PURPOSES : This investigational survey is to observe a proper spatial aggregation method for path travel time estimation using the hi-pass DSRC system. METHODS : The links which connect the nodes of section detectors location are used for path travel time estimation traditionally. It makes some problem such as increasing accumulation errors and processing times. In this background, the new links composition methods for spatial aggregation are considered by using some types of nodes as IC, JC, RSE combination. Path travel times estimated by new aggregation methods are compared with PBM travel times by MAE, MAPE and statistical hypothesis tests. RESULTS : The results of minimum sample size and missing rate for 5 minutes aggregation interval are satisfied except for JC link path travel time in Seoul TG~Kuemho JC. Thus, it was additionally observed for minimum sample size satisfaction. In 15, 30 minutes and 1 hour aggregation intervals, all conditions are satisfied by the minimum sample size criteria. For accuracy test and statistical hypothesis test, it has been proved that RSE, Conzone, IC, JC links have equivalent errors and statistical characteristics. CONCLUSIONS : There are some errors between the PBM and the LBM methods that come from dropping vehicles by rest areas. Consequently, this survey result means each of links compositions are available for the estimation of path travel time when PBM vehicles are missed.
Due to the complexity of spatial interaction and the necessity of spatial representation and modeling, aggregation of spatial interaction data is indispensible. Given this, the purpose of this paper is to evaluate the effects of modifiable areal unit problem (MAUP) on a spatial interaction model. Four aggregation schemes are utilized at eight different scales: 1) randomly select seeds of district and then allocate basic spatial units to them, 2) minimize the sum of population weighted distance within a district, 3) maximize the proportion of flow within a district, and 4) minimize the proportion of flow within a district. A simple Poisson regression model with origin and destination constraints is utilized. Analysis results demonstrate that spatial characteristics of residuals, parameter values, and goodness-of-fit of the model were influenced by aggregation scale and schemes. Overall, the model responded more sensitively to aggregation scale than aggregation schemes and the scale effect on the model was varied according to aggregation schemes.
The purpose of this study is to confirm whether the fit between the task and the information characteristics makes any effects on the user satisfaction. The task is defined as two sub-constructs representing the degree of exception and analyzability. The information characteristics is divided into the degree of aggregation, scope and timeliness of information. User satisfaction was used as a surrogate measure of the performance of information systems. The computer self-efficacy was used to control any confounding effects. Field research method using questionnaires was employed to empirically investigate the relationship among the variables. Findings of the study are summarized as follows: the fit between the task and the aggregation of information and between the task and the scope of information turned out to have significant effects on information system performance. The implication of such results is that under highly exceptional or less analyzable task environment, less-aggregated or broad information is more appropriate.
The quality of satellite imagery should be improved and stabilized to satisfy numerous users. The radiometric characteristics of an optical sensor can be a measure of data quality. In this study, a band aggregation technique and spectral response function of hyperspectral images are used to simulate multispectral images. EO-1 Hyperion and Landsat-8 OLI images acquired with about 30 minutes difference in overpass time were exploited to evaluate radiometric coefficients of OLI. Radiance values of the OLI and the simulated OLI were compared over three subsets covered by different land types. As a result, the index of agreement shows over 0.99 for all VNIR bands although there are errors caused by space/time and sensors.

Load models are very important for improving the accuracy of stability analysis and load flow studies. Various loads are connected to a power bus and their characteristics of power consumption change with voltage and frequency. Thus, the effect of voltage/frequency changes must be considered in load modeling. In this work, artificial neural networks-ANNs- were used to construct the component load models for more accurate modeling. A typical residential load was selected and subjected to a test under variable voltage/frequency conditions. Acquired data were used to construct component models by ANNs. The aggregation process of separately determined load models is also presented in the paper. Furthermore, this paper proposes a method to transform a single load model constructed by the aggregation method into a mathematical load model that can be used in traditional power system analysis software.
The Unified Modeling Language(UML) became the standard object oriented modeling language approved by Object Management Group(OMG). However, C++ codes which are generated by some CASE tools supporting UML do not reflect the correct semantics of one-to-many relationship and aggregation relationship. Additionally, since the commercial CASE tools support too many programming languages on one UML class diagram, they do not support efficiently the characteristics of C++ language. Our C++ code generator supports one-to-many relationship, aggregation relationship, code patterns and design patterns. In this paper, we describe design and implementation of the efficient C++ code generator based on UML class diagram.
Platelets play an essential role in hemostasis through aggregation and adhesion to vascular injury sites but their unnecessary activation can often lead to thrombotic diseases. Upon exposure to physical or biochemical stimuli, remarkable platelet shape changes precede aggregation or adhesion. Platelets shape changes facilitate the formation and adhesion of platelet aggregates, but are readily reversible in contrast to the irrevocable characteristics of aggregation and adhesion. In this dynamic phenomenon, complex molecular signaling pathways and a host of diverse cytoskeleton proteins are involved. Platelet shape change is easily primed by diverse pro-thrombotic xenobiotics and stimuli, and its inhibition can modulate thrombosis, which can ultimately contribute to the development or prevention of thrombotic diseases. In this review, we discussed the current knowledge on the mechanisms of platelet shape change and also pathological implications and therapeutic opportunities for regulating the related cytoskeleton dynamics.

Today, smart grids, smart homes, smart water networks, and intelligent transportation, are infrastructure systems that connect our world more than we ever thought possible and are associated with a single concept, the Internet of Things (IoT). The number of devices connected to the IoT and hence the number of traffic flow increases continuously, as well as the emergence of new applications. Although cutting-edge hardware technology can be employed to achieve a fast implementation to handle this huge data streams, there will always be a limit on size of traffic supported by a given architecture. However, recent cloud-based big data technologies fortunately offer an ideal environment to handle this issue. Moreover, the ever-increasing high volume of traffic created on demand presents great challenges for flow management. As a solution, flow aggregation decreases the number of flows needed to be processed by the network. The previous works in the literature prove that most of aggregation strategies designed for smart grids aim at optimizing system operation performance. They consider a common identifier to aggregate traffic on each device, having its independent static aggregation policy. In this paper, we propose a dynamic approach to aggregate flows based on traffic characteristics and device preferences. Our algorithm runs on a big data platform to provide an end-to-end network visibility of flows, which performs high-speed and high-volume computations to identify the clusters of similar flows and aggregate massive number of mice flows into a few meta-flows. Compared with existing solutions, our approach dynamically aggregates large number of such small flows into fewer flows, based on traffic characteristics and access node preferences. Using this approach, we alleviate the problem of processing a large amount of micro flows, and also significantly improve the accuracy of meeting the access node QoS demands. We conducted experiments, using a dataset of up to 100,000 flows, and studied the performance of our algorithm analytically. The experimental results are presented to show the promising effectiveness and scalability of our proposed approach.

This study analyzes the effect of floating population, locational characteristics and spatial autocorrelation on foodservice sales using big data provided by the Seoul Institute. Although big data provided by public sector is growing recently, research difficulties are occurred due to the difference of aggregation units of data. In this study, the aggregation unit of a dependent variable, sales of foodservice is SKT unit but those of independent variables are various, which are provided as the aggregation unit of Korea National Statistical Office, administration dong unit and point. To overcome this problem, we convert all data to the SKT aggregation unit. The spatial error model, SEM is used for analysing spatial autocorrelation. Floating population, the number of nearby workers, and the area of aggregation unit effect positively on foodservice sales. In addition, the sales of Jung-gu, Yeongdeungpo-gu and Songpa-gu are less than that of Gangnam-gu. This study provides implications for further study by showing the usefulness and limitations of converting aggregation units of heterogeneous spatial data.
The data on the striped rice, borer populations, collected in the four years from 1973 to 1976, was reanalyzed to study the characteristics in the aggregation pattern of the insect larvae in the paddy fields. The distribution pattern of the larvae was well fitted to the negative binomial model in both the first and the second generation. With reference to the Green's coefficient of dispersion estimated, the aggregation of the larvae was categorized into three phases: initial high aggregation, changing, and dispersed stable phase. Except the changing phase, each phase in each generation could be defined by a common k. The phase-change was initiated by the larval dispersal between hills of the rice plants: the larvae of the third stage and those of the fifth stage, for the first and second generation, respectively. The characteristics of the aggregation pattern were stable in the second generation. In the first genaration, the pattern was more or less variable, indicating that the life system of the insect in the first generation was more susceptible to the variations of the external physical factors than that in the second generation.
