저소득.일반가정 유아의 학습관련 기술과 초기학습능력: 어머니 교육참여의 조절효과를 중심으로 (Learning-related Skills and Academic Abilities of Young Children: The Moderating Effects of Their Mothers' Involvement)

  • This study investigated the effects of young children's learning-related skills and the maternal involvement on academic abilities. The sample consisted of 310 children from 7 child-care centers located in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. All variables were measured by the teachers and the mothers of surveyed children. The instrument included the Korean Child Development Inventory(K-CDI) for 4 to 6-year olds and Preschool Learning Behavior Scale(McDermott et al 2000) and the questionnaire on mother's involvement about their children's education. The collected data was analyzed by t-test and hierarchical regression using the SPSS Program. The findings are as follows. First, regardless of the family income level, verbal comprehension and numerical abilities were positively associated with their learning-related skills of young children. Second, the interaction effect of learning-related skills and the mothers' involvement on verbal comprehension of young children in the low-income families was observed. However, no interaction effect was seen in terms of learning-related skills and the maternal involvement on verbal comprehension and numerical abilities of young children in the high-income families. These findings highlight the importance of learning-related skills and their mothers' involvement during the preschool period for the low-income family in improving the early academic achievement.

다수준 분석을 이용한 청소년의 학교 내 손상 관련 요인 (Factors associated with Unintentional Injuries to Korean Adolescents at School: A Multilevel Study)

  • Purpose: This study aims at identifying individual- and school-level factors associated with unintentional injuries to Korean adolescents at school by applying multilevel modeling. Methods: From the database of the eleventh Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey (KYRBS), the researchers selected 68,043 adolescents from the $7^{th}$ to the $12^{th}$ grades. Data were analyzed using ${\chi}^2$ test for prevalence and multilevel modeling for related factors of unintentional injuries at school. Results: About 22.9 percent of the adolescents had treatment experiences for unintentional injuries at school in the past 12 months. At the individual level, the significant factors associated with unintentional injuries at school included gender, grade, academic achievement, current smoking, alcohol consumption, frequency of high caffeine intake, depression, and relief of fatigue after sleep. At the group level, the significant factors included number of physical education per week and safety education. Conclusion: School based injury prevention programs should be sensitive to both individual- and school-level factors associated with unintentional injury at school among Korean adolescents.

의과대학생의 정신건강 증진을 위한 지원의 틀과 방안 (A Comprehensive Framework and Approaches for Enhancing Mental Health in Medical Students)

  • Research suggests that medical students frequently experience mental health problems such as stress, burnout, and depression, which may, in turn, affect suicidal ideation and behaviors. Since mental health problems profoundly impact academic achievement and professionalism, it is vital to understand factors influencing students' mental health and identify strategies to provide the necessary support. Some relevant influencing factors range from the personal level, including gender, personality traits, perfectionism, and social support, to the environmental level, including the grading system, educational phases, exposure to patients' death, mistreatment, and culture of medicine. In this regard, a comprehensive mental health support system that encompasses environmental interventions, as well as personal-level support, is needed. Simultaneously, proactive approaches that address the improvement of self-care and alleviation of systemic burdens are essential, together with the predominant reactive approaches focusing on problems and deficits. Altogether, we proposed a framework for enhancing mental health constructed by four categories (personal-reactive, environmental-reactive, personal-proactive, environmental-proactive) based on the intervention level and goal of support. All four categories have important implications, and one cannot replace the other, but expanding environmental-proactive support will allow more students to learn how to pursue health independently. We expect that this comprehensive framework for enhancing mental health could expand support systems for medical students' personal and professional development.

전문대학생을 위한 학습전략 진단 도구의 개발 (Development of Learning Strategy Scale for College Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop of learning strategy scale for college students. This study further classified several sub-areas and defined each concepts of learning strategy. Based upon the classification of each sub-areas, tentative test items were developed through the verification of validity by three professionals. A pilot study of the developed scale was administered to 239 college students. And the research collected major data from 1,012 college students. Data were analyzed to obtain item quality, reliability, and validity analysis. The results of this study were as follows. The scale for learning strategy was defined by eight factors and they were 'self-management strategy', 'examination-readiness strategy', 'cognitive strategy', 'memorizing strategy', 'reporting strategy', 'resource-utilization strategy', 'self-regulated strategy', 'cooperative learning strategy'. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis proved the eight factors in the learning strategy. And criterion validity evidence was also obtained from a correlation analysis of the level of academic achievement.

고등학교에서 시각적 사고에 기반한 인포그래픽 활용 물리 수업의 효과 (The Effect of Physics Instruction Using Infographics Based on Visual Thinking in High School)

  • 본 연구는 특성화 고등학교 학생들을 대상으로 물리 교과서에 제시된 인포그래픽 자료들을 활용하여 시각적 사고에 기반한 인포그래픽 활용 수업을 실시하고, 그 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 각 60명의 학생들을 실험집단과 통제집단으로 나누고, 실험집단에 '인포그래픽 개념형성, 인포그래픽 이해활동, 인포그래픽 구성활동'으로 구성된 25차시의 수업을 실시하였고, 통제집단에는 일반적인 강의식 수업을 진행하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학생들이 구성한 인포그래픽의 특징은 '단순 배치'에서 '단순 재구성', '일러스트형'에서 '비교분석형'으로 표현 방식이 변화되었는데, 이는 구성 횟수 증가에 따른 학생들의 시각적 사고의 활성화에 의한 것이다. 둘째, 인포그래픽 활용 수업으로 인해 시각적 사고는 이해도, 가시도, 유용성, 소통성 영역에서 유의미하게 향상되었다. 셋째, 인포그래픽 활용 수업 후 실험집단의 성취도 평균 점수가 유의미하게 향상되었다. 넷째, 과학적 태도 검사에서는 '과학자의 평범성, 과학적 탐구의 태도, 과학적 태도의 수용' 영역에서 유의미한 향상이 있었다. 이상과 같은 연구 결과로부터, 인포그래픽 활용 수업은 학생들의 시각적 사고력 향상을 통해 과학 개념 이해, 의사소통력이 높아져 학업성취도와 과학적 태도에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

Development and Validation of Life Safety Awareness Scale of High School Students and Analysis of Interindividual Differences

  • Life safety awareness level diagnosis is necessary for customized safety education and continuous safety awareness. As the starting stage of safety education for each life cycle, a scale that has verified the reliability and validity of high school students' life safety awareness has not yet been developed. In this context, the purpose of this study is to develop and validate the life safety awareness scale of high school students and to analyze interindividual differences. Questionnaire data was collected from April to June 2022 from 834 students in the first, second, and third grades of high schools in △△ city in Jeollabuk-do. A final 25-item scale was developed using the preliminary survey, preliminary test, the main test, descriptive statistical analysis, and exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. This scale consists of four sub-factors: 'safety prevention', 'safety knowledge', 'safety preparation', and 'safety protection'. Good reliability and validity were verified by analysis of content validity and construct validity. The generalizability of the scale was verified by crossover validation between the search group and the crossover group. Based on the interindividual differences analysis, although there was a difference between genders in life safety awareness, there was no difference by grade level and academic achievement. This study is significant in developing the first valid scale that can measure high school students' life safety awareness and providing the necessity and rationale for life safety education by life cycle considering individual gender differences.

한국 청소년의 신체활동과 에너지음료 섭취와의 관련성 (Analysis of Relationship between Physical Activity and Energy Drinks Consumption in Korean Adolescents)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between physical activity and energy drinks consumption in Korean Adolescents. Methods: This study was a secondary data analysis using statistics from the 2017(13th) Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey. The variables used in the study were physical activity, energy drinks consumption and socio-demographic characteristics such as gender, academic achievement, household economic status and weekly allowance. The data were analyzed by $x^2$ test and multinominal logistic regression and the results were presented in percentage. Results: As the number of days engaging in moderate and vigorous physical activities increased, the response that they consume energy drinks 'more than 5 times a week' also increased. The subjects who participated in a 'moderate' or 'high' level of moderate physical activity consumed 1.4 times more energy drinks than those who do not participate in physical activity. And the subjects who engaged in a 'low' or 'moderate' level of vigorous physical activity consumed about 1.3 times more energy drinks than those who don't work out. Conclusion: As the level and intensity of physical activity increased, the number and frequency of energy drinks consumption increased. The results of this study can be used as basic data for intervention programs to reduce energy drinks consumption and promote proper physical activity.

청소년 자녀의 건강관련 삶의 질에 대한 부모와 자녀의 인식차이가 청소년 우울에 미치는 영향 (Correlates of Depression and Perception Gap of Adolescents' Health-Related Quality of Life between Parents and Children)

  • Objectives: The objective of this study is to evaluate the correlates of depression and perception gap of adolescents' Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQOL) between Parents and Children. Methods: Research targets are all students and their parents who are enrolled in from 1st~3rd grade of middle school to $1^{st}$ grade of high school which was selected intentionally. The survey was conducted from May $16^{th}$ to June $9^{th}$ in 2014 by research staffs equipped with structured questionnaire. $PedsQL^{TM}4.0$ Generic Core Scales and Korean form of the Kovacs' Children's Depression Inventory were the main tool for measuring the HRQOL and depression. Data of 985 respondents, both of parents and children, was used for analysis of this study. Results: In terms of gender difference of depression, 5.8% of adolescents, 3.2% of male and 8.5% of female (p<0.001), are shown depression symptom. Depression rate of the low level students of academic achievement was 11.0% which is the lowest rate to compare to 4.3% of middle level and 2.6% of high level students (p<0.001). The case that parents overestimated their children's overall HRQOL is 3.699 times more likely to have depression symptom than the case which is in concurrence between parents and children. Especially the overestimation in social, emotional, and academic area of HRQOL promote depression 3.918 times, 3.371 times, and 2.258 times more than the agreement occurred of each areas. In contrast underestimation in physical area of HRQOL reduce depression 0.266 times less than the agreement occurred of the area. Conclusion: The perception gap of adolescents' HRQOL between parents and children is the most influential factor to adolescents' depression among all variables which was evaluated in this study.

공압제어회로 설계 및 제작을 통한 캡스톤 디자인 학습 성취도 향상 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Capstone Design Learning Achievement through the Design and Fabrication of Pneumatic Control Circuit)

  • 공압제어회로는 4차 산업혁명 시대에 공장 자동화를 구성하는 중요한 기본 요소이며 대학 수준에서 공압제어회로를 설계하고 제작하는 능력을 기르는 것은 매우 중요한 교육과정 중의 하나이다. 본 연구에서는 공압제어회로의 설계 및 제작 과목에 캡스톤 디자인 방법을 적용하기 위해 모둠별 협동학습을 도입하였다. 또한, 학생들의 학습 성취도를 살펴봄으로써 향후 이 결과를 바탕으로 실천공학 교육의 혁신에 기여 하고자 하였다. 공압제어회로 설계 및 제작에서 실험집단에는 모둠별 협동학습을 적용하고 비교집단은 전통적 강의법을 적용하여 해석 능력의 차이를 검정하였다. 모둠별 협동학습을 수행한 실험집단이 전통적인 강의로만 진행된 비교집단보다 학업 능력이 높게 나타났고 유의수준 p<0.05의 t-검정 결과에서도 두 집단간에 유의미한 차이가 있음을 확인하였다. 실험집단에는 13개의 설문조사 문항을 4개의 모둠별로 응답하게 하고 그 결과를 분석하였는데, 전체 평균 4.731의 높은 만족도를 나타내었다. 본 연구를 통하여 공압제어회로의 설계 및 제작 교과목은 통상적인 과목으로 운영할 때 보다 캡스톤 디자인 기법을 적용했을 때 학생들의 학습 성취도 향상에 매우 효과적이라는 결론을 얻었으며 향후 캡스톤 디자인의 교육과정 개발에 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • The benefits of an e-learning system will not be maximized unless learners use the system. This study proposed and tested models that seek to explain students' satisfaction withe-learning systems. A survey was performed at a women's college in Korea, where students experimentally could choose to register one same course either through e-learning or class-room learning. The questionnaire was filled up by students who took e-learning option. independent variables include expected benefits, familiarity with technology, social influence, and accessibility. Dependent variables include the level of satisfaction, academic achievement, and the amount of the use of systems.
