This study was planned to provide basic information to help teachers guide lookism-prone students in their home and school life, and to guide them in the unit relating to clothing in school curriculums. To carry out this experiment questionnaires were administered to 481 students in their first and second year in middle and high schools in Gwangju city. The questionnaires are composed of 3 themes; 'general matters', 'attitudes about and recognition of appearance management' and 'school adaptation'. The collected data was analyzed with Component analysis(Varimax rotation) and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, T-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan-test, Pearson's correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS WIN 14.0(Kr). The results of this study were as follows; 1. The more they managed their behavior relating to appearance and cleanliness, the better they felt their friendships. 2. The less they concentrated management relating to appearance, the better they felt about their relationships with their teachers. 3. The less they concentrated management relating to appearance but the more they managed cleanliness the easier they adjusted to school rules. 4. The less they pursued a trendy appearance but the more they managed cleanliness, the better they studied.
Career development of Korean Immigrant Adolescents is important element for their Korea social adjustment and reduction of social exclusion. Especially, vocational identity is considered significantly for their career development. This study investigated the relationships and levels of discrimination, depression, self-esteem on vocational identity by comparing Korean immigrant adolescents and non-Immigrant adolescents(Korean parents family: non poor family or poor family). The major findings of this study can be summarized as follows. First, the depression level of immigrant adolescents is higher than non poor family adolescents and their self-esteem level is lower than non poor family adolescents by means analysis. second, The path analysis and multi group analysis showed that the degree of discrimination by perceived immigrant adolescents had direct influence on vocational identity and also mediated depression, self-esteem as indirect influence. But non poor family adolescents and poor family adolescents showed that their degree of discrimination had only indirect influence on vocational identity as mediation of depression, self-esteem. The result of analysis were used to discuss theoretical, practical implication for career development of Korea immigrant adolescents.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between sleep timing and depressive mood in Korean adolescents. Methods: The study analyzed the data from the 2007~2015 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey. A total of 541,693 students in grades 7~12 were included in the final analysis. Multivariable logistic regression was used to examine their sleep timing and depressive mood, adjusted for sex, grade, region, socioeconomic status, academic performance, alcohol, smoking and physical activity. Sleep duration and sleep quality were also included in our model to identify whether or not the effect of sleep timing on depression is mediated by sleep duration or sleep quality. Results: The prevalence of depressive mood was 32.7% and the mean sleep timing was 12:13 AM. After adjustment for eligible covariates, the association between sleep timing and depressive mood showed a J-shaped curve. Adolescents who slept at 8 pm~10 pm were 39% more likely to be depressive (OR = 1.39, 95% CI 1.30~1.40) and at 3 am~ 4 am were 67% more likely to be depressive (OR=1.67, 95% CI 1.64~1.70) than adolescents who slept at 11 pm~12 am. These associations persisted after being adjusted for sleep duration and sleep quality. Conclusion: Sleep timing was related to depression in adolescents, independent of sleep duration and sleep quality. It appears that there is a certain sleep timing beneficial to mental health of adolescents.
The purpose of this study was to verify the effectiveness of sociodrama on adolescents who are maladjusted in school. For this study, nine adolescents were selected from a middle school located in Seoul. The Inventory of School adjustment by Bae Sook-Jin, Buss-Durkee Hostility Inventory(BDHI) and Impulsivity Test by Eysenck were administered. The experiment group acted out a sociodrama twelve times. The first follow-up test was conducted twelve weeks after the pre-test. The second follow-up test was conducted six weeks after first follow-up test. Each time the adolescents acted out a sociodrama their behavior was recorded by a video- camera and then documented by research assistants. Also in order to discover any changes in daily life after sociodrama, an interview survey were done with the adolescents' teachers. The findings were as follows. First, in the initial follow-up test degree of school-maladjustment was less than in the pre-test. Further decreases in the level of maladjustment were noted in the subsequent follow-ups. Therefore, it can be concluded that the performance of sociodramas can reduce school-maladjustment among adolescents and that this reduced level is maintained. Second, the level of hostility discovered in the first follow-up test was less than that in the pre-test, and this level continued to decrease in the following follow-ups. Therefore, we may conclude that sociodrama that reduces adolescent hostility and the reduced levels continue. Finally, the degree of impulse detected in the first follow-up was, once again, less than that of the pre-test, And, as in the other cases, there was a continued decrease in this level. We may therefore conclude that sociodrama does reduce the impulse of adolescents and that this reduction is maintained. This study indicates that sociodrama is an effective method to improve the psychological characters of adolescents who are maladjusted in school. Given the above, a follow up study is suggested.
The purpose of this study was to analyse the effects of youth depression and aggression and the effects of peer alienation in the process. To that end, the hierarchical regression analysis was used for 869 male teenagers and 800 female teenagers based on the data 7th wave of Korean Youth Panel Survey. Filly, In order to verify the meadiating effect of Peer Reject, bootstrapping method was used. The first seven panels Major analysis results are as follows. First, depression directly affected school adjustment of male and female adolescents. it turns out that the more depressed the young men and women are, the more aggressive they are. Second, In terms of depression and aggression among young men, peer alienation plays a role as a medium and that it does not work in the case of female. It also demonstrated that men's peer rejection has a media-effect in both gender depression and aggression and recommended discriminatory intervention based on gender.

Purpose: This study was conducted to analyze the features of poisoning in individuals aged 0-18 years to understand the characteristics of potential victims and eventually prevent poisoning. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed poisoned children and adolescents (0-18 years) who visited the emergency department of one tertiary hospital from January 2003 through December 2013. We collected data including their age, sex, reason for poisoning, components and dose of poison, results of treatment, and psychiatric diagnosis. Results: During the study period, there were 436 cases of poisoning (male 47.2% (n=206); female 52.8% (n=230)). Subjects were classified into four groups (0-1 years, 2-5 years, 6-12 years, 13-18 years). The most common cause of poisoning in all age groups was accidental poisoning (72.9%), but intentional poisoning increased as age increased (p<0.001). Moreover, females were more often subject to intentional poisoning than males (p<0.001). The most common poisoning material was drugs (41.7%). Among intentional poisoning patients, 62.7% patients had consulted a psychiatrist, and their most common diagnosis was adjustment disorder (44.6%). Conclusion: The most common cause of poisoning in individuals aged 0-18 years was accidental poisoning, while intentional poisoning was most common among adolescents. Guardians should take care to prevent accidental poisoning, while psychiatric consultation and national moderation will be needed to prevent intentional poisoning.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was aimed to examine the effect of self-esteem on life satisfaction and happiness among adolescents, and to verify moderated mediation of peer relations mediated by altruism and self-regulation. Method: The study referred to the 2015 Annual Report of the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey. More precisely, report on the fourth year research process of the study cohort comprising 2,091 subjects was used to verify the research model. Overall data were analyzed by using SPSS 18.0 program and specifically, moderated mediation were verified by using SPSS Macro, as suggested by Preacher, etc. (2008). Results: As a result, firstly, the peer relations mediated the relationship between life satisfaction and self-esteem among adolescents. Secondly, altruism and self-regulation had moderated mediation effects between self-esteem and peer relations among adolescents. Conclusion: These results suggest that self-esteem affects on life satisfaction and happiness by mediation of peer relations among adolescents and altruism and self-regulation agent is applied positive adjustment to further promote the peer relations and increase life satisfaction among adolescents. Through these study results, the implications for counseling and suggestions for future research were discussed.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the paths of the related variables that exert an influence upon the increase in mild and serious delinquencies of part-time work adolescents. Based on differential association theory, social control theory and power resource theory, the research model was composed and analyzed through structural equation model. Data came from survey which was done by fifteen high schools located in Seoul, and 201 questionnaire of returned were used for analysis. The results were congruent with theoretical expectations. The relationship between work hour per week and delinquency was mediated by delinquent propensity of fellow workers, amount of spending money and school adjustment. In conclusion, various theoretical and practical implications for social work practice focusing on the part time work students were discussed. Enforcement of regulation and revision of current law and various ways for helping and supervising working students in school, family and working places are needed.

This study is aimed at analyzing the factors that affect the behaviors of employee's investment, such as a decision making process in a variety of views and proving the extent of how those factors influence on their investment. The basic assumption is that the preceding factors that can be determined by the personal investment propensity, a psychological factor asserted by Behavior Financial Theory and financial-economic and social environment. This study uses Hershey's Investment Behavior Model(2007) as the main analysis tool to explain the investment behavior of individuals and deals with personal investment inclination in the psychological perspective of overconfidence, self-control and the risk tolerance propensity and add the financial and economic factors in terms of financial literacy and economic distress. Also the new preceding social environmental factors like social interaction and the effect of reference group are added to make this research to be more precise. This study analyze the adjustment effect of professional invest-consulting service that affect the fluctuation influence between the individual variables(those factors) and subordination variable(the level of investment satisfaction). The study reveals that overconfidence and self-control in direct ways have a positive effect on the level of investment satisfaction in terms of investment behavior and economic distress has a negative effect on the level of investment satisfaction. The adjustment effect provided by financial experts in investment consulting service is affirmed as the critical factor that increase the influence between self-control and the level of investment satisfaction. To conclude, the research reveals that the psychological factors are the main criteria when the workers as employees have to make investment decisions. To make investors be reasonable, a systematic financial education system provided by experts is needed from the early adolescent stages and financial companies should develop the relevant services of consulting service department as a key financial sector and financial investment products and consulting program and marketing tool pertinent to investors ages, vocational traits and their inclinations.
This study investigated the effect of housing poverty in childhood on adolescents' subjective well-being. Specifically, this study examined whether the major factors that have been known to affect adolescents' well-being (i.e., family relationships, peer relationships, school adjustment etc.) mediated the relationship between housing poverty and adolescents' well-being. And then this study aimed to present an empirical evidence for establishing policies against housing poverty in order to enhance adolescent's subjective happiness. Data were derived from the $1^{st}$, $4^{th}$, and $7^{th}$ surveys of the Korea Welfare Panel Study(KOWEPS), and the sample included. 512 high school children in the $7^{th}$ survey. This study utilized structural equation modeling. Housing poverty was measured by the sub-minimum standard housing condition and the household's burden of housing expenditure. Family relationship, as a mediator, was measured by parental involvement in education, parental monitoring, and family conflicts. Another mediator, school adjustment was measured by school environment and school bonding, and the last mediator, peer relationship was measured by friend attachment and peer attachment. The results showed that housing poverty had significant negative effects on the adolescents' subjective well-being. The sub-minimum standard housing condition with inadequate size and facilities negatively affected adolescents' relationships with family directly and subjective well-being indirectly. In addition, the negative family relationships due to the sub-minimum standard housing condition negatively affected adolescents' subjective well-being through school adjustment and peer relationships. The greater the proportion of income a household spends on housing expenditure, the less likely for adolescents to report positive well-being. The sub-minimum standard housing condition had indirect effects through family relationships, whereas the household's housing expenditure directly affected adolescents' subjective well-being. This study suggested the necessity of interventions to alleviate housing poverty for adolescents' families and lays the groundwork for housing poverty policies in Korea.
