  • This study is to innovate policy service development by utilizing beneficiary - centered service design to public information and public data and services that citizens can experience. The Gov 3.0 Design Group operated by the Dongbuk Regional Bureau of Statistics in Daegu in 2015, proposed a 'start-up decision support service' for pre-founders, using data mining on the GIS spatial information held by the Statistical Office and real-time settlement information of credit card companies. For this, service design process and methodology were adopted and participation of various stakeholders. This study suggests that national design activity based on service design is effective in transforming public service based on government information disclosure. It is also worthwhile as an approach that can be considered when the government wants to release or open information or public data in useful form to the public.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of a resistance band training program on body composition, physical fitness, and health promotion behavior in nursing students. Method: This study has a one-group pretest-posttest design to examine the change in body composition, physical fitness, and health-promoting lifestyle profile after participation in the resistance band training program. Training consisted of hands-based exercises using an elastic resistance band for ten weeks. Participants performed the resistance band training two days per week with a sports trainer, and 30 minutes self-training three days per week. The participants were 21 freshmen in nursing. Results: Mean age of the participants was 20.9 years, and 61.9% were not satisfied with their body shape. After the training program, muscle mass, muscular endurance, and balance of the body were significantly improved. In health promoting lifestyle profile, categories of physical activity, health responsibility, and stress management showed a significant increase. Conclusion: Results of this study suggested that exercising with a resistance band improved body composition, physical fitness, and health promoting behavior in the nursing students. We propose that resistance band training should be suitable for those who have the environment with limitation of time and space.

  • This paper examines the effect of trade liberalization or globalization, more broadly, on plants' growth as well as on "bi-polarization". To do so, we reviewed the possible theoretical mechanisms put forward by recent heterogeneous firm trade theories, and provided available micro-evidence from existing empirical studies on Korean manufacturing sector. Above all, the empirical evidence provided in this paper strongly suggests that globalization promoted growth of Korean manufacturing plants. Specifically, evidence suggests that exporting not only increases within-plant productivity but also promotes introduction of new products and dropping of old products. However, the empirical evidence also suggest that globalization has some downsides: widening productivity differences across plants and rising wage inequality between skilled and unskilled workers. Specifically, trade liberalization widens the initial productivity differences among plants through learning from export market participation as well as through interactions between exporting and R&D, both of which increase plants' productivity. We also show that there is only a small group of large and productive "superstar" plants engaged in both R&D and exporting activity, which can fully utilize the potential benefits from globalization. Finally, we also show evidence that trade liberalization interacts with innovation to increase the skilled-unskilled wage inequality.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to provide basic data which is necessary for educating nursing and medical students for establishing a desirable sense of ethics values Method: In this descriptive research, a total of 140 nursing students and 124 medical students were selected. The tools used for data analysis were descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffe test by using SPSS/WIN 12.0 version. Result: When the differences in the consciousness of biomedical ethics of nursing and medical students were compared, statistically significant differences were found in the category of brain death (t=-3.26, p=.001). Statistically significant differences were found in the general characteristics of religion (F=3.05, p=.018), and participation in religious activity (F=3.34, p=.006). Statistically significant differences were found in the characteristics related to the subjects' ethical values such as satisfaction level of a nurse/doctor (F=7.39, p=.000) occupation, the experience of A Patient's Bill of Rights (F=2.97, p=.020), the intention to attend biomedical ethics (F=5.61, p=.000), and the possibility of increasing ethical problems according to the development in the field of medical science (F=7.92, p=.000). Conclusion: An effort should be made to overcome the differences in the perception of biomedical ethics between nursing students and medical students. Moreover, when investigating the course of an integrated education for the establishment of a desirable sense of biomedical ethics, an alternative plan that could promote ethical values must be considered so that the significant variables can promote bioethical perception.

  • This study is aimed to identify latent classes which are based the change patterns in assistive technology device use among worker with disabilities and to test the effects of independent variables(gender, education, disability type, disability density, activity and participation of ICF: ICF, subjective socioeconomic status: SES, job satisfaction, life satisfaction) on determining latents classes. This study applied Nagin's(1999) semi-parametric group based approach to the panel survey of employment for the disabled. Because dependant variable has dichotomous scale, logit model was used. The results identified three latent classes, which could be defined based on the patterns as follows; assistive device continued use group, assistive device mid-level use group, assistive device sharp decline use group. The effects of the independent variables on the latent classes was tested by multinomial logit analysis. The results showed that education, disability type, ICF, SES, and life satisfaction were significant determinants of the latent classes. Finally, the implications based on analysis results were suggested.

  • Although ureases play important roles in microbial nitrogen metabolism and in the pathogenesis of several human diseases, little is known of the mechanism of metallocenter biosynthesis in this Ni-Containing enzyme. Klebsiella aerogenes urease apo-protein was purified from cells grown in the absence of Ni. The purified apo-enzyme showed the same native molecular weight, charge, and subunit stoichiometry as the holo-enzyme. Chemical modification studies were consistent with histidinyl ligation of Ni. Apo-enzyme could not be activated by simple addition of Ni ions suggesting a requirement for a cellular factor. Deletion analysis showed that four accessory genes (ureD, ureE, ureF, and ureG) are necessary for the functional incorporation of the urease metallocenter. Whereas the $\Delta$ureD, $\Delta$ureF, and $\Delta$ureG mutants are inactive and their ureases lack Ni, the $\Delta$ureE mutants retain partial activity and their ureases possess corresponding lower levels of Ni. UreE and UreG peptides were identified by SDS-polyacrylamide gel comparisons of mutant and wild type cells and by N-terminal sequencing. UreD and UreF peptides, which are synthesized at ve교 low levels, were identified by using in vitro transcription/translation methods. Cotransformation of E. coli cells with the complementing plasmids confirmed that ureD and ureF gene products act in trans. UreE was purified and characterized. immunogold electron microscopic studies were used to localize UreE to the cytoplasm. Equilibrium dialysis studies of purified UreE with $^{63}$ NiC1$_2$ showed that it binds ~6 Ni in a specific manner with a $K_{d}$ of 9.6 $\pm$1.3 $\mu$M. Results from spectroscopic studies demonstrated that Ni ions are ligated by 5 histidinyl residues and a sixth N or O atom, consistent with participation of the polyhistidine tail at the carboxyl termini of the dimeric UreE in Ni binding. With these results and other known features of the urease-related gene products, a model for urease metallocenter biosynthesis is proposed in which UreE binds Ni and acts as a Ni donor to the urease apo-protein while UreG binds ATP and couples its Hydrolysis to the Ni incorporation process.ouples its Hydrolysis to the Ni incorporation process.s.

  • Purpose: 'The purpose of the present study was to understand students' experiences from their standpoint, to identify relevant variables and to examine into their relations by analyzing and describing what phenomenon 'nursing students' visiting ambulatory bathing service' is, what are the reasons for the phenomenon, and what interactions are in the phenomenon. Method: The subjects were thirteen students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed by Strauss and Corbin's analysis method. Result: With regard to ambulatory bathing service, participants responded 'lack of education', 'inexperienced personal relations' and 'disappointment with recipients families'. They recognized 'burden' and 'compassion'. The intensity of generated 'burden' and 'compassion' was determined by volunteering persons, the degree of health care service, recipients' response and interaction of climate. When 'burden' and 'compassion' were generated, participants selected their own coping strategies. Strategies in the situation of 'burden' and 'compassion' were significantly influenced by 'burden' and 'compassion' and structural situation - 'mutual relation structure,' 'volunteers' capability,' 'the degree of volunteering guidance,' 'community participation,' 'recipients' environment,' 'information sharing,' 'special vehicle equipment' and 'economical burden.' Strategies include' service training,' 'receiving volunteering training,' 'preliminary service preparation,' 'volunteering.' 'connection to local medical center,' 'intention,' 'information sharing,' 'passive response to recipients' appreciation' and 'the understanding of publicity'. The results of selected 'burden' and 'compassion' are described with 'worthiness' and 'cohesion' as follows. Conclusion: This study is significantly meaningful in that it examined bathing service welfare in its initial stage. There are not much outcome from previous studies. However. it is meaningful that this study intended to develop theories on the nature of experiences and the relations among concepts derived from the visiting ambulatory bathing service process of nursing students. Professors who taught social volunteering in universities understood the experience of nursing students who did the visiting ambulatory bathing service. Consequently, professors will provide an effective instruction to enable these students to carry out visiting ambulatory bathing services efficiently in order to meet demands when they conduct the services. For the volunteering service activity in major-related fields among college students' social volunteering activities, they recognized the necessity of systematic education and preparation.
