  • Internal voids in insulators give rise to partial discharge, which causes a local breakdown and even entire insulation breakdown. Recently, the necessity of establishing the way to diagnose the aging of insulation materials and to predict of insulation breakdown become important. The purpose of our work are to investigate the treeing phenomena with an artificial needle shaped void by the charge of discharge and acoustic emission pulse in each phase angle area at the same time. We analyzed the .PHI.-QA-t pattern and .PHI.-AEA-t pattern using statistic operators such as pulse magnitude, pulse number, skewness, kurtosis. Therefore, the relation between the charge of discharge and acoustic emission pulse will be helpful to predict the breakdown just before the breakdown occur.

  • The result was estimated on the fractal characteristics as possibilities of identification of manufacture state for long period stabilities. At the second, the dangerous area was easily found to the recurrent phenomena of FD output. However, such area is very difficult to analysis of mechanism and to predict the lifetime in present state, it is possible to discriminate by means of data accumulation.

  • A transformer is one of the most important elements in the power network. Transformer faults could cause costly repairs and be dangerous to personnel. To avoid this, its reliable operation has great significance and, therefore, the diagnosis system of the transformer is necessitated. The dissolved gas-in-oil analysis (DGA) is the worldwide popular method of detecting faults such as a hot spot or partial discharges inside the transformer. DGA, however, is not a reliable technique to identify aging phenomena and mechanical faults including insulation failure, inter-turn short, etc. To overcome the drawbacks of DGA, the transfer function method is used to identify effectively these kinds of the mechanical faults.   • To clarify the activating effects of Scolopendrae corpus on immunological function, its effect on primary and secondary antibodies production in mice of various ages was investigated. Scolopendrae corpus increased the number of both antibody producing cells(anti-IgM and anti-IgG producing plaque forming cells, PFC) and phagocytic activity of peritoneal macrophage. Futhermore, these phenomena were significantly increased with aging in mice. Scolopendrae corpus also increased natural killer cell activity concerning to cancer immunology. These results suggest that Scolopendrae corpus markedly increases the reduced activity in the elderly and activates the immune response in senescence mice.

We have analyzed the ${\Phi}-Q-n$ pattern and the insulation diagnosis of the samples using statistic operators such as charge magnitude and A.E pulse factor, skweness, kurtosis, G,C. Therefore, the relation between the charge of partial discharge and A.E pulse will be helpful and efficient to predict the breakdown just before the breakdown occure.

  • 본 논문은 분극처리된 PZT 압전 세라믹 소자의 물리, 음향학적 제 특성이 시간의 함수로 나타 나는 시효현상을 다루고 있다. SrCO\sub 3\, NiO 및 Fe\sub 2\O\sub 3\를 소량 첨가하여 직접 제조한 PZT 세라믹은 분극처리 후, f\sub r\ 은 증가하는 시효현상을 보여주었다. 시효현상 기구의 이해를 위하 여 이중 포텐샬우물 모델을 이용하였으며, 외부에서 가한 응력, 역방향 전장 및 온도상승에 따라 분극현 상을 나타내었다. 시효현상의 주 원인은 분극처리시 전장 방향으로 분역들이 정렬되면서 내부에 저장되 었던 잔유응력의 이완에 의한 분역계면의 운동에 있음을 간접적으로 확인하였다. 이러한 분역계면의 운 동은 열적 활성화 에너지를 갖는 시간에 의존하는 운동으로써 분극의 감소를 유발하며, 이것이 시효현 상으로 나타나는 것으로 사료된다.

Numerical Modeling of Charge Transport in Polymer Materials Under DC Continuous Electrical Stress

  • Our work is based on the development of a numerical model to develop a methodology for predicting the aging and breakdown in insulation due to the dynamics of space charge packets. The model of bipolar charge transports is proposed to simulate space charge dynamic for high DC voltage in law-density polyethylene (LDPE), taking into account the trapping and detrapping of recombination phenomena, this model has been developed and experimentally validation. Theoretical formulation of the physical problem is based on the Poisson, the continuity and the transport equations as well as on the appropriate models for injection. Numerical results provide temporal and local distributions of the electric field, the space charge density for the different kinds of charges, conduction and displacement current densities, and the external current.

급냉응고된 Mg-Al-Si-xCa 합금의 시효경화 및 미세조직 (Age Hardening and Microstructure in Rapidly Solidified Mg-Al-Si-xCa Alloys)

  • Rapidly solidified Mg-Al-Si base alloys containing Ca were obtained by melt spinning. The melt-spun ribbons were aged isochronally or isothermally to investigate age hardening phenomena and microstructural change according to the alloy composition. Age hardening occurred after aging at $200^{\circ}C$ for 1h mainly due to the precipitation of $Al_2Ca$ and $Mg_2Ca$, which have coherent interfaces with the matrix. With the increase of Ca content, the hardness values of the alloy ribbons were increased. Among the alloys, Mg-10Al-2 Si-3Ca alloy showed a good thermal stability at elevated temperature.

포괄적 누적 충격 공통원인고장 모형 및 시스템 신뢰도 평가 (Comprehensive Cumulative Shock Common Cause Failure Models and Assessment of System Reliability)

  • This research proposes comprehensive models for analyzing common cause failures (CCF) due to cumulative shocks and to assess system reliability under the CCF. The proposed cumulative shock models are based on the binomial failure rate (BFR) model. Six kinds of models are proposed so as to explain diverse cumulative shock phenomena. The models are composed of the initial failure probability, shape parameter, and the total shock number. Some parameters of the proposed models can not be explicitly estimated, so we adopt the Expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm in order to obtain the maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) for the parameters. By estimating the parameters for the cumulative shock models, the system reliability with CCF can be assessed sequentially according to the number of cumulative shocks. The result can be utilizes in dynamic probabilistic safety assessment (PSA), aging studies, or risk management for nuclear power plants. Replacement or maintenance policies can also be developed based on the proposed model.

Evaluating Geographic Differences in Electricity Burdens: An Analysis of Socioeconomic and Housing Characteristics in Erie County, New York

  • The increasing cost, and demand for, household energy has increased attention to the phenomena of energy burdens. Despite this increased attention, a lack of consensus remains in pinpointing the strongest predictors, and geographic differences, that exist within the energy ecosystem. This study addresses this gap by utilizing a series of dummy variable regressions across cities, suburbs, and rural areas within Erie County, New York-a county noted to have particularly high energy burdens. Specifically, three types of predictor sets were incorporated into the methodology: a set of socioeconomic variables, physical variables, and a combination of both variable sets. The results of this study suggest that cities tend to have the highest electricity burdens. Despite the aging infrastructure in Erie County, high energy burdens were driven primarily by socioeconomic factors such as housing cost burden and poverty status. Lastly, this study explores various planning and policy implications Erie County can utilize to reduce energy burdens. In turn, this study highlights the importance of focusing policy efforts on existing social service programs to provide support to the region's neediest households.
