This paper reviews the literature on life course as a perspective in family studies. Life course approach on family studies have been emerged since 1960. This approach, which is challenging accepted knowledge and theory, partly reflects a shift in analytic perspective from structural models to a more behavioral thrust that views as a actor in structured situations, Life course approach is a theoretical orientation for our understanding of the linkage between individual and family development in context of changing historical context. Life course approach contributes time, process, and context to receiving in sociological perspectives on family and kinship.

This paper is a study on constructing a natural language interface to database, concentrating on generating textual answers. TGEN, a system that generates textual answer from query result tables is presented. The TGEN architecture guarantees its portability across domains. A combination of a frame-based approach and natural language generation techniques in the TGEN provides text fluency and text flexibility. The implementation result shows that this approach is feasible while a deep NLG approach is still far to be reached.

In the Taguchi parameter design, the product-array approach using orthogonal arrays is mainly used. However, it often requires an excessive number of experiments. An alternative approach, which is called the combined-array approach, was suggested by Welch et al (1990) and studied by Vining and Myers (1990) and others. In these studies, only single respouse variable was considered. We propose how to simultaneously optimize multiple responses when there are correlations among responses.

This paper concerns a modified perturbation method and a least square approach to synthesize an optimum beam pattern of a thinned sensor array with respect to element spacing. In the modified perturbation, the antenna spacing is perturbed iteratively such that the sidelobes are equalized via a linear programming approach. The least square approach is proposed to improve the array performance for the thinned array using the fact that the number of sidelobes is more than the number of element spacings. It is demonstrated that the least square approach performs better than the modified perturbation method.

This study is performed to secure the safety of civil aviation by establishing systematic analysis ability of Flight Data Recorder. Through this study, readouting UFDR(Universal Flight Data Recorder) to personal computer, flight data numerical analysis and regulations of Missed Approach. In the analysis, the flight data of B747-400 model aircraft with Missed Approach in San Francisco(KSFO) was selected.

지금까지 인간이나 다른 생물체의 전체 유전체 염기서열을 밝혀내는 작업은 크게 세가지 방법으로 진행되었다. Clone-by-clone approach, sequence tagged connector approach, random shotgun approach[1]가 그것인데 마지막의 random shotgun approach는 fragment assembly problem을 비롯한 여러 가지 전산학적인 문제들을 수반한다. 미생물체의 전체 염기서열을 random shotgun approach를 이용하여 밝혀낼 때 몇 가지 전산학적인 문제가 테크닉이 필요하며 그 중에서도 서열간의 forward, reverse의 mating 정보를 이용하는 것이 중요하다. 본 논문은 이러한 mating 작업을 한 눈에 볼 수 있게 하는 소프트웨어 페키지 “Mater”에 대해 소개하고자 하며 그 의미에 대해 논하고자 한다.

Robust design in industry is an approach to reducing performance variation of quality characteristic values in products and processes. In the Taguchi type robust design, the product array approach using orthogonal arrays is mainly used. However, it often requires an excessive number of experiments. In this paper, for the combined array approach to assign control and noise factors, we propose how to simultaneously optimize multiple quality characteristics. Two examples are illustrated to show the difference between the product-array approach and the combined-array approach.

This paper proposes an approach to the identification of trnasfer function models. A strategy for the identification of the model structure is based on R and S arrays constructed by the impulse response function of the model. Theoretical patterns of the arrays associated with the model are investigated, and the practical implementation method of the suggested approach is also discussed. Finally two published samples are employed to demonstrate the practicability of the approach.

인구의 경제활동상태를 측정하는 방법으로, 평상상태접근법과 현재상태접근법(노동력접근법)의 두가지 만이 있으며, 평상상태접근법을 종전의 유업자접근방법과 동일한 것으로 오해하는 경우를 종종 보고 있다. 이는 유업자접근방법에서 유업자를 평상 일을 하고 있는 자라고 정의한데서 기인한다. 그러나 유업자와 무업자로만 인구를 구분하고 있는 유업자접근방법은 1930년대 세계 대공황을 계기로 실업자 파악이 불가능하고, 조사자, 피조사자의 주관이 너무 개입되는 등의 비판이 제기되어 1940년에 노동력접근방법으로 대체되었다. 이러한 노동력 접근방법이 1947년 ILO의 공식 접근방법으로 권고된 뒤 많은 국가에서 이 방법을 채택하고 있다. 한편 ILO는 1982년에 평상상태접근법(Usual Status Approach)을 소개하였는데, 이는 종전 유업자접근방법과 달리 1년간의 활동상태에 따라 취업자, 실업자, 비경제활동인구를 파악하는 방법이다. 따라서 경제활동인구를 파악하는 방법은 기본적으로 노동력접근방법(현재상태접근방법), 평상상태접근방법, 유업자접근방법의 3가지가 있다. 본고는 이들 경제활동상태를 측정하는 세 가지 접근방법의 차이점과 장, 단점을 살펴보고 또 이들 접근법을 실제 적용한 결과를 분석함으로써 우리 나라의 상황에 가장 적합한 접근방법을 밝히고자 한다. 우리 나라는 근래 산업구조가 근대화되어 농업과 같은 계절성이 강한 산업에 종사하는 인구의 비율이 아주 낮고, 또한 1년 동안의 활동과 특정기간 동안 활동이 서로 다른 인구의 비율이 낮게 나타나는 반면, 인구이동률은 아주 높게 나타나고 있다. 이러한 점을 고려 한다면 우리 나라 경제활동인구를 파악하는 조사에는 노동력접근법을 채택하는 것이 바람직하다. 이외에도 경제활동인구조사에서 채택하고 있는 노동력접근법을 그 모집단이 되는 인구주택 총조사에서도 채택하는 것이 좀더 합리적일 것이다. 그 이유로는 총조사의 결과가 각종 표본조사의 결과를 검증하고 보완하는 벤치마크 기능도 수행하기 때문이다.
