Experimental Study of Adjustable Pulmonary Artery Banding Device (가변성 폐동맥 협착기구의 실험적 연구)

  • We developed a subcutaneously adjustable new pulmonary artery banding device which can be easily tightened or released in patients with unstable postoperative hemodynamics. The banding device consists of stainless spring which is enveloped with PTFE, nd polyvinyl catheter(5F). And the adjuster consists of another polyvinyl tube with forming cap. We mark transluscent polyvinyl tube 1mm each in length. 6 dogs weighing 15 to 25 kg underwent banding of descending thoracic aorta with the device. At postoperative 1 and 2 day, the device was effectively banded and released. Even 3 months later, we noted effective banding with some degree of vessel injury. The preliminary animal study suggests that this new device may be applicable in patient with excessive pulmonary blood flow.

  • The accident of Slip damage which arose between propeller boss and shaft will be a great problem of safety and economical due to the loss of propulsion power. In this study, the cause of slip damage on the large vessel was surveyed by meeting with officers of troubled ship, checking of drawings on the new built and surveyor report of adjuster company. Additionally, the material of propeller had been compression tested for confirming the impact strength. The result of this studies would be promote the design strength for contact force for keyless propeller, and futhermore reduce the accident of propeller slip between propeller boss and shaft.

  • In this research, we analyzed empirically whether the valuation and compensation factor being moderating variable played the role of adjuster between KMS adoption factor(organizational factor, knowledge Informational factor, user factor) and business performance. The results of this research are as follows. First, The valuation and compensation factor affects the usage of KMS in case of organization's flexibility, trust, suitability of knowledge, degree of functional provision and perceived benefit. But it does not affect the usage of KMS in case of easiness of usage and user expertise. Second, The valuation and compensation factor affects the user's satisfaction of KMS in case of organization's flexibility, trust, degree of functional provision and user expertise. But it does not affect the user's satisfaction of KMS in case of suitability of knowledge, easiness of usage and perceived benefit.

A Empirical Study on the Employee's Workplace Satisfaction for Internal Marketing by Group Based Demographic Aspects (내부마케팅을 위한 인구통계특성별 종업원 그룹의 직장만족 영향요인 연구)

  • Recently the company is getting bigger and has many employees. Therefore, sometimes, the uniform internal marketing devices for whole employees are inappropriate because they are different demographic aspects. To find efficient internal marketing factors, this paper analyzes empirically the determinants of employee's satisfaction to their firm, by group based demographic aspects(male and female : 2 groups, ages : 3 group, employment period : 3 groups), for a insurance claim adjuster company As a result, it is found that the psychological factor has the statically significant determinant in all the 8 groups, with biggest positive coefficient in the 7 groups. Other factors, such as the organizational factor, the individual factor and spatial factor are statically significant determinant depending on the groups differently.

Changes in Pectic Substance of Lower Salted Chinese Cabbage Kirnchi with pH Adjuster during Fermentation (pH조정제를 이용한 저염 배추점치의 숙성중 Pectin질의 변화)

  • For the purpose of fermentation control and edible period extension of lower salted Kimchi, the contents and compositions of pectic substances in Kimchi, by adding 2 percent salt and 0.4 percent sodium malate buffer(SMB), fermented at $20^{\circ}C$ were investigated. Edible period of SMB added chinese cabbage Kimchi was extended 40 hrs compared to that of control (added 2.5% salt) with good flavor, texture and freshness. The contents of alcohol insoluble solid(AIS) and protopectin(PP) of control were more decrensed during fermentation than those of SMB added Kimchi. But, the contents of pectic adid(PA) and water soluble pectin(WSP) of control were more increased during fermentation than those of SMB added Kimchi. Hexose and pentose from hemicellulose in control, PP and PA respectively, were more decreased during fermentation than those in SMB added Kimchi. Lower polarity and higher molecular weight PP was eluted and higher polarity and lower molecular weight PP was decreased considerably in control compared to those in SMB added Kimchi during fermentation.

An Experimental Study of Percutaneously Adjustable Pulmonary Artery Banding Device (가변성 폐동맥 혈류조절기의 실험적 연구)

  • To overcome the problems of classical pulmonary banding procedure, we developed a percutaneously adjustable pulmonary artery ba ding device. The banding device consists of banding portion of zig-zag shaped self-expandable stainless steel wire, shaft portion made by a polyvinyl catheter and a screw adjuster which includes a bolt and a nut. As the screw moves, the diameter of banding portion changes. Four Mongrel dogs ranging from 15 kg to 20 kg in weight underwent the banding of the mid portion of descending aorta with this devices through the left thoracotomy. One month after operation, we evaluated the pressure changes by controling the banding with the devices and then the dogs were sacrificed to study the microscopic changes in the aorta. The diameter and circumference of the band could be easily and finely adjustable by the screw control. The pressure recordings . revealed a linear increase and decrease in pressure gradient according to percutaneous ad;ustment of the banding device. Since the banding device can be easily placed and simply adjusted percutaneously, we hope the banding device may be applicab e clinically to improving the safety of pulmonary artery banding and debanding procedures in the future.

  • The Structures or buildings nowadays draw more complexity in design due to space limitation and other factor that affect the height and dimensions, that results to instability. So the various methods have been carried out to improve the safety factor from an earthquake or a boom until recently. But, it is very hard to get model precisely because these structures are the non-linear and multi-variable systems. For this reason, we developed the active control system that is applied the adaptive control method on the U type Tuned Liquid Damper(TLD) passive control system. It is proven that the proposed active control strategy of the plate carrying U type TLD system is the more effective control method to suppress the vibration of the structure. The entire hybrid control system is composed of the actuator acted in the opposite direction of the TLD system's motion direction and the active control device with an air pressure adjuster. This paper proposed the adaptive control methods to improve the problem of U type TLD system which is used widely for the passive control of the building. And it is proved by the simulation. In advanced, it is developed the pressure control method that is improved the hybrid controller's performance by using air chamber pressure controller. These methods take the advantage of the decrease of the maximum displacement by using the controller as soon as the impact is loaded. This is a very important element for the safety design and economic design of structures.

On a Performance Index of Automatic Steering System of Ships (선박 자동조타 시스템의 성능평가지수에 관한 고찰)

  • A performance index is very important and indispensable to the evaluation of automatic steering system of ships in open sea from the viewpoint of energy saving. In this paper, we derive the performance index of automatic steering system from the concept of energy loss of propulsive power. The index is found to consist of three terms, energy loss due to elongation of sailing distance, energy loss due to steering, and energy loss due to yawing motion. We also provide two kinds of calculation method on the performance index ; frequency response analysis and digital simulation. The numerical calculations are carried out for an ore carrier and a fishing boat by both methods. The frequency response analysis is found to be useful if the system is linear and the disturbance on ship is not large. If the system is nonlinear or the disturbance is excessive, the method of digital simulation has to be applied for the accurate evaluation of the performance index. Further investigations into the effects of nonlinear elements such as weather adjuster, power unit etc. on the performance index, will be dealt with in another paper.

  • This paper describes the system implementation of the heating operation based on spatial distributing and zonal calorie measuring and analyzing of houses to calculate the fair amount of the heating meterage automatically. The heating space is distributed into 4 zones, which the flow rate and calories are checked by one meter respectively. The system is composed of a heating sources, adjuster of thermostat, valve controller, PC converter and total monitering. The returning temperature in the spatial zones is measured for the heating calorie to calculate the zonal calories according to the rooms temperature. The proposed system results in error by 1% or less in comparing with the dedicated experimental equipment, and reduces energy cost by 7% from conventional system. The fair checking system will be enhanced with building energy management system in the future.

A Study on the Emotional Adjective Extraction and Subjective Evaluation of Sound Quality for Vehicle Power Seat (차량용 파워 시트 작동음의 감성 어휘 추출 및 주관적 음질 평가에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, emotional adjectives about the operating sound quality of the vehicle power seat are constructed, and the effectiveness of the emotional adjectives are verified by evaluating the operating sound quality. First, emotional adjectives were collected from the literature related to the automobile field and other sound qualities. A questionnaire was made using these adjectives. The questionnaire was designed to be able to select all adjectives that could express the operating noise of the power seat slide adjuster by applying the multiple- response method. Next, a subjective sound quality evaluation was conducted using the emotional adjectives. In the evaluation, we first recorded the operating noise for two power seats. Second, the subjective sound quality evaluation was performed on the recorded operating noise using a loudspeaker. Finally, through a statistical analysis on the sound quality evaluation results, the relationship between the semantic space and the preference score was verified, and the validity of the emotional adjectives was verified.
