PURPOSES : In this study, various laboratory tests were performed to investigate basic physical properties of the asphalt concrete which uses wasted vinyl aggregates. METHODS : The thermal conductivity, ultrasonic velocity, Marshall stability, flow, indirect tensile strength were measured according to binder content and wasted vinyl aggregate content. An experimental construction was performed to verify construct ability of the asphalt pavement using the wasted vinyl aggregates. RESULTS : The thermal conductivity and ultrasonic velocity decreased showing insulation effect by mixing more wasted vinyl aggregate, whereas stability and flow increased. The void ratio shows similar value regardless of the mixing ratio. The highest indirect tensile strength was measured at 2.5% of wasted vinyl aggregate content. The construct ability was verified by observing the process of mixing, placing, and compaction and the state of the pavement surface. CONCLUSIONS : The basic properties and construct ability of the asphalt concrete using the wasted vinyl aggregates were verified. The temperature according to pavement depth will be measured to verify the insulation effect of the wasted vinyl aggregates. In addition, amount of snowfall, snowmelt area, and ice adhesion strength will be analyzed quantitively.

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether using English newspapers as supplementary teaching materials for the present textbook could increase students' English reading ability, interest in class and their willingness to take an active part in activities. Schools in rural areas, compared to urban schools, did not have the appropriate resources to teach students effectively. Understanding the disadvantages of the students in rural areas, one idea was to use newspapers to inspire the students to reach outside their local community and incorporate new styles of English and cultural aspects into their lives. The participants were 2nd grade high school students in the rural area. The experimental group received reading lessons with the textbook and English newspapers. They were also encouraged to make their own portfolios. The control group received reading lessons with the textbook and other supplementary materials. Before and after the experiment, reading comprehension tests as well as the questionnaires of interest and self-directed learning were administered. The results of this study were as follows: First, students' English reading ability was significantly improved in the experimental class using English newspapers. Second, students' interest and self-directed learning were positively increased in the same class above.

Porous clay ceramics was fabricated using the surfactant as a foaming agent in the secondary-clay produced at Young-Am area in Chun-Nam province. The concentration of surfactant in ceramic slurry was the key factor controlling the pore characteristics and physical properties of the porous ceramics. The more increase of the surfactant concentration increase the more foaming ability and the stability of foamed layer were improved, but the foaming ability was limited within 6.0 wt% of surfactant because the initial viscosity of the slurry increased with increasing the amounts of surfactant. The formed specimen were sintered at both $1150^{\circ}C$ and $1200^{\circ}C$, the porous ceramics showed 0.9 of specific gravity, 50% of water absorption, 45% of apparent porosity, 14% of shrinkage and 70 kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ of compressive strength.
Purpose: This study examined the effects of the type of video contents used for action observations on the ability to control posture. Methods: The participants were 48 healthy adults. The two hands of the participants were crossed on both shoulders, and the other foot was placed in a straight line in front of the target to allow them to watch a video of the monitor. The videos were presented in random order with three video contents (natural, stable balance posture, and unstable balance posture) consisting of 30 seconds each. A 15-second resting time was given between each video. During action observation using various video content forms, the posture control ability was measured using a TekScan MetScan® system. Results: The results revealed statistically significant differences in the area of movement and the distance by COP and distance by the type of action-observation videos, and the distance by the anteroposterior and mediolateral sides (p<0.05). The stable balance posture and unstable balance posture video showed significant differences in the distance by the COP, anteroposterior, and mediolateral distance. (p<0.05) Conclusion: This study suggests that choosing the contents of the videos is important during action-observation training, and action-observation training can help improve postural control.
Purpose: In this study, based on the error augmentation, we performed walking training with increased rhythmic auditory stimulation speed on the affected side (IRAS) and walking training with decreased rhythmic auditory stimulation speed on the unaffected side (DRAS). The purpose of this study was to verify whether motor learning was effective in improving balance ability. Methods: Twenty-eight subjects with chronic stroke were recruited from a rehabilitation center. The subjects were divided into three groups: an IRAS group (10 subjects), a DRAS group (9 subjects), and control group (9 subjects). They received 30minutes of neuro-developmental therapy and walking training for 30minutes, five times a week for three weeks. Static and functional balance ability were measured before and after the training period. Static balance was measured by balancia software. Functional balance was measured by the timed up and go test (TUG) and the berg balance scale (BBS). Results: After the training periods, the IRAS group showed a significant improvement in TUG, BBS, area 95% COP, and weight distribution on the affected side when compared to both the DRAS group and control group (p<0.05). Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, it is possible to consider error augmentation methods of motor learning if rhythmic auditory stimulation is applied to stroke patients in clinical practice. If the affected side is shorter than the unaffected side, the affected side should be adjusted to the increased rhythmic auditory stimulation speed, which is considered to be an effective intervention to improve balance ability.
This study aims to characterize the sensibility image and interaction effect of striped necktie according to same-tone coordination and 1:2:3 area-ratio variation on the gender. The experimental materials developed for this study are a set of stimuli and response scales. The stimuli consist of 56 color pictures manipulated with every combination of 4 different colors, 2 different tones and 7 different area-ratio. The 7-point scale designed for visual evaluation of sensibility image included 26 bipolar adjectives. The subjects were 1344 undergraduate students in Gyeongnam, Seoul, Busan, and Daegu areas. The results of this study were as follows. The analyses of sensibility images in terms of same-tone coordination and 1:2:3 area-ratio variation of stripe necktie reveal that the concerned factors are of five characteristic dimensions of attractiveness, youth-activity, appeal, ability, and warmness. In the 5 factors of sensibility image, color combination and tone showed independent effect. In addition, significant interaction effects of area-ratio and tone on appeal and ability were found. Interaction effects of gender and area-ratio on youth-activity were found. Interaction effects of gender and tone on warmness were found. Interaction effects of color combination and tone on appeal and warmness were found. The study results are highly expected to be used as useful sources in developing men's coordination.
This study was aimed for evaluating the validity of relative-productivity index on the basis of working hour(RPHW index) designed by author as new productivity index and drawing up a plan of bettering productivity to cope with financial difficulty of dental laboratories. Fortyeight dental laboratories extracted by cluster-sampling method form all the dental laboratories in Seoul were subjected for this study. And in each of them, the term of establishment which was divied into three group as short-term, mid-term and long-term group, the scale of dental laboratory which as divided into two group by number of dental technician as small-scale group and large-scale group, the salary system which was composed of salary criteria, pay according to ablility criteria and collectiveagree, the salary level, simple labor productivity index(SLP index), relative-productivity index on the basis of worker number(ROWN) and relative-productivity index on the basis of working hour(RPWH index) were surveyed through the self-administractive questionaires. The results as follows : Most of dental laboratories(93.6%) were managed by non-professional managers. The establishment rate per year of dental laboratory was the increase. The mean number of employees of dental laboratories was $7.00{\pm}3.90$ person. The ratio of smallscale group(under the 5 employees) was 42.6% and as the term of establishment was shorter, the ratio of small-scale group was higher. The mean establishment area of dental laboratories was $24.49{\pm}10.97$ unit and the mean establishment area per head of dental laboratories was $4.05{\pm}3.90$ unit. The estabilshment area and area per head were not significantly associted with the term of establishment, but as the term of establishment was shorter, the estabkishment area per head was slightly wider. The establishment area per head in small-scale group was significantly wider than large-scale group(over the 6 emplayees) The salary criteria(54.4%), pay according to ability(79.2)m ability criteria(77.1%) and collectiveagree(79.2%) as salary systems were used in the most of all dnetal laboratoies. The all salary systems were not significantly associated with the term of establishment and the scale of dental laboratories. The monthly mean salary level of dental laboratoies was $125.64{\pm}31.06$ milion won. The monthly salary level was not significantly associated with the term of establishment and the scale of dental laboratores. But the monthly salary level in the short-term group and the small-scale group were slightly lower than others. The SLP index, the RPWN index and the RPWH index of dental laboratories were $132.16{\pm}48.41$, $382.41{\pm}128.76$ and $76.06{\pm}25.11$, respectively. The SLP, the RPWN and the RPWH of dental laboratories were not significantly associated with the term SLP, the RPWN and the RPWH of dental laboratories were significantly associated with the area of dental laboratory and the salary level. Except for only the association salary criteria among salary system with RPWH of dental laboratories, all other salary system were not associated with the SLP, the RPWN and the RPWH of dental laboratories.
It has been known that shallow-water regions, such as tidal flats, sea grass and sea weed beds have water purification capability, and they also serve as nursery grounds for many fishes. On the other hand, tidal flat areas are economically attractive sites for reclamation, to be used for developing industries. When developing shallow-water areas, we have to propose a plan to mitigate the environmental impact associated with such a development plan. However, it is difficult to estimate the affects on the ecosystem and water purification, and the literature related to this matter is insufficient. In order to evaluate the ability of coastal tidal flat and to predict the future changes, it is necessary to develop a reliable prediction technique and construction of data by using a field investigation. In this study, we carried out a numerical model test for the tidal flat ecosystem, using the pelagic system and the benthic system, simultaneously, in order to show a change in the tidal flat ecosystem. The flow of nitrogen, phosphorus and carbon has been identified as a primary consideration of marine ecosystem components, and the capability of water purification and the change of the tidal flat were predicted using this flow. In order to make a more reliable prediction, a field investigation to determine tide, current and creatures of the object coastal area has been done. The purification capability of this shallow-water region is estimated from the model results. According to the results of experiments, the tidal flat has a capability of water purification (Sink) of 11mgN/m2/day, but the other area has a load (Source) of 20mgN/m2/day. As a result, we could confirm that the tidal flat of an object coastal area plays an important role in water purification.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of body weight support treadmill training (BWSTT) and parallel bar gait training(P-bar) on gait and balance ability of subacute stroke patients. The subjects were consisted of 27 patients with subacute stroke, and they were randomly devided into two groups which were BWSTT group and P-bar group. Method : The timed up and go(TUG), 10m gait speed were used to measure gait speed, Bergs balance scale(BBS) was used to measure dynamic balance ability, and balance performance monitor(BPM) was used to measure sway area, sway path, max velocity. Result : 1. The TUG and 10m gait speed of BWSTT group and P-bar group were significantly decreased (p<.05). The TUG and 10m gait speed were different significantly between BWSTT group and P-bar group(p<.05). 2. The BBS and sway area of BWSTT group and P-bar group were significantly decreased (p<.05). The BBS and sway area were not different significantly between BWSTT group and P-bar group(p>.05). 3. The sway path and max velocity of BWSTT group and P-bar group were significantly decreased (p<.05). The sway path and max velocity were not different significantly between BWSTI group and P-bar group(p>.05). Conclusion : The outcomes suggest that patient with subacute stroke can improve their gait and balance through body weight support treadmill training.

The aim of this study was directed at exploring the possible use of muscle fiber characteristics as new selection traits for improving both porcine lean meat production and quality. A total of 174 (114 Yorkshire, 30 Landrace, and 30 Meishan) pigs were used for this study, and lean meat production ability was estimated by backfat thickness and loin eye area. The Longissimus dorsi muscle was taken in order to measure meat quality and muscle fiber characteristics. Due to the high correlations between total muscle fiber number and most of the performance traits, all pigs were classified into three groups (low, intermediate, or high) by total muscle fiber number using cluster analysis. The high group had the highest loin eye area (p<0.001). The meat quality traits were within normal ranges as reddish pink, firm, and nonexudative (RFN) pork, but the groups classified as intermediate and high had relatively large drip loss percentages (p<0.05), produced more than twice the amount of pale, soft, and exudative (PSE) pork as compared to the low group. The group with a high total muscle fiber number was further classified, based on type 2b fiber percentage, into low or high groups by cluster analysis. The results showed that the low type 2b fiber group had good loin eye area (p<0.05), small drip loss (p<0.05), and did not produce PSE pork. For these reasons, a high total muscle fiber number, with a low percentage of type 2b fibers, may be suitable in selecting for improvements in both lean meat production and meat quality.
