  • This paper presents comparison of 18000-3 ASK and PJM mode RFID in terms of reading speed. This is accomplished by counting the occurrences of a few representative blocks which constitute the reader / tag interactions for each mode. To apply FS (frame slotted)-aloha protocol, four Q-algorithms, which are a Q-algorithm suggested in the standard document, a fixed Q-algorithm, a minimum Q-algorithm and the number of tag dependent Q-algorithm, are used. Through some simulations, we present the reading speed of each mode with respect to the Q-algorithm and the comparison of the reading speed between the two modes for each Q-algorithms.

  • This paper presents the theoretical tag-reading speed in the ASK and the PJM mode of a 13.56MHz RFID system which have been adopted in the international standard ISO 18000-3, along with simulation results to support the mathematical analysis. Through the analysis using the number of tag-dependent Q-algorithm, which was known to give relatively fast reading speed, we not only derive the number of slots to read out given tags, but compare the reading speeds of the ASK with that of the PJM mode. Moreover, we present the numerical comparison of two modes which bring the equivalent results as in the theoretical one.

  • This paper describes a low-power CMOS analog front-end block for UHF band RFID tag chips. It satisfies ISO/IEC 18000-6C and includes a memory block for test. For reducing power consumption, it operates with an internally generated power supply of 1V. An ASK demodulator using a current-mode schmitt trigger is proposed and designed. The proposed demodulator can more exactly demodulate than conventional demodulator with low current consumption. It is designed using a $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS technology. Measurement results show that it can operate properly with an input as low as $0.25V_{peak}$ and consumes $2.63{\mu}A$. The chip size is $0.12mm^2$.

  • This paper describes a low-power high-performance analog front-end block for $UHF(860{\sim}960MHz)$ band RFID tag chips. It satisfies ISO/IEC 18000-6 type C(EPCgolbal class1. generation2.) and includes a memory block for test. For reducing power consumption, it operates with a internally generated power supply of 1V. An ASK demodulator using a current-mode schmitt trigger is proposed and designed. The proposed demodulator has an error rate as low as 0.014%. It is designed using a 0.18um CMOS technology. The simulation results show that the designed circuit can operate properly with an input as low as $0.2V_{peak}$ and consumes $2.63{\mu}A$. The chip size is $0.12mm^2$

  • In recent year, especially in the mode choice analysis, it has been perceived that the importance of individual performance data using stated preference(SP) experiments as well as revealed preference data . Since SP experiments present respondent with various hypothetical alternatives, which are produced by a combination of a number of different attribute levels, and ask them to indicate a preference, it is possible to analyze travel behavior under a situation of potential environment change such as proposed alternative mode of transportation. The basic problems, however, remains that SP are not consistent with the actual travel behaviors and the research reports for stability of mode choice model using SP data has not been sufficient. Under this background, this study is to examine the characteristics of mode choice model using the SP data by the following items. $\circled1$ Analysis of factors affecting the mode choice behavior by the variance analysis of orthogonal-arrays-table $\circled2$ The reliability of SP data by transfer intention data $\circled3$ The stability of SP responses obtained from repetitive question by the comparison of model coefficient specified by each repetitive data. $\circled4$ The stability of ranking data in mode choice model For the analysis, we assumed subway operations in the Gwang-Ju , and set up a choice-set of hypothetical options based on Experimental Design Method.

  • In this paper, we develope a LOB(Limit Order Book) analyzing tool for an automated trading system, which features real-time and offline analysis of LOB data in conjunction with execution data. The 10-tier LOB data analyzer developed in this paper, which contains ask/bid prices and the execution data, receivs transaction requests in real-time from the Kiwoom Open API+ server. In the OnReceiveTrData event, the transaction data from the server is received and processed. The real-time data, triggered by the transaction, is received and processed in the OnReceiveRealData event. These two types of data are stored in a database and replayed in the same way as if it were a real-time situation in simulation mode. The LOB data are selectively read and analyzed in a necessary time points. The tool provides various features such as bar chart analysis and pattern analysis of the total shares on the bid side and ask side, which are used to develop a tool to accurately determine the timing of stock trading.

  • In this study, beat control method using an equivalent ring model is proposed to control beat period of a slightly asymmetric ring. Slight asymmetry in a ring generates mode pair and the interaction of the mode pair makes beat in vibration and sound. In a ring, as a simplified bell type structure, mode data are measured and an equivalent ring is determined so that the measured mode condition is satisfied. By the finite element analysis on the equivalent ring, changes of mode pair condition are predicted when local mass is attached or the local thickness is decreased. The predicted results are compared with the experimental result and the validity of the proposed method is verified.

  • This paper presents the feasibilityof a thickness mode piezoelectric oscillator to detect damages in structures. The thickness mode oscillator sensor is composed of an electronic feedback oscillator circuit and a piezoelectric thickness mode vibrator to be attached to a structure of interest. Damage to the structure causes a change in the impedance spectrum of the structure, which results in a corresponding change of a resonant frequency of the structure. The oscillator sensor can instantly detect the frequency change in a very simple manner. Feasibility of the piezoelectric oscillator sensor was verified with a sample aluminum plate where artificial cracks of different lengths and number were imposed in sequence. Validity of the measurement was confirmed through comparison of the experimental data with the results of finite element analyses of a plate with cracks.

  • In this paper, the frequencies sharing possibility between TA(TalkAround) Radios and RFID system in 900MHz frequency band have been studied. The modulation technic for FHSS(Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) of TA is digital FSK and RFID system adapts digital ASK modulation technic. The communication mode of the tested RFID system for frequencies sharing possibility was FHSS. The field test was performed by five scenarios. The RFID field testing system for the frequencies sharing possibility was composed of four tags and two main devices made in USA. Four TA and Egilant spectrum analyzer was used for testing. The frequencies sharing possibility by differentiated modulation was theoretically analyzed. As result of simulation, it was proved that the frequencies sharing between each other modulation system is possible. And also as result of field testing it was confirmed that the signal of TA Radios have no effect on the signal of RFID system.
