  • Cigarette warning pictures are one of the most effective smoking cessation policies, and this is an effective way to promote smoking cessation by conveying the risk of smoking through pictures. However, the recent advertisement of new cigarettes in retail stores has potentially increased tobacco purchase intention by weakening the effect of the warning picture. Therefore, this study examined the problems of the new cigarette advertisement method by analyzing the effect of this method on cigarette warning pictures. For this purpose, 275 men and women were surveyed nationwide, and this study compared the cognitive and emotional effects, and purchase intentions of the new cigarette advertisements with existing advertisement methods through MANCOVA. The results show that the new cigarette advertising method affects the emotions, cognitions, and purchase intentions related to the cigarette warning pictures and have adverse effects on the original purpose of the cigarette warning pictures. This implies that regulatory standards and institutional arrangements are necessary for effective new cigarette advertising.

The purpose of this study is to study the influence of the nudge effect. The results of this study have affected the perception of the entity, affected by the ripple effect of the nudge effects.

  • Study objectives are: 1) to investigate the difference in consumer perceptions of the model's image and physical attractiveness according to advertising model types; 2) to explore the effect of the difference between the model's image and the consumer's self image, the difference between the model's image and the brand's image, and the physical attractiveness of the model on attitude toward the advertising model; and 3) to explore the effect of attitude toward the advertising model on attitude toward the advertisement. A total of 306 female consumers over the age of 45 participated in experiments with advertisement stimuli for a senior apparel brand. Results showed a significant difference in the model's images and physical attractiveness according to each model type. The consumer's attitude toward the advertising model was determined by physical attractiveness of the model, not by the difference between model's image and the consumers' self-image, nor by the difference between the model's image and brand image. Attitude toward advertisements was determined by attitude toward the advertising model. The findings imply that advertising models of a senior apparel brand can be selected based on the physical attractiveness of the model. Consumers do not consider whether the model's image fits well with their self-images or the brand's image when building an attitude toward the advertising model, and this precedes the consumer's attitude toward the advertisement. These results can be used as guidelines to select appropriate models for advertisements of senior apparel brands.

Native advertising is considered to be a useful advertising technique in that it can reduce users' rejection and attract attention. However, in recent years, there have been a lot of fake news and fake contents that have turned articles or video contents into advertisements. The purpose of this study is to understand how firms can coordinate and control native advertisements in a rational way. For this analysis, we conducted a survey of 308 social media users using quota sampling method. As a result of the verification, it was found that the more negative the perception of the evaluation of the advertisement, the less the level of persuasion about the advertisement and the negative impact on the website where the advertisement is exposed. In addition, this study examined the influence of the negative stimulus factors on the qualitative performance of the firm. As a result, it was found that source non-expert had the highest effect on skepticism on ad. Also, platform overflow has a direct effect on the evaluation of the website as well as the negative evaluation of the advertisement. Moreover, this study provides concrete implications for the subdivision market by verifying the differences between the paths according to the level of website involvement.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the post-purchase behavior of customers who experienced cognitive dissonance after exposure to a franchise foodservice advertisement. The study adopted cognitive dissonance theory to explain the dissonance resulting from the combination of advertisements and actual product that consumers received. In detail, the research hypothesized that cognitive dissonance will affect consumers' post-purchase behavior as well as their efforts to reduce dissonance. Exactly 274 questionnaires were used in the analysis. The results showed that more than 80% of respondents were influenced by advertisements when purchasing menus, and 50% were unsatisfied when the provided menu "was not the same as the advertisement shown". It was found that advertisement type did not significantly affect either group that experienced dissonance. In terms of satisfaction, however, the former group showed greater dissatisfaction when dissonance occurred (p<.001). Finally, there was a significant difference between the two groups regarding post-purchase behavior (p<.05). Customers with dissonance were likely to 'express dissatisfaction directly to the store', 'leave negative reviews', and 'participate in negative word-of-mouth'. Thus, the results revealed that cognitive dissonance could significantly influence customer satisfaction and consequently lead to negative post-purchasing behaviors.

  • The mobile game industry is currently on the rise and is one of the major industries. Recently, advertisements among mobile games are aimed at branded content, unlike existing advertising content. In this study, we conduct a study on the advertisement effectiveness of the attributes of branded advertisements under a mobile game environment. Therefore, the impact of context congruity, perceived advertising intrusiveness and entertainment on advertising attitude, brand attitude and purchasing intention was verified through experimental research on Chinese mobile game users in the 10s and 20s. Analysis of the PLS structural equation model showed that context congruity and entertainment had a significant impact on advertising attitude, but did not have a significant impact on brand attitude. Perceived advertising intrusiveness has no significant impact on advertising attitude and brand attitude. Finally, advertising attitude had a significant influence on purchase intention through brand attitude. Through these findings, we discuss the effectiveness of mobile game branded advertisement and present effective brand advertising strategies.
