In structural applications, brittle materials such as soda-lime glasses and ceramics are usually subjected to multiaxial stress state. Brittle materials with cracks or damage by foreign object impacts are apt to fracture abruptly from cracks, because of their properities of very high strength and low fracture toughness. But in most cases, the residual strength of structural members with damage has been tested under uniaxial stress condition such as the 4-point bend test. Depending upon the crack pattern developed, the strength under multiaxial stress state might be different from the one under uniaxial. A comparative study was carried out to investigate the influence of stress state on the residual strength evaluation. In comparable tests, the residual strength under biaxial stress state by the ball-on-ring test was greater than that under the uniaxial one by the 4-point bend test, when a small size indendation crack was introduced. In the case that crack having an angle of 90deg. to the applied stress direction, the ratio of biaxial to uniaxial flexure strength was about 1.12. The residual strength was different from crack angles to loading direction when it was evaluated by the 4-point bend test. The ratio of residual strength of 45deg. crack to 90deg. one was about 1.20. In the case of specimen cracked by a spherical impact, it was shown that an overall decrease in flexure strength with increasing impact velocity, and the critical impact velocity for formation of a radial and/or cone crack was about 30m/s. In those cases that relatively large cracks were developed as compared with the case of indented cracks, the ratio of residual strength under biaxial stress state to one uniaxial became small.

On offshore platforms, oil and gas leaks are apt to be the initial events of major accidents that may result in significant loss of life and property damage. To prevent accidents induced by leakage, it is vital to perform a case-specific and accurate risk assessment. This paper presents an integrated method of Ddynamic Qquantitative Rrisk Aassessment (DQRA)-using the Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL)-Bayesian Network (BN)-for evaluation of the system vulnerabilities and prediction of the occurrence probabilities of accidents induced by leakage. In the method, three-level indicators are established to identify factors, events, and subsystems that may lead to leakage, fire, and explosion. The critical indicators that directly influence the evolution of risk are identified using DEMATEL. Then, a sequential model is developed to describe the escalation of initial events using an Event Tree (ET), which is converted into a BN to calculate the posterior probabilities of indicators. Using the newly introduced accident precursor data, the failure probabilities of safety barriers and basic factors, and the occurrence probabilities of different consequences can be updated using the BN. The proposed method overcomes the limitations of traditional methods that cannot effectively utilize the operational data of platforms. This work shows trends of accident risks over time and provides useful information for risk control of floating marine platforms.
The brown alga Saccharina japonica is consumed as a foodstuff in many countries. Carbon tetrachloride ($CCl_4$) is a potent hepatotoxin that is used to assess hepatotoxicity in animal models. This study assessed the protective effect of S. japonica extract (SJE) on $CCl_4$-induced acute liver injury in rats. Experimental rats were divided into the following three groups: control, $CCl_4$, and $CCl_4$+SJE; the latter two groups were given 150 or 300 mg SJE/kg orally for 10 days. Three hours after the final treatment, all rats-except for those in the control group-were administered intraperitoneal injections of $CCl_4$. One day later, blood and liver samples were collected for evaluation biomarker of levels. Aspartate transaminase (APT; GPT) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT; GOT) levels were markedly lower in the $CCl_4$+SJE group than the $CCl_4$ group. The hepatic superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity of the $CCl_4$+SJE group was significantly lower than that of the $CCl_4$ group. In comparison, glutathione S-transferase (GSH) and catalase (CAT) levels were significantly higher in the $CCl_4$+SJE group. Western blotting revealed that SJE attenuated the $CCl_4$-induced EGFR and MAPK activity in the liver. Thus, we conclude that SJE protects against $CCl_4$-induced hepatotoxicity.
The purpose of this study was to identify the perceptional difference of sexual image and sexual role between male and female students at the university level.. Questionnaires were collected from 418 students of H University in Kangwon-do, Korea from September to December 1999. The research tools were Sexual Image(Joo,1996, Cronbach's $\alpha$=.83) and Sexual Role (Chang,1989, Cronbach's $\alpha$=.93). Data were analyzed by SPSS-PC. The results of this study were as follows: According to factors of sexual image, the average score of sexual attitude was 3.06, that of sexual evaluation was 2.41, and that of sexual curiosity was 2.18, therefore university students had a high degree of curiosity but also had a relatively more exclusive image related to sexuality; there was a significant difference in sexual image between male and female students (t=10.99, p=0.010), male students were perceived to have a higher sexual curiosity and more positive sexual image than female students; the average score of sexual role was 2.21, that appeared to be a moderately progressive tendency; there was a significant difference in sexual role between male and female students (t=260.46, p=0.000), female students were apt to be more progressive in sexual role than male students. According to the above results, curriculum development and the application of at university would be necessary to develop and apply some liberal courses and workshop programs so that students and professors could prepare to identify ideal sexual roles and sexual images.
In this study, we assumed the kitchen fire raising the highest fire rate in apt. and analyzed the fire risk to use CFD in order to estimate the problem of evacuation equipment and the fire vulnerability of 16 or fewer storey apartment. Fire occurring in the kitchen is expended to the livingroom and other rooms. We analyzed that the temperature effected by heat was more than $60^{\circ}C$ after 90 sec in the entrance of apartment unit. If fire is early recognized by men and men don't escape in time, it have too huge demage to block the exit. When the evacuation equipment suggested in this study was installed in order to solve the problem of evacuation equipment, we analyzed that it was estimated more than safe in safety evaluation by heat and heat flux.

Due to the Internet and computing capability, new and variant malware are discovered around 1 Million per day. Companies use dynamic analysis such as behavior analysis on virtual machines for unknown malware detection because attackers use unknown malware which is not detected by signature based AV effectively. But growing number of malware types are not only PE(Portable Executable) but also non-PE such as MS word or PDF therefore dynamic analysis must need more resources and computing powers to improve detection effectiveness. This study elicits the pre-filtering system evaluation factor to improve effective dynamic malware analysis system and presents and verifies the decision making model and the formula for solution selection using AHP(Analytics Hierarchy Process)
Fracture energy values KV have been measured on cast steel, used in the container manufacture, by instrumented Charpy impact testing. This material has a large ductility on the upper transition region at $+20^{\circ}C$ and a ductile tearing with an expended plasticity before a brittle fracture on the lower transition region at $-20^{\circ}C$. To assess the fracture toughness of this material we use, the $K_{IC}$-KV correlations to measure the critical stress intensity factor $K_{IC}$ on the lower transition region and the dynamic force - displacement curves to measure the critical fracture toughness $J{\rho}_C$, the essential work of fracture ${\Gamma}_e$ on the upper transition region. It is found, using the $K_{IC}$-KV correlations, that the critical stress intensity factor $K_{IC}$ remains significant, on the lower transition region, which indicating that our testing material preserves his ductility at low temperature and it is apt to be used as a container's material. It is, also, found that the $J_{\rho}-{\rho}$ energetic criterion, used on the upper transition region, gives a good evaluation of the fracture toughness closest to those found in the literature. Finally, we show, by using the ${\Gamma}_e-K_{IC}$ relation, on the lower transition region, that the essential work of fracture is not suitable for the toughness measurement because the strong scatter of the experimental data. To complete this study by a numerical approach we used the ANSYS code to determine the critical fracture toughness $J_{ANSYS}$ on the upper transition region.
In Republic of Korea, there are many Quality Assurance protocol for general radiation treatment machine such as linac. However, Quality Assurance protocol for radiosurgery treatment system is not ready perfectly. One of the radiation treatment machine for radiosurgery, novalis system needs to suitable Quality Assurance protocol for using it right way during radiation treatment and maintaining suitable accuracy for daily, weekly, monthly and annually periods. Therefore, in this article, we develop Quality Assurance protocol for novalis system. We collected and analysed domestic and foreign novalis Quality Assurance protocol. After that, we selected essential QA items and each tolerance range for developing proper QA protocol, and we made anatomical phantom for execution of selected QA items and evaluation of overall state of QA, and then, we use this measured value as a reference. Quality Assurance items are consisted of Mechanical accuracy QA part and Radiation delivery QA part. Mechanical accuracy QA part is comprised of radiation generation machine part, assistive devices part and multi-leaf collimator part. Radiation delivery QA part is divided into radiation isocenter accuracy and dosimetric evaluation. After that, developed novalis QA tables are made by using these QA items. These novalis QA tables would be used to good standard in order to maintain apt accuracy for radiosurgery in daily, weekly, monthly and annually periods.
Since consumers have difficulty in acquiring information related to products in online, they are apt to use WOM(word-of-mouth). It seems to be more popular and acceptable methods to acquire information about products sold in online. In other words, consumers who visit the Internet shopping-mall can not make a purchase-decision immediately because they have no sufficient knowledge about products. To solve this problem, consumers make use of the service called "online review". The objective of this study is to verify how these reviews can influence attitude toward the message, product and several buying behaviors in the online. In particular, this study focus on the message's sidedness(positive or negative) and objectivity(objective or subjective), because it is expected that consumers are likely to behave differently according to the characteristics of online reviews. Thus, to measure consumer's attitude and buying behavior, this study was examined by 4 types of messages. The results of this study are as follows: First, in the positive-objective message, the message attitude has a stronger effect on purchase intention than other outcomes. Second, in the positive-subjective message, the message attitude has a stronger effect on revisiting intention than others. Third, in the negative-objective message, the message attitude has a stronger effect on purchase intention than others. Hence, it is said that online shopping-mall managers need to understand the effects of multidimensional online review.
