First responders are trained and evaluated using AHA guideline for 4 hours. Data are analyzed by Percentage, Mean, T-test, F-test using SPSS program. The results for this study are as follows: 1. An average score for CPR evaluation is high as 1.71 of total score 2.0. 2. Between adult CPR and infant CPR, an average score for adult CPR is higher than infant CPR. The highest item of adult CPR and infant CPR is checking for unresponse(1.95 and 1.93), the lowest items are checking for circulation and chest compression position in the adult CPR and location of chest compression in the infant CPR 3. There are statistically significant differences in the evaluation score of CPR according to age, education level, occupation, job experience and emergency accident situation in the past.
The purpose of the study was to examine the adaptability of AAI(Adult Attachment Interview) in Korea. The subjects were 20 mothers who had toddlers from middle class. AAI was administrated to them. Interviews were audiotaped and transcribed verbatim. The results showed that Korean Mothers' AAI classifications were Secure-Autonomous(F) 60%, Insecure=Dismissing(Ds) 20%, Insecure-Preoccupied(E) 5%, Insecure-Unresolved/disorganized(U/d) 15%. The classification of AAI was significantly related with mothers' education, but not mothers' age. Autonomous mothers discribed consistently in evaluation of attachment-related experiences and valued attachment. Dismissing mothers showed a incoherent discourse and dismissed attachment-related experiences and relations. Preoccupied mother sticted to past attachment relationship and perplexed with evaluation of these experiences. Unresolved mothers showed lapse during discussion of loss or abuse and were not free from past experiences. Based on the findings of the study, it was found th AAI(Adult Attachment Interview) can be used for evaluation of mother's internal working model in Korean culture.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of an individualized cardiac health education on self-care behavior and serum cholesterol levels patients with coronary artery disease. Methods: Twenty-two patients in the intervention group and 22 in the control group were assigned randomly in this study. The intervention group received an individualized cardiac health education program which consisted of four different sessions for a total of four sessions. Specifically, two sessions occurred during the patients' hospitalization with a third session at the time of discharge with a fourth session scheduled via telephone one week post discharge. Data were collected through a questionnaire for self-care behavior and a blood test for total cholesterol at the time of admission and the two weeks after discharge. The questionnaire for self-care behavior was a standardized instrument and serum cholesterol was measured by Accutrend GC (Roche, Germany). Results: Self-care behavior scores included diet, medication, exercise, risk factor, blood pressure measurement, and visits to hospital were significantly more in the experimental group compared to the control group. Conclusion: The above findings indicate that the individualized cardiac health education was effective in increasing of self-care behavior.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develope and evaluate the effects of an AIDS education program among health care workers on knowledge, attitudes and care intention about AIDS. Methods: This study was conducted by self reporting with a 44 items of structured questionnaire by 291 health care workers. The research was a quasi-experimental study using one group pre-post design. AIDS education program was consisted of phases for 50 minutes, using power point by a researcher and research assistants. Data were collected before and after education and was analyzed by descriptive statistics and paired t-test. Results: The level of general cognition about AIDS was low. There were a statistically significant increases in the mean of knowledge(t=-22.17, p=.000) and care intention(t=-2.74, p=.006). However, there was no significant difference in the mean of attitudes(t=-.57, p=.569) between the pre-post test. Conclusion: The findings of this study showed the benefits of providing educational interventions for improving knowledge and care about AIDS, while there not any significant changes in attitudes, especially in items based on Korean socio-cultural values. Therefore, to increase attitude about AIDS, various teaching strategies need to be further studied and evaluated.

Purpose: To identify the risk factors for suicidal ideation across the life cycle among Korean adults using data from 2015 Korean Psycho-social Anxiety Survey. Methods: The data were statistically analyzed using hierarchical logistic regression analysis. Results: The factors associated with suicidal ideation among the young adult group were education level (odds ratio [OR] 1.62, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.05~2.49), self-esteem (OR 1.19, 95% CI 1.12~1.27), stress (OR 3.26, 95% CI 2.07~5.15), anger control problems (OR 3.58, 95% CI 2.34~5.50), and depression (OR 2.59, 95% CI 1.66~4.04) whereas among the middle-aged adults the factors were education level (OR 1.58, 95% CI 1.12~2.23), existence of a spouse (OR 2.55, 95% CI 1.72~3.78), self-esteem (OR 1.13, 95% CI 1.08~1.18), stress (OR 2.46, 95% CI 1.81~3.33), anger control problems (OR 1.70, 95% CI 1.22~2.36), and depression (OR 2.64, 95% CI 1.91~3.64). Among the older adult group the findings were the existence of a spouse (OR 2.16, 95% CI 1.37~3.39), self-esteem (OR 1.22, 95% CI 1.13~1.32), stress (OR 2.21, 95% CI 1.38~3.54), anxiety (OR 2.42, 95% CI 1.46~4.02), and depression (OR 2.48, 95% CI 1.30~4.72). Conclusion: The findings suggest that there may be a need for different suicide intervention programs to decrease suicidal ideation across the life cycle.
This study showed that the association between solidarity and conflict is mediated by the communication of grandmothers and an adult child at the dyadic level. The common fate model (CFM) was designed to model mediation effects at the level of dyads. Participants consisted of 297 grandmother dyads and their adult child who were rearing preschool-aged grandchildren in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. For analysis at the dyadic level, grandmothers and adults responded to the same questionnaire on the same variables. SPSS 23.0 performed descriptive statistical analysis and correlation analysis. The structural equation model (SEM) was estimated with AMOS 23.0. We tested the mediation model using the maximum likelihood method. Model fit index used the chi-square statistic, the incremental fit index (IFI), the comparative fit index (CFI), the root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA). The statistical significance of the indirect effect was examined using a bootstrapping procedure. The results are as follows. First, in the CFM, the direct effect between solidarity and conflict was significant. Therefore, the higher the solidarity, the lower conflict of grandmothers and an adult child. Second, the association between solidarity and conflict is mediated by communication at the dyadic level. Based on the results of this study, we discussed ways to strengthen the capacity of co-parenting between grandmothers and an adult child.
