일-가정 양립을 위한 가족친화경영정책 연구 (A Study on Policies towards Reconciling Work and Family Life)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine support policies regarding work and family reconciliation, to suggest plans to improve workplace policies, and to suggest directions for further studies. This study looks at OECD's work-life reconciliation policies as well as family friendly workplace policies in Korea to find a way to enhance business' receptiveness and implementation of the policies. By examining women's labor conditions, this study finds that family friendly workplace policies are necessarily imminent in our society of low fertility and ageing. Along with the evaluation of benefit level and the effectiveness of current policies, this study uses data from interviews with working mothers who have had the experience of family friendly benefits. The results of the analyses suggest that the government should focus on improving the workplace environment in companies that do not show bias against the use of family friendly policies. In order to farm more successful policies, future studies are needed to analyze the changes of fertility, working conditions, support programs, and benefits.

Nanoscopic Morphological Changes in Yeast Cell Surfaces Caused by Oxidative Stress: An Atomic Force Microscopic Study

  • Nanoscopic changes in the cell surface morphology of the yeasts Saccharomyces cerevisiae (strain NCYC 1681) and Schizosaccharomyces pombe (strain DVPB 1354), due to their exposure to varying concentrations of hydrogen peroxide (oxidative stress), were investigated using an atomic force microscope (AFM). Increasing hydrogen peroxide concentration led to a decrease in cell viabilities and mean cell volumes, and an increase in the surface roughness of the yeasts. In addition, AFM studies revealed that oxidative stress caused cell compression in both S. cerevisiae and Schiz. pombe cells and an increase in the number of aged yeasts. These results confirmed the importance and usefulness of AFM in investigating the morphology of stressed microbial cells at the nanoscale. The results also provided novel information on the relative oxidative stress tolerance of S. cerevisiae and Schizo pombe.

노화된 천연고무의 유전특성에 미치는 가황의 영향 (Influence of the Vulcanization on the Dielectric Proper ties of the Ageing Natural Nubber)

  • The dielectric properties of natural rubber are very important to investigate the molecular structure. The charcteristics of the dielectric absorption in aging natural rubber were studied in the range of frequency from $1{\times}10^3Hz\;to\;3.2{\times}10^7Hz$ at the temperature of $23^{\circ}C$. As the results, it has been confirmed that in the case of aged NR vulcanized specimen with contained sulfur 2 phr above the specimens exhibit two kind of dielectic losses due to the the dipole polarization by impurities and sulfurs, and of raw rubber exhibit the kind of losses due the to dipole polarization. Particularly, it has been affirmed that the dielectric loss spectrum of the aging natural rubber is larger than that the natural rubber, and the dielectric strength of the aging natural rubber drop depreciate respctively.

Prediction of Life Time of Rail Rubber Pad using Reliability Analysis Method

  • Railpad prevents damage of the tie and ballast by reducing the impact and high frequency vibration, which occurs when a vehicle load transfers to a tie. But elasticity of the railpad can decrease under vehicle load and over usable period. If that happens, railpad will become stiffer. Increase in stiffness of the railpad also translates into a rise in track maintenance cost because it accelerates the damage of the track. In this study, accelerated heat ageing test was performed to predict an expectable lifetime of the railpad. As a result, it was predicted to be about sixteen years at $25^{\circ}C$ that life time of railpad using NR rubber from Arrhenius relationship. Also, it was predicted to be about thirty-two days at $100^{\circ}C$. At this time, a standard rate of thickness change is approximately within 12%.

  • 1. The effect of reactive type antioxidant, G-1 in comparism to ordinary antioxidant, SP, which are used for NR and SBR has teen studied, and its recipes are equal. The effects against ozone aye been shown that ill ordinary antioxidant, SBR, no an particular effect both for NR and SBR was found, where as in reactive type, considerable influence was recogniged particulary in dynamic ozone test. 2. The influence of reactive antioxidants on velcanization has been studied by means of Mooney viscometer and Rheometer. 3. The ageing properties of vulcanizates containing reactive antioxidant have been studied in terms of tensile strength.

한국산 야생 생쥐(Mus musculus subspecies)에서 Chiasma, Univalent 및 X-Y 염색체 조기 분리에 관한 연구

  • 한국산 야생 생쥐(Mus muscurus subspecies)와 동계교배 계통인 BALB/c의 정모세포에서 감수분열에 따른 염색체의 chiasma 말단화 여부와 chiasma 빈도, X-Y 염색체의 조기 분리 빈도 등을 조사하였다 한국산 야생 생쥐에서는 chiasma 말단화가 일어나지 않는 것으로 나타나 말단 chiasma는 말단 부위에 특이적으로 생긴 chiasma로 생각되며, chiasma 빈도의 감소와 univalent 빈도의 증가에 관한 ageing의 영향도 관찰되지 않았다. 불임개체에서 X-Y 염색체 조기 분리가 낮은 빈도로 나타나 동계교배 계통과는 다소 상반된 결과를 보였고, chiasma 빈도는 한국산 야생 생쥐가 동계교배 계통에 비해 다소 높게 나타났으며 복사기, 이동기 및 중기 1을 거치는 동안 거의 일정한 수준을 보여주었다. 또한 한국산 야생 생쥐에서 특징적으로 개재 chiasma 빈도 보다 말단 chiasma 빈도가 높게 나타났으며 이에 대해서는 부가적인 연구가 뒤따라야 할 것으로 사료된다.

  • Urban Railway was used importantly with transport for several decades. This transportation facilities used electricity. When the breakdown occurs, social, the economic loss is enormous. In addition to, the power equipment was ageing. We need preventive diagnostic monitoring system in order to prevent breakdown of power equipment. In this paper, we investigates characteristic and breakdown type of the Urban Railway power equipment. Through the this research, we can contribute in the operation which power equipment is efficient of the Urban Railway.

SOME POWER UPRATE ISSUES IN NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS

  • Issues and themes concerned with nuclear power plant uprating are examined. Attention is brought to the fact that many candidate nuclear power plants for uprating have anyway been operated below their rated power for a significant part of their operating life. The key issues remain safety and reliability in operation at all times, irrespective of the nuclear power plant's chronological or design age or power rating. The effects of power uprates are discussed in terms of material aspects and expected demands on the systems, structures and components. The impact on operation and maintenance methods is indicated in terms of changes to the ageing surveillance programmes. Attention is brought to the necessity checking or revising operator actions after power up-rating has been implemented.

  • There is now increasing evidence that free radicals and active oxygen species are involved in a variety of pathological events. often associated with ageing. Free radical-mediated cell damage and free radical attack on polyunsaturated fatty acids result in the formation of lipid radicals. These lipid radicals react readily with molecular oxygen to produce peroxy radicals responsible for initiating lipid peroxidation. The peroxidation of cellular membrane lipid can lead to cell necrosis and considered to be implicated in a number of pathophysiological conditions as well as in the toxicity of many xenobiotics.
