  • Recently, social technologies have been created to solve problems from businesses for the establishment of generational solidarity ecosystem in terms of employment, residential space, network and social capital, age, cognitive and environmental aspects. This is senior-friendly healthcare business system aimed at meeting the senior needs for health life to enjoy active consumption culture life even after retirement, becoming a catalyst for minimizing generational conflicts, preventing the cognitive and physical deterioration of seniority in the areas of life healthcare, fitness and well-aging, and expanding into systems necessary for seniority self-reliance. We would like to draw up the development and requirements of the concept of the service platform for the study of collective characteristics for generation solidarity with senior class and the establishment of a customized senior health life system for generation solidarity. This system is characterized by a platform that can prevent the decline of seniors' cognitive and physical functions and enhance emotional stability. It is significant in providing feedback on the risk perception index, fall index, and prevention training index information to the child through the analysis and extraction of the senior health index for risk perception, fall probability, and fall prevention.

국민건강영양조사를 활용한 고령자 내 Active Senior 계층의 존재 및 나트륨 섭취에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Existence and Sodium Consumption of Active Seniors among the Elderly Using National Health and Nutrition Survey)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze existence of active senior and their sodium intake using the 7th Korea National Health and Nutrition Survey. The samples used for this study were 1,336 males and 1,857 females older than age 45. We used the K-means cluster analysis to distinguish the elderly and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) to compare the means statistically among the groups. The analysis confirmed the existence of active seniors and showed different characteristics from other clusters. Also, the sodium intake in active seniors varies with other clusters depending on gender, economic status, social participation and health. In conclusion to reduce the unnecessary social cost of health deterioration of the elderly caused by aging, it is desirable to implement a class-specific policy based on the results of this study.

납축전지의 심방전용 극판에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Plate for Deep Discharge in Lead Acid Battery)

  • Positive plate was composed of lead hydroxide via reaction between lead oxide and $H_2O$ and lead sulfate was formed of the reaction of lead hydroxide with sulfuric acid. And its density is $3.8g/cm^3$, $4.0g/cm^3$, $4.2g/cm^3$ and $4.4g/cm^3$ by controlling volume of refined water. Curing of positive plate is done for low ($45^{\circ}C$, 40hr, over 95% of relative humidity) & high ($80^{\circ}C$, 40hr, over 95% of relative humidity) temperature, which created 3BS & 4BS active materials. Experimental result of DOD with 100% life cycle test shows that it was not related to the density of active materials but to the low & high temperature aging of active materials. The test makes us to understand that the crystallization which is made by curing of active materials is a more of a main factor than density of active materials under the deep cycle using circumstances. The active materials which were from the high temperature curing are better for deep cycle performance.

  • 장미꽃을 $30^{\circ}C$, 상대습도 60%의 조건에서 24시간 동안 숙성하여 총페놀화합물 함량, 산화방지 활성, 카테킨 함량을 최대로 증가시키는 조건을 수립하였다. 장미꽃을 차로 이용하기 전에 숙성공정을 통하여 생리활성 물질인 카테킨을 비롯한 페놀화합물의 추출 효율을 증가시킬 수 있고 이에 따라 장미꽃 차의 산화방지효과를 증대 시킬 수 있다.

Ginsenoside Rg3 promotes inflammation resolution through M2 macrophage polarization

  • Background: Ginsenosides have been reported to have many health benefits, including anti-inflammatory effects, and the resolution of inflammation is now considered to be an active process driven by M2-type macrophages. In order to determine whether ginsenosides modulate macrophage phenotypes to reduce inflammation, 11 ginsenosides were studied with respect to macrophage polarization and the resolution of inflammation. Methods: Mouse peritoneal macrophages were polarized into M1 or M2 phenotypes. Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, Western blotting, and measurement of nitric oxide (NO) and prostaglandin $E_2$ levels were performed in vitro and in a zymosan-induced peritonitis C57BL/6 mouse model. Results: Ginsenoside $Rg_3$ was identified as a proresolving ginseng compound based on the induction of M2 macrophage polarization. Ginsenoside $Rg_3$ not only induced the expression of arginase-1 (a representative M2 marker gene), but also suppressed M1 marker genes, such as inducible NO synthase, and NO levels. The proresolving activity of ginsenoside $Rg_3$ was also observed in vivo in a zymosan-induced peritonitis model. Ginsenoside $Rg_3$ accelerated the resolution process when administered at peak inflammatory response into the peritoneal cavity. Conclusion: These results suggest that ginsenoside $Rg_3$ induces the M2 polarization of macrophages and accelerates the resolution of inflammation. This finding opens a new avenue in ginseng pharmacology.

선원 고령화에 따른 해기교육 개선방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Improvement of Maritime Education by Aging Seamen)

  • 우리나라는 2000년 고령화 사회에 진입한 이후 2019년 현재 고령사회로 분류되고 있다. 이에 따라 고령선원의 수는 해를 거듭할수록 증가하는 추세이고, 고령선원의 해양사고 건수도 해마다 증가하고 있다. 도로 교통분야에서도 운전자의 고령화가 해운분야와 동일하게 나타나고 있다. 하지만, 도로 교통분야에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하려는 연구와 정책 등이 해운분야에 비해 활발하게 진행되었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 도로 교통분야에서 고령운전자에 의한 교통사고 발생원인을 줄이기 위한 노력 중 교육분야에 한정하여 살펴보고 이를 해기교육에 벤치마킹하였다. 국내·외 도로 교통분야에서는 인적요인 등의 발생원인을 줄이기 위한 방안의 하나로 고령운전자 교통안전교육을 시행하고 있다. 고령화에 따른 교육분야 문제 현황을 분석하고 도로 교통분야의 해결방안과 접목하였으며, 그에 따른 해기교육 개선방안은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전문적인 면허취득교육을 시행하는 방안이다. 둘째, 고령선원의 면허갱신 시 직무 보수교육을 시행하는 방안이다. 마지막으로 고령선원 연령전환 교육을 시행하는 방안이다. 다만, 본 연구는 선원고령화에 따른 해기교육분야의 개선방안에 한정된 연구인 만큼 향후 다양한 분야에서의 연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

자동미세다륜침을 이용한 EGF 공급이 노화피부에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Automatic Micro-needle Therapy System supply EGF to impact the aging skin)

  • 본 연구는 자동미세다륜침 적용한 한 뒤 EGF를 50대여성의 노화피부에 공급하여 수분과 탄력의 증가, 색소와 눈가주름의 감소에 효과를 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 50대여성 35명을 대상으로 2013년 10월 7일부터 2013년 12월 15일까지 총 70일간 이루어졌다. 연구결과 자동미세다륜침의 사용만으로 수분(<.01), 탄력(<.001)이 좋아졌으며, 색소(<.01)와 주름(<.001)이 감소하였다. 또한 활성성분인 EGF를 적용하였을 때 자동미세다륜침만 사용하였을 때 보다 좋은 결과를 나타냈다. 이에 재생을 촉진하는 EGF 등의 활성성분을 함께 사용한다면 긍정적인 효과를 더욱 증대시킬 것으로 사료된다.

Effects of Korean ginseng berry on skin antipigmentation and antiaging via FoxO3a activation

  • Background: The ginseng berry has various bioactivities, including antidiabetic, anticancer, antiinflammatory, and antioxidative properties. Moreover, we have revealed that the active antiaging component of the ginseng berry, syringaresinol, has the ability to stimulate longevity via gene activation. Despite the many known beneficial effects of ginseng, its effects on skin aging are poorly understood. In this study, we investigated the effects of ginseng and the ginseng berry on one of the skin aging processes, melanogenesis, and age-related pigment lipofuscin accumulation, to elucidate the mechanism of action with respect to antiaging. Methods: The human melanoma MNT1 cell line was treated with ginseng root extract, ginseng berry extract, or syringaresinol. Then, the cells were analyzed using a melanin assay, and the tyrosinase activity was estimated. The Caenorhabditis elegans wild type N2 strain was used for the life span assay to analyze the antiaging effects of the samples. A lipofuscin fluorescence assay was performed during 10 passages with the syringaresinol treatment. Results: A 7-d treatment with ginseng berry extract reduced melanin accumulation and tyrosinase activity more than ginseng root extract. These results may be due to the active compound of the ginseng berry, syringaresinol. The antimelanogenic activity was strongly coordinated with the activation of the longevity gene foxo3a. Moreover, the ginseng berry extract had more potent antiaging effects, caused a life span extension, and reduced lipofuscin accumulation. Conclusion: Taken together, our results suggest that these antimelanogenic effects and antiaging effects of ginseng berry mediate the activation of antioxidation-FoxO3a signaling.

노인의 상대적 악력이 인지기능에 미치는 영향: 경제활동과 사회참여의 조절효과를 중심으로 (The Effects of Relative Handgrip Strength on Cognitive Function: The Moderating Roles of Paid Employment Status and Social Activities)

  • 본 연구는 노인의 상대적 악력과 인지기능 간 관계를 경제활동과 사회참여가 조절하는지를 규명하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 한국노동연구원에서 실시한 2016년 제 6차 고령화연구패널 자료를 이용하여 65세 이상 노인 가운데 두 손 모두 수술 및 외상 경험이 없고 악력이 측정 가능한 상태인 총 3,376명을 선정하였다. 모든 인구를 대표하기 위해 횡단 가중치를 적용하였고 통제변수, 독립변수, 조절변수와 상호작용항을 투입하여 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 노인의 상대적 악력이 인지기능에 정적인 관계를 보이고 경제활동과 사회참여도 인지기능에 정적인 관계를 보였다. 또한 노인의 경제활동과 사회참여가 각각 노인의 악력과 인지기능 간의 관계를 조절하는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 악력이 낮더라도 경제활동과 사회참여를 할수록 인지기능에 미치는 부정적인 영향을 완충하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 노인의 인지기능 저하에 대응하기 위한 경제 활동과 사회참여에 따른 활동적 노화의 필요성을 시사한다.

  • A variety of medical devices are utilized to repair or help injured body functions after accidental injury(such as a traffic accident), population aging, or disease. Such medical devices are being actively researched and developed in portable form, skin patchable type, and further, implantable form. In the future, active implantable medical devices for neuro and brain sciences are expected to be developed. Active implantable medical devices that detect brain signals and control neurology for a wider understanding of human cognition and nerve functions, and for an understanding and treatment of various diseases, are being actively pursued for future use. In this paper, the core elements of implantable devices that can be applied to neuro and brain sciences are classified into electrode technologies for bio-signal acquisition and stimulation, analog/digital circuit technologies for signal processing, human body communication technologies, wireless power transmission technologies for continuous device use, and device integration technologies to integrate them. In each chapter, the latest technology development trends for each detailed technology field are reviewed.
