  • With the advancement of the internet, the use of personal information in online interactions has increased, underscoring the significance of data protection. Breaches of personal data due to unauthorized access can result in psychological and financial damage to individuals, and may even enable wide-ranging societal attacks aimed at those associated with the victims. In response to such threats, there is active research into security measures using blockchain to safeguard personal information. This study proposes a system that uses middleware and IAM (Identity and Access Management) services to protect personal information in a BaaS (Blockchain as a Service) environment where blockchain is provided via the Internet. The middleware operates on servers where IAM roles and policies are applied, authenticates users, and performs access control to allow only legitimate users to access blockchain data existing in the cloud. Additionally, to understand the impact of the proposed personal information protection method on the system, we measure the response time according to the time taken and the number of users under three assumed scenarios, and compare the proposed method and research related to personal information protection using blockchain in terms of security characteristics such as idea, type of blockchain, authentication, and confidentiality.

  • As the utilization value of personal information increases, discussions on how to provide personal information are active, but information required by institutions to utilize personal information is being exposed more than necessary. Therefore, personal privacy protection is essential to overcome the problems and limitations of personal information protection. In this study, a decentralized identity information management model that overcomes the problems and limitations of the centralized identity management method of personal information and manages and selectively provides personal information by the information owner himself and demonstrates the excellence of personal information by implementing the Smart Personal Information Provision System (SPIPS) in the PBFT consensus algorithm through experiments.

  • Bacillus subtilis strains produce a broad spectrum of bioactive peptides. The lipopeptide surfactin belongs to one well-known class, which includes amphiphilic membrane-active biosurfactants and peptide antibiotics. Both the srfA promoter and the ComP-ComA signal transduction system are an important part of the factor that results in the production of surfactin. Bs-M49, obtained by means of low-energy ion implantation in wild-type Bs-916, produced significantly lower levels of surfactin, and had no obvious effects against R. solani. Occasionally, we found strain Bs-M49 decreased spore formation and the development of competence. Blast comparison of the sequences from Bs-916 and M49 indicate that there is no difference in the srfA operon promoter PsrfA, but there are differences in the coding sequence of the comA gene. These differences result in three missense mutations within the M49 ComA protein. RT-PCR analyses results showed that the expression levels of selected genes involved in competence and sporulation in both the wild-type Bs-916 and mutant M49 strains were significantly different. When we integrated the comA ORF into the chromosome of M49 at the amyE locus, M49 restored hemolytic activity and antifungal activity. Then, HPLC analyses results also showed the comA-complemented strain had a similar ability to produce surf actin with wild-type strain Bs-916. These data suggested that the mutation of three key amino acids in ComA greatly affected the biological activity of Bacillus subtilis. ComA protein 3D structure prediction and motif search prediction indicated that ComA has two obvious motifs common to response regulator proteins, which are the N-terminal response regulator receiver motif and the C-terminal helix-turn-helix motif. The three residues in the ComA N-terminal portion may be involved in phosphorylation activation mechanism. These structural prediction results implicate that three mutated residues in the ComA protein may play an important role in the formation of a salt-bridge to the phosphoryl group keeping active conformation to subsequent regulation of the expression of downstream genes.

  • This paper presents a fuzzy system that estimates the optimal bit allocation matrices for the spatially active subimage classes of adaptive transform image coding in noisy channels. Transform image coding is good for image data compression but it requires a transmission error protection scheme to maintain the performance since the channel noise degrades its performance. The fuzzy system provides a simple way of estimating the bit allocation matrices from the optimal bit map computed by the method of minimizing the mean square error between the transform coefficients of the original and the reconstructed images.

  • Islanding is a phenomenon that EPS(Electric Power System) is continuously energized by PV PCS(Photovoltaic Power Conditioning System) even when EPS is isolated from the grid. Unintentional islanding will result in safety hazard, power quality degradation and many other issues. So, islanding protection of grid-connected PV PCS is a key function for standards compliance. Nowadays, many anti-islanding schemes are researched. But existing anti-islanding schemes used in PV PCS have power quality degradation and non-detection zone issues. This paper analyses not only detection performance of existed anti-islanding schemes using active frequency drift but also THD of PCS output current according to each value disturbance for anti-islanding. In addition, the lowest value of disturbance in each scheme was tabulated under guarantee of anti-islanding condition.

  • This paper presents a theoretical study of a model predictive control (MPC) strategy employed in semi-active control system with magnetorheological (MR) dampers to reduce the responses of seismically excited structures. The MPC scheme is based on a prediction model of the system response to obtain the control actions by minimizing an objective function, which can compensate for the effect of time delay that occurred in real application. As an example, a 5-story building frame equipped with two 20 kN MR dampers is presented to demonstrate the performance of the proposed MPC scheme for addressing time delay and reducing the structural responses under different earthquakes, in which the predictive length l = 5 and the delayed time step d = 10, 20, 40, 60, 100 are considered. Comparison with passive-off, passive-on, and linear quadratic Gaussian (LQG) control strategy indicates that MPC scheme exhibits good control performance similar to the LQG control strategy, both have better control effectiveness than two passive control methods for most cases, and the MPC scheme used in semi-active control system show more effectiveness and robustness for addressing time delay and protecting structures during earthquakes.

  • To develope of diagnosis and estimation system for utility of fungicides and insecticides as crop protection agents, various 10 physicochemical parameters, hydrophobicity (LogP), dipole moment (DM), HOMO energy, LUMO energy, molar refractivity $(MR:\;cm^3/mol)$, polarizability $(Pol:\;A^3)$, van der Waals molecular surface area $(A^2)$, van der Waals molecular volume $(Vol:\;cm^3)$, molecular weight (amu), hydration energy (Kcal/mol) for the active ingredients of 133 fungicides and 152 insecticides were calculated. And then the distribution ranges for each of the physicochemical parameters in fungicides, sterol biosynthesis inhibitors (DMI: demethylation inhibitor), insecticides and acetylcholine esterase inhibitors (AChE) were confirmed. It is suggested that the various compounds based on the range of the physicochemical parametes could be predicted for possibilities as fungicides and insecticides.

  • The high availability of information security system shall be primarily studied in relation to the Next Generation Network(NGN) Information Security infrastructure, because it is very important to maintain availability at each moment as a variety of intrusions occur continuously. The high availability of the security system can be realized with the topology and configuration properly defined to fully utilize the recovery function of the security system in the thoroughly planned optimized method. The active-active high availability on the NGN information security infrastructure system in is assured by letting the failover mechanism operate upon the entire structure through the structural design and the implementation of functions. The proposed method reduces the system overload rating due to trouble packets and improves the status of connection by SNMP polling trap and the ICMP transport factor by ping packet.
