형상 파라미터화 방법을 이용한 엔진 마운트용 고무의 형상 최적화 (Optimum Shape Design of Engine Mounting Rubber Using a Parametric Approach)

  • The procedure to design the engine mount is briefly discussed and the optimum shape design process of engine mounting rubber using a parametric approach is suggested. An optimization code is developed to determine the shape to meet the stiffness requirements of engine mounts, coupled with the commercial nonlinear finite element program ABAQUS. A bush type engine mount used in a current passenger car is chosen for an application model. The shape from the result of the parameter optimization is determined as a final model with some modifications. The shape and stiffness of each optimization stage are shown and the stiffness of the optimized model along the principal direction is compared with the design specification of the current model. Finally, an overview of the current status and future works for the engine mount design are discussed.

  • The homotopy perturbation method (HPM) to predict the pre- and post-buckling behaviour of simply supported steel beams with rectangular hollow section (RHS) is presented in this paper. The non-linear differential equations solved by HPM derive from a kinematics where large twist and cross-sections distortions are considered. The results (linear and non-linear paths) given by the present HPM are compared to those provided by the Newton-Raphson algorithm with arc length and by the commercial FEM code Abaqus. To investigate the effect of cross-sectional distortion of beams, some numerical examples are presented.

라운드 리클라이너 개발을 위한 정적 강도 해석 및 안전성 평가 (Static Strength Analysis and Safety Evaluation for Developing a Round Recliner)

  • Seat is one of the most important part of an automobile for passenger's safety especially when an accident happens. A recliner is a part of the seat assembly, having the function of adjusting the back-plate angle of a seat. Recently, many kinds of vehicles have adopted the round recliner module rather than the conventional types of recliners because of its broad compatibility and structural simplicity. In this study a two-dimensional finite element strength analysis has been performed using a commercial code ABAQUS/Standard for the purpose of developing a new round recliner model. The loading condition for the analysis is the same as the FMVSS 301 regulation. The finite element result for the round recliner has been compared with that for the conventional type.

  • Steel-concrete composite columns are used extensively in modern buildings. Extensive research on composite columns in which structural steel are in concrete have been carried out. In-filled composite columns, however have received limited attention compared to encased columns. In this paper, interrelationship of parameters is examined into analyzing and comparing with data through ABAQUS program and experiment on concrete filled tubular column under axial load and propriety of model is checked out by FEM analysis. The main variations of this paper are width-thickness ratio of the section(B/t =33.3, 38.9, 44.4), concrete strength($f_{ck}$=240, 360kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$), and width-length ratio($L_o$/B=8.0, 10.0, 12.0, 15.0, 20.0). The ultimate value obtained through analysis is compared with test value and calculated by design code of other countries and previous studies.

  • This research aims to establish an optimal design method of filament wound structures. So far, most design and manufacturing of filament wound structures have been based on manufacturing experiences, and there is no established design rule. In this research, possible winding patterns considering the windability and the slippage between fiber and mandrel surface were calculated using the semi-geodesic path algorithm. In addition, finite element analyses using a commercial code, ABAQUS, were performed to predict the behavior of filament wound structures. On the basis of the semi-geodesic path algorithm and the finite element analysis method, filament wound structures were designed using the genetic algorithm.

  • The main object of this study is to develop a reliable FEM simulation technique for the analysis of Steel D&I Can bodymaking process using ABAQUS software. The body making process includes drawing, redrawing, 3 step ironing, doming. The newly developed FEM code in this research is based on the previous research achievement of POSCO for the drawing, redrawing and ironing process. The analysis is performed using two dimensional axisymmetric elements to analyze the punch force, the height of can, the distribution of residual stress and strain. The effect of blank thickness, gap of ironing die is also analyzed.

  • In this study, non-linear dynamic FE analysis of a tracked vehicle under the traveling load is performed by FE code ABAQUS. The stability of vehicle is examined using the structure analysis for the road wheel. The dynamic analysis is performed by traveling load. The traveling load include the 6 step loading spectrum about road wheel. The stress level around road wheel are 30 MPa ${\sim}$ 40 MPa. These value are indicated under modified fatigue strength 50.3 MPa. It takes about 3 second to be stable the structure after traveling load.

  • In the present paper, finite element analyses were carried out to evaluate the most important feature of a stent, that is. high radial strength and flexibility. Palmaz-Schatz 154 stent and two new models(stent A, stent B) were selected because they are the most representatives of tubular stents. Finite element analyses for the stent system were performed using ABAQUS/Explicit code. As a result, Palmaz-Schatz 154 stent shows sufficient radial strength but it needs some improvement in general properties such as high flexibility, low elastic recoil, low longitudinal contraction and low metal coverage area. Other two models show that sufficient flexibility, foreshortening and longitudinal recoil.

  • The work presented here focuses on the development of suitable discretised formulations, for large-displacement shape and non-shape design sensitivity analysis (DSA), which enable the straightforward incorporation of structural optimisation into established finite element analysis (FEA) codes. For the generalised displacement-based functional the design sensitivity vector has been expressed in terms of displacement sensitivity. The Total Lagrangian formulation is utilised for modelling of large deformation of truss structures. The variational formulation of the sensitivity analysis procedure is discretised by using "pseudo" - finite elements, Results are presented for the sensitivity analysis and optimisation of standard truss structures. For the purposes of this work, the analysis and optimisation procedures outlined below are incorporated into the FEA code ABAQUS.

  • Numerical analysis on laminated plates containing an open hole subjected to compression is conducted to predict the damage constitutive behaviour of the plates. A micromechanical constitutive model for unidirectional laminated composites proposed by Liang et a1. (2006), in conjunction with damage models (Karihaloo and Fu, 1989, 1999; Zhao and Weng, 1996, 1997), is implemented into the finite element code ABAQUS to conduct the numerical analysis. The predictions are compared with experiments (Lessard and Chang, 1991) to verify the accuracy of the present analysis.
