Finite element analysis for the seismic performance of steel frame-tube structures with replaceable shear links

  • In steel frame-tube structures (SFTSs) the application of flexural beam is not suitable for the beam with span-to-depth ratio lower than five because the plastic hinges at beam-ends can not be developed properly. This can lead to lower ductility and energy dissipation capacity of the SFTS. To address this problem, a replaceable shear link, acting as a ductile fuse at the mid length of deep beams, is proposed. SFTS with replaceable shear links (SFTS-RSLs) dissipate seismic energy through shear deformation of the link. In order to evaluate this proposal, buildings were designed to compare the seismic performance of SFTS-RSLs and SFTSs. Several sub-structures were selected from the design buildings and finite element models (FEMs) were established to study their hysteretic behavior. Static pushover and dynamic analyses were undertaken in comparing seismic performance of the FEMs for each building. The results indicated that the SFTS-RSL and SFTS had similar initial lateral stiffness. Compared with SFTS, SFTS-RSL had lower yield strength and maximum strength, but higher ductility and energy dissipation capacity. During earthquakes, SFTS-RSL had lower interstory drift, maximum base shear force and story shear force compared with the SFTS. Placing a shear link at the beam mid-span did not increase shear lag effects for the structure. The SFTS-RSL concentrates plasticity on the shear link. Other structural components remain elastic during seismic loading. It is expected that the SFTS-RSL will be a reliable dual resistant system. It offers the benefit of being able to repair the structure by replacing damaged shear links after earthquakes.

Gastroprokinetic agent, mosapride inhibits 5-HT3 receptor currents in NCB-20 cells

  • Mosapride accelerates gastric emptying by acting on 5-hydroxytryptamine type 4 ($5-HT_4$) receptor and is frequently used in the treatment of gastrointestinal (GI) disorders requiring gastroprokinetic efficacy. We tested the effect of mosapride on 5-hydroxytryptamine type 3 ($5-HT_3$) receptor currents because the $5-HT_3$ receptors are also known to be expressed in the GI system and have an important role in the regulation of GI functions. Using the whole-cell voltage clamp method, we compared the currents of the $5-HT_3$ receptors when 5-HT was applied alone or was co-applied with mosapride in cultured NCB-20 cells known to express $5-HT_3$ receptors. The $5-HT_3$ receptor current amplitudes were inhibited by mosapride in a concentration-dependent manner. Mosapride blocked the peak currents evoked by the application of 5-HT in a competitive manner because the $EC_{50}$ shifted to the right without changing the maximal effect. The rise slopes of $5-HT_3$ receptor currents were decreased by mosapride. Pre-application of mosapride before co-application, augmented the inhibitory effect of mosapride, which suggests a closed channel blocking mechanism. Mosapride also blocked the opened $5-HT_3$ receptor because it inhibited the $5-HT_3$ receptor current in the middle of the application of 5-HT. It accelerated desensitization of the $5-HT_3$ receptor but did not change the recovery process from the receptor desensitization. There were no voltage-, or use-dependency in its blocking effects. These results suggest that mosapride inhibited the $5-HT_3$ receptor through a competitive blocking mechanism probably by binding to the receptor in closed state, which could be involved in the pharmacological effects of mosapride to treat GI disorders.

  • '의미의 각축장'으로 떠난 기록여행을 떠나 보았다. 그리고 각주의 계보학이 아니라 재활용의 미학을 실험해보았다. 재활용은 무엇을 재활용하자는 것일까? 지난 15년을 비판하기보다는 향후 15년을 설계하는 것이 필요하다고 보았다. 그래서 향후 15년을 이세신궁 프로젝트로 명명해보았다. 이제 우리에게도 자생적 아카이브를 말할 시점이 된 것 같다. 서구의 기록문화를 열심히 받아들이고 교류하는 것을 넘어서 자생적 아카이브를 고민해야 할 것 같기 때문이다. 이제 수천 명의 사람들이 10년이 넘는 시간 동안 자기경험을 쌓았다면 충분히 그럴 시점이 되었다고 본다. 또한 이 글에서는 기록의 상대성과 기록의 장소성을 살펴보았다. 공공기관 아카이빙이 중요하다고 하더라도 이제는 기록의 중심적 위치에서 내려와야 할 것 같다. 아래로부터 아카이빙이 있고, 일상과 커뮤니티 아카이빙이 있고, 기호학적 접근이 있기 때문이다. 비관주의에 반대한다. 침묵의 힘을 신뢰한다.

Top Down 공사현장에 적용되는 현장타설 선기초기둥의 지지력에 관한 연구 (A Study on Bearing Capacity of Cast-In-Place Pre-Founded Columns in Top Down Construction Sites)

  • 최근 최첨단 정보통신 산업의 발전과 비약적인 교통수단의 개선으로 인해 도심지의 개념이 점차적으로 확대되고 있으며, 지하공간이 대형화, 대심도화 되고 있어 구조물의 건설을 위한 지하굴착방식 또한 건설환경에 발맞춰 변화되게 되었다. 이 중 Top Down 공법은 건축계획과 연계하여 종래의 지하굴착 방식과는 다른 획기적인 방법이며, 그 중 기둥용 선기초기둥은 공사방식이나 공사기간, 공사비에서 매우 중요한 요소 중 하나이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 건물 기둥용 선기초기둥에 대하여 현장 검증용 재하시험 결과를 기준으로 설계단계에서의 지지력 산정결과와 비교, 분석을 통해 각 검토방법별 적용성을 고찰해 보고자 하였다. 그 결과 대부분의 설계식은 재하시험 결과에 못미치는 보수적인 결과를 주는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 구조물기초 설치 후 영구하중에 대해 현장타설말뚝 두부에 작용하는 압축응력을 평가해 본 결과 전반적으로 기초와의 구속효과로 인해 작용응력이 감소하는 것으로 나타났다.

타워크레인 텔레스코핑 작업의 풍속 및 하중에 대한 구조 안전성 연구 (A Study on the Structural Safety of Tower Crane Telescoping Work according to Wind Speed and Load)

  • This study analyses the load imbalance of the tower crane used in telescoping work for structural safety, owing to the difference in wind speed and balance weight position. This is because wind speed and position of the balance weight have a significant impact on the structural stresses of a tower crane during telescoping work. Therefore, structural analysis was performed on the 290HC model, which is often used at construction sites and has only one cylinder installed. Moreover, two models were classified to determine the load acting on the connecting part of the telescopic cage to slewing platform and the cylinder. Five types of balance weight positions were applied at regular intervals from jibs; moreover, four types of wind load criteria were differently applied. Hence, the telescopic cage columns were destroyed at all balance weight positions at a wind speed of 30 m/s and only at certain locations at a wind speed of 20 m/s. Furthermore, failures occurred for cylinders, torsional, and bending at wind speeds of 30 m/s and 20 m/s, load imbalances above the allowable thresholds considering the safety factor. In addition, the load imbalance in the telescoping work also varied depending on the position of the balance weights. The results of these studies have validated that the current standards of adjusting the appropriate position of the balance weights on the jib are completely valid, with the telescoping work to be executed only at wind speeds of less than equal to 10 m/s.

Design and Empirical Study of an Online Education Platform Based on B2B2C, Focusing on the Perspective of Art Education

  • The purpose of this study is to provide instructive theoretical models for art (music) education institutions especially when unpredictable risks, such as pandemics, occur again. Based on the customer behavior theory of the business-to-business-to-customer (B2B2C) platform, and in combination with the technology acceptance model (TAM) and expectation confirmation model (ECM), this study proposes an online education model from the perspective of art education. The framework is based on the three decision-making processes of the customer, and includes the product owner, content owner, and customer area. This paper highlights the factors that influence customers in making decisions when art education institutions are product owners. Regression analysis was introduced to study the factors influencing the expectation confirmation, and the overall fitting testing and six hypotheses testing of 385 effective samples were performed using the structural equation modeling (SEM). The results show that the course-design and after-service positively influenced the expectation confirmation, and the domain image positively influenced the continuance behavior. Negative emotions skipped the mediator (expectation confirmation) and directly exerted a significant negative impact on customers' willingness to continue system usage (continuance behavior). In addition, expectation confirmation positively influenced continuance behavior. The paths of detailed items comprising course-design, after-service, and negative emotion were also analyzed and discussed. In this path analysis, ordinary art learners did not believe that AI partners can play a very good auxiliary role. The findings contribute to the scope of information systems acting as an art education platform academically, and provide effective and theoretical support for the actual operation of art education institutions.

전라북도민 건강증진을 위한 요양병원 재활서비스 현황 (Current Status of Rehabilitation Services in Long-Term Care Hospitals for Health Promotion of Jeollabuk-do Residents)

  • 초고령 사회가 임박함에 따라 노인성 질환자 또한 증가하고 있으며 이로 인한 사회적 문제로 시설과 정책의 부족이 제기되고 있다. 의료보장의 현실적 대안으로 국민건강보험이 이야기되고 있으며, 요양병원은 급성기 병원과 장기요양시설 사이로 분류되며 의료비 절감의 대체재로 작용하고 있다. 그러나 유지기 재활의 핵심인 요양병원은 서비스의 질적 문제가 심각히 제기되고 있고, 현 의료체계의 문제로 재활 난민이 양산되는 문제가 있다. 특히 2015년 선행연구에서 전라북도의 요양병원 현황이 가장 열악하였으며 이에 공공데이터를 활용하여 전라북도 요양병원 일반현황, 다빈도 상병 현황, 재활서비스 관련 현황, 재활서비스 중 작업치료 관련 현황에 대하여 탐색하고자 한다.

수심 변화에 따른 볼라드 당김 및 과부하 조건에서의 다중 포드 추진 쇄빙선박의 여유추력 추정에 대한 수치해석적 연구 (Study on Prediction of Net Thrust of Multi-Pod-Driven Ice-Breaking Vessel Under Bollard Pull and Overload Conditions According to the Change of Water Depth Using Computational Fluid Dynamics-Based Simulations)

  • In this paper, a numerical analysis technique using a body force model is investigated to estimate the available net thrust of multi-pod-driven ice-breaking vessels under bollard pull and overload conditions. To employ the body force model in present flow simulations, drag and thrust components acting on the pod unit are calculated by using Propeller Open Water (POW) test data. The available net thrusts according to the direction of operation are evaluated in both bollard pull and overload conditions under deep water. The simulation results are compared with the model test data. The available net thrusts, calculated by the present analysis for ahead operating modes at 3~6 knots which are typical speeds of the target vessel in arctic field, are agreed well with the model test results. It is also found that the present result for astern operating mode appears approximately 6 % larger than the model test result. In addition, the available net thrusts are calculated under the both operating conditions accompanied by shallow water effects, and the main cause of the difference is studied. Based on the result of the present study, it is confirmed that the body force model can be applied to the performance evaluation of multi-pod propulsion system and the main engine selection in early design stage of the vessel.

Cloning and Characterization of Porcine Uroplakin II Gene

  • Mammalian urothelium undergoes unique membrane specialization by making the asymmetric unit membrane (AUM) that is covered with the apical cell surface during terminal differentiation. The AUM contains several major integral membrane proteins including uroplakin Ia, Ib, II and III. The genes for uroplakins have been cloned from humans and mice, but not from porcine. In this study, we report the cloning of the UPII genomic DNA, which codes for the full length open reading frame for the uroplakin II protein. The deduced amino acid sequence encodes of a hydrophobic NH$_2$-terminal peptide, a prosequence, and a mature protein. The prosequence contains three potential N-glycosylation sites and a RGRR cleavage site that may be involved in uroplakin II processing and maturation. Northern and immunohistochemistry analyses showed that the porcine UPII gene is only expressed in urothelium and that the protein was specifically localized in urothelial superficial cells. A 2kb of upstream in the promoter sequence contains multiple transcription factor binding sites, including GC-box, SPI, AP2, and GATA-box sites, but not for TATA or CAAT-box sequences. Comparison of the porcine UPII promoter sequence with that of the murine by MEME system presented two conserved motifs, suggesting a cis-acting regulatory role for the conserved sequences. Sequence homology between two species in motif A and B was 79% and 80% respectively, although their relative locations were different. During the gestation, mouse bladder at estrus stages and day 10 after parturition showed higher UPII expression, while showed lower expression at peri-implantation stage. Taken together, our results showed that the porcine UPII gene was expressed highly and specifically in the bladder urothelium and that steroid hormones for implantation changed the expression of UPII in the bladder, although the biological significance of UPII remains to be not determined.

부력방지를 위한 연직배수공법의 양압력 분포 특성 분석 (Characteristics of Positive Pressure Distribution in Vertical Drainage Method to Prevent Buoyance)

  • 지하공간의 이용에 관심이 높아짐에 따라 지하구조물에 작용하는 수압에 대한 안전성 확보가 요구되고 있다. 국내에서는 이와 같은 지하수압을 제어하기 위한 방법으로 여러가지 부력방지공법을 사용하고 있으며, 그 중 최근 경제성과 시공성이 뛰어나고, 안정성이 좋은 연직배수공법을 도입하여 적용하고 있다. 그러나 현장에서 설계 시공되는 연직배수공법의 경우 수치해석에 의존하여 설계 시공되는 경우가 많아 실측적인 안정성 판단을 기대하기 힘들다. 이에 본 연구에서는 모형토조를 이용해 연직배수시스템을 설치하여 양압력을 측정하는 실험을 진행하였다. 실험에 의한 측정값과 수치해석값을 바탕으로 작용양압력을 비교·분석하여 현장적용이 가능한 기초자료로 사용하고자 한다.
