p-Snake의 성능 향상을 위한 적응 원형 생성 기법 (Adaptive prototype generating technique for improving performance of a p-Snake)

  • p-Snake는 기존의 동적윤곽모델(Active Contour Model)에 원형에너지를 추가로 적용한 에너지 최소화 알고리즘으로 에지 정보가 명확하지 않은 영역에서의 윤곽선 추출을 위해 사용된 방법이다. 본 논문에서는 원과 직선 프리미티브(primitive)의 조합으로 표현되는 가변 원형(prototype)과 퍼지 함수를 적용한 원형에너지장의 생성 기법을 제안하여 p-Snake의 윤곽선 추출 성능을 개선하였다. 제안 방법은 입력된 부품 코드를 기반으로 원형을 정의하고 전처리 과정을 통해 구해진 각 프리미티브 구간에서 대략적인 초기 윤곽을 검출한 후, 프리미티브들이 가변적으로 적응하여 원형을 생성하고 여기에 원형과의 거리에 따른 윤곽 확률을 퍼지 함수를 통해 계산하여 원형에너지 장을 생성하였다. 이를 p-Snake에 적용하여 다양한 소형부품들을 대상으로 준비한 200장의 영상에서 윤곽선을 검출하고, 원형과의 유사도를 비교한 결과 적응 원형을 사용한 p-Snake가 기존의 Snake에 비해 약 4.6% 가량 우수함을 보였다.

  • At the stage of initial design, prototypes are needed for engineering and aesthetic purposes. In order to get a fast and non-expensive prototype, designers prefer rapid prototyping(RP) to any other means. In driving a 3D CAD model into rapid prototyping, sectioning the model is essential and there are two negotiation-needed targets, enhancing accuracy while taking less build-time, which makes adaptive slicing taken into account. In spite of the advantages of adaptive slicing, it is not yet applied to real RP machines because of the limits of hardwares. In this thesis, a new slicing algorithm which (1)uses several values of thickness available in a RP machine. (2)determines total number of layers to make the prototype within the intended time and (3)arranges the layers using orthogonal arrays to minimize the volume error caused by the difference between a given CAD model and a fabricated model is presented. And the algorithm is expected to have possibility of assisting RP machines to take the advantages of adaptive slicing.

교통대응 신호제어전략의 평가를 위한 미시적 시뮬레이터의 원형 개발 (Development of a Micro-Simulator Prototype for Evaluating Adaptive Signal Control Strategies)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내 일부지역에 운영중인 첨단신호제어시스템(COSMOS)의 효율성을 평가할 수 있는 미시적(microscopic), 모의실험기(simulator)의 원형(prototype)을 개발하였다. 이 모의실험기의 개발은 원형적인 형성을 목표로 차량의 이동방식과 모듈적용체계 그리고 첨단신호알고리즘 중 독립교차로 실시간제어의 기능을 개발모형의 범위로 하였으며 구체적인 개발 사항은 다음과 같다. 첫째로, 기본적인 차량진행 외에 부가적인 첨단신호기능을 수행하기 위해서 검지기 체계를 통한 자료수집 및 지역제어기 그리고 센터시스템의 알고리즘의 수행이 필요하므로, 미시적 시뮬레이터의 가장 큰 문제점인 연산속도의 문제는 더욱 대두된다. 따라서 이러한 점을 개선할 수 있도록 소프트웨어적인 측면에서 차량의 이동방식을 공간중심방식으로 구성하여 진행시킬 것과 링크별로 각 수행모듈을 합리적으로 적용하도록 제안하였다. 그리고 차량추종 및 차로변경의 모형의 적용을 포함한 링크의 이원화 적용 제안이 타당한지를 평가하기 위하여 NETSIM모형과 비교를 실시하였다. 둘째로, 이러한 모의실험기의 구조를 기초로 개별차량의 검지자료 수집과 매 주기마다 주기 및 녹색시간을 결정하는 독립교차로 실시간 제어 알고리즘의 구현으로 첨단신호제어의 전략을 평가할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하였다. 마지막으로 독자적인 모의실험기로 발전할 수 있도록 Animation 기능과 다양한 효과척도를 산출하여 종합적인 연구를 수행하였다.

협업가능 표준기반 IoT 시스템을 위한 자가적응 IoT 소프트웨어 플랫폼 개발 (Self-adaptive IoT Software Platform for Interoperable Standard-based IoT Systems)

  • In this paper, we present a self-adaptive software platform that enables an IoT gateway to perform autonomous operation considering IoT devices connected each other in resource-constrained environments. Based on the oneM2M device software platform publicly available, we have designed an additional part, called SAS (self-adaptive software) consisting of MAM (memory-aware module), NAM (network-aware module), BAM (battery-aware module), DAM (data-aware module), and DH (decision handler). A prototype system is implemented to show the feasibility of the proposed self-adaptive software architecture. Our proposed system demonstrates that it can adaptively adjust the operation of gateway and connected devices to their resource conditions under the desired service scenarios.

  • This paper presents a fuzzy adaptive speed controller that guarantees a fast dynamic behavior and a precise trajectory tracking capability for surfaced-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motors (SPMSMs). The proposed fuzzy adaptive control strategy is simple and easy to implement. In addition, the proposed speed controller is very robust to system parameter and load torque variations because it does not require any accurate parameter values. The global stability of the proposed control system is analytically verified. To evaluate the proposed fuzzy adaptive speed controller, both simulation and experimental results are shown under motor parameter and load torque variations on a prototype SPMSM drive system.

단일 직선 구동형 적응형 그리퍼 설계 (Design of an Adaptive Gripper with Single Linear Actuator)

  • In this paper, two types of linear actuation methods for the previously proposed adaptive gripper are presented, which includes actual parallelogram inside a five-bar mechanism and has the advantages of smaller actuation torque and larger stroke over the commercial adaptive gripper by RobotiQ. The forward/inverse kinematics and statics analyses for two types of linear actuations are derived. From the inverse kinematics and statics analyses, linear actuation type I is selected and the gripper prototype is designed.

  • This paper describes an adaptive recommendation system that provides real-time personalized trading advice to the investors based on their profiles and trading information environment. A proposed system integrates Stochastic technical analysis and artificial neural network that incorporates an adaptive user modeling. The user model is constructed and updated based on initial user profile and recorded user interactions with the system. The information presented to each individual user is also tailor-made to fit the user's behavior and preference. A system prototype was implemented in JAVA. Experiments used to evaluate the system's performance were done on both human subjects and synthetic users. The results show our proposed system is able to rapidly learn to provide appropriate advice to different types of users.

  • An adaptive PID sliding mode controller is proposed for the position control of electro-hydrostatic actuator(EHA) systems with system uncertainties and saturation in the motor. An EHA prototype is developed and system modeling and parameter identification are executed. Then, adaptive PID sliding mode controller and optimal anti-windup PID controller are designed and the performance and robustness of the two control systems are compared by experiment. It was found that the adaptive PID sliding mode control system has better performance and is more robust to system uncertainties than the optimal anti-windup PID control system.

  • ART (Adaptive Resonance Theory [1]) neural network and its variations perform non-hierarchical clustering by unsupervised learning. We propose a scheme "arboART" for hierarchical clustering by using several ART1.5-SSS networks. It classifies multidimensional vectors as a cluster tree, and finds features of clusters. The Basic idea of arboART is to use the prototype formed in an ART network as an input to other ART network that has looser distance criteria (Ishihara, et al., [2,3]). By sending prototype vectors made by ART to one after another, many small categories are combined into larger and more generalized categories. We can draw a dendrogram using classification records of sample and categories. We have confirmed its ability using standard test data commonly used in pattern recognition community. The clustering result is better than traditional computing methods, on separation of outliers, smaller error (diameter) of clusters and causes no chaining. This methodology is applied to Kansei evaluation experiment data analysis.

HW/SW Co-Design of an Adaptive Frequency Decision in the Bluetooth Wireless Network

  • In IEEE 802.15.1 (Bluetooth) Ad-hoc networks, the frequency is resolved by the specific part of the digits of the Device clock and the Bluetooth address of the Master device in a given piconet. The piconet performs a fast frequency hopping scheme over 79 carriers of 1-MHz bandwidth. Since there is no coordination between different piconets, packet collisions may occur if two piconets are located near one another. In this paper, we proposed a software/hardware co-design of an adaptive frequency decision mechanism so that more than two different kinds of wireless devices can stay connected without frequency collision. Suggested method was implemented with C program and HDL (Hardware Description Language) and automatically synthesized and laid out. The adaptive frequency hopping circuit was implemented in a prototype and showed its operation at 24MHz correctly.
