Optimum time-censored ramp soak-stress ALT plan for the Burr type XII distribution

  • Accelerated life tests (ALTs) are extensively used to determine the reliability of a product in a short period of time. Test units are subject to elevated stresses which yield quick failures. ALT can be carried out using constant-stress, step-stress, progressive-stress, cyclic-stress or random-stress loading and their various combinations. An ALT with linearly increasing stress is ramp-stress test. Much of the previous work on planning ALTs has focused on constant-stress, step-stress, ramp-stress schemes and their various combinations where the stress is generally increased. This paper presents an optimal design of ramp soak-stress ALT model which is based on the principle of Thermal cycling. Thermal cycling involves applying high and low temperatures repeatedly over time. The optimal plan consists in finding out relevant experimental variables, namely, stress rates and stress rate change points, by minimizing variance of reliability function with pre-specified mission time under normal operating conditions. The Burr type XII life distribution and time-censored data have been used for the purpose. Burr type XII life distribution has been found appropriate for accelerated life testing experiments. The method developed has been explained using a numerical example and sensitivity analysis carried out.

탄소강의 유동가속부식에 미치는 크롬의 영향 (Effect of Cr on Flow Accelerated Corrosion of Carbon Steel)

  • The alloy content of structural materials of nuclear power plants has been recognized an important factor in predicting flow accelerated corrosion (FAC). In particular, many literature data reported that chromium content is one of the most important alloying element and even a small amount of chromium is effective to suppress FAC. This report reviewed and compared chromium models of Ducreux, Bouchacourt, and Kastner which were used in predicting FAC rates. The plant data indicate that Ducreux model may be conservative for the specimen containing 0.15 wt% chromium. The related articles were reviewed as follows. Combined effects of chromium content, pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen (DO), flow velocity, test time, and kinds of amine on the FAC rate were described. 0.1 wt% chromium in steel did not affect the FAC rate with changes in pH. The FAC rates pronounced with higher flow rate and increased with increasing test duration(600 d) for 0.013 wt% chromium. The FAC rates in mixed amine chemistry were higher than in ammonia chemistry, which may be lessened by the addition of chromium to the steel.

  • Hall-type current sensors have been widely used in many fields such as elevator and train system. To estimate lifetime of hall-type current sensors, an accelerated life test with real-time monitoring system simultaneously was designed and performed in high temperature environment with three different temperatures. From the experimental results, activation energy was about 0.9 eV, and acceleration factor was about 450 based on Arrhenius model. As a results, $B_{10}$ lifetime of hall-type current sensor is estimated to be 65,460 hours.

  • Stainless steel sheets are widely used as the structure material for the railroad cars and the commercial vehicles. These kinds structures used stainless steel sheets are commonly fabricated by using the gas welding. Gas welding is very important and useful technology in fabrication of a railroad car and vehicles structure.However fatigue strength of the gas welded joints is considerably lower than parent metal due to stress concentration at the weld, fatigue strength evaluation of gas welded joints are very important to evaluate the reliability and durability of railroad cars and to establish a criterion of long life fatigue design. In this paper, $({\Delta}{\sigma}_a)_R-N_f$ curve were obtained by fatigue tests. Using these results, the accelerated life test(ALT) was conducted. From the experimental results, an acceleration model was derived and acceleration factors are estimated. So it is intended to obtain the useful information for the fatigue lifetime of plug and ring gas welded joints and data analysis by statistic reliability method, to save time and cost, and to develop optimum accelerated life prediction plans.

소형 굴삭기의 주행구동유니트 시험평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Track Drive Unit Test and Evaluation for Mini Excavators)

  • Track drive unit adopted in the small sized excavator generally have been used in the construction equipment under the 10 tons as the driving device with forwarding and reversing of excavator. It is required to study the accelerated life test applied by over torque and speed to test the durability life test reflected the many driving modes of small sized excavator and also need to equip the comprehensive performance and life test equipments to do the various performance tests. This study had analyzed the failure modes of the components, and calculated the equivalent loads investigated the used loads in the real field conditions and elicits the acceleration factor adopted in the inverse power model. Also, this study have considered the changes of the acceleration factor and the durability test time in the case of the rotary group and the bearing through analyzing the main failure modes. It was calculated the no failure test time about 2 samples and confidence level 90% and elicited the accelerated life time 720 hours.

  • In this paper, we aim to check the reliability growth of multiple launch rocket components by the life evaluation. We apply the Crow-AMSAA model to the sets of test data obtained from the development phase. The result of the data analysis shows that the reliability of some components needs to be improved. In order to improve their reliability, we analyze the failure mechanism and change their designs. The verification of the reliability growth for those components is done by analyzing the data sets obtained by the accelerated life tests. As a result, we show that the MTBF of those components is increased and also their reliabilities improved.

아스팔트 콘크리트의 전단 물성을 고려한 영구변형 모형 개발 및 보정 (Development and Calibration of a Permanent Deformation Model for Asphalt Concrete Based on Shear Properties)

  • 본 연구에서는 아스팔트 콘크리트의 전단 물성을 고려한 영구변형 예측 모델을 개발하였다. 아스팔트 콘크리트의 전단 물성과 영구변형과의 상관성을 고찰하기 위해서 세 가지 종류의 아스팔트 콘크리트에 대해서 반복재하삼축압축(RLTC) 시험 및 삼축압축강도 시험과 간접인장강도 시험을 다양한 하중과 온도 조건에서 시행하였다. 주어진 아스팔트 콘크리트에 대하여 온도가 증가함에 따라 점착력은 감소하였으나 온도가 $40^{\circ}C$ 이상인 경우 마찰각은 온도 변화에 민감하지 않은 거동을 나타내었다. 축차응력, 구속압, 온도 및 하중 주파수가 영구변형에 미치는 영향이 크다는 것을 관측할 수 있었다. 이러한 실내 시험 결과로 부터 아스팔트 콘크리트의 전단물성과 하중재하시간에 기초한 영구변형 모델을 개발하였다. 또한 일반적인 포장 단면에서 실시한 포장가속시험 결과를 이용해서 영구변형 모델을 보정하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 영구변형 모델을 이용하여 다양한 온도와 하중조건에서 아스팔트 콘크리트의 영구변형을 예측할 수 있었다.

  • 최근 무기체계의 개발에서 핵심부품 구성품의 신뢰성 시험이 국방전력발전 업무훈령 규정에 반영되고 각 종 부품의 복잡도의 증가로 인하여서 신뢰성의 중요도가 강조되고 있고 그에 따라서 신뢰성 시험의 중요성 또한 강조되고 있다. 또한 핵심 구성품의 수명시험 비용과 기간을 단축하기 위해서는 가속수명시험 기법의 적절한 적용이 요구되어 있다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 헬기에 장착되는 블래더형 축압기를 대상으로 한 신뢰성시험 설계 방법을 연구하고 신뢰성 시험 설계에 필요한 프로세스를 제시 하였다. 축압기의 신뢰성 시험을 설계하기 위해 고장률예측, 고장모드 영향 분석, 고장나무분석 등의 기법을 이용하여 주요 고장모드와 고장 메커니즘을 조사하고 2-Stage QFD를 통하여서 각 고장모드의 우선순위 및 중요도를 체크함과 동시에 주요 스트레스 인자를 분석하여 적절한 가속 모델을 선택했다. 그리고 필요 시료 수와 신뢰도 수준 및 각각의 스트레스 조건에 따라서 무고장 시험 설계법을 참고하여 정상상태의 신뢰성시험을 설계하였고 또한 선택한 가속 모델을 사용하여 계산한 가속계수에 따라 가속 수명시험시간을 계산하였다.

  • Purpose: In this study, the reliability growth management procedures for armed vehicle is suggested and an illustrative case study of launcher system is given. Methods: Crow-AMSAA model is adopted to manage reliability growth of armed vehicle using failure data acquired from development test phase to field operation phase. Between the development test phase and the production phase, the suggested reliability growth procedures for armed vehicle entails accelerated life test of the selected module whose design is changed to improve its reliability for assuring the target system reliability. And it can be verified through estimating the system reliability based on the failure data of field operation phase. Results: It is shown that the proposed reliability growth management procedures are effective for armed vehicle based on the case study of launcher system. After estimating the reliability of launcher system at every development test, some items are selected to change their designs for improving reliability. Accelerated life test is performed to prove the reliability improvement and finally it is verified through the field operation. Conclusion: The reliability growth management procedures for armed vehicle is suggested and the case study of launcher system shows it can be effective for managing the reliability growth of the armed vehicle.
