정보기술 수용 후 주관적 지각 형성: 사용 경험에서 형성된 습관, 기대일치, 자기효능감의 역할 (What happens after IT adoption?: Role of habits, confirmation, and computer self-efficacy formed by the experiences of use)

  • Researchers have been continuously interested in the adoption of information technology (IT) since it is of great importance to the information systems success and it is also an important stage to the success. Adoption alone, however, does not ensure information systems success because it does not necessarily lead to achieving organizational or individual objectives. When an organization or an individual decide to adopt certain information technologies, they have objectives to accomplish by using those technologies. Adoption itself is not the ultimate goal. The period after adoption is when users continue to use IT and intended objectives can be accomplished. Therefore, continued IT use in the post-adoption period accounts more for the accomplishment of the objectives and thus information systems success. Previous studies also suggest that continued IT use in the post-adoption period is one of the important factors to improve long-term productivity. Despite the importance there are few empirical studies focusing on the user behavior of continued IT use in the post-adoption period. User behavior in the post-adoption period is different from that in the pre-adoption period. According to the technology acceptance model, which explains well about the IT adoption, users decide to adopt IT assessing the usefulness and the ease of use. After adoption, users are exposed to new experiences and they shape new beliefs different from the thoughts they had before. Users come to make decisions based on their experiences of IT use whether they will continue to use it or not. Most theories about the user behaviors in the pre-adoption period are limited in describing them after adoption since they do not consider user's experiences of using the adopted IT and the beliefs formed by those experiences. Therefore, in this study, we explore user's experiences and beliefs in the post-adoption period and examine how they affect user's intention to continue to use IT. Through deep literature reviews on the construction of subjective beliefs by experiences, we draw three meaningful constructs which theoretically have great impacts on the continued use of IT: perceived habit, confirmation, and computer self-efficacy. Then, we examine the role of the subjective beliefs on the cognitive/affective attitudes and intention to continue to use that IT. We set up a research model and conducted survey research. Since IT use implies interactions among a user, IT, and a task, we carefully selected the sample of users using same/similar IT to perform same/similar tasks, to exclude unwanted influences of other factors than subjective beliefs on the IT use. We also considered that the sample of users were able to make decisions to continue to use IT volitionally or at least quasi-volitionally. For each construct, we used measurement items recognized for reliability and widely used in the previous research. We slightly modified some items proper to the research context and a pilot test was carried out for forty users of a portal service in a university. We performed a full-scale survey after verifying the reliability of the measurement. The results show that the intention to continue to use IT is strongly influenced by cognitive/affective attitudes, perceived habits, and computer self-efficacy. Confirmation affects the intention to continue indirectly through cognitive/affective attitudes. All the constructs representing the subjective beliefs built by the experiences of IT use have direct and/or indirect impacts on the intention of users. The results also show that the attitudes in the post-adoption period are formed, at least partly, by the experiences of IT use and newly shaped beliefs after adoption. The findings suggest that subjective beliefs built by the experiences have deep impacts on the continued use. The results of the study signify that while experiencing IT in the post-adoption period users form new beliefs, attitudes, and intentions which may be different from those of the pre-adoption period. The results of this study partly demonstrate that the beliefs shaped by the behaviors, those are the experiences of IT use, influence users' attitudes and intention. The results also suggest that behaviors (experiences) also change attitudes while attitudes shape behaviors. If we combine the findings of this study with the results of the previous research on IT adoption, we can propose a cycle of IT adoption and use where behavior shapes attitude, the attitude forms new behavior, and that behavior shapes new attitude. Different from the previous research, the study focused on the user experience after IT adoption and empirically demonstrated the strong influence of the subjective beliefs formed in the post-adoption period on the continued use. This partly confirms the differences between attitudes in the pre-adoption and in the post-adoption period. Users continuously change their attitudes and intentions while experiencing (using) IT. Therefore, to make users adopt IT and to make them use IT after adoption is a different problem. To encourage users to use IT after adoption, experiential variables such as perceived habit, confirmation, and computer self-efficacy should be managed properly.

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to forage for the factors for explaining the adoption behavior of the mobile convenient payment system based on the Personality Trait, Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology, and Regulatory focus. Design/methodology/approach This study made a design of the research model by integrating the factors of Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology with the factors of Big five personality traits on the basis of Samrt device environment. In addition, this study, did empirical analysis of the structural equation model by PLS(Partial Least Squares) in order to find out the relationship of personal factors and mobile convenient payment system's features. Findings According to the empirical analysis result, this study confirmed that the acceptance of mobile convenient payment systems is influence by personality traits and factors based on Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology and trust. In addition, this study find out that the behavior of an adoption of mobile convenient payment systems according to the type of regulatory focus.

유방자가검진 행위단계에 따른 의사결정균형과 확신성 비교연구 (Difference of Decisional Balance and Confidence in the Stage of Adoption for Breast Self Exam in Married Women)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was 1) to classify the stage of adoption 2) to compare the decisional balance and confidence by stage of adoption 3) to identify factors influenced the stage of adoption for breast self exam. Method: A comparative study using a survey method with convenience sample of 143 women was used. Decisional balance and confidence was measured using the CHBMS-K. Stage of adoption for BSE was measured by a single item modified by the researchers based on the Rakowski et al (1992). Result: 1) The number of women in each stage of adoption for BSE was as follows; maintenance phase, 7.7% (n=11), action phase, 49.0% (n=70), contemplation phase, 35.0% (n=50) and pre- contemplation phase, 8.4%(n=12). 2) The mean difference in the decisional balance (F=4.32, p=.006) and confidence (F=13.85, p=.000) according to the stage of BSE adoption was statistically significant. 3) Prevention education and confidence accounted for 32% of variance in BSE. Conclusion: Assessment of decisional balance and stage of adoption for BSE can guide planning for cancer prevention education. We must educate women to have confidence in BSE. Further, it is important to urge women to continually practice BSE.

  • This study is to establish the validity of EDI adoption model Korean Companies. The research model is hypothesized in the external factors of company directly affect on EDI adoaption and the internal factors of company moderately affect on the direct effect. The external factors of company consists of economic factors, organizational power factors, and technological factor. The internal factors of company consists of the size of the company, innovative tendency of the top management, and maturity of the information technology. In the result of data analysis-the data were collected from a total of 81 companies in 6 industries adopted variables are the existence of EDI standard, transaction frequency, inter-organizational bargaining power, and pressure from industry association. Also size of the company and innovative tendency of the top management in a company's internal factors were adopted as moderate variables.

READINESS OF NIGERIAN BUILDING DESIGN FIRMS TO ADOPT BUILDING INFORMATION MODELLING (BIM) TECHNOLOGIES

  • Building Information Modelling (BIM) has become the new international benchmark for efficiency in design, construction and maintenance of buildings. It is the platform that brings about collaboration between project stakeholders and improvement of project outcomes. With all its potentials, not much of the impact of BIM technologies has been felt in the Nigerian construction industry. This research aimed at assessing the readiness of the Nigerian building design firms to adopt BIM technologies. The research was exploratory in nature. A field survey was conducted with the use of structured questionnaire, self administered to a sample of building design consultancy firms (architectural, structural, M&E, quantity surveying, and multi-disciplinary design firms) within Abuja and Kaduna. The questionnaire sought the perception of the responding firms on the factors affecting BIM adoption in the Nigerian construction industry, and their level of readiness to adopt BIM technologies in their practices based on the four categories of readiness-management, people, process and technology. 42.26% response rate was achieved and used for analysis. ANOVA and DUNCAN post-hoc tests were used to establish the differences between the responses of the groups of firms, while means and standard deviations were obtained to establish the important factors affecting BIM adoption in Nigeria. The survey revealed that all the groups of Nigerian design firms are appreciably ready for the adoption of BIM technologies in their practice, with slight variations in their respective levels of readiness. 'Lack of awareness of BIM technology among professionals' and clients and 'lack of knowledgeable and experienced partners' were identified as the most important barriers of BIM adoption in Nigeria; while the most significant drivers are 'availability of well trained professionals' and 'cooperation and commitment of professional bodies to the adoption'. Education and training of building design professionals and cooperation of all stakeholders in the design and construction supply chain were recommended as part of measures to ensure successful adoption of BIM in the Nigerian construction industry.

미국 위탁아동의 친권상실선고 이후 입양 결정요인에 관한 생존분석 (Timing and Risk Factors of Adoption for Legally-Free Foster Children after Having Parental Rights Terminated in the U. S.)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 미국에서 친권상실이 선고된 위탁아동의 입양률 추이를 살펴보고, 입양결정에 영향을 미치는 주된 요인을 규명하는 데 있다. 본 연구는 미국 위탁보호와 입양에 관한 패널데이터 FY1999-FY2002를 이용하여 1998년 10월부터 2002년 9월까지 32개 주를 추출하여 총 26,895명을 분석에 활용하였다. 사건사 분석의 Kaplan-Meier 분석과 비례적 위험회귀모형(Cox proportional hazards regression model)을 이용하여 친권상실선고 이후 소요되는 위탁기간에 따른 입양률 추이와 위험 입양배율(hazard ratios for adoption)를 산출하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과로는 친권상실선고 이후 3개월-19개월까지 입양률이 급속히 증가하다가 20개월이 지나면서 오히려 감소추세를 보이고 있었다. 입양여부와 관련한 주요 요인으로서는 백인아동일 경우, 나이가 어릴수록, 선입양가족, 도시소재의 위탁보호일 경우, 양부모 위탁가족, 또는 인종적으로 동일한 위탁부모에 의해 위탁보호 될 경우 입양가능성이 상대적으로 높게 나타났다. 또한, 아동이 지체나 장애가 있을 경우, 신체학대나 성학대를 경험한 경우, 친부모의 양육능력부족으로 위탁보호 된 경우 상대적으로 낮은 입양가능성을 보이고 있다. 본 연구결과 친권상실 이전에 발생한 위탁보호 원인이 친권상실 이후에도 입양에 영향을 미치고 있으며, 입양촉진방안으로 친권상실선고 이후 제공된 위탁서비스 활용과 적극적 지원방안 모색의 필요성이 제기되었다. 끝으로 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 한국사회에서 요보호아동의 친권개입의 정책적 방향과 항구적 보호마련을 위한 함의와 제언을 개괄적으로 제시하였다.

National Culture And Its Impacts On Cyber Diplomacy

  • Diffusion of information and communication technologies is a global phenomenon. In spite of rapid globalization there are considerable differences between nations in terms of the adoption and usage of new technologies. Several studies exploring causal factors including national cultures of information and communication technology adoption have been carried out. The focus of this paper is slightly different from other studies in this area. Rather than concentrating on the individual information technology the cyber diplomacy is the focus. This research conducted an analysis of the impact national culture has on adoption of the cyber diplomacy and its components for 95 countries. The national cultural dimensions were identified using Hofstede's model of cultural differences. The research model and hypotheses were formed and tested using correlation and regression analysis. The findings indicate that worldwide cyber diplomacy adoption is related to national culture. The result has theoretical and practical implications.

소비자의 기술혁신 수용유형과 동영상 UCC 서비스 참여수준 (Consumer's Technology Innovation Adoption Type and the Participation Level of Multimedia UCC Services)

  • This study identifies the key determinants and technology innovation adoption type of participation in multimedia UCC services. This research examines how the major factors of perceived usability, self-expression, fun & entertainment, arousal, information sharing, other's positive reputation and interface easiness contribute to participation in multimedia UCC services. A sample survey of internet users was conducted, responses were collected from 629 respondents and consumer streaming data were analyzed. Some of the practical implications of the results are follows. This research have categorized that the types of technology adoption for the participation of UCC were innovator consumer, early adaptor consumer, early majority consumer, and late majority consumer. The results of multiple regression analysis indicated that perceived usability, interface easiness, fun & entertainment, self-expression, arousal, other's positive reputation and type of technology adoption posited a significant effect in multimedia UCC Services.

캐즘이론과 정보기술수용모형을 적용한 디지털 교과서 수용 연구 (A study on the digital textbook acceptance by application of Chasm Theory and Technology Acceptance Model)

  • 본 연구는 디지털 교과서를 수용하는데 영향을 미치는 변인들과 그 구조를 규명하고자 수행되었다. 교사들의 혁신성에 근거하여 디지털 교과서의 수용 전략을 수립하기위해서 캐즘 이론을 검토하고, 디지털 교과서 등 교수매체 수용의 의사결정을 설명하는 정보기술수용모형을 본 연구에 적용하였다. 캐즘이론과 정보기술수용 모형을 토대로 조사도구를 제작하였으며, 신뢰도 및 타당도 검증을 거쳐 혁신성, 지각된 유용성, 지각된 사용용이성, 사용의도 간의 인과적 관계 검증을 수행하였다. 구조방정식(SEM)을 사용하여 본 연구의 구조모형을 검증한 결과 지각된 사용용이성은 지각된 유용성에 직접적인 영향을 미쳤고, 사용의도에는 간접적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 지각된 유용성은 사용의도에 직접적인 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 디지털 교과서 수용을 위한 전략 수립에 구체적인 시사점을 준다. 즉, 디지털 교과서의 일반학교 도입은 보다 신중하게 검토되어야 하며, 인터페이스의 개선과 같은 사용 용이성보다는 디지털교과서의 유용성에 초점을 맞추는 정책적 노력이 필요하다는 것이다.

혁신 기술의 사회적 수용에 대한 영향요인의 탐색 - 스마트 모빌리티(Smart Mobility)를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Factors Influencing the Social Adoption Diffusion of Innovative Technology - Focuse on Smart Molility -)

  • 본 연구는 혁신기술에 대한 사회적 수용의 관점에서 스마트 모빌리티(smart mobility)의 수용에 미치는 영향요인을 탐색하였다. 혁신기술의 사회적 수용과 확산에 관한 이론고찰을 통해 혁신-수용에 미치는 영향요인, 지각된 유용성의 인식과 수용의도에 미치는 일련의 과정에 대한 구조방정식 모형을 설정하고, 이를 실증적으로 분석하였다. 분석에 필요한 자료는 2016년 8월 1일에서 12일 사이에 설문을 통해 수집하였으며, 수집된 534개의 설문이 분석에 이용되었다. 실증분석결과, 적합성과 상대적 이점은 지각된 유용성을 매개로 스마트 모빌리티의 사회적 수용에 통계적으로 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤으나, 의사소통은 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 복잡성과 서비스품질은 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과에 기초하여 스마트 모빌리티의 사회적 수용과 관련된 시사점을 제공하였으며, 본 연구의 한계점과 이를 극복하기 위한 향후 연구방향도 제시하였다.
