  • This study investigates aggressive children's perceptions of their social acceptance in conjunction with peer ratings of social acceptance. The subjects were 520 children in the fifth through sixth grades. Children completed questionnaires that assessed self-perceptions of social acceptance. In addition, they completed peer nominations that assessed peer victimization, aggression, and peer acceptance, while their teachers rated children's externalizing problems. The results suggest that aggressive children's self-perceived social acceptance is inflated in relation to the ratings of their peers. For aggressive-rejected children, a highly positive self-perception was shown to be not a protective factor, but rather a defensive posture that places the children at added risk.

  • It is generally agreed that realizing the full potential of the internet shopping mall(ISM) requires careful identification of customer needs and expectations. However, a quantitative framework to explain and predict users' behavior toward ISM has not been well established because the research on the user acceptance of ISM is still in its infancy. This study proposes a model which uses factor analysis to identify factors of ISM characteristics and individual characteristics affecting user acceptance of ISM. Predictive models based on the multiple regression analyses select the factors and their interactions with individual characteristics that significantly influence user acceptance. Results show that five factors including economy, convenience, credibility, reliability, information risks, and performance risks affects user acceptance. In addition, individual differences in terms of innovativeness, playfulness, and recreational shopping traits have both direct and interaction effects on user acceptance. The implication of this study is that, although user attitudes towards ISM characteristics in general are important to their acceptance behavior, the level of importance depends upon different user groups.

  • This study aims to determine the effects of clothing consumption value, usefulness of clothing and ease of use on the new product acceptance intention of premium linen apparel. A survey was conducted among male and female consumers, and a total of 328 responses were analyzed. Frequency, factor analysis, and multiple regression analysis were used for data analysis using SPSS WIN Ver.21.0. The results of this study are as follows. First, clothing consumption value was classified into five factors: social value, fashionable value, individual value, practical value and emotional value. Usefulness and ease of use were found two factors and the new product acceptance intention of premium linen apparel was found one factor. Second, all factors of clothing consumption value had a positive effect on usefulness. The higher the values of the five factors of clothing consumption value, the higher usefulness. Third, fashionable value affected ease of use, but individual value had no positive effect on ease of use. The higher the fashionable value, the higher the ease of use, but, the higher the individual value, the lower the ease of use. Fourth, all factors of clothing consumption value had a positive effect on the new product acceptance intention of premium linen apparel. Therefore, clothing consumption value is important to the new product acceptance intention of premium linen apparel. Moreover, usefulness and ease of use influenced the new product acceptance intention of premium linen apparel. This shows that consumers' new product acceptance intention of premium linen apparel increases if the product is they are perceived to be useful and easy to use.

  • Purpose: We evaluated the psychometric properties of a questionnaire on the acceptance of the quality improvement information system (QIIS) among long-term care workers (mostly nurses). Methods: The questionnaire composes of 21 preliminary questions with 5 domains based on the Technology Acceptance Model and related literature reviews. We developed a prototype web-based comprehensive resident assessment system, and collected data from 126 subjects at 75 long-term care facilities and hospitals, who used the system and responded to the questionnaire. A priori factor structure was developed using an exploratory factor analysis and validated by a confirmatory factor analysis; its reliability was also evaluated. Results: A total of 16 items were yielded, and 5 factors were extracted from the explanatory factor analysis: Usage Intention, Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Social Influence, and Innovative Characteristics. The five-factor structure model had a good fit (Tucker-Lewis index [TLI]=.976; comparative fit index [CFI]=.969; standardized root mean squared residual [SRMR]=.052; root mean square error of approximation [RMSEA]=.048), and the items were internally consistent(Cronbach's ${\alpha}=.91$). Conclusion: The questionnaire was valid and reliable to measure the technology acceptance of QIIS among long-term care workers, using the prototype.

  • This study investigated relationships between mother's perfectionism and child's unconditional selfacceptance, depression, and anxiety. Participants were 602 4th, 5th and 6th grade elementary school children(mean age=11) and their mothers. Children reported levels of unconditional self-acceptance, depression, and anxiety; mothers reported their own perfectionism. Mother's perfectionism was positively related to her child's depression and anxiety. The unconditional self-acceptance of the child was negatively related to child's depression and anxiety. Child's unconditional self-acceptance was found to have moderating effects on the relationship between mother's perfectionism and child's depression and anxiety. The findings of this study indicated that unconditional self-acceptance functions as a protective factor for children who might have such psychological problems as depression and anxiety.

  • A method of calculating the excess Helmholtz free energy from the average of the bent effective acceptance ratio for two-center-Lennard-Jones liquids has been presented. The bent effective acceptance ratio has been newly composed from the acceptan ce ratio for the potential energy difference between a configuration in the Metropolis Monte Carlo procedure and random virtual configuration generated by the separate parallel Monte Carlo procedure and the Boltzmann factor for half the potential energy difference. The excess Helmholtz free energy was calculated directly from the average of the bent effective acceptance ratio through a single Metropolis Monte Carlo run. Because the separate parallel Monte Carlo procedure was used, this method can be applied to molecular dynamics simulations. For two-center-Lennard-Jones liquids, the average of the bent effective acceptance ratio gave better results than use of the modified effective acceptance ratio in the previous work.

  • The quality of service in ERP services is a key issue in innovating the ERP performance as an IT service for corporations. Currently, most of the research works for this area are based on the existing quality models such as SERVQUAL, which are said not to measure service quality properly. Also, it does not consider the factor of the system acceptance, which is thought to be closely related to the quality of service in this type of IT services. Therefore, a research model is required, which can address the issues related to the ERP service quality measurements. In this paper, new research models have been proposed, and empirical data obtained from SME's ERP users have been applied to the proposed model to analyze the causal relationship between quality factors and to identify the most suitable quality measures. Also, the relationship between the service quality and the system acceptance was analyzed using a combined model. The results show that factors such as productivity and convenience affects the quality mostly and that the most appropriate measure for the service quality of ERP service is satisfaction. Also, for the system acceptance, the ease-of-use is the main factor. And, the service quality and system acceptance shows a strong correlation. This means that, in order to enhance the quality of ERP services, the service provider needs to provide customers with productivity-enhanced user-friendly IT services and active product support. The work of this research can help to improve the service quality and the user acceptance of ERP services and to lead further research works in this area.
