New Analysis on Reception of M-ary FSK Signals over Rician Fading Channels

  • In this paper, we analyze the distribution of the envelope of the received signal over frequency-nonselective slow Rician fading channels with aadditive white Gaussian noise(AWGN). Especially, we can obtain the error rate performance of noncoherent M-ary FSK(MFSK) over slow and flat Rician fading channels and AWGN from the new probability density function(PDF) of the envelope, not PDF of the instantaneous signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) published before, of the received signal. When coherent MFSK signals experience the Rician fading channel, the performances are derived, using the union bound.

  • In this paper, an adaptive interference excision scheme with multiple adaptive filter bank using an adaptive algorithm is proposed. This scheme suppresses interference in the wavelet packet transform domain for the direct spread spectrum communication systems. Using the Monte-Carlo simulation, we analyze the performance of the direct spread spectrum communication systems with this excision scheme using LMS and RLS adaptive algorithms in AWGN and interference channel.

  • In this paper, we analyzed standard and characteristic of portable microwave digital FPU(Field Pick Up) transmission system in AWGN channel environment as basis step of research about share way of M/W broadcasting relay frequency. And we analyzed system performance through simulator design. Domestic case, digitize progress about broadcasting relay is propeled. Therefore, we wish to utilize to basis data about interference evaluation and domestic broadcasting relay standardization for reassignment of M/W band broadcasting relay frequency.

  • 본 논문에서는 소스코딩에 활용되고 있는 LDPCA 부호를 가변 부호율을 얻는 채널코딩 목적으로써의 사용 가능성을 타진한다. 컴퓨터 성능 실험의 결과로 가변 부호율과 어느 정도의 BER 성능을 확인하였지만, 체크노드 머징기법이 여타의 LDPC 부호에 비해 성능을 크게 떨어뜨리는 것으로 나타났다. 향후 체크노드 머징이 가능하면서도 좀 더 개선된 성능을 가지는 LDPCA 를 설계하는 일이 중요할 것으로 생각된다.

  • TCM(Trellis-Coded Modulation)은 대역폭과 전력이 제한된 채널환경에서 채널부호화 기술과 변조기술을 결합시켜 대역폭의 증가없이 에러정정능력을 개선시키는 통신 기술이다. 본 논문에서는 TCM 신호의 복호시 사용되는 Viterbi decoder에서 traceback depth의 감소에 따른 BER(Bit Error Rate)의 증가를 개선하기 위해 수신부에서 설정하는 traceback depth를 주기로 blocking하여 TCM encoder의 입력시퀀스에 zero padding bits를 추가시키는 새로운 알고리듬을 제안한다. 모의실험결과, traceback depth가 50인 hard decision의 경우 약 2~2.5dB, 4-level soft decision과 8-level soft decision의 경우 약 0.3~2dB의 coding gain을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • This paper presents the analysis of the effect which DC offsets produced in the direct-conversion receiver system under the AWGN circumstance exercise on the system performance. Then, as a method which improve the system performance by removing the DC offsets, we proposed the plan which can copes with the time variant DC offsets occurrences according to taking accumulation and average through the loop signals which DC offsets are produced.

  • In this paper, we propose the symbol decision method considering the non-uniformity in color space and analyze the BER performance of modulation scheme based on color space, comparing with the conventional WDM scheme based on light intensity. Through numerical simulation, we show the BER performance superiority under the condition of AWGN and common mode noise.

  • Wavelet transformed data can filter signal with each frequency band, because it includes detail information about original signal. Therefore, in this paper, important two noises were removed by wavelet. About AWGN environment UDWT(undecimated discrete wavelet transform), applying hard-threshold, was used and about impulse noise environment, it can be possible to recognize edge of original signal as well as superior denoising effect by using two methods, denoising by threshold and slope of signal by wavelet. SNR was used as a judgemental criterion of a denoising effect and Blocks and DTMF(dual tone multi frequency) were used as a test signal.

  • In this paper, an $tan^{-1}$ circuit for the frequency synchronization of OFDM based IEEE 802.11a is presented. The proposed circuit consists of a divider, an $tan^{-1}$ ROM and a phase detector, which can detect frequency offset within 0.0491 rad. The circuit implemented with FPGA shows a pull-in range of under ${\pm}625KHz$ at 5dB AWGN. It may be useful for IEEE 802.11a WLAN standard.

  • In this paper, we shows the simulation result of estimation algorithm for aircraft track which is core engine in MLAT system. The simulation result for 3D position estimation by Chan algorithm based on TDOA and Kalman filter shows that the performance satisfies the requirements of EUROCAE ED-117 over AWGN channel.
