신규 저소음 및 고효율 머플러 적용 회전식 압축기 개발 (Development of a Low Noise and High Efficiency Rotary Compressor with a New Muffler)

  • The rotary compressor is widely used in the air conditioner because it is efficient and compact. Recently, the need for silent and efficient compressors is much stronger than the past. The new type muffler was invented to reduce the noise level and to improve the efficiency. The new type muffler that has two side discharge holes and dome shape resulted in much lower overall noise level, especially noise levels around 1kHz than the old type one of one center discharge hole in the acoustic spectra. Also it showed a higher efficiency of air conditioner by lowering oil discharging amount of a compressor than old type one of a rectangular shape and two side discharge holes. The noise reduction and efficiency improvement by the new type muffler were verified by tests for votary compressors and air conditioners.

Efficiency of Marine Hydropower Farms Consisting of MultipleVertical Axis Cross-Flow Turbines

  • This study focuses on the Achard turbine, a vertical axis, cross-flow, marine current turbine module. Similar modules can be superposed to form towers. A marine or river hydropower farm consists of a cluster of barges, each gathering several parallel rows of towers, running in stabilized current. Two-dimensional numerical modelling is performed in a horizontal cross-section of all towers, using FLUENT and COMSOL Multiphysics. Numerical models validation with experimental results is performed through the velocity distribution, depicted by Acoustic Doppler Velocimetry, in the wake of the middle turbine within a farm model. As long as the numerical flow in the wake fits the experiments, the numerical results for the power coefficient (turbine efficiency) are trustworthy. The overall farm efficiency, with respect to the spatial arrangement of the towers, was depicted by 2D modelling of the unsteady flow inside the farm, using COMSOL Multiphysics. Rows of overlapping parallel towers ensure the increase of global efficiency of the farm.

선체-부가물 영향을 고려한 비공동 수중추진기의 소음예측 연구 (Study on noise prediction of non-cavitating underwater propeller with hull-appendages effect)

  • 본 연구에서는 대형화, 고속화되어가는 잠수함 추진기의 소음을 보다 정확하게 예측하기 위하여 선체-부가물-추진기의 상호작용이 묘사되는 유동 수치해석을 토대로 비공동 추진기 소음을 예측하였다. 추진기 방사 소음을 예측하기 위해 선체-부가물-추진기 전체영역에 대한 유동 정보를 전산유체역학 해석으로 얻은 뒤, FW-H(Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings) 음향상사법을 적용하여 두께소음, 하중소음에 대한 소음을 수치적으로 예측하였다. 수치적 소음예측 결과는 모형시험을 통해 검증하였으며, 전체 소음 수준과 저주파 대역 소음예측에 있어 계측결과와 좋은 일치를 보였다.

상관관계를 이용한 천해 3층모델의 2층 모델로의 전환조건에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Conversion Condition of Shallow Water 3-layered Model into 2-layered Model with Correlation)

  • 다층 모델이 갖는 문제점을 해소하고, 2층 모델의 지나친 간결성을 보완하기 위해 유체-유체-탄성체로 이루어진 3층 모델을 가정하였다. 일반적으로 퇴적층의 두께가 10파장 이상인 경우, 수층 내의 음장에 대한 암반층의 영향을 무시할 수 있다고 알려져 왔는데, 음장의 계산결과와 실험결과간의 최대 상관계수을 추적하는 방법을 통해 그 같은 조건이 보다 구체화 할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 최대 상관계수를 구하기 위해 단일센서로부터 얻어진 전달손실을 사용하였다. 음속이 1813m/s인 퇴적층을 가정할 경우 50 kHz에서 120 kHz 간의 주파수 범위에서 2층모델로 전환되는 조건은 2.5파장내지 7.7파장 범위에 존재하였다.

  • Two typical impact loadings, shock wave and gas bubble pulse, due to UNDEX(UNDerwater EXplosion), should be considered together for the closest response analysis of structure subjected to UNDEX to a reality. Since these two impact loadings have different response time bands, however, their response characteristics of structure are different from each other. It is impossible to consider these effectively under the current computational environment and the mathematical model has not yet been developed. Whereas Hicks model approximates the fluid-structure interaction due to gas bubble pulse as virtual mass effect, treating the flow by the response of gas bubble after shock wave as incompressible ideal fluid contrary to the compressible flow due to shock wave, Geers-Hunter model could make the closest response analysis of structure under UNDEX to a real one as a mathematical model considering the fluid-structure interaction due to shock wave and gas bubble pulse together using acoustic wave theory and DAA(Doubly Asymptotic Approximation). In this study, the application and effectiveness of integrated dynamic response analysis of submerged structure was examined with the analysis of the shock wave and gas bubble pulse together.

Hydro-elastic analysis of marine propellers based on a BEM-FEM coupled FSI algorithm

  • A reliable steady/transient hydro-elastic analysis is developed for flexible (composite) marine propeller blade design which deforms according to its environmental load (ship speed, revolution speed, wake distribution, etc.) Hydro-elastic analysis based on CFD and FEM has been widely used in the engineering field because of its accurate results however it takes large computation time to apply early propeller design stage. Therefore the analysis based on a boundary element method-Finite Element Method (BEM-FEM) Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) is introduced for computational efficiency and accuracy. The steady FSI analysis, and its application to reverse engineering, is designed for use regarding optimum geometry and ply stack design. A time domain two-way coupled transient FSI analysis is developed by considering the hydrodynamic damping ffects of added mass due to fluid around the propeller blade. The analysis makes possible to evaluate blade strength and also enable to do risk assessment by estimating the change in performance and the deformation depending on blade position in the ship's wake. To validate this hydro-elastic analysis methodology, published model test results of P5479 and P5475 are applied to verify the steady and the transient FSI analysis, respectively. As the results, the proposed steady and unsteady analysis methodology gives sufficient accuracy to apply flexible marine propeller design.

외부 유체와 연성된 도파관의 진동 및 소음 해석 기법 (A Numerical Method for Analysis of the Sound and Vibration of Waveguides Coupled with External Fluid)

  • 단면의 형상이 길이방향으로 일정한 무한길이 도파관 구조물 (waveguide structures)에 대한 진동 및 파동전파 특성은 도파관유한요소법 (waveguide finite element method, WFEM)을 이용해 효과적으로 해석할 수 있다. 도파관유한요소법은 2차원 단면만을 FE 모델링하여 해석하므로 모델의 크기가 작고 연산시간이 짧다는 장점이 있다. 도파관 구조물이 외부 유체와 연성된 경우, 원통형 실린더 또는 파이프와 같이 단면의 형상이 단순한 경우에는 이론적 해석을 수행할 수 있다. 반면 복잡한 형상의 단면을 가진 도파관구조물이 유체와 연성된 경우에는 수치해석 방법이 요구된다. 외부 유체와 연성된 도파관 구조물은 외부 유체와 도파관유한요소 (WFE)를 연성시켜 해석하는 수치해석 방법을 고려할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 외부 유체 모델링에 경계요소 (Boundary Element)를 도입하고 이를 도파관유한요소와 연성시킨 WFE/BE 방법을 소개한다. 이 방법의 적용 예로써 단순형상의 파이프에 대해 외부 유체의 유/무에 따른 분산선도와 가진점 모빌리티 (point mobility)를 구하고 이를 이론해석 결과와 비교하였다. 또한 WFE/BE 방법을 이용해 파이프에서 외부 유체로 방사되는 음향파워를 구하고 접수 유/무에 따른 영향을 살펴보았다.

음향근사기법을 이용한 고속철도 판토그래프의 공력소음 예측 (Prediction of Aerodynamic noise of Pantograph on a high-speed train using the Acoustic Analogy)

  • Nowadays, high speed train has settled down as a fast and convenient environment-friendly transportation and it's need is gradually increasing. However increased train speed leads to increased aerodynamic noise, which causes critically affects comfortability of passengers. Especially, the pantograph of high speed train is protruded out of train body, which is the main factor for increased aerodynamic noise. Since aerodynamic noise caused pantograph should be measured in high speed, it is difficult to measure it and to analysis aerodynamic noise characteristics due to the various types of pantograph. In this research, aerodynamic noise of pantograph is predicted by CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) and FW-H (Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings) equation. Also, Wind tunnel test results and numerical simulation results were compared. As a result, Simulation results predicting sound pressure level is very similar with wind tunnel test result. This research will draw major factor in aerodynamic noise of pantograph and will be utilized for predict sound pressure level of pantograph.

재열기 온도조절 급수배관의 진동저감방안 연구 (A Study on Vibration Control for Reheater Attemperator Piping in Power Plant)

  • A majority of piping vibration problems are induced by internal fluid pulsation; turbulent flow, vortex shedding at internal discontinuities, and pressure pulsation at equipment nozzles. The pulsation at the pressure sources resonates acoustically with the piping and the amplified pressure pulsation can generate shell mode vibration in the piping. Reheater attemperator piping supplies water from feedwater pump to reheater attemperator to control the boiler temperature. In normal operating condition, the high frequency shell mode vibration occurred in the piping with the high level of sound(105 ${\sim}$ 117 dB). The vibration sources are pressure pulsation in the pump nozzle and the frequencies are related to the blade passing frequencies. The objects of this paper are to analyze the cause of the high frequency vibration and to establish corrective actions.

스치는 유동이 존재하는 원형 천공의 음향 임피던스 측정 방법 개선 (Modification of the experimental method for measuring acoustic impedance of perforated elements with grazing flow)

  • Perforated elements are extensively used in mufflers for the intake and exhaust systems of various fluid machines. Perforated elements are usually exposed to grazing flow or cross flow. For analyzing performances of mufflers, the impedance of perforated elements with mean flow is very important. The impedance of perforates under both conditions are measured with different experimental setups. Even if there is no flow, the preceding experimental method for grazing flow shows different values with both theoretical ones and measured under cross flow setup. Using high-order analysis considering phase differences, the experimental method for grazing flow can be modified. The acoustical impedance of perforated impedance contains interaction effects between orifices. After correcting these effects, the measured impedance with grazing flow setup show similar results with both theoretical impedance and measured ones under cross flow setup.
