A Study on Structure of Information about ARS(Automatic Response System) - with Emphasis on the Development of Gimhae Bus Information System ARS - (ARS(자동응답시스템) 정보 구조에 관한 연구 -김해 버스정보시스템 ARS 개발을 중심으로-)

  • When customer makes a phone call to get the necessary information, ARS (Automatic Response System) will provide them without the limitation of time and place. Therefore, the application field of ARS (Automatic Response System) has been expanded and also occupancy rates arepretty high. However, compared with the importance of ARS, there is little study regarding the closest information structure of the actual users. Therefore, this research is about the ARS information structure of Gimhea BIS (Bus Information System), and the point of this research is to analyze the problem of the ARS information structure so we can suggest an idea to improve it. As the methods of study, drawing the workflow of ARS, conducting user observation, comparing with cases another region and analysis them. As a result, by and large there was error in the structure of information so, system reformation was required. Now that, we suggested two ideas for the improvement and we conducted usability test under that problem. Usability test was conducted by Lab test with interview. As a result, we could understand merits and demerits of two ideas for improvement, and we completed final improvement to highlight only merits of two ideas for improvement. This study will be utilized as the base material to improve ARS of Gimhea BIS.

  • Whereas ARS(Automatic Response System)s are a typical communication system very widely used, it has a predominating reputation that it is of great inconvenience. This irony does not stem from technological deficiency, but rather from the usability problem. Under the current situation that there is little research and results in terms of ARS usability, we introduce an ARS simulator designed to help ARS usability tests more effectively. As a system for ARS usability researchers, it provides an environment for the mock task design and users' performance of the task. Further, it saves the mock task history and analyzes users' action patterns to some extent.

Classification of Pathological Voice from ARS using Neural Network (신경회로망을 이용한 ARS 장애음성의 식별에 관한 연구)

  • Speech material, which is collected from ARS(Automatic Response System), was analyzed and classified into disease and non-disease state. The material include 11 different kinds of diseases. Along with ARS speech, DAT(Digital Audio Tape) speech is collected in parallel to give the bench mark. To analyze speech material, analysis tools, which is developed local laboratory, are used to provide an improved and robust performance to the obtained parameters. To classify speech into disease and non-disease class, multi-layered neural network was used. Three different combinations of 3, 6, 12 parameters are tested to obtain the proper network size and to find the best performance. From the experiment, the classification rate of 92.5% was obtained.

Acoustic screening test for laryngeal cancer (음성을 이용한 후두암의 집단선별검사)

  • Background and Objectives: Total laryngectomy is often required for advanced cases. But this operation induced the many inconvenience of basic daily life. Early diagnosis of laryngeal cancer is very important to prevent from this disastrous condition. In this point of view, mass screening test for early detection of laryngeal cancer is necessary. Screening test using voice has many advantages such as simple, less interventional. Voice collection by Automatic Response System(ARS) is comfortable and easy to got acoustic sample. Thus author tried to got the acoustic parameters which can differentiate normal, benign. and malignant laryngeal diseases and also checked the availability of parameters on neural network system. Materials and Methods: Author has evaluated the voice from 17 laryngeal cancer patients and 45 benign laryngeal disease patients who visited at Department of Otolaryngology, Pusan National University Hospital from May 1998 to April 2001, and 15 normal control. Author chose the sir Parameters (Jitt. vFo, Shim, vAm, NHR, SPI) that was thought to be related with voice collected by ARS among thirty-three parameters analysed by a Multi-Dimensional Voice Program (MDVP). Two-step neural network was used for the availability of six parameters. Results: The detection rate of normal voice by ARS voice analysis is 78.5% and detection rate of abnormal voice was 97.1 o/o. Among abnormal voice, the detection rate of benign laryngeal diseases and laryngeal cancers were 82.4 o/o, 70.6% respectively. Conclusion: Author concluded that six parameters and Matlab based neural network software may be effective in development of acoustic screening system for laryngeal cancer and further study should be necessary for development of new acoustic parameters.

  • This paper introduces a history and achievements of the research activities on screening of laryngeal diseases using acoustic analysis. First domestic and international research trends are introduced. Next brief introduction of the research results by the authors are mentioned. First, classification method of the laryngeal diseases using neural network is summarized. Then similar research using ARS (Automatic Response System) is mentioned. Finally, current research activities on screening of laryngeal diseases on internet is introduced.

  • 현재 통신망상에서 운영되고 있는 네트워크 장애처리시스템의 가장 큰 문제점은 통신망상에서 발생한 장애를 보고하는 기능은 지니고 있지만, 이에 대한 효율적 처리의 방안이 부족하다는 것이다. 또한 발생한 장애에 대한 데이터베이스 유지와 이를 활용하여 지식 정보화를 구축하는 측면과 통신망 사용자의 문의 및 불만 상담을 처리하고, 사용자에게 장애 처리에 대한 정보를 제공하는 기능은 거의 제공되고 있지 못하다. 이러한 통신망 상에서 발생하는 장애를 효과적으로 해결하기 위해서는 장애를 처리하는 네트워크 장애처리시스템(Network Trouble Management System)이 필수적으로 요구되며, 이에 대한 운영 방식을 효율적으로 개선함으로써 통신망 장애로 인한 시간적, 경제적 손실을 최소화하고, 사용자와 관리자 모두에게 효과적인 시스템에 대한 구축의 필요성이 증대하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 전문가 기반의 장애처리시스템에 자동 응답 시스템을 접목시켜 각 분야의 전문가들을 영입하고 관리할 수 있으며, 기존의 장애 처리 데이터베이스를 활용하여 사용자에게 장애처리에 대한 방안을 제시한 수 있는 전문가 기반의 확장 장애처리시스템을 구현함으로써 사용자에게 신뢰성 있는 고부가가치의 서비스를 제공할 수 있게 하였다.

A Study of Systematic Implementations for the Integrated ITS call center (교통정보 안내전화 통합연계시스템 구축에 관한 연구)

  • The aim of this study is to propose an integrated operation plan of information call services by multi-connecting call services which are now being serviced by each different call number services and by providing one stop service which organically links alternative transportations such as railroad, air, and bus and also related organizations as well as road traffic information. For the objective, we analyzed the current status of Korean and foreign country systems and reviewed operation technology and technical specifications of the integrated system according to 3 steps, i.e. infrastructure procurement, test bed and extended completion, stabilization and high valuable services completion. Throughout the result of this study, traffic information one stop service, convenient service, diverse related information provision service, real-time information provision, and efficient system are expected to be implemented in the traffic information call service.
