주의력결핍 과잉행동장애 아동에서 어머니의 대상관계가 양육태도와 아동의 자아존중감에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Mother's Object Relation on Mother's Rearing Attitude and Children's Self-Esteem in Children with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)

  • Objectives : This study examined maternal object relations, child's and mother's perception on rearing attitude, and children's self-esteem in children with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and their mothers. Methods : 64 children with ADHD and their mothers were included in the study group. In the control group, there were 85 children and their mothers. Mothers completed the following tests : Bell object relation inventory (BORI), maternal behavior research instrument (MBRI), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), and Korean ADHD Rating Scale (K-ARS). Children completed Children's Report of Parental Behavior Inventory (CRPBI) and Rosenberg self-esteem scale. Results : Mothers of ADHD children displayed more rejecting and controlling parenting style than mothers in the control group. ADHD children showed lower self-esteem and perceived their parents as not affectionate, but rejecting and controlling. Mothers with ADHD children who belonged to object relations pathological group showed more rejecting rearing attitude and their children believed that they were more controlling, compared with children and mothers in other conditions. Among factors in mother's object relations, insecure attachment and ego-centricity impacted the rearing attitude. In turn, affective rearing attitude mainly influenced children's self-esteem. Conclusion : This study suggests that the approach focused on mother's object relations may help with the treatment of children with ADHD.

Fruit Body Formation on Silkworm by Cordyceps militaris

  • Injection inoculation protocols for fruit body formation of Cordyceps militaris (C. militaris) were investigated to improve the incidence of infection in the silkworm species Bombyx mori (B. mori). Injection, with suspensions of C. militaris hyphal bodies into living silkworm pupae, was used to test for fruit body production. Use of Daeseungjam rather than Baegokjam or Keumokjam varieties of B. mori is thought to be suitable for infection by C. militaris. From mounting, nine-day-old to 11-day-old pupae showed the best incidence of infection with a $100\;{\mu}L$ injection volume. Silkworm pupae injected with a hyphal suspension concentration of more than $2\;{\times}\;10^5$ colony-forming unit (cfu) recorded a greater than 96% incidence of infection. Also, fruit bodies of C. militaris were induced and produced at a light intensity between 500 and 1,000 lx.

DNAv6 망에서 Non-DNAv6 호스트의 빠른 Attachment 방안 (A Novel Method of Fast Attachment for Non-DNAv6 Hosts in the DNAv6 Network)

  • DNAv6는 IPv6네트워크에서 보다 빠르게 호스트의 링크 연결을 지원하기 위한 프로토콜이며, 이동성 관리의 분류에서는 이동성 감지에 속하는 분야이다. 하지만 DNAv6에서는 DNAv6를 지원하는 AR과 호스트에 대한 논의만 진행되어있기 때문에 추후에 DNAv6와 non-DNAv6 호스트가 혼재된 네트워크에서 non-DNAv6 호스트를 지원할 수 없는 문제가 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 DNAv6 망에서 non-DNAv6 호스트를 지원하기 위하여 DNAv6AR이 제공하는 정보를 통해 링크 이동 여부를 판단하던 호스트를 대신하여 AR이 이에 대한 판단을 내려 호스트에 알려주는 RCA 알고리즘과 RCA 알고리즘을 적용하기 위한 Modified RS 메시지와 Reconf_Link를 메시지를 제안하였다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 기존의 ND 프로세스와 DNAv6 망에서의 핸드오프시 링크 연결 지연시간을 측정하여 RCA가 적용된 non-DANv6 호스트의 핸드오프시 링크 연결 지연시간과 비교하여 성능을 평가하였다.

Biochemical and Ultrastructural Trends in Proteolysis of the $\beta$-subunit of 7S Protein in the Cotyledons During Germination of Soybean Seeds

  • Antibodies raised against the purified p-subunit of $\beta$-conglycinin were used in immunohistochemical studies to monitor the pattern of $\beta$-conglycinin mobilization in the cotyledons during soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] seed germination. Western blot analysis revealed that the break down of the $\beta$-subunit of $\beta$-conglycinin commenced as early as 2 days after seed imbibition (DAI). Concurrent with the degradation of the $\beta$-subunit of $\beta$-conglycinin, accumulation of 48, 28, and 26 kD proteolytic intermediates was observed from 2 to 6 DAI. Western blot analysis also revealed that the acidic subunit of glycinin was mobilized earlier than the basic subunit. The basic glycinin subunit was subjected to proteolysis within 2 DAI resulting in the appearance of an intermediate product approximately 2 kD smaller than the native basic glycinin subunit. In contrast to the major seed storage proteins, lipoxygenase was subjected to limited proteolysis and was detected even after 8 DAI. The first sign of $\beta$-conglycinin breakdown was observed near the vascular strands and proceeded from the vascular strands towards the epidermis. Protein A-gold localization studies using thin sections of soybean cotyledons and antibodies raised against the $\beta$-subunit of $\beta$-conglycinin revealed intense labeling over protein bodies. A pronounced decrease in the protein A-gold labeling intensity over protein bodies was observed at later stages of seed germination. The protein bodies, which were converted into a large central vacuole by 8 DAI, contained very little 7S protein as evidenced by sparse protein A-gold labeling in the vacuoles.

한국산 및 중국산 김치의 Bacteria 군집 분석 및 발효과정 중 Bacilli 포자 형성 규명 (Bacterial Community Monitoring of Commercial Kimchi Produced in Korea and China with Evidence of Bacilli Spore Formation during Fermentation)

  • Bacteria 군집 차이를 이용한 신속한 한국산 및 중국산 김치 원산지 판별 가능성의 검토를 위하여 Terminal Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (T-RFLP) 분석법을 적용하였다. T-RFLP 분석은 김치발효에 관여하는 주요 유산균의 빠르고, 재현성 있는 검출에는 효과적이었지만, 종(species) 수준에서의 미생물 확인에는 한계를 가지고 있어 한국산 및 중국산 김치에 특이적으로 존재하는 bacteria의 검출에는 부적합한 것으로 평가되었다. T-RFLP를 적용한 발효과정 중의 한국산 및 중국산 김치에 존재하는 bacteria 군집 천이 분석은 비슷한 양상으로 나타났고, Bacillus 속이 발효 후기까지 검출되었다. 또한 Bacillus 속은 발효 후기에 포자를 형성하는 것으로 확인되었다.

  • 휴대폰이나 PDA를 이용한 모바일게임은 통신료가 상대적으로 비싸기 때문에 폰투폰 또는 온라인 게임대신 다운로드형의 게임이 주류를 이룬다. 특히 애완동물들이나 식물 둥 사용자의 분신과 같은 아바타를 육성 시키는 게임이 각광을 받고 있다. 아바타를 육성시키기 위해서는 다양한 아이템의 제공이 필수적이나 사용자간에 원하는 아이템의 종류가 틀리고 모바일 단말기로는 메모리 저장 용량에 한계가 있기 때문에 홈페이지를 통해서 원하는 아이템만을 선별해서 다운로드 받아야 한다. 또한 아이템들을 제공하는 게임 개발사에서는 새로운 아이템이 만들어 질 때마다 SMS메시지 등을 통해 사용자에게 알려줘야 하며 이를 위하여 WEB 서버와 WAP서버를 Call Back URL이나 ARS를 통해 연동 시켜야만 한다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 연동을 위한 구조를 설명하고 JAVA 기반의 휴대폰 운영체제에 적합한 연동 방법을 제안하였다. 제안된 방법은 게임의 생명주기를 늘렸으며 수익성도 증대시킬 수 있다.

발효오이의 산패예견표의 개발 (Development of Preservation Prediction Chart for Long Term Storage of Fermented Cucumber)

  • 발효된 오이의 산패는 원하지 않는 미생물의 2차적 생장에 의한 결과이며 장기보관을 원하는 발효오이 식품은 일반적으로 고농도의 염을 사용한다. 염의 농도를 최소한으로 하면서 산패를 방지할 수 있는 pH의 범위를 모색하기 위하여 다양한 조합의 pH와 NaCl 농도를 갖는 발효오이즙(FCS) 배양액에 3가지 종류의 산패액을 각각 접종하여 발효오이의 산패여부를 조사하였다. pH3에서는 NaCl의 첨가가 없더라도 산패는 일어나지 않는데 비하여 pH 5.0에서는 4%의 NaCl에서도 모두 산패가 진행되었다. pH 3.5, pH 4, pH 4.5 에서는 0%와 2% NaCl의 범위 내에서 다양한 결과를 보였다. 이 결과를 바탕으로 발효오이의 산패를 예견할 수 있는 조견표를 작성하였다. 조견표의 사용은 발효오이의 장기보관을 위한 적절한 산도와 염의 농도의 선택을 가능하게 할 것이다.

원자력기기 내진해석응답스펙트럼 생성프로그램 개발 (Development of Response Spectrum Generation Program for Seismic Analysis of the Nuclear Equipment)

  • In our country, when the replacement for individual components of equipment in nuclear power plants is required, establishment of individual criteria i.e. Required Response Spectra(RRS) of seismic test/analysis for the component is very difficult because of the absence of Test Response Spectra(TRS) for the individual component to be replaced, from the existing qualification documents. In this case, it is required to perform the structural analysis for the nuclear equipment including the components to be replaced. After the structural analysis, Analysis Response Spectra(ARS) at the point of the component shall be generated and used for seismic test of the component. However, as of today, no standard program authorized for the response spectra generation by using the structural analysis exists in korea. Because of above reason, the STAR-Egs computer program was developed by using the method which calculates directly the expected response spectrum(frequency vs. acceleration type) of the selected points in the nuclear equipment with input spectrum(Required Response Spectra, RRS), based on the dynamic characteristics of the Finite Element(FE) model that is equivalent to the nuclear equipment. The STAR-Egs controls ANSYS/I-DEAS commercial software and automatically extract modal parameters of the FE model. The STAR-Egs calculates response spectrum using the established algorithm based on the extracted modal parameters, too. Reliance on the calculation result of the STAR-Egs was verified through comparison output with the result of MATLAB commercial software based on the identical algorithm. Moreover, actual seismic testing was performed as per IEEE344-1987 for the purpose of program verification by comparison of the FE analysis results.

Reciprocal effect of ethyl formate and phosphine gas on two quarantine pests, Tetranychus urticae(Acari: Tetranychidae) and Myzus persicae(Hemiptera: Aphididae)

  • Fumigation of fruits and vegetables during quarantine and pre-shipment(QPS) treatment should be effective with a shorter fumigation time to minimize phytotoxicity. In this research study, a shorter fumigation time, 2 hours exposure which is shorter than that of the current commercial fumigation procedures using a lower dose of ethyl formate (EF) mixed with phosphine (PH3) on strawberry was investigated. The reciprocal effect between EF and PH3 against nymphs and adult Myzus persicae (Sulzer) and Tetranychus urticae (Koch) was evaluated. In addition, L(Ct)50 and L(Ct)99 of EF only and EF mixed with PH3 were analyzed at 5℃ and 20℃. The synergistic ratio (SR) of L(Ct)50 and L(Ct)99 for the nymph and adult stages of M. persicae were >1.0, which indicated a synergistic effect between EF and PH3. However, the SR values of L(Ct)50 and L(Ct)99 of the nymph and adult stages of T. urticae were ≤1.0 indicating that there was no synergistic effect between the two fumigants against T. urticae. Our results showed that the reciprocal effect between EF and PH3 has different effects on M. persicae and T. urticae. This could be attributed to the biological and physical differences between the class Arachnida and Insecta. The synergistic effect between EF and PH3 against M. persicae within a shorter exposure period and without phytotoxicity on fruits and vegetables will significantly benefit the horticultural industry.

Biochemical and Biodiversity Insights into Heavy Metal Ion-Responsive Transcription Regulators for Synthetic Biological Heavy Metal Sensors

  • To adapt to environmental changes and to maintain cellular homeostasis, microorganisms adjust the intracellular concentrations of biochemical compounds, including metal ions; these are essential for the catalytic function of many enzymes in cells, but excessive amounts of essential metals and heavy metals cause cellular damage. Metal-responsive transcriptional regulators play pivotal roles in metal uptake, pumping out, sequestration, and oxidation or reduction to a less toxic status via regulating the expression of the detoxification-related genes. The sensory and regulatory functions of the metalloregulators have made them as attractive biological parts for synthetic biology, and the exceptional sensitivity and selectivity of metalloregulators toward metal ions have been used in heavy metal biosensors to cope with prevalent heavy metal contamination. Due to their importance, substantial efforts have been made to characterize heavy metal-responsive transcriptional regulators and to develop heavy metal-sensing biosensors. In this review, we summarize the biochemical data for the two major metalloregulator families, SmtB/ArsR and MerR, to describe their metal-binding sites, specific chelating chemistry, and conformational changes. Based on our understanding of the regulatory mechanisms, previously developed metal biosensors are examined to point out their limitations, such as high background noise and a lack of well-characterized biological parts. We discuss several strategies to improve the functionality of the metal biosensors, such as reducing the background noise and amplifying the output signal. From the perspective of making heavy metal biosensors, we suggest that the characterization of novel metalloregulators and the fabrication of exquisitely designed genetic circuits will be required.
