  • Organic binders are usually pre-mixed with ceramic powders to enhance the formability during the shape forming process. These binders, however, must be eliminated before sintering in order to avoid pore formation and unusual grain growth during sintering. The present work was performed to investigate the effects of residual binder on grain growth behavior during sintering of $Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-PbTiO_3$ piezoelectric ceramics. The microstructures of sintered samples were examined for various thermal processes and atmosphere at debinding. Addition of binder seems to promote abnormal grain growth especially in incompletely debinded regions and to make the grain shape change from corner-rounded to faceted.

  • Changes in elimination behavior, including urination and defecation, are common clinical signs of numerous disorders in cats. Therefore, this study attempted to automatically measure the elimination behavior of cats using the litter box and develop an early warning system for the guardian in case of abnormalities. To construct an early warning system for abnormal changes through cat elimination behavior, it consisted of a litter box, an automatic sensor for data collection and data wifi transmission, a server for data analysis, and a mobile phone app for result transmission and early warning. To establish the reference interval (RI), the elimination behavior was monitored for more than 2 weeks using a motion sensor within a litter box in 37 healthy cats and 19 diseased cats. The data were expressed as daily total visits, daily total stay duration, average stay duration per elimination, weekly total visits, and weekly total stay duration. Healthy cats showed median daily total visits of 3 times/day (RI 1.0-7.0) and daily total stay duration of 192 s/day (RI 8.0-452.0). For weekly data, the median total visits were 20 times/week (RI 3.0-35.25) and the median total stay duration was 1,147 s/week (RI 80.0-2,249.5). The average stay duration per elimination was 59 s/elimination (RI 4.67-132.0). Diseased cats showed more frequent elimination behavior than healthy cats (p < 0.001). Otherwise, for each elimination, diseased cats had shorter stay durations than healthy cats (p < 0.001). This study established the RIs of elimination behavior parameters (frequency and duration) in healthy cats. The present study might help guardians and veterinarians detect changes in elimination behaviors in diseased cats at an early stage.

  • In this paper, we propose a prototype system for abnormal sound detection and identification which detects and recognizes the abnormal situations by means of analyzing audio information coming in real time from CCTV cameras under surveillance environment. The proposed system is composed of two layers: The first layer is an one-class support vector machine, i.e., support vector data description (SVDD) that performs rapid detection of abnormal situations and alerts to the manager. The second layer classifies the detected abnormal sound into predefined class such as 'gun', 'scream', 'siren', 'crash', 'bomb' via a sparse representation classifier (SRC) to cope with emergency situations. The proposed system is designed in a hierarchical manner via a mixture of SVDD and SRC, which has desired characteristics as follows: 1) By fast detecting abnormal sound using SVDD trained with only normal sound, it does not perform the unnecessary classification for normal sound. 2) It ensures a reliable system performance via a SRC that has been successfully applied in the field of face recognition. 3) With the intrinsic incremental learning capability of SRC, it can actively adapt itself to the change of a sound database. The experimental results with the qualitative analysis illustrate the efficiency of the proposed method.

  • In recent years, personal information leakage and technology leakage accidents are frequently occurring. According to the survey, the most important part of this spill is the 'insider' within the organization, and the leakage of technology by insiders is considered to be an increasingly important issue because it causes huge damage to the organization. In this paper, we try to learn the normal behavior of employees using machine learning to prevent insider threats, and to investigate how to detect abnormal behavior. Experiments on the detection of abnormal behavior by implementing an Autoencoder composed of Recurrent Neural Network suitable for learning time series data among the neural network models were conducted and the validity of this method was verified.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between of weight control attempts with concern about weight control. nutrition knowledge, eating behavior and nutrients Intake among high school girls in Seoul, Korea. A self-administered questionnaire was distributed to 355 subjects. The subjects were then divided into two groups, one with experience in attempting to control their weight, and one with no experience in attempting to control their weight. The mean averages of height, weight. obesity index (OI) and BMI of the subjects were 161.1cm, 53.1kg, -5.2% and 20.4, respectively. 49% of the subjects were experienced in attempting weight control. The majority of the group that had experience in weight control expressed dissatisfaction of with their self body image (66.7%), and was concerned about weight control (94.9%). This group also had more abnormal eating habits than the group that had no experience in weight control attempts, such as missing meals, eating irregularly, not eating a variety of foods and snacking. The mean averages of perceived knowledge (PK) and correct knowledge (CK) regarding nutrition on a 30 point scale were 23.6 (78.7% of total score) and 15.8 (52.7%), respectively. There were no significant differences of the PK's and the CK's between the two groups. Nutrients intakes of the two groups were not significantly different and the mean nutrient intakes revealed adequate consumption of energy. protein, Fe, Ca. thiamin. riboflavin, niacin, vitamin A and C. The higher the dissatisfaction of their self body image, PK score. and abnormal eating habits, the higher the level of concerns about of being overweight.

  • Exsolution intergrowth of ilmenite and hematite was studied by the Rietveld refinement method. According to the analysis on these two structural analog minerals, it was found that octahedron (M2) of Ti in ilmenite is in the least deformation, then that (M1) of Fe in ilmenite is deformed next, and octaheron deformation of Fe in hematite is between M1 and M2. High pressure compression experiment was performed up to 5.8 GPa, where two minerals' XRD peaks merged completely. Ilmenite shows normal compression behavior, whereas hematite shrinks in very small amount. This kind of abnormal behavior might be due to the differential response to the applied pressure corresponding to the different compressibilities of the minerals each other.

  • The number of one person households has grown steadily over the recent past and the population of lonely and unnoticed death are also observed. The phenomenon of one person households has been occurred. In the dark side of society, the remarkable number of lonely and unnoticed death are reported among different age-groups. We propose an unusual event detection method which may give a remarkable solution to reduce the number of the death rete for people dying alone and remaining undiscovered for a long period of time. The unusual event detection method we suggested to identify abnormal user behavior in their lives using vision pattern, audio pattern, and dust pattern algorithms. Individually proposed pattern algorithms have disadvantages of not being able to detect when they leave the coverage area. We utilized a fusion method to improve the accuracy performance of each pattern algorithm and evaluated the technique with multiple user behavior patterns in indoor areas.

  • The purpose of this study was to review criticallu the current slates of researches in the area of consumer culture and to suggest several ways in which it can be improved. After analyzing 87 articles in major journals which have published during the 1980s, 1990s, the major findings are as follows: First, the articles in this field has increased sharply in latter half of 1990s. Second, the subjects of these researches can be divided into three. They are general consumption culture(including consumption value), abnormal consumer behavior(including overconsumption, addictive buying and conspicuous consumption) and pro-environmental consumer behavior. Third, the adolescents is most frequently researched. Fourth, same as other areas the major methodology is positivistic one which focuses the survey analysis to investigate the relationships of many variables. Implications are also discussed with respect to future research.

  • Non-mass analyzed ion shower doping (ISD) technique with a bucket-type ion source or mass-analyzed ion implantation with a ribbon beam-type has been used for source/drain doping, for LDD (lightly-doped-drain) formation, and for channel doping in fabrication of low-temperature poly-Si thin-film transistors (LTPS-TFT's). We reported an abnormal activation behavior in boron doped poly-Si where reverse annealing, the loss of electrically active boron concentration, was found in the temperature ranges between $400^{\circ}C$ and $650^{\circ}C$ using isochronal furnace annealing. We also reported reverse annealing behavior of sequential lateral solidification (SLS) poly-Si using isothermal rapid thermal annealing (RTA). We report here the importance of implantation conditions on the dopant activation. Through-doping conditions with higher energies and doses were intentionally chosen to understand reverse annealing behavior. We observed that the implantation condition plays a critical role on dopant activation. We found a certain implantation condition with which the sheet resistance is not changed at all upon activation annealing.

  • This study simulated a control rod assembly (CRA), which is a part of reactor shutdown systems, in immersed and fluid flow conditions. The CRA was inserted into the reactor core within a predetermined time limit under normal and abnormal operating conditions, and the CRA (which consists of complex geometric shapes) drop behavior is numerically modeled for simulation. A full-scale prototype CRA drop test is established under room temperature and water-fluid conditions for verification and validation. This paper describes the details of the numerical modeling and analysis results of the several conditions. Results from the developed numerical simulation code are compared with the test results to verify the numerical model and developed computer code. The developed code is in very good agreement with the test results and this numerical analysis model and method may replace the experimental and CFD method to predict the drop behavior of CRA.
