  • This paper presents a method to segment wafer ID marks on poor quality images under uncontrolled lighting conditions of the semiconductor process. The active multiple templates matching method is suggested to search ID areas on wafers and segment them into meaningful regions and it would have been impossible to recognize characters using general OCR algorithms. This active template model is designed by applying a snake model that is used for active contour tracking. Active multiple template model searches character areas and segments them into single characters optimally, tracking each character that can vary in a flexible manner according to string configurations. Applying active multiple templates, the optimization of the snake energy is done using Greedy algorithm, to maximize its efficiency by automatically controlling each template gap. These vary according to the configuration of character string. Experimental results using wafer images from real FA environment are presented.

  • We analyze the jamming/deception performance of an active decoy against ground tracking radars on dynamic combat scenarios. Based on the movement and the interference flow of an airborne platform, the trajectories of the active decoy is accurately calculated by solving 6-degree of freedom equations of motion. On realistic combat scenarios, numerical simulations are examined to analyze the jamming performance of the decoy for various movements of the platform and RF specifications of the active decoy. Effective jamming/deception area against the ground tracking radars is estimated from the simulation.

  • In this paper, the motion coordination algorithm of mobile agents in active sensor network is proposed to track the dynamic boundary for environmental monitoring. While most of dynamic boundary tracking algorithms in the literature were studied under the assumption that the boundary and/or its evolving rate is known a priori, the proposed algorithm is assumed that the individual active agent can measure the state of environment locally without any information of the boundary. When the boundary is evolving dynamically, the formation of active agents is designed to achieve two objectives. One is to track boundary layer based on the measured information and a small deviation. The other is to maintain a uniform distance between adjacent agents. The algorithm structure based on a state diagram is proposed to achieve these two objectives. Finally, it will be shown in the simulations that all given agents converge to a desired boundary layer and maintain a formation along the boundary. • Motion tracking and object segmentation are the most fundamental and critical problems in vision tasks suck as motion analysis. An active contour model, snake, was developed as a useful segmenting and tracking tool for rigid or non-rigid objects. Snake is designed no the basis of snake energies. Segmenting and tracking can be executed successfully by energy minimization. In this research, two new paradigms for segmentation and tracking are suggested. First, because the conventional method uses only intensity information, it is difficult to separate an object from its complex background. Therefore, a new energy and design schemes should be proposed for the better segmentation of objects. Second, conventional snake can be applied in situations where the change between images is small. If a fast moving object exists in successive images, conventional snake will not operate well because the moving object may have large differences in its position or shape, between successive images. Snakes's nodes may also fall into the local minima in their motion to the new positions of the target object in the succeeding image. For robust tracking, the condensation algorithm was adopted to control the parameters of the proposed snake model called "adaptive color snake model(SCSM)". The effectiveness of the ACSM is verified by appropriate simulations and experiments.

  • We investigate a visual object tracking algorithm based upon particle filters, namely CONDENSATION, in order to combine multiple observation models such as active contours of digitally subtracted image and the particle measurement of object color. The former is applied to matching the contour of the moving target and the latter is used to independently enhance the likelihood of tracking a particular color of the object. Particle filters are more efficient than any other tracking algorithms because the tracking mechanism follows Bayesian inference rule of conditional probability propagation. In the experimental results, it is demonstrated that the suggested contour tracking particle filters prove to be robust in the cluttered environment of robot vision.

  • Studine the characteristic or C.T.I affectine on the tracking failure when interface active materials are diffused into the phenolic resin. we conclude as follow: 1) As the density of $NH_4Cl$ increase the quality or sludge increase the value of C.T.I decreases. 2) The materal of ion absorption can make the period of sludge metallic matal generation delay more than times and the value of C.T.I increase. 3) By addition of interface active material that makes forming period delay, the starting voltage of corona blackdown id delayed and the value of C.T.I is increased.

  • Recently, location based service(LBS) expended based on personal specialized service, however since commercialized GPS based emergency rescue service comes with shadow zone for GPS signal such as inside building, the accuracy and reliability are not guaranteed. Therefore to improve such problem, we propose an active location detecting algorithm using RFID-TAG and Yagiantenna. To track the location of RFID-TAG where signal is generated, location tracking device in which Yagi-Antenna is installed moves around. Since directed wave and reflected wave co-exist during signal reception, final signal generated location is searched by setting up multiple of locations where signal can be generated on the map and moving location tracking device along minimum length of path. The algorithm proposed in this paper was verified of its technical validity through simulator.

  • In this paper, we propose new data association method called the Highest Probability Data Association(HPDA) using a Signal Amplitude information ordering method applied to active sonar tracking and track initiation in cluttered environment. The performance of HPDA is tested in a series of Monte Carlo simulations runs and is compared with the existing Probabilistic Data Association with Amplitude Information(PDA-AI) for active sonar tracking in clutter. The proposed HPDA algorithm is also applied to automatic track initiation in clutter and its performance is compared with the existing IPDA-AI algorithm.

  • This paper is concerned with the design of the beam forming module that is a key unit of the active phased array antenna(APAA) system for mobile satellite communications. This module includes two blocks for main signal and tracking signal. Main signal block has the role of transmitting input signal from phased away antenna to tracking signal block. And, tracking signal block executes main roles, beam forming of tracking signal and electronic beam control. The several electrical performances of this module, phase characteristics and linear gain, etc., agreed with specifications needed for APAA, and for more clear verification of the performances, the satellite communication test of the APAA including the modules was accomplished in the outdoors.

  • In this paper, we propose a robust method which can detect and track a high-speed small approaching target in a cluttered environment for Korean Active Protection System. The proposed method uses a temporal and spatial filter, tracking filter to detect and track a single target in consecutive order. And it is comprised of a candidate target detection step, a prior target selection step and a target tracking. Field tests on real infrared image sequences show that the proposed method could stably track a high speed and small target in complex background and target occlusion.
