Systematic performance evaluation of the Defense Acquisition Program is very important, since they are directly related to national security. In this paper, we reviewed various performance evaluation models from a methodological perspective for pragmatic performance evaluation, and the limitations of each model. In order to evaluate the performance of the Defense acquisition program efficiently, especially for the Naval ship Projects and considering their unique characteristics, both various stakeholders' participation, standard indicators for performance measurement, and tailoring them considering the projects' circumstances are necessary. We also propose indicators, contents, and detailed criteria example for the Requirements management. This approach enables a pragmatic and consistent evaluation of defense projects, and through this, meaningful insights could be acquired with accumulate data.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate sales managers' strategic focus on customer acquisition, specifically its effect on salespeople's performance. In addition, this study aimed to determine how salespeople's interpersonal skills, salesmanship skills, and technical knowledge affect the relationship between customer-acquisition management and salespeople's performance. Research design, data, and methodology: This study conducted a survey of 310 salespeople working at pharmaceutical companies. A structural equation modeling approach was applied to test the main effects and interaction effects using AMOS. Results: The results indicated that both managers' customer-acquisition orientation and salespeople's salesmanship skills and technical knowledge positively affected the latter's performance. Further, it was found that the higher the technical knowledge of the salesperson, the greater the effect of the customer-acquisition orientation on sales performance. Conclusions: Sales managers should enable salespeople to quickly acquire technical knowledge with respect to the market, products, competitors, and company policy so that they can bring greater synergy to the customer-acquisition orientation.

본 연구는 1986년부터 2008년까지 해외기업을 인수한 284개 한국의 상장기업들을 대상으로 인수기업의 피인수기업에 대한 통제수준이 국제 인수합병(M&A) 성과에 미치는 영향에 대하여 실증 분석하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과, 인수기업의 피인수기업에 대한 통제수준이 국제 인수합병 성과와 음(-)의 관계가 있음을 보여주었다. 또한 피인수기업에 대한 통제수준과 문화적 거리의 상호작용은 국제 인수합병 성과와 음(-)의 관계가 있으며, 피인수기업에 대한 통제수준과 관련형 인수의 상호작용도 국제 인수합병 성과와 음(-)의 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 본 연구는 문화적 거리가 클수록 또는 관련형 인수일수록 피인수기업에 대한 통제수준은 국제 인수합병 성과에 더욱 부정적인 영향을 주는 것을 보여주었다. 이러한 결과는 국제 인수합병 성과의 결정요인으로서 피인수기업에 대한 통제수준의 역할에 대한 이해를 높이는 것은 물론, 문화적 거리 및 관련형 인수와 국제 인수합병 성과간의 관계에 대한 설명에 있어서도 피인수기업에 대한 통제수준을 고려함으로써 기존 연구들을 보완해 주고 있다.

In this paper, the acquisition performance of a receiver that utilizes a non-coherent digital correlator is analyzed. In order to analyze the acquisition performance, the probability density function of a receiver output random variable has been derived approximately. Using this function, the acquisition performance of the coarse acquisition code receiver in a global positioning system is analyzed.

In this paper, perfodrmance of matched-filter (MF) acquisition scheme is analyzed for a direct-sequence/code-division-multiple-access (DS/CDMA) system in a microcellular environment. Mean acquistion time is used as a performance measure. It is demonstrated that acquisition performance is enhanced using interference suppression filter in a Rician fading channel. To apply for multiuser environments, multiple access interference is considered in the performance analysis. From the numerical results, it is shown that mean acquistion time decreases with the increasing SNR/chip, and acquisition performance is improved as the number of taps of interference suppression filter. It is also shown that mean acquisition time increases with the number of users in the system, and acquistion performance is degraded as the icrease of narrowband interference bandwidth. The analysis in this paper can be applied to a DS/CDMA overlay environment.

In this paper, the DS/CDMA PN code acquisition system with nonlinear transmitter power amplifier based on digital matched filter (DMF) which has the rapid acquisition time is presented and the performance is evaluated in terms of mean acquisition time, detection probability, and signal to interference under multiuser environment. The performance is presented with respect to the output backoff of the nonlinear amplifier and the correlation window.

The main objectives of this paper are as follows: 1) identifying th procedural characteristics of application software package acquisition and, 2) analyzing the relationship between those characteristics and MIS performance. Three stages and thirty core tasks of the application software package acquisition process were identified after reviewing relevant literature. The model specifying the relationship between procedural characteristics of application software package acquisition and MIS performance was established and 12 hypotheses were derived. Data were collected form 41 Korean companies and hypotheses were tested empirically.

Performance of conventional PN acquisition schemes deteriorates when it is used in a fading channel. A new modified PN acquisition scheme is proposed to improve that performance in a frequency-selective fading channel. Simulation is used for verifying the performance which shows that the new scheme outper-forms the convention PN acquisition scheme using similar hardware.

Since the period of a spreading code in DS/SS communication systems is generally long, it is necessary to make the code acquisition as fast as possible. The code acquisition time can be sued as a measure to evaluate the performance of code acquisition systems. The search rate of serial search codee acquisition system used in the coventional CDMA cellular system is lower than that of the matched filter technique. In order to reduce the code acquisition time, this paper proposes hybrid code acquisition system composed filters combined with serial search blocks. In the proposed system, the matched filter sweeps possible code phases fast and the acquired phase information is verified by the serial search block. The mean and the variance of its acquisition time are calculated and compared with those of double dwell serial search system. The results indicate better performance of the proposed system by yielding its small vaues of the mean and the variance of code acquisition time.

In this paper, we consider the acquisition performance of an IS-95 reverse link access channel slot as a function of system design parameters such as postdetection integration length and the number of access channel message block repetitons. The uncertainty region of the reverse link spreading codes compared to that of forward link is very small, since the uncertainty region of the reverse link is determined by a cell radius. Thus, the parallel acquisiton technique in the reverse link is more efficient than a serial acquisition technique in terms of implementation and of acquisition time. The parallel acquisition is achieved by a bank of N parallel I/Q noncoherent correlator are analyzed for band-limited noise and the Rayleigh fast fading channel. The detection probability is derived for multiple correct code-phase offsets and multipath fading. The probability of no message error is derived when rake combining, access channel message block combining, and Viterbi decoding are applied. Numerical results provide the acquisition performance for system design parameters such as postdetection integration length and number of access channel message block repetitions in case of a random access on a mobile station.
