  • This paper investigates the effect of hardware impairments (HIs) and imperfect channel state information (ICSI) on a SWIPT-assisted adaptive nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA)/orthogonal multiple access (OMA) system over independent and nonidentical Rayleigh fading channels. In the NOMA mode, the energy-constrained near users act as a relay to improve the performance for the far users. The OMA transmission mode is adopted to avoid a complete outage when NOMA is infeasible. The best user selection scheme is considered to maximize the energy harvested and avoid error propagation. To characterize the performance of the proposed systems, closed-form and asymptotic expressions of the outage probability for both near and far users are studied. Moreover, exact and approximate expressions of the ergodic rate for near and far users are investigated. Simulation results are provided to verify our theoretical analysis and confirm the superiority of the proposed NOMA/OMA scheme in comparison with the conventional NOMA and OMA protocol with/without HIs and ICSI.

  • In this paper, we propose a new scheme that improve the performance of the conventional link access scheme in DSRC MAC and evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme. By using carrier sensing mechanism in random access channels, the proposed scheme can reduce the probability that the collisions among the link access traffics with different priorities may occur in random access channels, and provide differentiated link access delays according to the priorities. Furthermore, the proposed scheme can improve the performance of link access by using modified reservation mode. According to simulation results, it is shown that the proposed scheme is better than conventional method in view of the mean access delay and throughput in random access channels.

  • In this paper, we propose an early spectrum sensing(ESS) as an advance preparation for radio-access trial, which enables multi-mode terminals to access the most appropriate radio-access system in a cloud-conceptual base station system where multiple radio access technologies(RATs) coexist. Prior to a random access to one of RATs, a multi-mode terminal conducts a spectrum sensing over entire frequency bands of whole RATs, then select the RAT with the lowest sensing power, that is likely to have the most available spectrum. Thus, an access failure caused by that the selected RAT has no available radio spectrum could be avoidable in advance. In computer simulation, we consider as various RATs as possible. First, circuit and packet systems are taken into consideration. In addition, the packet systems are classified according to the feasibility of carrier aggregation(CA). In case of terminal, three modes are considered with circuit-only, packet-only, and multi-mode. Subsequently, packet traffic is classified into real-time and non-real-time traffic with three different tolerable delay levels. The simulation includes a call process starting with a call generation and ending up with a resource allocation reflecting individual user's QoS requirements and evaluates the proposed scheme in terms of the successful access probability, system access time, system balancing factor and packet loss probability.

  • This paper proposes a multichannel random access channel allocation scheme for multihop cellular networks to guarantee the stable throughput of a random access. The fundamental contribution is a mathematical formula for an optimal partition ratio of shared random access channels between a base station and a relay station. In addition, the proposed scheme controls the retransmission probability of random access packets under heavy load condition. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can guarantee the required random access channel utilization and packet transmission delay even if the a random access packet arrival rate is higher than 0.1.

  • In this paper, we evaluate performance of multiple access for distributed wireless communication network by CSMA protocol. It is envident that the existence of hidden node in an environment degrades the performance of CSMA. In order to improve performance due to the problem of hidden node, the previous paper used random multiple access protocols a as such as ISMA, BTMA, BCMA. In this paper, We propose a protocol that we can improve performance by allowing node to sense the carrier of any other transmission on the channel in the distributed wireless communication networks The probability of transmission success was obtained by steady stats analysis under given assumptions. We confirmed that hidden node problem be virtually elimated by using a new protocol.

  • The ACR (Access Control Router) of WiBro processes location registration of the Correspondent Node and Home Agent as the Correspondent Node moves between ACRs. Therefore, the location update cost is low compared with MIPv6. However, all packets which are sent and received are sent through the ACR, so as the number of mobile nodes that are managed by the ACR increases, the cost of packet delivery also increases. Therefore, the communication state of the ACR domain remains smooth when the ACR which manages the mobile node in the ACR domain has good performance. However, network delays occur unless the ACR performs well, so the role of the ACR is important. In this paper, we analysis performance of the ACR for efficient realization of the WiBro standard. By using the Deny Probability and the Total Profit of ACR performance and apply it to the Random Walk Mobility model as the mobility model.

  • NOMA (Non-orthogonal multiple Access) system has been focused on the next generation cellular system for higher spectral efficiency. However, this requires user scheduling as the NOMA system is a multi-user system which accesses simultaneously. There are two representative scheduling schemes, proportionate scheduling (FP) and cumulative distribution function (CFD) scheduling. The PF scheduling is applied, the cell edge user is hard to obtain a transmit opportunity. Recently, CDF scheduling is obviously noted that it offers the same possibility of transmission for a user regardless of the location in a cell. We consider an uplink NOMA system with CDF scheduling, and obtain the channel access probabilities, the outage probabilities of the system with different number of users and different kinds of weights through simulation. The results indicate that the likelihood of each user accessing the channel is the same and the probability of failure decreases as the number of users increases. We found that the effect of the probability of failure is negligible as the weight of the cell edge user increases.

  • In this paper, we consider a system with massive user equipments (UEs) in a cell and assume path loss and Rayleigh fading channels between the base station (BS) and UEs. In addition, it is assumed that the system bandwidth consists of multiple identical frequency subchannels. Under such assumptions, we propose a channel state information (CSI) feedback scheme and a resource allocation scheme for non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) transmission in order to reduce the feedback overhead of CSI generated by massive UEs and to reduce the complexity of resource allocation. In particular, for the proposed schemes, we analyze the sum data rate achievable by massive UEs in a cell and the outage probability with which the UEs in a cell do not meet the target data rate. Through the simulation results, we show that the proposed schemes can provide the superior outage probability, although it degrades the average sum data rate.

  • The error probability for coherent frequency-hopped spread-spectrum multiple-access communications is computed by using characteristic function method. We employ PSK as a modulation scheme. The channel capacity is performance measure and the minimum bit signal-to-noise ratio for reliable communications is obtained.

  • An ATM switch is the basic component of an ATM network, and its functioning is to switch incoming cells arriving at an input port to the output port associated with an appropriate virtual path. In case of an ATM switch with buffer sharing scheme, the performance analysis is very difficult due to the interactions between the address queues. In this paper, the influences of the degree of traffic burstiness and some traffic routing properties are investigated by using the simulation. Also, some cell access strategies including priority access and cell dropping are compared in terms of cell loss probability.
