  • The visual expression of deconstructive graphic design influenced by postmodernism differs from the traditional ways of graphic expression that consist of precise images and text and is challenging and highly experimental. The characteristics of the formative nature of such deconstructive graphic design emphasized the importance of the reader as the principal agent of aesthetic experience in the appreciation of works. For this study, a new ideological framework was developed regarding the ambiguity arising due to visual experimentation in deconstructive graphic design, assuming the central theory to be the Reception Theory (Aesthetics of Reception) centering around the recipient who is the reader. The characteristics of Iser's Reception Theory are substituted as a theoretical category and an interpretation of the works of ambiguity in deconstructive graphic design is carried out. Although Aesthetics of Reception is a literary theory about the interaction between the artist and the reader, as a method for interpreting deconstructive graphic design influenced by postmodernism, it laid a theoretical foundation and enriched the interpretation of works. Moreover, the four characteristics of Iser's Reception Theory were used to create a framework that suggested a new direction for the approach based on the reader's interaction in the process of interpreting works of modern graphic design.

  • In comtemporary interior design, hybrid form causes cognitive turnovers of aesthetics. Especially it offers much possibility to expression techniques in interior design and works as compound system, symbolic aggregate that makes and expands various meanings. The aesthetic ideology of hybrid design can be interpreted through the philosphic concept of art, sublime, reception, representation and explains expression techniques and characteristic in interior design through various transformation and meaning conversion. The expression techinique that is a form of openness, transcendental interpretation that exceed a dupilicate of meaning. can be classified as oxymoron, defamiliarization and interface. The characteristic that is based on those expressions appears as use of complex codes of visual images, decoding strategy, intertextuality of meaning. This research attitude can explain the thinking method of interior design by defining the epistemological scheme that is basically involved in expressional styles with characteristics of hybrid aesthetics. In order to be recognized as the object of aesthetics, hybrid has to be approached by interpretational methods of expression techniques. Consequently the characters of expression techniques in hybrid design can be investigated as one of the methodology in interior design plan.

  • The relationship between architects and users has been multifarioiusly changed through architectural history. From the viewpoint of using a building, users who experience and interpret the building are as important as architects who design it. In the past, architects are not interested in the role of users. Modern architects only emphasized the concepts of users based on efficiency, and therefore users had the passive role following the design intentions in the space architects had created. However, since the end of modern movement, diverse definitions of users have been attempted. Especially the aesthetics of reception reilluminates the role of users neglected in modern movement. Therefore the one-way relationship between architects-buildings are changing into the interactive relationship between architects-buildings-users, and it results from the fact that users have the ability to reinterpret and create architectural space as well. Users have more creative and positive role in architectural space making and architects, too, reflect these trend in their architecture.

  • The paper develops the arguments as to how one should perceive modem theater and how one should categories it, not to mention how one may identify the traits of modern theater. The Contemporary Theater has changed in a way that it is no longer possible to define the genre relying on conventional definitions that we associated with it in the past. The paper in this regard proposes a perspective which by addressing the evolutions that one has seen in the theories of reception and other relevant literary fields may define the very nature of the theater as we Cow it today. The paper is largely based on the aesthetics of reception and the objectivity theory which is based on the decontextualisation, recontextualisation and contextextualisation method that is being more and more commonly used in the field of literary academics of today. The relevancy of this paper rests with the hypothesis that it is by and through using various theories of reception that it is the only true solution as to defining and identifying the characteristics of modem theater.

  • The aesthetics of current dermatology clinics are the main space of dermatology, which is gradually becoming an area of specialty. Paths requiring spatial transition due to the expansion of treatment field in dermatology clinics are currently emerging, meaning that the duty to provide medical and aesthetic environment with high spatial connection must be accompanied. Contrary to past clinics where only functional aspects were emphasized, current clinics require a differentiated environment that considers both aspects of function and aesthetics, centered on the patient. The purpose of this research in this perspective is to study the efficient connection between dermatology and aesthetics, while also analyzing identity factors to indicate design factors differentiated from other functional spaces, to apply them as preliminary data for the planning of dermatology clinics. Based on the above, six dermatology clinics located in Seoul were designated for case studies through field studies. Overall, Aesthetics connected to dermatology clinics legally must have separate business registrations and have alternative entrance ways. Currently however, there were many cases where entrance, waiting, reception and receipt were not separated. there were efforts to partially display identities when analyzing design factors that formed the identity of dermatology clinics. However, there were insufficient cases where visual communication factors such as a clinic's spatial identity, logo, signing system, and applied products were integrated into a coherent theme. At this point when dermatology clinics are becoming brands, all fields must merge for integrated identity effects that go beyond the boundaries of contemporary H.I, to clearly display their identity with the clinics' professional image and consistent concept.

  • This study interpreted a traditional garden of Korea through reception aesthetics. The 'gap' of acceptable aesthetics is found in the 'distance that occurs between writers and readers'. This study aims to interpret this gap between what the writer intends and what the reader expects. Boundaries do not limit traditional spaces in Korea and, therefore, are not limited by characteristics. These characteristics were studied from the perspectives of the author, the work, and the reader. The aspect first looked at the life and ideas of the gardener, the second analyzed the form and structure of the garden, and the last examined writings, from the past and present, of those who appreciated the garden. From the author's perspective, Sosoewon was understood as a garden that embodied the philosophy of Yang Sanbo. Second, the duality and indeterminateness were recognized as two characteristics of this work; artifacts in the garden were arranged in a natural form, and the gardens have indefinite boundaries, so they can be freely expanded and reduced. Finally, from the reader's perspective, it was noted that the beauty of this garden is enhanced through poetry, painting, and writing. Thus, historic gardens of Korea can be open spaces where the meaning of the garden is enriched through the free participation of viewers based on their own ideas.

  • The low-voltage connection box used as a low-voltage transmission line of KEPCO is intended to branch or connect to an underground line. In comparison with the utility considering the aesthetics of the distance, and safety measures are needed. In this paper, temperature and humidity, $CO_2$, water level, acceleration, and vibration sensor are installed inside the underground low voltage handhole, and the sensor data is transmitted to the ground using the Zigbee module. Antenna (Bolted Antenna) for communication with the ground was proposed and the data reception through it was confirmed. In the LF mode and the HEX mode, the transmitted data was confirmed to be a perfect reception success rate. In the case of the bolted antenna, the difference between the ground state and the underwater state was observed as a result of the experiment in the environmental environment. However, It was judged that reception sensitivity was sufficient for communication. The received data could be confirmed through PC based GUI.

  • In order to attain unique aesthetic value, diversity of meanings of Fusion Design, 'openness', requires meaning interpreting process(communication) which harmonizes and combines new codes suggested by authors(senders) and codes interpreted by public(receivers). For this harmony, we should consider all the art aspects(integration of synchronic and diachronic, anti-rationalism ideology, negative concept) that are bases of creativity of Fusion Aesthetics. Moreover, we can approach open thought system of Fusion Design through theories of Entropy and Rhizome. This point of view which allowed a categorical means of natural science theory to be used in design context changed a methodic or interpretative perception. Not only in art interpreting process does Fusion Design take openness as one of its necessary factors but also in creating process, which enables a work of art to be opened at the maximum. In conclusion, the significance of fusion design is to suggest an ideal model of communication abstracted from open art works.

  • The concept of "modernism" has always posed problems in definition from the beginnings of "early-modernism" to our age of post-modernism and multi-culturalism. And yet, the concept has been consistently aligned with the search for new paradigms of thinking about "modernity" as the age experiences it. In this sense, this study tries to explain the meaning of the term "modern," why it still matters in the study of literature, and how to apply it to the examination of Kim Soo-Young′s poems. Kim is one of the leading poets who understood the importance of modernism in the development of Korean modern poetry. But, despite his dedication to the western literary style and modernism, Kim also attempted the renewal of traditional Confucian thought in his poems. The result of such efforts can be seen in poems such as "Difficulties of Confucius ′Everyday Life," in which Kim tries to juxtapose the ancient life of Confucius with life in a much-westernized modern Korea. Another poem "Grass" shows his eagerness to transform traditional eastern aesthetics into a new mode of thinking that encompasses both the influence of the west and changes in 20th-century Korea. Through the study of Kim′s poems in relation to the critical reception of modernism in Korea, we can conclude the following: that Kim led the modernist movement in Korea; that modernism still matters in post-modern Korean literature; and that, because Kin tried to bring together the ideas of western modernism and traditional Confucianism, his poetry not only spoke to his own time but speaks also to our multi-cultural age.

  • The point of departure is the Popularity of the electronic games among the youth generation. This study attempts to make up a questionnaire containing the questions which are intended for the youth generation realistically and at the same time in a meaningful way pedagogically. Any researcher who wants to understand the youth culture at the present time is necessary to approach the youth generation in a positive attitude of learning, so asking the questions to the youth generation is as important as having the answers. That is to say, this paper is not a statistical analysis of the questionnaire, nor a empirical research of youth's reception of the electronic games. Now that the emphasis of the paper is located on the very way of approaching the youth generation concerning the electronic games, this study starts with the university students in the first place because they are in a more advantageous milieu for conversation in the classroom on the subject. To be sure, this study will be able to cover the whole area of primary, junior or senior high-school by way of some modifications. Conclusively, this paper aims at providing with practical ideas of teaching, which immediately can be appropriated into the classroom by the teachers in the actual field, and drawing attention to the potential educational contents of the cultural products. Furthermore, the questionnaire proposed in the paper is meant for the first step towards the aesthetics of the electronic games with a view to the game-imagination.
