동축공기 수소확산 화염에서의 화염과 와류의 상호작용 실험연구 (Experimental Study on Flame-Vortex Interactions in Turbulent Hydrogen Non-premixed Flames with Coaxial Air)

  • This paper investigates the effects of acoustic forcing on NOx emissions and mixing process in the near field region of turbulent hydrogen nonpremixed flames. The resonance frequency was selected to force the coaxial air jet acoustically, because the resonance frequency is effective to amplify the forcing amplitude and reduce NOx emissions. When the resonance frequency is acoustically excited, a streamwise vortex is formed in the mixing layer between the coaxial air jet and coflowing air. As the vortex develops downstream, it entrains both ambient air and combustion products into the coaxial air jet to mix well. In addition, the strong vortex pulls the flame surface toward the coaxial air jet, causing intense chemical reaction. Acoustic excitation also causes velocity fluctuations of coaxial air jet as well as fuel jet but, the maximum value of centerline fuel velocity fluctuation occurs at the different phases of $\Phi$=$180^{\circ}$ for nonreacting case and $\Phi$=$0^{\circ}$ for reacting case. Since acoustic excitation enhances the mixing rate of fuel and air, the line of the stoichiometric mixture fraction becomes narrow. Finally, acoustic forcing at the resonance frequency reduces the normalized flame length by 15 % and EINOx by 25 %, compared to the flame without acoustic excitation.

음향공명기의 비선형 음향감쇠 특성에 관한 수치적 연구 (Numerical Study of Nonlinear Acoustic Damping Induced by Acoustic Resonators in a Combustion Chamber)

  • 반파장 공명기가 장착된 연소실의 비선형 음향 감쇠를 알아보기 위하여 비선형 음향해석을 수행하였다. 먼저 공명기가 없는 기본 연소실에 80 dB에서 150 dB의 넓은 범위의 음향파를 가진하여 음향장을 분석하였다. 제 1 접선방향 음향 모드의 감쇠율은 가진되는 음향파의 크기에 따라 비선형적으로 증가하였고, 125 dB 이상부터 비선형성이 나타나기 시작했다. 다음으로 반파장 공명기의 감쇠 효과를 조사하였다. 선형해석으로부터 유도된 최적의 음향학적인 동조 조건이 비선형 음향해석에서도 여전히 유효함을 알 수 있었다. 큰 음향파의 섭동에 대한 감쇠는 효과적이지만, 선형 음향 가진에 비해서 음향학적인 감쇠기로써의 기능은 작아짐을 알 수 있었다.

  • For high-speed aircraft and high-speed civil transport planes, certain structural skin components are subjected to very large acoustic loads in an elevated thermal environment. In this study, we used the single-mode Fokker-Panck distribution to predict displacements of isotropic plates subject to thermo-acoustic combined load. The single mode was formulated to predict the nonlinear dynamic responses of postbuckled plates under acoustic random excitation. Acoustic random excitation was used with Gauss distribution. Some important effects of the snap-through motion on the dynamic responses of the postbuckled plates are described.

  • The effects of acoustic excitation with various frequencies for combustion air as well as fuel on the combustion emission and local NO concentration in diffusion flame were investigated experimentally. It was studied to investigate the effects of combination between four frequencies for the fuel and various frequencies for the combustion air. The better characteristic for NO emission was revealed by acoustic exciting with frequencies for the air and the fuel excited at 0Hz and 120Hz and the generation of CO was decreased at low frequency for fuel and the excited combustion air. The amount of combustion emission could be controlled by acoustic exciting of the combustion air. And when both fuel and air are excited by some frequencies, the diffusion flame was affected by frequency which excited fuel in the middle of the flame and by air-exciting frequency at both sides of the flame. The local NO in the flame was generated much less at the condition that fuel was excited by frequencies than the condition was not.

  • In this paper, the 2-phase excitation method is proposed to reduce vibration and noise. This excitation method produces reluctance torque by mutual action between two phases as well as conventional-reluctance torque due to two phases excitation at a time. The vibration and acoustic noise is reduced thought the sequential phase excitation. This is because that the scheme reduces abrupt change of excitation level by distributed. balanced excitation.

  • Helical gear excitation is transmitted to a gearbox through the shafts and bearings and the vibration of the gearbox radiates the noise in the air. Therefore gearbox modeling is essential to evaluate the gear noise. This work deals with vibration and acoustic analysis of a cylindrical shell-type gearbox with/without holes excited by helical gears and focuses on the development of the simple gearbox model. To do so, helical gears and bearing forces are calculated. Gearbox with/without holes is modeled by the aluminum end plates and PMMA cylindrical shell body. The vibration mode and the forced harmonic response were calculated by the commercial FE software and the end plate of the gearbox is more contributed to vibration than the body. Acoustic analysis was also conducted by the commercial acoustic software and a cylindrical shell type gearbox with/without holes has the similar vibro-acoustic characteristics.

  • A new excitation method of switched reluctance motor drive is described in this paper. This excitation method produces reluctance torque by mutual action between two phases as well as conventional self reluctance torque due to two phase excitation at a time. In other words, the change of self inductance and mutual inductance are used to produce torque. This paper suggests the operational principle, the mechanism of torque product of switched reluctance motor with two phase excitation. The acoustic noise characteristics of two phase excitation method are described against that of conventional excitation method.

음향 가진된 충돌 역 확산화염의 화염형상과 열전달 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Flame Appearance and Heat Transfer Characteristics of Acoustically Excited Impinging Inverse Diffusion Flames)

  • 본 오디오 스피커로 음향 가진과 비가진 된 충돌 역 확산화염에서 화염의 형상과 열전달 특성에 관한 실험적 연구를 수행하였다. 가진에 의해 화염은 반응대가 넓어지고 화염 길이는 좀 더 짧아지는 경향을 보이며 충돌판의 정체점에서 열전달 성능인 열유속은 가진에 의해 향상되는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 가진 효과는 당량비가 높은 과농한 상태 보다 상대적으로 낮은 혼합 상태에서 효과적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 파악되는데 이는 가진에 의해 주위산화제가 연료 분류로의 유입이 향상되어 나타나는 것으로 판단된다. 이러한 현상으로 본 연구에서는 당량비가 0.8인 경우 정체점에서 총 열유속이 최대 57% 증가되는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 가진 연소가 충돌 분류 화염에서 열전달 성능을 향상시키는데 효과적인 방법임을 확인하게 되었다.

  • 초음파가진 열화상시험 중 가진 방법이 시편에 가진된 진동의 시스템 응답 특성에 미치는 영향에 대하여 연구하였다. 복잡한 현상을 가진 터빈 블레이드 시편에 가진된 진동의 특성을 분석하기 위하여 고출력 가진이 가능한 초음파 혼이 사용되었다. 초음파 혼에 입력되는 신호의 특성이 가진된 진동의 특성에 미치는 영향에 대하여 연구하였고 블레이드를 클램프에 고정한 후 가진기와 클램프를 연결하는 방법이 진동신호에 미치는 영향에 대해서도 연구하였다. 연구 결과를 통하여 첩(chirp) 입력선호와 볼트를 사용하여 클램프와 혼을 연결하는 방법을 가진 방법으로 제안하였다. 이러한 가진 방법은 다양한 종류의 터빈 블레이드 뿐만 아니라 다른 기계부품들의 시험에 적용될 수 있다.

  • HDD structure is excited by the dynamic motion of disk-spindle motor components. Those excitations which are generated at stator and magnet rotor, at bearings and from disk dynamics, are transmitted through motor spindle and flange to HDD cover and base. The operational deflection shape measurement can show the structural excitation patterns at the most influent frequency on the acoustic noise level. One of those components is the axial excitation along spindle, and the other is the local orbital excitation at contact area of motor flange and base. To make a reduction of those structural transmission excitations, the structure of spindle motor is modified to the direction of reinforcement at transmission path without change of bearings, magnet and coil. Some excitation of spindle motor component carrying out essential function is unavoidable. So it is the efficient way of HDD noise improvement to control the structural transmission of excitation.
