  • We Propose a novel structure add/drop multiplexer based on an all-fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer and fiber Bragg grating. In this structure, wavelength separation is achieved by adjusting the amount of the phase shift in the Mach-Zehnder interferometer. The proposed add/drop multiplexer drops a part of signal at a specific wavelength and transmit the remnant of the signal to the different node separated wavelength in WDM network.

An Estimation Method of Drivable Path for Unmanned Ground Vehicle Using Camera and 2D Laser Rangefinder on Unpaved Road (카메라와 2차원 레이저 거리센서를 활용한 비포장 도로 환경에서의 지상무인차량의 주행가능영역 추정 기법)

  • Unmanned ground vehicle for facility protection mostly uses model of territory for autonomous navigation. However, modeling of territory using several sensors is highly time consuming and sometimes inefficient for road application. Therefore, an estimation of drivable path based on features of road is required for high speed autonomous navigation on road. In this paper, an estimation method of drivable path using camera and 2D laser rangefinder is proposed. First, a vanishing point is estimated based on image data from CCD camera. Second, a road width is estimated based on range data from 2D laser rangefinder. Finally, the drivable path is estimated by fusing the vanishing point and the road width. The proposed method is tested on both well-structured road and unpaved road like cross-country situation.

Tunable Optical Delay Line Based on Polymer Single-Ring Add/Drop Filters and Delay Waveguides (폴리머 단일 링 Add/Drop 필터와 지연 도파로로 구성된 튜닝 가능 광 신호 지연기)

  • A tunable optical delay line is designed, fabricated, and characterized. The tunable delay line consists of four polymer-ring add/drop filters with delay waveguides between adjacent ones. The polymer waveguide is a buried structure, designed to be square with core width and height of $1.8{\mu}m$. The refractive indices of the core and cladding polymer are 1.48 and 1.37 respectively. The large index difference and small cross section of the waveguide enable us to realize a compact device using a small radius of curvature. Four pairs of electrodes are evaporated above the add/drop filters to provide heating currents for thermal tuning. In measurements we can identify variable time delays of 110, 225, and 330 ps in proportion to the number of delay lines.

  • In general, to get the accurate switching point of power electronic components is dependent on a given rotor position by the encoder. However, a conventional encoder may not be used to detect position and speed of the developed motor due to the very high speed. Thus, an encoder that uses the hall effect directly was designed and applied. This paper presents the developed encoder that meet requirement of military purpose. To confirm the developed encoder, the experimental results are shown.

  • A combat system for navy's battleship is a system of systems who supports naval indigenous operations by integrating and inter-operating many different kind of weapon and non-weapon systems, which has characteristics of large-scale complex computing system. This paper considers a characteristics of naval combat system which has been developed by domestic technology and suggests a way to improve future naval combat system in terms of computing architecture by applying commercial real-time operating system technologies. This paper also provides an evaluation criteria for combat system adaptability of real-time operating systems.

  • 적외선 영상 시뮬레이션 시스템(IIRSS : Imaging Infrared Simulation System)은 적외선 영상 센서를 탑재한 유도무기체계의 종말 호밍 단계에서의 체계 유도조종 성능 및 기능을 시험평가하기 위한 목적으로 연구 개발되었다. 적외선 영상 시뮬레이션 시스템은 체계성능을 단계적이고 종합적인 시험평가를 위하여 표적 주위 환경에 대하여 사실적이고, 동적인 실시간 시뮬레이션 환경이 제공되어야한다. 시뮬레이터 개발에 있어서 주요 관련 기술은 지형, 지물에 대한 3차원 모델링, 대기투과효과 모델링 및 합성된 적외선 영상의 실시간 렌더링 기술 등이다. 본 논문에서는 적외선 센서 시뮬레이션의 방법으로써 HILS(Hardware-in-The-Loop Simulation)를 위한 시뮬레이터 구성, 적외선 영상 생성을 위한 도구와 절차 및 시뮬레이션 방안에 대하여 기술한다.

Compensation for the Body-Coupling in the 2-Gimballed Seeker Homing Loop on BTT Missile

  • It is observed that if the 2-gimballed seeker is stabilized using rate gyros mounted along its primary axis, line of sight change measured in the seeker is induced by the rolling due to the bank-to-turn(BTT) steering as well as the actual change. This body-coupling within BTT homing includes the spurious target maneuver effect and the coupling loop due to the rate gyro misalignment. In this paper we formulates the linear BTT homing loop model with a 2-gimballed seeker including those body-coupling effects. With the model, we analyze the effects of the couplings, and show that the roll rate coupling to the rate gyro for the stabilztion of gimbal could seriously deteriorate the homing loop stability. And we propose a direct linear compensator for the coupling to recover the stability.

  • With the advent of low cost, miniature and high-g hardened inertial sensors and actuators, many kind of smart munitions are becoming practical such as 1D or 2D TCM, SFM, Range Extended GPS guided munitions and so on. They have more complicated trajectory control algorithm than conventional munitions'. Therefore it is necessary to study the complicated operation algorithm of smart munitions with M&S in advance of developing them. The purpose of this paper is to introduce a practical M&S method to study an operation concept of smart munitions using PRODAS and Matlab.

  • Simulated target generators are used to evaluate the various radar performance. Using the radar parameters such as target range(time delay), doppler frequency, target RCS, simulated target generator can be developed. Especially moving targets are simulated by control time delay and update target signal intensive for target range. Base on this concepts, in this paper, simulated target generators are designed and developed for X-band Radar performance test. Developed equipment is evaluated its performance and then tested with X-band Radar. This paper presents these design, development, and test results of developed target generator.

  • In this study, the requirements for propellants to modulate the thrust of solid rocket motor were primarily investigated, followed by searching the research trends for propellants which would be feasible for the controlled solid rocket motor. And then, the theoretical performance and combustion characteristics of solid propellants being studied in ADD were demonstrated briefly.
