). The smaller leaf sizes, the greater regeneration frequency. Also when the leaves are nearer to the shoot tip, the regeneration frequency is higher. When the rooted micro-shoots were transferred to the soil after growing for 6 weeks in the media, the survival rate was 90%.

To study the characteristics of yeasts, 433 strains of the genus Aureobasidium were isolated from the flowers collected from Jeolla-do in Korea, and the diversity of the strains was confirmed through molecular phylogenetic and morphological analyses. Based on phylogenetic analysis of LSU rDNA seguences, the Aureobasidium strains from the Jeolla-do province were classified into six groups. The dominant species of flower-derived yeasts were Groups A and D. Since Groups B, E, and F were found only in Jeollanam-do, we can infer that the Aureobasidium is distributed more widely in Jeollanam-do than in the Jeollabuk-do province. Through LSU and ITS rDNA sequence analyses, Group A was identified as A. pullulans, Group B as A. melanogenum, and Group F as a putative new species of Aureobasidium. Groups C, D, and E do not completely match with A. leucospermi, A. namibiae, or A. subglaciale by LSU or ITS rDNA analysis but are closely related to those species. Comparisons of colony morphology are likely to be more helpful in distinguishing Groups C and D. The results of this study can provide useful characteristics for future studies of the genus Aureobasidium.
For even distribution of liquid manure in the field, a boom nozzle type spreader was designed and studied to determined its suitability for small scale crop production farms. Boom nozzle type spreader was compared in the impact triple nozzle and impact single nozzle type spreader. Spreading uniformity of the boom nozzle type liquid manure spreader showed 5.2% (C.V.) and impact single nozzle type spreader showed 6.9% (C.V.). The spreading uniformity of the impact triple nozzle type spreader was quite uneven, therefore, the spreader could be modified as twin nozzle for spreading in orchard farm. The wheel axle height adjustable type liquid manure spreader has higher the stability and it considered much useful on the hilly agricultural land.

In the digital age, a lot of agricultural R&D is based on data. However, genetic resources are still essential for basic research and agricultural development. Accordingly, many countries are making great efforts to secure various genetic resources. In Korea, the National Agrobiodiversity Center (NAC) has more than 270,000 plant genetic resources so far as part of its efforts. In order to efficiently use the resources for agricultural R&D, it is essential to determine the genotypes of the resources. For this, it is essential to build a system for mass genotyping. For this, sorghum were selected as a model crop considering the genome size, the high-quality reference genome, and the number of resources. To efficiently determine the genotype data from many genetic resources, we developed a GATK pipeline that works efficiently on HPC. The pipeline efficiently and rapidly determined 769 genotypes of 410 genetic resources. Going forward, our team will continue to work to determine genotypes of over a thousand sorghum resources, and the data will be released at the National Agricultural Biotechnology Information Center (NABIC) in order to be used in agricultural R&D.
