항공 정찰용 Step-stare 영상획득 시스템 설계 (Design of the Step-stare Image Gathering System for an Aerial Reconnaissance)

  • This paper presents design and performance validation of a method for motion compensation using fast steering mirror. First of all, the schematics of the Electro Optical/Infra-Red (EO/IR) and step-stare image gathering system for an aerial reconnaissance are introduced. Because of the steering mirror with low inertia so called Back scan mechanism (BSM), the fast step-stare image gathering technique that is required for taking a high-definition still image will be realized. After then, the BSM hardware includes motors and feedback sensors are introduced. Also, the motion profile for BSM will be designed to compensate roll scan motion of the gimbals. At the end of this paper, designed profile and tracking performance of the EO/IR system with BSM will be validated through experiments.

  • Existing studies on the UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle)-based CPS (Cyber Physical System) environment lack forest fire monitoring and forest fire reconnaissance using real-world UAVs. So, it is necessary to monitor forest fires early through CPS based on real-world UAVs with high reliability and resource management efficiency. In this paper presents an MFG (Misstion File Generater) that automatically generates a flight path of an UAV for forest fire monitoring in a CPS environment. MFG generates flight paths based on a hiking trail with a high fire probability due to a true story of an entrant. We have confirmed that the flight path generated by MFG can be applied to the UAV. Also, we have verified that the UAV flies according to the flight path generated by MFG in simulation, with a negligible error rate.

  • A camera module that gathers visual information via aerial observation reconnaissance is equipped inside a gimbal structure. This gimbal structure system must reduce dynamic responses in order to obtain clear images under all circumstances. Among many design specifications for this system, there is MIL-STD-810G as a shock standard. This specification indicates a limitation of the acceleration of the camera module under a base shock excitation on the gimbal structure. The satisfaction of this condition can usually be proved by experiment, because it includes bearings and dynamic isolators made of rubber. Numerical analysis must be proposed for design improvement of the gimbal structure. To achieve this goal, transient response analysis for the base shock excitation was performed using the finite element method. Experimental results were compared with numerical solutions and it is shown that the present method is useful.

  • UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) is an aerial vehicle that can accomplish the mission without pilot. UAV was developed for a military purpose such as a reconnaissance in an early stage. Nowadays usage of UAV expands into a various field of civil industry such as a drawing a map, broadcasting, observation of environment. These UAV, need vision system to offer accurate information to person who manages on ground and to control the UAV itself. Especially LOS(Line-of-Sight) system wants to precisely control direction of system which wants to tracking object using vision sensor like an CCD camera, so it is very important in vision system. In this paper, we propose a method to recognize object from image which is acquired from camera mounted on gimbals and offer information of displacement between center of monitor and center of object.

  • Unmanned helicopter has several abilities such as vertical take off, hovering, low speed flight at a specific altitude. Such vehicles are becoming popular in actual applications such as search and rescue, aerial reconnaissance and surveillance in the case of a large size disaster and forest fire. In this paper, a flight control system was designed for an unmanned helicopter. This paper was concentrated on describing the systematic design, electronic equipments and their interconnections for realizing the autonomous flight and aerial monitoring. A study on the autonomous waypoint navigation and altitude control performance were performed and tested on a test unmanned helicopter and the performance and the feasibility were represented.

  • An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is a powered aerial vehicle that does not carry a human operator, uses aerodynamic forces to provide vehicle lift, can fly autonomously or be piloted remotely, can be expendable or recoverable, and can carry a lethal or non-lethal payload. An UAV is very important weapon system and is currently being employed in many military missions (surveillance, reconnaissance, communication relay, targeting, strike, etc.) in the war. To accomplish UAV's missions, guarantee of survivability should be preceded. The main objective of this study is a local path planning to maximize survivability for UAV on the battlefield of dynamic threats (obstacles, surface-to-air missiles, radar etc.). A local path planning is capable of producing a new path in response to environmental changes. This study suggests a $Smart$ $A^*$ (Smart A-star) algorithm for local path planning. The local path planned by $Smart$ $A^*$ algorithm is compared with the results of existing algorithms ($A^*$ $Replanner$, $D^*$) and evaluated performance of $Smart$ $A^*$ algorithm. The result of suggested algorithm gives the better solutions when compared with existing algorithms.

Such vehicles are becoming popular in actual applications such as search and rescue, aerial reconnaissance and surveillance. These vehicles also used under risky environments without threatening the life of a pilot. Since a small aerial vehicle is very sensitive to environmental conditions, it is generally known that the flight control is very difficult problems. In this paper, a flight control system was designed for an unmanned helicopter. This paper was concentrated on describing the mechanical design, electronic equipments and their interconnections for acquiring autonomous flight. The design methodologies and performance of the helicopter were illustrated and verified with a linearized equation of motion. The LQG based estimator and controller was designed and tested for this unmanned helicopter.

  • 현재 대한민국은 인구절벽 현상에 의한 병역자원의 감소 문제에 직면해 있으며 이에 대응하기 위해 군 구조 개편 및 전력 구조 변화를 추구하고 있다. 육군은 이런 상황 변화에 대한 대응으로 미래 전장을 주도할 드론봇 전투체계의 전력화를 추진하고 있다. 미래의 전장은 지휘통제, 감시정찰, 정밀타격이 결합된 통합 전장 개념으로 전환될 것이며 이러한 변화에 따라 드론봇을 포함한 무인 전투체계가 실전 배치되어, 위험도가 높고 인간이 수행하기 어려운 전투상황에 더욱 광범위하게 적용될 것이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 변화에 대한 대응 방안의 하나로 BDI 아키텍처 기반의 의사 결정 시스템을 가진 자율행동 소프트웨어를 개발하였다. 자율행동 소프트웨어는 다 기종에 대한 적용성 확보를 위해 프레임워크 구조를 적용하였고 대상 무인기를 대대급 감시정찰 무인기로 가정하여 PC기반 환경에서 기능을 검증하였다.

해상 탐지 영상에서의 비행체 표적 선정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Target Selection from Seeker Image of Aerial Vehicle in Sea Environment)

  • We deal with the target selection in seeker-detection image through network, using the detection information from aerial vehicle and the target information from surveillance and reconnaissance system. Especially, we constrain the sea battle environment, where it is difficult to perform scene-matching rather than land. In this paper, we suggest the target selection algorithm based on the confidence estimation with respect to distance and size. In detail, we propose the generation method of reference point for distance evaluation, and we investigate the effect of pixel margin and target course for size evaluation. Finally, the proposed algorithm is simulated and analyzed through several scenarios.
