This study is to derive from the required performances and the optimum mix proportion of the roof concrete placed in the in-ground LNG storage tank with a capacity of 200000 $m^3$, and propose the actual data for site concrete work. The concrete placing work without sliding and segregation in the fresh concrete condition is very important because the slope of domed roof is varied in the large range by its curvature. Also the control of hydration heat and the strength development at test ages are classified with massive section about 1.4 m thick and considered to the pre-stressing work and removal of air support after concrete placing work. Considering above condition, slump range is selected $100{\pm}25$ mm under the slope $20^{\circ}$ and $150{\pm}25$ mm over the slope $20^{\circ}$ s until 60 minutes of elapsed time. Also, the roof concrete is satisfied with compressive strength range including design strength at 91 days (30 MPa), pre-stressing work at 7 days (10 MPa), air support removal work at 21 days (14 MPa). Replacement ratio of limestone powder is determined by confined water ratio test and main design factors include water-cement ratio (W/C), sand-aggregate ratio and dosage of admixture. As test results, the optimum mix proportion of the roof concrete used low heat cement is as followings. 1) Replacement ratio of limestone powder 25% by confined water ratio test 2) Water-cement ratio 57.8% 3) Sand-aggregate ratio 42.0%. Also, test results for the adiabatic temperature rising test is satisfied with its criteria and shown the lower value compared to preceding storage tank (TK-13, 14). These required performances and the optimum mix proportion is to apply the actual construction work.
Existing arterial link travel time estimation methods relying on either aggregate point-based or individual section-based traffic data have their inherent limitations. This paper demonstrates the utility of data fusion for improving arterial link travel time estimation. If the data describe traffic conditions, an operator wants to know whether the situations are going better or worse. In addition, some traffic information providing strategies require predictions of what would be the values of traffic variables during the next time period. In such situations, it is necessary to use a prediction algorithm in order to extract the average trends in traffic data or make short-term predictions of the control variables. In this research. a multi-step ahead prediction algorithm using Data fusion was developed to predict a link travel time. The algorithm performance were tested in terms of performance measures such as MAE (Mean Absolute Error), MARE(mean absolute relative error), RMSE (Root Mean Square Error), EC(equality coefficient). The performance of the proposed algorithm was superior to the current one-step ahead prediction algorithm.

Objectives: The purpose of this case study is to assess workers' exposure to carbon nanotubes(CNTs) and characterize particles aerosolized during the process of producing CNT-enabled polytetrafuoroethylene(PTFE) composites at a worksite in Korea. Methods: Personal breathing zone and area samples were collected for determining respirable concentrations of elemental carbon(EC) using NIOSH(National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) Method 5040. Personal exposure to nano-sized particles was measured as the number concentration and mean diameter using personal ultrafine particle monitors. The number concentration by particle size was measured using optical particle sizers(OPS) and scanning mobility particle sizers(SMPS). Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) area samples were collected on TEM grids and analyzed to characterize the size, morphology, and chemistry of the particles. Results: Respirable EC concentrations ranged from 0.04 to 0.24 ㎍/㎥, which were below 23% of the exposure limit recommended by NIOSH and lower than background concentrations. Number concentrations by particle size measured using OPS and SMPS were not noticeably elevated during CNT-PTFE composite work. Instant increase of number concentrations of nano-sized particles was observed during manual sanding of CNT-PTFE composites. Both number concentrations and mean diameters did not show a statistically significant difference between workers handing CNT-added and not-added materials. TEM analyses revealed the emission of free-standing CNTs and CNT-PTFE aggregate particles from the powder supply task and composite particles embedded with CNTs from the computer numerical control(CNC) machining task with more than tens of micrometers in diameter. No free-standing CNT particles were observed from the CNC machining task. Conclusions: Significant worker exposure to respirable CNTs was not found, but the aerosolization of CNTs and CNT-embedded composite particles were observed during handing of CNT-PTFE powders and CNC machining of CNT-PTFE composites. Considering the limited knowledge on the toxicity of CNTs and CNT composite particles to date, it seems prudent to take a precautionary approach for the protection of workers' health.
In order to minimize the mycelial pellet formation, one of the critical obstacles during the fermentation processes of filamentous fungi, an investigation was focused on the culture conditions(media and initial inoculum) and additives(soils, surfactants and polyethylene glycol 200) when a high phosphate-dissolving fungus, Penicillium sp. GL-101, was cultured in liquid media. Culturing the strain in PDB, SDB and YPD media, their pellet sizes decreased to the order of YPD > SDB > PDB. And at the high concentrations of the initial inoculum in the range from $1{\times}10^3\;to\;1{\times}10^6$ conidia/ml, the small sizes of pellet were formed in the PDB media. For the initial inoculum between $1{\times}10^7\;and\;1{\times}10^8$ conidia/ml, however, an amorphous pellet or loose aggregate was formed. The addition of soils, zeolite and diatomite, up to 1.0% decreased the pellet sizes to 3/4 and 1/2, respectively, but the pellet was increased to 2.5 times by the addition of bentonite. Surfactants also affected on the size of pellet; the addition of Triton X-100 and Tween 80 up to 1.0% decreased the pellet sizes maximally to 1/10 and 1/4, respectively, while SDS completely inhibited the fungal growth. Among the four additives tsted, polyethylene glycol 200 was the most effectively reduced the pellet sizes to $0.2{\pm}0.1$mm that resulted in about 25- fold reduction compared to the control.

The recent keyword advertising does not reflect the individual customer searching pattern because it is focused on each keyword at the aggregate level. The purpose of this research is to observe processes of customer searching patterns. To be specific, individual deal-proneness is mainly concerned. This study incorporates location as a control variable. This paper examines the relationship between customers' searching patterns and probability of purchase. A customer searching session, which is the collection of sequence of keyword queries, is utilized as the unit of analysis. The degree of deal-proneness is measured using customer behavior which is revealed by customer searching keywords in the session. Deal-proneness measuring function calculates the discount of deal prone keyword leverage in accordance with customer searching order. Location searching specificity function is also calculated by the same logic. The analyzed data is narrowed down to the customer query session which has more than two keyword queries. The number of the data is 218,305 by session, which is derived from Internet advertising agency's (COMAS) advertisement managing data and the travel business advertisement revenue data from advertiser's. As a research result, there are three types of the deal-prone customer. At first, there is an unconditional active deal-proneness customer. It is the customer who has lower deal-proneness which means that he/she utilizes deal-prone keywords in the last phase. He/she starts searching a keyword like general ones and then finally purchased appropriate products by utilizing deal-prone keywords in the last time. Those two types of customers have the similar rates of purchase. However, the last type of the customer has middle deal-proneness; who utilizes deal-prone keywords in the middle of the process. This type of a customer closely gets into the information by employing deal-prone keywords but he/she could not find out appropriate alternative then would modify other keywords to look for other alternatives. That is the reason why the purchase probability in this case would be decreased Also, this research confirmed that there is a loyalty effect using location searching specificity. The customer who has higher trip loyalty for specificity location responds to selected promotion rather than general promotion. So, this customer has a lower probability to purchase.
This paper examined the relationship between innovation and firm performance by integrating industry competitive context and firm-level knowledge constructs. After controlling for firm site, age, and the presence of a union, cross-section analysis of survey data from 1,419 medium sized manufacturing firms yielded following findings. The first was the expected positive relationship between firm-level innovation and firm knowledge and also industry dynamism, as measured by the intensity of industry-level R&D. This results indicate that industries with greater aggregate levels of R&D intensity are home to higher rates of firm-level innovative activity and managers must increase their numbers of technical staff and the level of training. But the interaction between firm knowledge and industry dynamism was non-significant. Second, innovation was not significantly related to firm performance, as measured by revenue growth. This relationship was not moderated by industry dynamism and firm level knowledge. In high and low technology sectors, the relationship between innovation and performance was non-significant, consistent with the full-sample analysis. The results suggest that the effects of firm-level knowledge assets and investments in training don't work in different ways in different industry settings. This research used three control variables to analyze innovation and firm performance. Firm age was negatively associated with firm performance and did not significantly predict innovation. Firm size was positively associated with innovation and performance in the low-technology sector. The presence of a labor union was not a significant with respect to innovation.
Long term performance of concrete pavement significantly depends on the given construction and environmental condition. It means that random cracks and extreme crack width due to inappropriate quality control at the early age might lead to decreasing the pavement service life. The temperature and moisture during the construction, cement and aggregate types, curing condition are major components to affect the quality of the concrete pavement at the early age. First of all, the high temperature differential, that is made by increasing air temperature and the heat of cement hydration, is known as the major contributor to severe cracks. In this study, tent covering was used for controlling temperature of the concrete slab. The field measurement data indicates that the effect of the tent covering is very significant to decrease possibilities of random crack occurrence and curling stress and enhance the long-term concrete strength. HIPERPAV(High PERformance PAVing software), a program predicting the strength and stress of an earty-age concrete pavement (72 hour after placement), is used for simulating the effects of tent covering. The HIPERPAVE results showed that the section with the tent covering has higher reliability than the section without the tent covering by 22.5%. In details, reliability is increased 72.5% (without the tent covering) to 95% (with the tent covering).
Fiber is an important ingredient in fiber-reinforced cement composite (FRCC) which can control fracture of cement composite by bridging action. In compliance with the action of the fiber and the aggregate size, it also showed a different failure mechanism. For practical application, it is needed to investigate the fracture behavior of the FRCC and to understand the micro-mechanism of cement matrix with reinforcing fiber. In order to evaluate a characteristics of fracture process in the FRCC, acoustic emission (AE) technique was used for the analysis and evaluation of FRCC damage by acoustic emission under flexural and cyclic compressive loadings. The AE signals were monitored by AMSY4 AE instrument during the entire loading period. The specimens are reinforced with 0, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0% (by volume) Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fiber. The test results showed that the damage progress of the FRCC was characteristic for the fiber replacement ratio. As a result of analyzing the felicity ratio (FR) values, it is shown that this values can be used for evaluating the degree of FRCC damage. On the whole the felicity ratio values of FRCC are shown between 0.4 and 1.1. And, the AE kaiser effect was shown in the all FRCC specimen. In addition, the damage behavior and the microscopic fracture process of the FRCC are evaluated using the AE parameters, such as calm ratio, b-value and felicity ratio. The purpose of this reserch was to advance the state of knowledge regarding the applicability of acoustic emission as an evaluation method for FRCC.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of a range of acidic pH values on the push-out bond strength and surface morphology of tricalcium silicate materials: Biodentine$^{(R)}$, Theracal$^{(R)}$ and ProRoot MTA$^{(R)}$. The standardized lumens of root slices prepared from extracted single-root human teeth were filled with Biodentine$^{(R)}$, Theracal$^{(R)}$ and ProRoot MTA$^{(R)}$ according to manufacturer's instructions. The specimens were randomly divided into 4 groups (n = 20) for each material and then incubated for 4 days at $37^{\circ}C$; 3 acidic groups (butyric acid buffered at pH 4.4, 5.4, 6.4) and 1 control group (phosphate buffered saline solution at pH 7.4). The push-out bond strengths were then measured by using a universal testing machine and the surface morphology of each experimental group was analyzed by a scanning electron microscope. Biodentine$^{(R)}$ and Theracal$^{(R)}$ showed higher push-out bond strength compared with ProRoot MTA$^{(R)}$ after exposure to acidic pH values. A substantial change in the surface morphology of each material occurred after exposure to different pH values. In conclusion, the push-out bond strengths of Biodentine$^{(R)}$ and Theracal$^{(R)}$ are higher than the ProRoot MTA$^{(R)}$. Further the acidic environment weakens the push-out bond strength and microstructure of tricalcium silicate materials.
Evaluation of wind erodibility for the Saemangeum Reclamation Project area based on the wind erosion equation, WEQ, was attempted. Climatic factor was calculated with the climatic data for the Kunsan area, and soil erodibility factor was evaluated with the 108 soil samples collected from the project area. The soil erodibility evaluated from the non erodible aggregate percentage greater than 0.84 mm for the soil samples collected was $204.1Mg\;ha^{-1}\;yr^{-1}$ ranged from 50.08 to $642.37ha^{-1}\;yr^{-1}$. The annual climate factor based on the meteorological data in Kunsan was 3.67. The average amount of wind erosion with climate factor C from the climatic data from Kunsan and soil erodibility factor l from the soil in the project area was 7.49 Mg $ha^{-1}$$yr^{-1}$ ranged from 1.84 Mg $ha^{-1}$$yr^{-1}$ for silty clay loam soil to 23.57 Mg $ha^{-1}$$yr^{-1}$ for sandy soil. The intensive wind erosion control should be needed for friable sand and loamy sand soils in the area.
