In contemporary architecture, Environment is not just a non-objective space. It is an experimental space where physical space and the principal result of interaction and order have been granted in symbolic, introverted space. Therefore, Yokohama International Port Terminal characteristics that appear in the architectural space, the nature of human desires and reveal the value of user-centered criteria to classify the type of response characteristics of the affordance are as follows; First, the experience response in the affordance reaction is when users reaction is multiple in theenvironment. Second, the evolution of organic reactions in a public space system is that it shows the spatial characteristics of the functional relationships. Third, the organic of space that can be seen through cultural practice in the inside and outside of the space could be explained as a perceptual response. It can be an opportunity to analyzed and develop in a various forms of space in environmental design if we understands the spatial characteristics of FOA's Yokohama International Port Terminal and applied end user spatial reaction analysis that shows an affordance relationship study.

This study examines the effect of VMD (Visual merchandising) of unmanned stores and the affordance of unmanned systems on a customer's value and intention of revisit. The proposed research model and developed hypotheses were tested using structural equations modeling based on data collected from 297 customers with experience in unmanned stores. The results of the study confirm the positive effects of the unmanned system's affordance and unmanned stores' VMD on customer value. In addition, there is a positive relationship between a customer's value and intention of revisit. The study provides valuable insights into the sustainability of unmanned stores after post-COVID 19 and the importance of developing unmanned stores' VMD and affordance.
The research was carried out to be part of a mathematics app stimulation that enables the elderly to learn mathematics by using Smart devices. Particularly appropriate method / function that leads to learning is very important for people who are not accustomed to Smart devices like the elderly. The research was conducted to build affordance strategy based on the consideration of characteristics of senior learners. It aims to achieve both the goals of education through mathematics learning materials provided by smart devices and also to improve user convenience. It suggests cognitive, physical and sensory features and factors to improve affordance of Smart learning system.
In large-scale crowd simulations, it is very important for the decision-making system of manipulating interactive behaviors to minimize the computational cost for controlling realistic behaviors such as collision avoidance. In this paper, we propose a large-scale realtime crowd simulation method using the affordance and navigation potential fields such as attractive and repulsive forces of electromagnetic fields. In particular, the model that we propose locally handles the realistic interactions between agents, and thus radically reduces the cost of expensive computation on interactions which has been the most problematic in crowd simulation. Our method is widely applicable to the expression and analysis of various crowd behaviors that are needed in behavior control in computer games, crowd scenes in movies, emergent behaviors of evacuation, etc.
In the coming 21st centuries, words of development of information communication technology among the key words being emerged as an important concern have been talked about frequently and ubiquitous environment that helps human living being networked with humans, objects and environments has been rapidly progressed, influencing significantly over the various fields as well as architectural area. The future housing delicately add using technology and AR system which is an essential element. The purpose of this study is to production and using each element and develop one-step advanced the hybrid system space. We have to select the best way of the construction future housing.
In order to unravel the problems of the mind, today's cognitive science has expanded its perspective from the narrow framework of the past computer model or neuronal network model to the wider frameworks of interaction with the brain in interaction with the body in interaction with their environments. The theories of 'the extended mind', 'embodied mind', or 'enactive mind' appeared through such processes are working on a way to move into the environments while the problem to unravel the complex process of interactions between the mind, the body and the environments are left alone. This problem can be traced back as far as to Gibson and Maturana & Varela who tried at first to unravel the problem of the mind in terms of interaction between the brain, the body and there environments in 1960~70s. It's because Gibson stressed the importance of the 'affordance' provided by the environment while Maturana & Varela emphasized the 'autonomy' of auto-poiesis of life. However, it will be proper to say that there are invariants in the affordances provided by the environment as well as the autonomy of life in the state of structural coupling of the environment's variants and life's openness toward the environment. In this case, the confrontational points between Gibson and Maturana & Varela will be resolved. In this article, I propose Benjamin's theory of mimesis as a mediator of both theories. Because Benjamin's concept of mimesis has the process of making a constellation of the embodiment of the affordance and the enaction of new affordance into the environment at the same time, Gibson's concept of the affordance and Maturana & Varela's concept of embodiment and enaction will be so smoothly interconnected to circulate through the medium of Benjamin's concept of mimesis.

Drawing on gamification affordance theory, this study examines the relationships among key affordances of avatar fashion styling, perceived enjoyment, and engagement behavior intentions-defined as the intention to share content on avatars in the metaverse platform-and the moderating role of metaverse familiarity. Based on survey data collected from 198 Korean ZEPETO users with avatar fashion styling experience, the hereby proposed research model was tested with structural equation modeling. The results demonstrated that self-expression and competition positively influenced perceived enjoyment, which subsequently affected customers' engagement behavior intention. Furthermore, metaverse familiarity as a moderating effect intensified the positive association between affordances and perceived enjoyment as well as between perceived enjoyment and engagement behavior intentions. The individual interaction effect of each affordance dimension on perceived enjoyment was different, with self-expression having a greater influence on enjoyment among the high-familiarity group and competition having a greater influence on enjoyment among the low-familiarity group. Considering that users with low metaverse familiarity might have higher needs for social interaction for adaptation, competition, being more socially triggering, might have affected these users more crucially.
This paper provides an integrated view on human and system interaction in advanced and automated systems, which adopting computerized multi-functional artifacts and complicated organizations, such as nuclear power plants, chemical plants, steel and semi-conduct manufacturing system. As current systems have advanced with various automated equipments but human operators from various organizations are involved in the systems, system safety still remains uncertain. Especially, a human operator plays an important role at the time of critical conditions that can lead to catastrophic accidents. The knowledge on human error helps a risk manager as well as a designer to create and control a more credible system. Several human error theories were reviewed and adopted for forming the integrated perspective: gulf of execution and evaluation; risk homeostasis; the ironies of automation; trust in automation; design affordance; distributed cognition; situation awareness; and plan delegation theory. The integrated perspective embraces human error theories within three levels of human-system interactions such as affordance level, psychological logic level and trust level. This paper argued that risk management process should dealt with human errors by providing (1) reasoning improvement; (2) support to situation awareness of operators; and (3) continuous monitoring on harmonization of human system interaction. This approach may help people to understand risk of human-system interaction failure characteristics and their countermeasures.

Modeling and simulation of human-involved complex systems pose challenges to representing human decision makings into logical systems because of the nondeterministic and dynamic nature of human behaviors. In modeling perspectives, human's activities in systems can increase uncertainty and complexity, because he or she can potentially access all other resources within the system and change the system states. To address all of these human involvements in the system, this research suggests applying the Finite State Automata (FSA)-based formal modeling of human-involved systems that incorporates the ecological concept of affordances to an evacuation simulation, so that human behavioral patterns under urgent and dynamic emergency situations can be considered in the real-time simulation. The proposed simulation methodologies were interpreted using the warehouse fire evacuation simulation to clarify the applicability of the proposed methodology. This research is expected to merge system engineering technologies and human factors, and come out to the new predictive modeling methodology for disaster simulations. This research can be applied to a variety of applications such as building layout designs and building access control systems for emergency situations.
